I've found the game... and the thread with links to the cheat-sheet rules, but remember - these were all from before the books were published, so I don't know how up-to-date they are. |

you can mark with DC and attack (DCing is a minor action), however, if you do not attack the DC target, or move adjacent to them, by the end of your turn, the mark disappears, and you cannot use DC the next round. Quote:

I guess we need to adopt the new rules, but undoing the action would be kinda hard...Can you live with its (very effective) use? Or would you like it back, with a penalty? (my suggestion: take whatever damage you dealt to the kobold. I cannot remember what it was, but its easy enough to look up). An extra body on the grounds would make a reasonable amount of difference, i believe... |

I find it quite funny that the Leaders have, in an organised fashion set up a tight defensive circle and dealt with things in an orderly manner, whilst the Strikers have all shot off to random corners of the map on their own mini missions.

The defenders kinda did the same thing too. Guess we are breaking the stereotype

yah, I feel for ya, Boots...it is annoying that WotC let so much stuff through their fingers and into the published material. I also wonder - what are we meant to do, scribble notes on our books? They could at least give out pdfs that we could print / stick over incorrect stuff...

There's also tactical sense behind it. Every Striker benefits, in some way, by mobility. If we form a tight pack, we get overwhelmed. Whereas defenders and Leaders don't move, 'nor do they need to. In fact, leaders have a huge benefit from being within 5 squares of each other, while Defender abillities work better if their Marks actually have a choice in who they attack Now, what the controllers end up doing will be interesting. |

How do other people understand the in-battle Intimidate skill? Surely the kobolds are hostile, so they get a +10 to their will save -- but do they also have to be bloodied in order for a successful Intimidate to scare them away from battle? Or is it more of a role-playing call whether they run if they fail their save (at any time)? I'd just go ahead and have her scream at them, but don't want to waste a standard action on a lot of hot air.

I don't understand it at all - haven't so much as looked at it, to be honest. But unless there are extreme circumstances (Such as a particularly cowardish enemy), I don't think Intimidate should be allowed to scare them away from battle. Demoralizing in 3.5e was decent.

I think it's a pretty interesting skill (which is why I wanted to try it out)... Why not be able to scare people away during battle? I can understand getting terrified enough, with my life in mortal danger, to simply turn tail and run. Or maybe I'm just a coward at heart.

In combat, you can use it as a standard action (that is, instead of an attack!). Yes, enemies will get a +10 bonus to their defence, and it is only really applicable to bloodied foes. If you beat their increased will, though, a bloody foe will give in / run away / otherwise be beaten.
