My Gaming Idea Thread
So many ideas, so little time...... If anyone else reading this has ideas for games they'd like to see developed, but don't have the time, energy, or motivation to actually go through with it, feel free to post them here. If I like them, I'll probably pick them up at one point (and make sure you get credit for the original idea/inspiration). If DM's see something in here they like and want to go for it, go right ahead. Just let me know so I can submit an app. Last edited by The Ellimist; 11-16-2010 at 02:05 AM. |

-Pathfinder: Rise of the Runelords. I tried DMing this once, but it kinda fell through. I'd like to give this another try someday though.
__________________-Module Folder. When I get bored, I may set up a folder designed for me to run a single-play module through or some random plot that developed in my head. I'll run a module at a time and put in an archive folder to throw completed games. I'll probably come up with some catchy name like TE's Adventures to name the folder. If we CSers get folder permissions in the future, I may start making each have their own folder and then moving them to the archive folder mentioned below when they're done. It'd be easier to read through and follow them for those who want to do so later down the road. -Run the other Pathfinder campaigns. I'd like to give these a go after finishing Runelords. I may run these in the aforementioned module folder, or I may have each of them have their own folder. -Should have an Archive folder put in for general use. Like to put old game forums and general threads into. Done. -General Homebrew folder. For stuff I make that isn't specifically for one of my campaign settings. I'd probably make some modules based off random things I think of in here too. -Solo Game Sign-Up Sheet. When I get back into DMing, I'll give my old solo gamers a chance to start their games again. I'll start up a sign-up sheet thread where players can sign up with a character and game type and I'll go down the list as time allows me too. Done. -Harvest Moon d20. Why not? I suppose it'd be set up as solo games, I could run a few at a time. I may create a system similar to GURPS, at least in terms of character creation. -Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon d20. As above. Last edited by The Ellimist; 11-15-2010 at 06:19 AM. |

-Digimon d20. There's a Pokemon d20 game being set-up, so why not? I'll start off with the basic world setting type from the original series (kids getting transferred to a new world and being paired up with digimon partners), then after that I might create a version similar to Frontier where the PC's can transform into digimon. UPDATE: I think I'd like to use GURPS as a foundation for this one.

-Blank Character Sheets. A thread housed in my hideout with various character sheets I've created for use inside posts for systems that don't have a profiler sheet. I'll add sheets to this periodically as needed and others can add stuff too if they want.

-Pern Campaign Setting. Yes, the famous Anne McCaffrey books. This will be more of a political intrigue-oriented setting then a combat-oriented setting. As pretty much most combat is against Thread or are one-on-one duels. Playing a Harper would be seriously cool..... This will use the 3.5e rules or maybe GURPS. Although I don't have a lot of experience with GURPS yet, I've become a fan of it lately.

-Campaign: A bunch of teenagers from the modern world get transported to the world of D&D, where they are given new powers (1st level). Throw some prophecies into the mix for added mysterious chaos. Somewhat inspired by the old cartoon series, that I just finished watching again. Probably 3.5e, but I may run it in 4e since it'll be awhile before this game gets off the ground.

Lots of cool stuff in there that never gets the chance to be used in most games. -I may attempt running one of those "Mage Academy" games. They're a lot of fun, and a good read. -A game/setting based on Mushishi. It would make for some sweet solo games, as well as being very RP-intensive.
__________________-A game/setting based on Fairy Tail. Everyone will be some sort of specialized mage and run missions for the guild either in a group or solo. There's probably enough published content in 3.5e for casters that it wouldn't require any homebrew content. Any it does can be done on the fly on a case-by-case basis. Will likely utilize a spell point system instead of standard spells per day. Essentially the Arcane Adventurers game conceptually. Check it out. Last edited by The Ellimist; 01-29-2010 at 06:46 PM. |

A Pokemon TCG RPG game, basically taking the Yu-Gi-Oh realm and putting Pokemon into it. There's the old GBC game to work off too. (Somewhat inspired by the creation of the Yu-Gi-Oh: Demise Crisis game here on DnDOG)

Run/develop a game that focuses on hacking and cyber-warfare. Most likely d20 Modern or Shadowrun.

I've recently finished reading It Takes A Wizard by Thomas Hart and I think the concept and setting would make for a good duo game. If someone applying for one of my solo games wants to do this, find a partner and feel free to jointly apply for it [if apps are open].

The Arcane Adventurers: A 3.5e Campaign where the only classes allowed are those with Arcane magic abilities. Will be using the "100 Adventure Ideas" table on page 138-139 of Complete Mage as a basis, along with some extra ideas. I may add this together with the Fairy Tail campaign idea above (the guild concept, not the world) (make that a most likely). Game Forum's up, watch it for further info.

Got the new Kingmaker Pathfinder adventure path book the other day, looks pretty good. I'm waiting for the next book or two and if I like where it's going I may start it up this summer. Naresh stalked this post and set players upon me. Looks like I'll be starting this up sometime in early June once a couple more books get released and I square away some of my other stuff. Possibly might start end of May if I get ahead of schedule. Yeah, that didn't work out with me being gone and all. Looking at starting early December now.
