His gaze then swept the room, "And I should remind all of you that I'm not forcing you to do this. If, at any time, you feel you do not wish to continue, you are more than free to go elsewhere. I am not a tyrant, and I know that not all of you are my subjects." Even as he said it, it was obvious that the King fully expected you to do it anyway, if for nothing else than the monetary reward he was offering. |

"I'll help in any way that I can, considering I live in the forest. Though, I may not be of much use..." She trailed off as she sorta stood there, unsure of what to do from this point onwards.

"Ah, so the name's Keldra." Valdar smiled grandly. "What I meant by young'un is child. It's an endearing word. Surely you're a child. But why are you here?"
Valdar completely misses the King's statements and the approach of the lady. |

"Same reason as all of us, I imagine." Qiana said before looking up to the ceiling in thought. "Unless she has a secret agenda or something... right, Little Lady?" she actually asked Keldra with a playful smile before looking back at the King.
"You already know my awnser, You're Highness. I'm not about to reak family tradition." |

Virlyss did not look away when the King attempted eye contact, establishing eye contact with him quite easily as she remained on one knee in front of him. Her eyes, flaming gold as any Gerudo's eyes, held no trace of fear. Instead, there was hesitation held within their golden depths. The offer...should she accept it?
"..." On one hand, she did not want to get directly involved right away...she was still uncertain as to what was going on, and agreeing to something like this wasn't much her style. Dealing with a group of travelers...she hadn't ever traveled with anyone; it would be awkward for her, and they could quite possibly get in her way. On the other hand...Virlyss took one more glance at the people gathered. Her curiosity, the one reason why she was even in this room to begin with, could perhaps get the better of her. This could aid in her quest of knowledge, and she knew it. Her mind had a battle of sorts, her common-sense defending itself from the onslaught of her intensely curious nature...eventually, the defender lost the fortress. "I accept." She said, her low voice carrying slightly. |

Valdar looks over at Qiana. Yes... Well... She's but a child. She shouldn't be here and going to try and kill off some foul beast. It's just not something children should do. He clearly feels like she shouldn't be coming with them, but that if she does, he will see to it that no major harm befalls her. It's his duty as a Goron. The community must raise the children.

"But I want to help! The forest is my home! Besides, I'm not as young as you may think! I'm about 100 years older than the youngest Kokiri!" Keldra, just now realizing that the goron was making light of her because of her size and appearance, decided that she would argue. She didn't like being made fun of because of the way she looked, especially after the teasing she got from the other Kokiri because of her eyes.

Virlyss watched the exchange between the Goron and the Kokiri from where she now stood in front of the throne. A small frown crossed her features.
"You underestimate her." She said, almost non-chalantly. "For a Kokiri to leave to forest on her own and end up here...with blind eyes, no less, is quite remarkable." Now, Virlyss stopped to look at the small child-like Kokiri. She was most definitely blind, she knew she was not mistaken. "Let her prove herself." The half-Gerudo now fell silent, her intense golden gaze remaining on the Kokiri. She knew what it felt like to be doubted because of the way one looked...it was not a pleasant feeling, and she knew it would probably be tougher for the Kokiri; they could be as old as dirt, and people would still underestimate them due to their child-like appearance. |

"Woah, clam down there. I'm not making fun of you or anything like that. ..... ...... one hundred.....? WHAT? Kokiri?..... As in the ones from the Legend? Baraz Umgak! Valdar's eyes opened wider and he obviously is punishing himself inside for saying that sort of thing in front of company.
NEVER, EVER, EVER use language like that. Even if no one can understand it. You know better than that! Valdar's eyes begin to tear up and his sentences break up.. "I.... I had no idea... No idea that... That you... Were... a... a Kokiri... I... I'm sorry... He turns away ashamedly. Kokiri are the stuff of legends. The race that the Hero of Time was born out of. I never thought that they ACTUALLY EXISTED! Graniteblast! Baraz Umgak! I should have known! Sure, Saria's one of the sages, but then again, I haven't seen proof that she ever existed. Now Darunia, he's another story. But Saria? And the Kokiri? Thery're the stuff of stories, right? But if this girl IS a kokiri... Then I just... I just insulted her more than anyone could ever insult me. Ginit! |

Aurion looked at the goron when he mentioned kokiri and then said out loud "I'm a kokiri as well. Just so you know in the future.". Then Aurion looked at the king and while walking to join the rest of the group said "So when we leaving to the forest? and how are we meant to get there? Were walking or your going to provides us some way of travel?".

"I too would like to know these things... the fields are not safe in the deep hours of the night." Adrian says with a slight shiver.

Keldra, being blind, had no idea that the goron's eyes were tearing up, but she could hear the change in his voice well enough. "What does it matter if I'm a Kokiri or not? I would just appreciate it if you wouldn't judge me on looks alone." Keldra then turned to Virlyss and gave her a smile, as if thanking her for not passing judgement on her because of her appearance.

Two Kokiri... Darunia help me!
He immediately bowed to them. "My apologies, to the both of you. Keldra, I meant not to judge you." He turns to Aurion. "And you... I simply hadn't seen you." Last edited by Rogue13; 06-13-2008 at 07:28 PM. |

Aurion looked at the goron and smiled "Well if you couldn't see me when im in front of you, imagine whats its going to be when we reach the forest" then Aurion lets out a quiet laugh and looks back at the king.

The King stood up at the question, getting up slowly as answered the question. "I'm going to have a cleric guide you to the forest. He will keep the creatures of the night at bay. When you reach the forest, you are all on your own." He looked around the group, looking at all of them in turn. "I wish I could let Jacobs stay with you throughout the forest, but we need him here. His order is responsible for keeping the wards around the town up, and they need every member they have now. The only reason he is being spared now is because someone needs to protect you from the lost souls that have been rising in the field of late.
__________________Looking around the group once more, he smiled as a guard walked up to the group and bowed to the King. "Your highness, Jacobs will be waiting at the main gate for their arrival." The King waved a hand at the man to dismiss him. "I'd originally intended to send you off in the morning, with my attendant, Jack, staying with you until you had finished your mission. It grieves me that he may be hurt, or worse." The King's face was grim as he looked in the direction of Kakariko town, his hand reaching for a sword at his belt that wasn't there. |
