With dead bodies all around him and the dull roar of the chaos that enveloped the city still in his ears An Ruiyi was not about to let down his guard. Since his newfound companion seemed to enjoy talking so much Ruiyi decided he would like her address the man's bizarre questions as the former scout looked for any way past the man through the thick fog while keeping an eye on the strange cloaked man, watching for any signs of danger. |

Lei hasn't seen this guy before and now he's just being a tosser. She brings Long up beside Light and says simply,"You have not yet answered my question. You have one more chance to explain yourself in the same octave."

Meiqin had an aversion to well travelled roads. They always felt off, those wide streets that could fit people going both ways. A nomad made her own trail, and always went to those places where the least people might bother her...And so the alleyway it was. For all she knew, that stomping had been made by some fleeing civilian....

Reichin's sword flew at the mans neck and tore through the flesh, making it impossible for the man to breathe. His next attack served more to help him pull his sword out then to help kil the already dying man. He pulled his weapons out from the limp body and watched it fall to the ground. Turning around Reichin looked to see if there were still any threats nearby. Pulling his swords back to react to whatever came at him next Reichin slowly moved through the fog.

Anming looked at the woman, back at the bandits, then back at the woman agian. What he was seeing didn't make any sense at all. Somehow both of them were scared, although he could not comprehend what it was. Were they scared of him? Some lone cleric who tried to run away?
Suddenly Anming heard the pounding of footsteps from behind the two bandits. It quickly jolted him out of his thoughts. Grabbing the woman's hand he decided to care about that later. "Look, we have to go NOW!" he yelled at her as he made another run for the alley. |

Silence. With the last stroke of Reichin's sword, the area around him grew quiet. The only sound was an unaminous chorus of suffering and pain echoing through the main street. This was how war always ended; people missing a leg, people missing an arm, or people missing their souls. This, most definitely, was not an exception. A small auible voice was heard from the left, a pleading sound. Reichin could make out a shape of human on the floor. "Please sir, could you help me?" A closer investigation revealed that the man was a city's soldier. He was clutching his left arm, which was bleeding heavily from the joint. --------- Meiquin had to give some credit to her personality. So far, it has helped her from engaging into complicated conflicts. But this time, it was not such a case. After following though the twisted alley using the faint scent as a guide, Meiquin saw two familiar men facing away from her. One was a small boy wielding a two-bladed sword in his back with an amused expression in his face. The second was alot taller and he was holding some type of short short in his hand, aiming for something ahead of him. Meiquin took couple of steps forward for a closer look. Suddenly she saw a young man holding a young woman's hand running towards her direction. Behind them was half a dozen of man wearing a yellow bandana and ahead was the boy and the bodyguard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yellow Turbans ---->(30 feet) Woman + Anming (10 feet) <-------> Boy + Bodyguard ? (20 feet) Meiquin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The man, ignoring Lei's comment, sat down on one of the fallen soldiers and closed his eyes. Ruiyi could see something glowing inside the cloak, but he just could not find out what it was. Was it a candle? Around the man was litters of corpses, starting to rot under the heat. A faint smell slowly eroded toward their face. Ruiyi could not see any other alleyway, it looks like the only way pass was going past the man. They could try but would he attack? The cloak stayed still, waiting for them. Last edited by bluejay206; 07-11-2009 at 04:46 AM. |

Anming could only think about running. Behind him, he could hear the shouts and screams of the Yellow Turbans. His breaths came out in short gasps as he tried to suck in more and more air. They were too close. He wasn't going to make it.
Suddenly Anming stopped in his tracks. Right up ahead were a man and a boy, both heavily armed. One was pointing his short sword right in his direction. The other, a mere boy, was weilding a double sword, showing he obviously have some skill in fighting. Noth had a yellow cloth wrapped around them. Anming wanted to groan. It seemed all the invaders in the city had come here. But of course they did; they all probably heard the whistle. Turning so that he faced the closer threat, Anming visibly gulped. He tried to guage the chances of his survival. It wasn't going to be good. Turning back to the woman, he tried his best to smile. "Doesn't look good, eh?" Holding his shield up, he pulled out his morningstar. It felt so heavy in his hands. Licking his lips one last time, he tried to ready himself for any upcoming attacks. |

Meiqin stopped, then looked incredulously at the sight beyond her. So many Turbans...the two caught in between would be slaughtered. But what was that to her? Still, she'd shot the boy, and if she didn't finish him now, he at least, might come after her...When it came to dangerous quarry, one always had to finish it.

