Hall of Heroes

There were a lot of brave and honorable, frightening and terrible, individuals in the Blood War. Few could be said to have been heroes. Here you can post you characters and continue to update them as the War progresses.

Thunar Bjornsen is a young and very impressionable youngster hailing from a very remote part of the northern kingdom. From an early age he learned to keep beat on the drum, horn and finally harp as he sat raptly attending the songs and sagas of the clan story tellers or Skalds. Now he is finally old enough to see some of the things he has only heard of in tales of travellers and heroes. City's, exotic peoples, the best and worst of civilisation all await in his youthful dreams. Of course once he finds those people and places he will quickly find that the worst part of adventure and even humanity rarely makes it into the stories. He is broad of shoulder, thick of chest and stocky with heritage and youthful muscle though he is not overly tall. His eyes are a sparkling amber ever alive with curiousity and wonder and his hair a mix of copper and golden wheat worn either long and flowing or in a secure topknot. Possessed of the northmen's capacity for adventure and violence he should soon learn the secrets of the berserker or barbarian as well as the training he has recieved in Skaldic or bardic arts. Quick with a smile or joke or flirtatious quip he is an active attention seeker and performer. He carries with him a small altar to his ancestors as well as personal icons to link him with Dolim when he is sober enough to pray

Description: Vern is a 5'6, 180lb man with serious eyes. He has a calm demeanor and is extremly knowledgeble. He carries a heavy mace on his back and walks with a quarterstaff in hand at all times. http://www.rpgcrossing.com/view.php?id=76374

Personality: When he encountors other's, he tries to guess as much as possible about them, just for the sake of knowledge. He dislikes barbarians because of their tendency to simply smash any problem the encounter instead of trying to think things through. He has respect for psions and the like, but would never journey down that path himself because of his brother.

Background: Vern was born in a small, nameless village in the south. As soon as he could, Vern left and began to wander. He bumpted into a psion/cleric of Dolim and began his training in the ways of knowledge and light. As he trained, he ran into his brother, Dro. Dro had recieved training as a kineticist and, after a heated arguement about Vern's departure from the village, Dro left and Vern vowed never to be like his brother.

After this encounter, Vern finished the first part of his training and was tasked by his master to learn as much about the world as possible using his own senses. Vern accepted this task and set about traveling the world. He heard that a group of refugees need protection as they traveld and decided to join them in order to learn more.

Aiseil, the Mind of Time

Aiseil's 5' 11" form is crowned with a thick red tuft of untamed shaggy hair. At only 173lbs., is body is nearly as slender as that of an elf, and his musculature is hardly defined. His exceptionally hairy eyebrows are short and arc over wide, chocolate-dipped eyes; their focus always seems a bit off-centered. His nose carries an aristocratic hump while his pink lips spread as a jovial curve into his ruddy cheeks. His delicate left ear is pierced at the lobe with a simple silver stud. A dull yellow bandanna is tied loosely at his neck to create a roguish impression. His clothing-roughly made with canvas and roughly matching his hair in color-is roughly stylized as the outfit of a monk. A short robe serves as his shirt and loose, slightly baggy pants are held up with a orange sash. His pants legs are tucked into his well-worn leather boots. A simple cloak of brown is draped across his shoulders with a king's regalia.

Aiseil is a touch more extroverted than the many others that possess his same gifting as a seer. Still, he isn't one to spurt off at conversation. Since his re-making he has continued his unobtrusive friendliness and happy demeanor. He does not tend to be awkward in social situations and, despite his minor foresight ability, has remained largely optimistic. He also remains extremely calm under pressure, which is more than likely once again due to his clairvoyance. Because of his general affability most would think him to be human.

Born in the large capital city, Matthew is a part of a long lineage of knights. His father taught him from a young age the secrets to combat, spicing in teachings of morality and honor. His father, a knight of the Clan King himself, was sent to war with the Crimson Empire when Matthew was fifteen. A few months later, he was sent home on top of his shield. Matthew's mother, Sharyn, fell into his arms and weeped bitterly as Matthew stared into the distance, wondering, Is this real? Can my father truly have died in this war? Eventually, a single tear rolled down his cheek as well, though he wiped off immediately, hoping not to betray his emotions to anyone. He approached the local military general and told him, "I am here to carry the legacy of my father."

The man understood completely and had him trained with one of the best soldiers to survive the war. Matthew's father had left behind a decent sum of money, enough to take care of Sharyn for quite a while.

