And keeping a melee weapon at the side is a good idea, but with my Strength as my second-to-dump stat I'd probably do well to take weapon finesse at a much later level, maybe when I don't qualify for a ranged feat or something. I do have a question for the DM: I have three ranks in Craft (Weaponsmithing). Would I be able to roll continuously for my weapons as if I had crafted them myself? I know it takes a week for a craft check, but I was wonderring if I could do this for my weapons and say that it was all pre-game time. I wouldn't do this for my hand crossbows because I couldn't make them with three consecutive 20s on craft rolls, but for, say, a light crossbow and longsword? 1,3,4: You can shoot, then take a round to reload, then shoot again. Like you are using a single heavy crossbow. So you can fire two bolts every other round...
or do 1,2,3.

I'm leaning towards 1,2,3, but I wanna use a light crossbow and have a longsword at my side, hopefully the DM will let me roll for craft checks (I realize most people could do so like a wizard with 18 int, but I figure it might be allowed since I actually put ranks into it).

Or, if quinn was down with it, you could take your second level fighter bonus fear at 1st level, instead of at second. You'd be a bit unbalanced, but athen is already playing an aasimar bard (Ecl 2) so I don't think it would be that big an issue.

No need for all the ranting, I will be back. I have to many games that I'm in to disaper from the face of the earth. Trust me I hate not starting the game for 2-3 weeks as much as you guys do.

Should I do craft rolls to see how much I spend on a light crossbow and longsword?
And I don't mean to rant, I'm just trying to decide what to do with my character. I've decided to minimize losses and use a light crossbow for a level. Okay, paid 2/3 the price for the crossbow and 1/3 for the longsword. Sorry for the numerous posts but when I miss by 4 or less that just wastes a week, and pregame time is twenty years for Adam.
