Yes, the DM awarded 1000 exp for staying while he went on vacation. And now he's back and we're one big happy family. Except the DM is more of a Grim Reaper than a father figure and we all pretend to like each other for treasure.

So essentially we're like one big regular family.

@echo - you forgot feats, although if you're not a fighter that doesn't matter. Also, if you have a familiar or other "pets", they get bonuses as you get better also. Other than that I think you covered all your bases.

i'm not 100% sure about this, but does athen level? I know he was originally an aasimar, and they have a +1 LA, so i thought that a level 1 aaismar bard would actually have 1000xp, like a normal level 2 character?

I think it's he starts with 0xp and needs to get to 3000xp to reach his next character level (he has the +1 LA which in essence says you are 1 level higher. So he is like a lvl 2 character with 0 exp. He gains 1000, but he won't level up until he gets 3000.

I "think" that's how it works, but the dm will have to chime in

That idea sounds better than any other I can up with. We will use that.

I need a way for you guys to alert the army, so here is what I came up with. There is a bird that acts like a carrier pigeon, but instead of attaching a message to it all you need to do is release it and it will head back to the encampment and alert the army.

But I already leveled, can we just ignore the LA and pretend that I'm simply level 2 now, I'm not really much better than a core race at all.

@Athen, that's the whole point of picking an LA race. They are +1 for a reason so they get the level penalty. it would be like me picking a goliath and getting no penalties for it. It's the DM's decision ultimately, but to be fair to everyone I think you should take teh penalty your race gives you.

And a great way to start the fight with my mighty 1. Go team !!!