After many months of training with his father's sword and shield, he approached his mother and told her, "It is time for me to leave. The Clan King has requested my service in the war."

His mother made no reply, but openly weeped for him, as he left his home for the last time.
The next day, Matthew was sent to battle. He saw horrible atrocities and slayed many men. After many years of periodic combat, he was relieved of regular service and given honor as he was granted reign as one of the free knights. His duties changing from direct orders, to an oath of loyalty to his king and his clan.

The next day, Matthew set out to preform his new duties, upholding order and the will of the Clan-King wherever he could.

A towering 6'5", Matthew often seems to be a larger than life character. He is consistently stoic in character, concealing his emotions beneath an air of happiness and his code of honor. For all his code of honor, he loves revelry and the drink. He loves to have a good time, despite his stoic attitude. He is very personable and outgoing, loving to conversate and interact with others. He is very He is a rather handsome man, and gives a reassuring feeling to all with even a gaze, the same gaze that strikes terror into those that seek to hinder the Clan-King or what is right. He holds his father's sword and shield, holding both sentimental and practical value as he combats the evil around him.

Unfortunately, Matthew has a bit of a darkside. His fondness for the drink often takes him to bad places... places where he remembers the horrors of the war, and the atrocities that were committed.

Darryn Blackthorne-Ranger
male half elf
Chaotic Goodmuch
Appearance
Darryn is 5' 9" weighing 164 lbs. His shoulder length hair gleams like golden sunripened wheat. He has his mother's eyes, deep green like large emeralds lit from within. His build like most half elves is a pleasing blend of sturdy musculatur of humans but smoothed with the graceful elegance of an elf.

Personality

Darryn is quiet most of the time. He prefers to hold his opinion until people's actions have declared their true nature. He drinks little and talks less of his past. But will answer most questions about his background. Like many rangers, is reserved but does not hesitate to speak up or act in the face of injustice, destruction or evil.

Darryn grew up in a Ranger Stronghold known as the Eagle's Aerie. It is in the Forests between ***** and the *****. His father was an Companion of Ranger Lord Elrod Windsplitter.

His father was Jacyn Blackthorne, a warrior and weaponsmith by trade retired when his Adventuring Company disbanded to other pursuits as well. Tho Elrod's decision to establish a Stronghold in middle of hostile and largely unknown territory made for an interesting retirement.

In the course of settling things down as his father put it. He met an elven Druidess named Lorelei Hawkwing. She picked him as a companion for the festivities for MidSummer's Eve on a dare from a friend.

Jacyn was struck by the woman's beauty and grace. And he spent the evening with with her. they talked of many things and he quicky realized. That this was an exceptional woman, an elf no less.

With the boldness that humans are known for among elves and truth be told Jacyn even moreso. When at evening's end, Lorelei said jokingly. That perhaps she would choose him once the following year. He said she would...because as his wife it would be only proper. And he leaned forward to kiss as he stroked her cheek.

The outraged Druidess slapped him hard and denounced him for a fool. And that the Abyss would be covered in wildflowers and be populated with butterflies before she married him.

The Druidess then smoothly changed into her winged form of a peregine hawk and streaked away.

The following year at the begining of the Mid Summer's Eve Feast, they were married. Afterwards Elrod quipped, he knew they would be married or one would kill the other. It had been an interesting courtship to watch...from a distance.

The Warrior and the Druidess settled in at the Aerie with he serving as a skilled craftsman of weapons. And his wife creating and tending a sacred grove within Elrod's territory.

Most unions as this see only one child if any. Remarkably and some say incredibly. Jacyn and Lorelei were blessed with four children. Quentin the oldest, twin sisters Corelia and Leilani and little brother Jorinngyll.

Darryn for a time, seemed to lean to toward taking the Oath of the Sickle. But at 14 years of age , he became restless and awestrruck by Solin . A wandering Hero that had saved his parents life before he was born.

After being tutored in the ways of the Ranger. At the age of eighteen, he went to his father and said he wanted to leave the Aerie.

Both parents were understanding and gave their blessing. His father gifted him with the best twin short blades and longbow in his shop. His mother gave him a pendant with the sigil of his Forest Goddess. A keepsake from her grandfather, a Great Druid known for his wisdom and powers.

Darryn said farewell to his younger siblings and left home.

Darryn takes a jobs as a caravan guard to duild up a little money. He will frequently collect his pay at the end of the job and disappear into a nearby forest to explore and hunt. A fair number of innkeepers found Darryn on their doorstep with fresh meat to exchange for room and board for a short stay.
