The following is a detailed character creation guide for the Thayan Connection.

If players have any queries about creating their character, that the guide does not answer, please post them in the ooc thread.

Character Creation Information Player Total Level/ECL: 10 For savage species character types, do note that your ECL is your racial HD + your LA + classes you take. If you have not completed your HD+LA progression than of course you have not yet attained any classes. Player Total Starting Experience Points: 48,000 This xp score is to facilitate crafters to gain items at lower costs but at the expense of xp. If your character does not have relevant crafting feats, you cannot craft the items you want. The xp bonus is also for your in depth and excellent background stories. Ability Scores: Purchased using 32 pts Point Buy Before racial adjustments, and than do not forget to add +1 to the stats you want at levels 4 and 8. Race: Your Race Races from the PHB, FRCS, and RoF can be taken without consultation (this includes the Tanaruk, Wemic, Yuan Tai). Races from any other sources (including relevant other FR sources) must be run by Simkin for consideration. Alignment: LG, NG, CG, CN only. Alignment prerequisites can be lifted for certain PrCs on a case by case basis. This being a mature game, with good intentions on the players part, evil characters are approved on special consideration only, to ensure game balance and no childishness on the part of the PC. Hitpoints: Max for first HD/Level. Thereafter roll for every other HD/Class level. Minimum hitpoints per hd/class level is half hd+1 Starting Funds: 50,000 gp Maximum expenditure of 20,000gp on a single item Bonus Feat: All players gain a Bonus Regional Feat at their first character level. This is indeed an extra feat, and must a feat from the characters region. These feats are available in FR sourcebooks, but please check the Players Guide to Faerun for the updated ones. Books Allowed: - Core Rules (3.5e PHB, DMG, MM) - Completes (Adventurer, Arcane, Divine, Mage, Scoundrel Warrior) - Draconomicon - Forgotten Realms 3.5 Books (most! Dragons of Faerun is currently not allowed) - Heroes (Battle, Horror) - Libris Mortis - Lords of Madness - Magic Item Compendium - Planar Handbook - Players Handbook II - Races (Destiny, Stone, the Dragon, the Wild) - Savage Species - Spell Compendium - Tome of Battle This will be a non-psionic game, so even if you see a mind flayer, it will be using the FR base style of a non psi flayer. Books not listed above, are in general not allowed, but can be considered on a case by case basis. All players will be given their own secret journal. Character Sheets, background information and the like should be placed in the first post the player makes, before starting his next post to respond to the story within the journal.
