Actually Heal checks don't work that well. It's DC 15 to stabilize in one round, DC 15 to treat caltrop wounds in one round, and DC 15 to provide long term care, which heals double HP during periods of rest. Basically if you're sleeping you recover 1 HP per level for 8 hours of rest, 2 for 24 hours of rest. But HP damage on the battlefield? That's purely spellwork. Which I find odd, because Clerics and other divine spellcasters are better off just using healing spells instead of long-term care checks. Ahh well, 6 hp is doable with a CLW.

Another point: The save DC of a poison or disease is its heal check DC. So, make a hairy heal check that could fail, causing more ability damage, or, I dunno, cast Remove Disease or Remove Poison?? At least the skill isn't as useless as profession...

Well when I DM table top I actually doc xp for metagaming and make people roll heal check to determin how injured a person with these as a result. Failure is obviously a failure. a success roll of DC 15 gets the checker this: slightly Injured (less then half of total HP) Injured (Half - 3/4 of total hp) Bloodied (over 3/4 of HP)

I like the idea of having to pass a heal check to determine how hurt a group member is. It’s lot easier to do over tabletop, where you can resolve the matter in a few seconds. Here on the forums it could take and entire day just to get back and forth.

With that said, I'm going to keep hp damage secret for now on... Meaning that each player will know how damaged their PC is, but they won't have a clue how damaged a group member is without some kind of heal check.

In order to keep the game moving, I'll try to be a little more descriptive with regards to injuries in my update posts, so you will probably be able to guess who needs healing just by reading the post. Always feel free to use your skill checks though, especially the cool ones like heal, diplomacy, intimidate, and so forth… Ohh yeah, sense motive is a good one too!

Aye, Dragonlance type world but not Krynn. It is about a set of twins (Brother/Sister) and their struggles through life and their adventure... Don't want to give to much away...lol

The best part it is the twins are actually D&D toons I played way back when and kept all my notes from the adventures. All the other people they run across are bascially other toons of mine.
