Walking into town with the merchant caravan Krogar looked forward to getting a pint of ale at the local watering hole. Taking a moment to dust off his gray cloak and wipe his face with the edge of it. Looking about the town he stopped for a moment to take in all the building having green roofs. Wow, that's pretty interesting. Must have been a sale on green tile. Ha, ha! Chuckling to himself at his own joke a stray thought crosses his mind. Huh, it's been about a month since we left Waterdeep. And you know what means... time for some ale.
__________________After the caravan stopped and began unloading Krogar went up to the caravan master and got his pay for the trip. And then he heads off in search of the local watering hole. And it was during this search that he came across the note posted up on a wall. Ripping it down he went over twice just to make sure that was what it said. Hot damn! This is just what I am looking for! And it's at an inn. I can get some ale and have an adventure! And with that off he went to the Wyvern Watch Inn. Once the stout dwarf reaches the inn he pushes open the front door and immediately heads over to a table and takes a seat, setting his pack down on the ground next to his chair. Taking a moment to order a pint of the local dark, then then fishes out his pipe and pouch of tobacco. Soon the dwarf can be found puffing on his pipe and sipping from his tankard, and for the first time in a month Krogar is content. All that was left was to wait for the man in blue. I just hope that the other who answer the ad aren't of a bad element. Oh well, if they are then I suppose that I could always go back to being a caravan guard. |

Bekka Manami's face is expressionless as she walks into Wheloon. Her eyes dart to and fro as they take in the sights, wondering who that person is or why that person was over there. She had been following a merchant caravan on her way to the city, feeling no need to ask for a ride since some of the individuals with the caravan seemed a little shady, for lack of a better word. Regardless, Bekka was glad that her journey was finally over and she has reached her destination.
__________________"Sai'jo said to find the temple," Bekka thinks as he begins to wander about town, "but I need to make sure my room is ready." Upon finding the tavern, Bekka notices a rather stout dwarf grab a poster off the wall and step inside. Not wanting to scold the shorter humanoid for a rather minuscule act, Bekka instead sighs to herself and steps inside the tavern as well. She immediately walks over to who she hopes is the bartender. "Is my room available? I'm Bekka Manami." |

A horse drawn wagon comes to a stop, and a teenage human female steps down. At first glance, she appears to be just like any other ordinary citizen, but after a moment of concentration, a faint glow of gold is being thrown off her skin. Wearing little more than rags, the only possession the fair haired lady has is a pack, slung over her shoulder, one that is obviously very light weight.
__________________Despite the cool breeze and her lack of sturdy clothing, she is not shivering as one may expect. In fact, she seems perfectly comfortable. Now where did that gnome run off to? she thinks to herself, looking around for her companion. Eyeing him at the back of the wagon, she skips over to meet him. Thank you for the ride Mordoc, it is must appreciated. Don't forget what I told you about that toe either, salt water every night or it will get infected again she says the last part with almost a maternal quality to her voice. Kissing him lightly on the cheek, she heads into the tavern and asks only for some water while she ponders her next move. Sitting in the center of the tavern, her angelic beauty catches the eye of nearly every man, and just as many women, as she sips quietly, humming to herself. She has taken the vessel of water and removed a filter from her sack to place over it while she drinks. The very air around her gives off a calming sensation, and everyone within ten feet of her is compelled to be more relaxed. |

After finishing his first pint of ale Krogar feels much better. In fact it was if a wave of good washed over him. Looking at the tankard quizzically for a moment he shakes his head. Must have been longer than I thought since I have had me a good pint. Looking about the common room he sees what looks like some strange priest in white and some girl wearing some of the shabbiest clothes he has seen this side of the slums of Waterdeep. Stroking his beard in thought he goes to take another swig from his ale and notices that it is already empty. Grumbling to himself he gets up and walks over to the bar counter and knocks on it with rough calloused hands.
__________________Hey barkeep, I could be usin' another pint down here. and then he thinks for a moment and slaps the ad down on the counter. And you wouldn't happen to know anything about this here notice would ya? Like what time this man in blue shows up around here? Also is there anyone else, like an adventuring company asking around about it? Now seeing the priest in white near to him the dwarf offers a simple gruff nod. Bah, not hard on the eyes but way too tall. |

