Jerrod didn't like his fellows' bullish approach. Okay, its clear from everyone here we're going to take some convincing. This information you have for us, do you think it would convince anyone here?

The man nods in approval. "Very good...we needed to make sure that you're not just in for tha money and would sell the weapons to the highest bidder...know what I mean? I represent several higher-level military personnel who fear this evil just as much as you do AND who believe in tha old tales you've been told. Most of tha military is only the former, 'm afraid. We are prepared to offer some assistance in your search to unlock the weapons. We've bin secretly watchin' Benjamin's scouts, and a few days ago, the one searchin' through tha ruins in the Great Desert obviously stumbled onto something he shouldn't 'ave, because he hasn't come out yet. The first thing I can offer you is, of course, extra funds and some supplies you might need from our barracks. I also have passage prepared for you on a ship heading that way, though you'll need to help the captain out to hide the fact that it was paid for by us...those blasted trips all the way to East Rust Rock across the Demon Strait are sorely overpriced and I doubt you could afford it. What we actually need from you is any information you come across as to the full nature of tha threat we face, so that we can convince the rest of the military structure to get in line with us." He removes the passes from his cloak and shows them to the group.

Dag pauses for a moment, mulling over the deal. "Eh, sounds ok. But I ain't gonna give you this.", he motions to the morningstar at his hip. "If it's supposed to be as important as I'm told, then I'm keepin it with me at all times."

I take it you've been told everything we know already about the threat then? About the lich and undead yes?
__________________Sounds fair, I suppose. Although I don't like you testing us like that, just for future reference. We've got just as little reason to trust you, y'know.' |

The man wavers a bit at the mention of the lich, but he recovers quickly. "Oh, yes, even bein' one of the lowest on my totem pole, I still know what happened at Tschetter's Jewel...but no, I had no idea it was a lich that sent them...my gods, this IS a troublin' situation...but it is not surprising that I wasn't given that bit of information." His demeanor returns to normal and he goes back to waiting for a definitive answer.

Hearing and seeing his mates' approval, he nods happily. "Very well, we'll do it. We'd like a way to contact you, or anyone else in your group, when we have the information."

Ken gives Jezar a sidelong glare, "You don't speak for all of us boy." He looks back at the military man, "I still haven't caught a name from you. What you say sounds good, but we have no reason to think it was true, and the wizard didn't seem to keen on us going to this island. You have any sort of proof you are who you say?"

The man groans and you can hear him mumbling, Here we go again... as he hands you his rolled-up ID parchment. It bears the Zareen military seal, an identification number of L-122379, and the name 'Rotchburns, Michael'. Readily noticeable are poorly rubbed away letters spelling out 'Mike' above 'Michael'. Mike just counts stones in the dirt as he waits for your inspection to be through.

Ken looks through the documents, enough to verify that they look authentic, then looks at the man, Mike, "Rotchburns, I believe that you are who you say, no one would make up a name like Rotchburns, I'll bet you got it good at the academy."

Jerrod read the name, thinking nothing of it. Ken's comment did make him think though. When he finally caught it he couldn't help but say pff, not even my parents hated me that much. No wonder you were so secretive. I take if you prefer Michael then?

The man vigorously nods his head at the mention of the name 'Michael'. Relief washes over his face as no one has broken out in laughter yet.

Koric looks around the group looking for anyone to say anything, after a few moments he speaks up, "Well seeing as we have no better place to look i will take a pass for myself, i do not speak for everyone though.
