As the group finishes sizing up the room, and shamelessly taking anything not nailed to the floor, they open the two large, and heavy wooden doors. To not find the lycanthrope and hob goblin as they thought, but rather a metal stair case, with a metal railing running down it. This comes to a second door near the bottom, you can only see from flickering orbs of light on the roof, that look as if they may go out at any minute.
OOC: Do you want me to describe things as your characters would think they are or as they really are IE, your characters see the light bulbs as flickering orbs of light. |

Rhea starts down the rickety staircase under the strange orbs. Her anger and frustration begin to melt away as the strangeness begins to set in. Except for the fact that they were metal, these stairs looked more appropriate to go on a ship than in a building. Who could have wasted so much valuable metal on the making of stairs? And them make them flimsy and neglect them at that? She freezes like a rabbit pinned under a fallen stone, unsure if movement would attract attention when one of the orbs burst. A strange popping sound accompanies the sower of sparks as the light is suddenly reduced. After a moment, she continues on more slowly, still not sure if the event was some form of attack. |

With the bursting of a bulb a loud hum is heard, as that orb shattered, several others darkened, leaving only half of the original amount glowing.
OOC: Stair way is short about 30 steps, the bulbs above you were wired in two sets of series so when one goes out in a row they all go out. |

I'm not so sure this was the workings of the mage. Mcderth comments to Rhea. Maybe now that we have gotten the gods attention they have decided to fight us in some other strange way As the lights begins to go off he instinctivly draws an arrow and aims it up in one fluid motion, however he quickly notices that there is no danger thus far, so he continues to follow Rhea down the stairs.

Madden, wondering about the strange talk and happenings gathers his stuff, with his hammer in one hand and the waterskin of whisky in the other he takes a long deep swig and follows in silence, trying to take it all in at once... "By gods its the madness, and the choas will follow mark my words..." Madden is almost at a whisper.

Well, we won't get any where waiting up here. We might as well keep on going. Bracing him self the gnome runs down the stairs as fast as he was able. Pulling his fist back the gnome came to a sudden stop staring at the door. [b]This isn't a wooden door. Really who can afford to waste this much money on steel? but either way we need to get out of this corridor before more of those orbs blow up. Tentinatly he pokes the door with his finger, and decides to use what he calls his all purpose finger, and mutters a few words in his gnomish tounge, and puts his finger to the door. After a few minutes the steel knob and lock can be seen glowing a faint red. Taking this to his advantage the gnome kicks the now weakened steel, his boot is seen smoking lightly after words, but the door did come open.
The party enters the room, and see it is a very grand building, they are in now. The floor covered in carpet, with evenly laid out tiles. When they look out the window they can see pipes coming down to buckets, and that the side of the building has been rigged up with hundreds of black reflective panels, that have cords coming into the building to two large casings that let out a familiar hum as the lights had too. The cases display three different small multi coloured lights (red yellow and green) along with one large blue one on top. Several miniture windmills are also saw connected to the massive blocks. Throughout the floor on some of the tiles are blackened spots circled with stones, and a grate in the middle of each. You can tell they were obviously used for fires, as the roof above has been blackened from months of exposure to smoke. Piping can be seen throughout the roof also, though this was obviously added in recently. Around the fire pits are cans some opened some not. Steel lockers, some with a red cross made with even arms, are also strewn around the floor, each locked up, along with beds, and bunks, futons, couches, mattresses, and many other crude forms of beds, from sleeping bags made from stitched together comforters, to many pillows, large and small, sewn together to form a mattress. Most windows have been blocked off with heavy curtains, though each having the same cords running from them towards the large boxes. Though a few you can see a distorted light coming from, if they are looked out of the world seems darkened. Here the floor has been ripped apart and looks to be at least a foot deeper then the rest of the floor. It has been filled with soil, and has plants growing from it. It is about 10 feet long and 30 feet wide. In the roof above it, skylights can be seen above the makeshift garden giving it a brighter feel than the rest of the room. At the far end of the giant room with many steel support beams, is another door, that looks to have been also recently replaced, with a blinking light near the door knob, and seeming to have been fashioned to have been built to be apart of the concrete wall now, rather than in a frame. OOC: you are in an apartment building (top floor) that has had all the normal walls ripped out (save the bathroom walls) the tiled spots used to be kitchens, but all pipes and cabinets are gone (pipes in the roof, or coming from the windows to the buckets, the cabinets or most of the other wooden furniture used by now as fire wood, a few scraps remain, any windows without curtains (near garden) are tinted. The shiny black plating, and the windmills are for electricity being solar panels, and well yeah wind turbines, the two giant boxes are storage cells or giant batteries, they were what were running those bulbs before. You can probably guess to the other stuff. any questions on the environment feel free to ask. |

Madden peers through into this new place, and starts edging back... Realizing he is the biggest of the party, he takes a deep breath and takes the lead. Moving into the middle of the room he waits for the others to offer up any relevant information.

"We must have wandered into one of Madden's delusions. I do feel sorry for you, having to deal with this all of the time." Rhea follows behind the man. "So if you could kindly wake up, I'd like to get back to where stuff makes sense."

The gnome was hopping around on his one foot, the burning door had worn through the remaining thin leather on his boot, and burnt the bottom of the poor gnomes foot, to the point where he had to sit down, nursing the burnt foot. |

Rhea hides her smile and chuckle to herself, quite pleased to see the backlash from Oscar's latest gnomish foot picking attempt.

Mcderth looks at Oscar for a moment, then just shakes his head and starts moving around the room.. What are you honestly thinking this is all about? He asks Rhea as he passes her. He keeps an arrow knocked and looks around the room taking in all the new and strange things. He even moves the curtain slightly to try and see anything outside.

Mcderth comes back to the group after staring out the window with food, firewood, and some blankets. He sets the firewood down into one of the circled off sections of tiles. Last edited by frailmage; 11-09-2008 at 11:40 AM. |

Mcderth drops the supples down by the firewood. Then takes a seat and seems to be thinking to himself.

Madden moves to the next door and leans against it seeing if it will move. He then examines the door taking his time(20).