Barkeep
A beautiful young lady of about average height with long black hair tied into a ponytail stands at the bar making drinks. As you walk up to her she stops and gives you a beautiful smile.Hello. My name is Asanta Mhaerkoon. I will have to check my books miss Manami was it? She bends down to check something under the counter when a dwarf comes up and begins knocking on the bar counter. Asanta raises back up and looks at him kindly while he speaks.
The ale is coming right up,let me get this nice lady squared away. She says very politely. As she listens to the rest of the dwarfs questions she hands Bekka a log book and pen. Sign here please, as she points at the first available line. A room is 1 silver a night, she says with a smile to Bekka. Turning to the dwarf she replies "I know the notice was posted up yesterday and that T.D shows up about 6 every evening.Nobody has been asking about it yet that I know of,you will just have to wait until T.D shows up." She smiles at the dwarf with a big grin. |

Tabatha as you are sitting and taking everything in you glance over and in the far corner you see a middle aged woman that looks really distraught. Her hair is messed up and her eyes look as though she has been crying for quite some time. She just looks around and notices all the newcomers and it makes her noticeably more nervous. She watches the two newcomers at the bar very carefully and looks as though she may bolt from the place at any moment.

Krogar Stonefire
As the bartender responds to his questions Krogar strokes his beard in thought nodding mostly to himself. Upon hearing that nobody has responded yet a big smile breaks across his face. Ha, ha! Perfect! Well then I shall wait for him over at my table. And thanks for the information. Slapping a gold coin down on the bar counter he offers a wink. For the pint, yeah. And he goes back to his seat, leaving the notice behind on the bar.
__________________For those now taking notice of the stout dwarf he appears to stand a little under 5 feet in height but looks as though he weighs as much as a human half again his height. But that weight isn't fat but instead looks to be heavy set muscle, and the callouses on his hands and tan skin give him away for someone used to swinging a hammer. His red hair is kept short but obviously been cut by himself in a mirror, but his beard goes down to mid chest in length is tied up in a braid that looks to be made up of three smaller braids. He is wearing a soft greenish grey cloak over what looks like a tabard style chain shirt over a chain mail and studded leather skirt which hangs down to mid shin. From underneath the skirt peeks out blue linen trousers bloused into brown suede boots which are worn and travel stained. Around his wait is a heavy leather sword belt from which a finely made dwarven waraxe hangs from a loop, and a quiver of arrows on the opposite side. As he sits back down at his table and puts his feet up on another of the chairs set there you notice a heavy wooden shield made of darkwood obviously of dwarven make resting beside a worn brown leather travel pack. Beside that is the matching helm to his armor, a standard open faced helm with a steel nose bridge, two small horns poking through the forehead, and a red crusaders plume on the top. Taking in the common room again Krogar packs and lights his pipe again, having already set his feet up on another chair he leans back in his seat and puffs on his pipe his face the pinnacle of contentment. Glancing up at the woman, Tabatha looks to her drink and takes a sip. Then, she proceeds to maneuver herself around the bar so that she comes up on the woman from the side, trying to let her aura wash over her before she approaches the distraught woman. Beaming a calming smile, she steps up to her table May I? she asks nicely, gesturing towards the chair.

The autumn breeze carried the sounds of a bustling community to his ears as Nalor and his companion crested the hill on the far side of Wheloon. The sun shines down on the grass leaving just enough heat to make the day seem bright and pleasant.
__________________“Well my friend it is time once again, I do not enjoy these trips into the city. But I cannot make arrows with out arrow heads.” the druid says. The wolf Kasim looks up at him with low growl. “I know, you dislike these places more than I. Go on then, go find something interesting to do whilst I am in town. I will call for you when I have finished.” And with that the playful wolf rubs his head against his friends leg and bounds off into the woods. After a few minutes of walking Nalor reaches the entrance to the town, as he passes the gates his eyes scan the street for signs that anyone had recognised him. He soon reaches the market stalls and buys the few supplies he needs for the coming season. The hustle and bustle of the market keeps him vigilant for thieves and other threats. As he walks back from the market he passes an Inn with the sign of a Wyvern, he stops outside struck by sudden memory of this place that is not within his reach. Curious he decides to enter the Inn in hopes that something will jog in memory. The inn was fairly quiet with a few scattered customers. As he approached the bar a dwarf who was on his way back to his table left a note on the bar, unable to resist Nalor reads the note. After ordering something to drink he decides that an adventure would be the perfect opportunity to continue his training and help pass away the winter months. He chooses a table away from the entrance but facing so that he may see those that enter before they might see him. |

