I don't believe so. I think he's on the brink of death, but not actually dead.

Zeppo007, yes, he died. I just forgot to take him off of the map before I saved it.

Hey I'm just wondering but did you add 1 to all my attack rolls because I became bloodied? I didn't think it would happen so I didn't include it in my post, thats the price of arrogance I guess.

I didn't and since it's actually going to make a big difference, I've edited the post to reflect the actual results.

Hey Book, just so you know, the Second Wind ability is normally a Standard Action. The only exception is a Dwarf racial that makes it a minor.

Well hot dog...finally I do some damage.
Thanks for the loan of the dice Silverlake. That challenge should keep the heat off Patrin for a bit Book if you need it I can use my healing ability but I'd like to try and save it for as long as possible.

Woops sorry about that guys, if you can't tell yet I'm new to 4e. But I'll go back in and change it. Don't use your lay hands on yet only use it if i get down below 5 or so. You only get like 2-3 a day right?

Only once until I raise my wisdom score when I reach level 4 (which is why I want to adjust my scores so I can pick up another healing ability<-see the character creation thread for more on this). I also have my Daily attack power that even if I miss will let someone spend a healing surge.

So, yeah, uhm, game-changer. As noted in the summary post, this is where I'm going to need some help, being new.

It sounds like I get three roll fails then Pat dies, and I need to roll a 20 to become conscious. I am also just at zero so that is very lucky for us and the goblins. I wouldn't mind lay hands on now btw. Death may not scare Pat but it sure as heck scares me.

I guess my questions concern:
__________________(1) What bonuses, if any, you get to the roll? I mean, does fortitude or will apply here? (2) I know you get one healing surge per encounter, but can you use that in an unconscious state? (3) Is there anything else with this set of circumstances that I should be aware of? Granted, I haven't reviewed this recently (I plan on doing that when I'm at home later); it's just stuff I was thinking about. -a |

About r1.3:
The AoO wouldn't happen if Elliot's course went like thus: (6, 9) to (5, 10) to (5, 11) to (6, 12). Basically, he makes a tight circle around that little engagement, but only ends his movement adjacent to a foe. If he took the most direct route to (6, 12), he would provoke when passing from (6, 10) to (6, 11). I'd wager very highly that Elliot would have circled around to attack B2 without giving him a free shot. Death. It is the suck. Patrin, at the end of His turn, will roll a Save. If that roll is a 20, YIPPEE, spend a Surge and get HP back. If he rolls an 11-19, he remains unconscious but doesn't slip closer to dying. If he rolls a 10 or lower, he slides one step closer to death. Three failed Death Saves before an Extended rest means the character dies. Now, should he continue to take damage while down, it won't affect his save. However, should he take enough damage to go to his Bloodied value (As a Negative Number), he dies as well. So for example, if one of the two goblins continued to beat him while unconscious, he'd be in bad shape. (Coup de Grace is nasty.) I should point out that while Unconscious and dying, the only thing Pat can do on his turn, is make a Death Save. On the flip side, if Book changes his action around to have taken his Second Wind instead of attacking, he would get a Surge worth of HP AND +2 to his Defenses until his next turn. Which may/may not affect the attack rolls this round, though I think the Goblins would go before him anyway. Note for the group: With the seriously high Reflex defense on these Goblins, I will probably not be much help. Missing with a 16 was disheartening to say the least, but I'll do what I can. |

It also occurs to me, if the Goblins knock Pat down *before* his turn comes up, he will get to make his first save this turn.