Lie looked at her 'partner' then back at the man, who was *sitting on a corpse*. Not just any corpse, but one of the fallen soldiers. This meant disrespect for the dead, the dead who died trying ot defend the city. This puts this cloaked person clearly in line with the 'bad guys' to her mind,"Had your chance.." she quips simply before putting action to words, a step forward and she seeks to run the cloaked fellow through with both Light and Long

Ugh.. The thing inside the cloak cried in pain as Lei slammed her two blades straight through the torso. Some of the black fabric near the area of impact shred under the force, now dyed in some sort of dark, red liquid. The same impact also knocked the cloak down from its sitting position which made his hood fall off, revealling his short brown hair and his face. His face was similiar to a human being, except for one tiny thing. His eyes were blood-shot red. Those same eyes stared back at Lei's while standing up. He grabbed the two impaled blades and tore one of them out of his torso. An incredible amount of anger showed within his face. He lifted his hand toward the belt to withdraw some long weapon. Something weird was engraved in the sword, but Lei could not tell what it was. Slowly the fog around Lei started to disperse, bringing in more sunlight and visibility every minute. What was going on? ---------------- "What the..." The dozen Turbans behind Anming stopped in the track. Their faces were filled with fear. "The fog is gone." A phrase. "The fog is GONE!" The Turban's word were indeed prove to be true as bits and bits of light started to waver into the fog, improving visibility. Something about the absense of fog have disturbed the Turbans, which led them into frenzy chaos, pushing each other to escape the small, cramped alley. Meanwhile, the boy in front of Anming was furious. "You IDIOTS! Don't ruin our plan now! Capture the woman!" At the same time, the arrow from Meiquin's bow found flesh on the boy's left shoulder, causing the boy to splurt out a huge amount of blood from his mouth. He clutched the wound in pain, his left eye half closed. The bodyguard said in concern: "Here, let me..." The boy's face twisted in full anger. He grabbed the bodyguard by the arm and pushed him toward Meiquin's direction. "GO GET THAT WOMAN RIGHT NOW AND BRING HER TO MY FEET!" The bodyguard, shocked at the response, quickly scrambled off toward Meiquin with his sword in his right hand. The boy then charged toward Anming with his double sword and struck him toward his stomach, creating a tear in his armor and his stomach flesh torn and bleeding heavily. The boy swung his sword around to attack again, but Anming's all-out-defense held quite steady, blocking the strike with the tip of his morningstar. Anming sucked in a breath as he felt the blade pierce his flesh. Blood trickled out from the wound, staining his armor a rusty red. He barely lifted his morningstar in time to block the next blow. As he had guessed, the boy was skilled in combat. He could even pierce his magical defenses. Anming tried to think of some plan, but his head was reeling from the damage. Shaking his head, he triec to focus himself.
Anming immediately took a step back from his attacker, trying to distance himself from his attacker. Then he pressed a hand to himself and tried to focus his energies. He took a calm breath and concentrated on his wound. He felt as he positive energies within him start swirling around and around, focusing on the wound. It began mending the broken, restoring it back to full health. Looking foward, he tried to ready himself once agian. |

Skies above, still alive!? Meiqin gaped, then her eyes widened as orders to seize her came. Deciding once again that she wasn't in the mood to be grabbed and manhandled, she squeezed off another arrow, this time at the bodyguard. After that, unsure if the bodyguard was just as tough as the boy leader with that nifty blade. Backpedalling, she tries to put some space between her and the guard...

"Come and attack me, you rascal!"
The boy performed another double slice toward Anming's torso, but his armor held against both of his attacks, only creating couple of dents in the side of his armor. One of the stroke almost sliced through his armor, creating a half-tear on the side. After his execution of moves, the boy coughed another round of blood onto the floor, creating a small pool of red. The damage from Meiquin's arrow was apprently catching up to him. He grimaced as he heard the scream of blood from behind, it was the sound of his fellow bodyguard, an arrow shot right through his heart. The bodyguard crumbled to the floor, still breathing but unconcious. ------------ ... Lei, using the already impaled sword as a cage, struck her second sword right through the same spot once more. This time, the scream was much louder than before, echoing through Lei's body in soft beats. Lei, taking this chance, forced the two blades out of its body to strike once again, but the cloak wasn't in the mood to be struck again. It dodged left to avoid Lei's strike and at the same time, it swung its sword upward towards Lei's head, whom blocked it with her own sword. The man slowly panted in and out as its red eyes looked right at Lei's, his blood dropping slowly onto the floor. |

Meiqin, finding she had stopped the advancing guard, halted her retreat, took aim and fired another shot at the boy with the large blade, Grr...Fall already. Nothing bests my bow and me! She decides to stand her ground, to try to keep the current target of the attacks under less pressure, opening fire once more. Hopefully, this did the fellow in though, because if her turned on her, she migth just find her boast to prove rather empty...