"Yes Lustig, I know, I dislike entering the filthy establishments of men too. The cobblestones under foot and the stench of murdered animals fill the air with a pungent smell that makes it hard to remember these are innocents. But you know as well as I do, faithful friend, we have to resupply some times and the easiest way to do that is to trade these worthless discs of metal for the materials we need to survive."
__________________Jayni and her gray wolf entered the town on the main trail leading through town. "Well, Lustig, at least it is a small town. Perhaps we can even escape without one of us running afoul of the authorities this time, eh?" A slight nip at her heel was all Lustig said in response, but it was definitely playful as both remembered the last town they were in. The butcher's wife had offered Lustig a sausage and the butcher, not knowing, had called the authorities. From then it was a fight to keep the town from putting the wild, thieving, beast to death. But that was months ago and, to be quite frank about it, Jayni was a human, and had some human needs that the forest just could not provide! "Eh, well, look at this pal. Some man in blue wants to tell riddles in the inn. Yes, I know..." she replied to Lustig's disparaging look, "...we should hurry on and get what we need, but a good mental puzzle would keep me fresh and we can both use some time in a soft bed before winter sets upon us in force!" Looking at her friend, "Yes, I thought the prospects of a warm bed and good meals would convince you to stay." She entered the Inn and Tavern quietly, walking up to the proprietor without making a stir, or so was the plan, and politely asked how much two places of whatever was boiling in the pot and a place to stay would cost her. She quietly noted anyone in the room that could cause trouble and maneuvered into a position where she could keep an eye on them, without placing herself or her companion in immediate danger should conflict arise. Over on the far side of the room she saw a stout dwarf who was smoking and drinking. To some that would spell danger, to Jayni, that was what was expected. Between the calming effects of the pipe and the effects of the alcohol, she suspected he would not want to start any trouble - though he looked capable of ending trouble should it arise! Another visitor seemed to be pretty spiritual. Not always a sign of the divine, it was comforting to see one at least held to some moral and ethical code, even if it was only in words, and not by deeds. A peculiar young lady seemed to be drawing much attention. If it were not for the throng of admirers about her, Jayni might have felt compelled to go introduce herself. Luckily, she regained her composure thanks, in no small part, to her ingrained lack of interest in people of any race. Sentients generally did more harm than good, it was beasts that were the really civilized people. Wolves never hunted for sport, hawks never attacked without cause, antelope never murdered; but all these things had been done by the so called sentient and civilized species. As she pulled her hood low over her face and wrapped herself tightly with the rest of her cloak, she mentioned to her friend "Interesting place." |

One of the waitresses passed by Nalor, he stopped her and asked if he could have a meal and another drink whilst he waited. Soon after his meal arrived the door opened and a woman entered accompanied by a wolf. By the way that she was dressed and the company she kept Nalor guessed that she was a ranger, another of those who live by natures rules as he does.
__________________As the woman made her way to a table Nalor held his ring in her direction, (no ordinary ring of protection his was also a way of detecting those of the order that hunted him) it showed no colour letting him know she was not of the Watchers. He admired the animal who accompanied the woman as he finished he meal. It looked as though the ranger took good care of her companion and had picked up the habit of speaking to the animal, much as he does with Kasim. Last edited by darkstar; 11-20-2008 at 09:43 AM. |

Distraught Woman
The woman looks up at you with bleary eyes but with relief etched on her face. "Would you please?" As soon as you get seated the woman begins crying again. In between the sobs you are able to make out her story. "My husband has gone missing. He went to work one day and then he simply never returned. I just don't know what to do. All the travelers in this town all want money to help me find him and without him here to work I simply don't have it. Oh I just want to die" the woman wails and it's obvious that she is in alot of grief.

"Lustig, I see you are not without company even here. Shall we go investigate the funny old man pointing his ring at us?"
__________________Jayni stood and walked over to Nalor's table, meanwhile, Lustig went to investigate Kasim in that way canines do. "Any man who is accepted by a wolf pack cannot be all bad. I am called Jayni. How may I address you, sir?" ---Jayni left 1sp, 2cp for the hostess for the room and the food. Last edited by Miyoshi; 11-19-2008 at 03:10 PM. |
