Derran walks back into the tavern and announces, "Excuse me. Does anyone know exactly which direction the snake problem is? Unfortunately, in the midst of all the surprises, we forgot to ask Captain Perth." |

Hikio stopped in his tracks when he saw there was only backpacks on the cart. He pouted "Awwwww man no armor. So much for epic gear" He took the backpack and went to the cleric not saying a word to listen for a possible response from the tavern's inhabitants

The group heads out the door of the pub. On the outside you can see that it is a small building connected to a much larger building. The smaller being fairly new in construction although matching the older building perfectly in architecture. The wagon is outside with an attached horse, as the Captain had said. The horse is larger than a riding horse. Large muscular frame well suited for pulling heavy loads. Various backpacks in the back. There enough for each of you with 2 extra packs. As you are sorting through all the gear. The dragonborn with no armor is sadly disappoint by the fact there was no armor to be found in the wagon. Quote:

The barkeep smiles broadly. "Yes my niece best archer in Fallcrest" he announces. ""Even so Gladys I want you to promise you will be careful." "I will Uncle Thad... I will." She kisses him softly on the cheek. |

Hikio smirked "So your a archer huh?, I see." He laid back against the tavern wall with his golden scaled tail hanging in between his legs limply "So let me get this straightened up. You lead us to King's road and we help protect you while you kill some swine? Sounds like a good deal don't you all agree?"

"Perfect," says Derran, rubbing his hands together.
__________________He walks back outside and relays the message to the group. "Well, everyone, Gladys has decided to lead us to the part of King's Road with all the snakes on the condition that we keep her safe as she hunts boars. The elf walks up to the wagon and picks up a bag for himself. |

"Yeeeeeah right, we'll follow your ladyfriend, Derran," Semmi remarks with a grin. "Can't wait to see our waitress hunt some pork while we serve and protect! Let's go, then?"
__________________As the group sets off, Semmi walks up to the front of the group. Turning to Gladys, the halfling asks in a low voice: "Missy, did ya'happen to know that other customer who left through the other door, right at the moment we'd accepted the Capt'ns assignment?" A little offended by the dragonborn's comment S'ol walks silently with the rest of the group.
"Be at peace, by the sweaping breath of Bahamut you shall not come by harm while I still live." He says to Gladys with a bow. |

“Yes an archer,” she shot back at the gold dragonborn leaning against he wall, “I won an Archery competition last year.” Gladys gathers her longbow, quiver, long sword. "You sure you can do without me til the morrows nitefall Uncle Thad?" she ask.
__________________"Sure Honey," Thaddeus says, "Just bring back a couple of boars and we should have the pub filled with patrons of the guard. You know how Captain Perth and his men love your Smoked Boar." The Silver Unicorn Pub just opened nearly 4 months ago, when the Owner of the Silver Unicorn Inn decided to add a restaurant feature for her guest. The stern halfling matriarch called Wisara Osterman, in an attempt to compete with the Nentir Inn which opened 4 months before that. Being a higher class and billed as the "Pride of Fallcrest" Nothing but the best was offered at both the inn and the newly connected pub. "Be back by morrows nightfall, the Gods willing, Uncle." Gladys waved a hand and was out the door. She knew her uncle could handle things he was the one that had taught her how to cook. But for some reason Captain Perth insisted when there was boar on the menu that she be the one to prepare it. Outside seeing the mismatch group of adventures she had ever seen with their packs in hand, promising their assistance and downright allegiance to her. Gladys smiled, and returned the bow of the dragonborn paladin. This is going to be an adventure. Her uncle told the cleric and dragonborn that she was the best archer in Fallcrest. It was true she had won an archery competition. But shooting at stationary targets was nothing compared to the hunt. She had spent many of days hunting in the nearby forest, but not for 3 tendays since this snake scare settled over Fallcrest. She hated snakes. "Well then the area where the snakes are is also my favorite hunting grounds for wild boar." She notices the extra packs in the wagon, "Oh good one for me. Captain Perth shouldn't mind if I take one of those." Another soldier walks toward the group eying you. "Good day sirs," he says, "Good to see someone is finally going after those snakes along the kings road." The man pats the horses along the neck. "Good girl, Calliope, lets get you back to the stable." he pulls on the reigns to turn the horse and wagon towards the stables. "That won't be necessary Brayton, I will be borrowing the horse and wagon." injected Gladys. This was the first Brayton notices Gladys standing there, he smiles. "Going for some wild boar again Miss Treewind?" asked the uniformed man. "Aye that I am. I have an escort to assist me, so no snakes will stop me from my quarry." "Very well, I will informed the captain," he let go of the reigns of Calliope, "Good hunting," Brayton walks toward the way he had come. Gladys Treewind tosses her longbow and quiver into the back of the wagon. "Now boys is there anything else you would like to do before we head to Harken Forest?" Quote:

"Nope." He replied simply to Gladys's question. He then turned his head around to face his own group with a sly grin "Anyone else need to go? I don't mind waiting a few more moments."

After checking the contents of the bag, Derran looks up and says, "Nay, I've got everything and am ready to go."

Semmi was walking cheerfully alongside Gladys, not worrying too much about the stranger at the Unicorn Pub anymore. He had his little backpack, a short sword, and his precious daggers hidden everywhere he could. After a boring trip to Fallcrest and the talk at the pub, he was up for some adventure!

“Throw your stuff in the back of the wagon boys and climb in. We have to leave through the Wizards Gate stopping off at the stables first to get feed for ole Calliope. We should make the edge of Harken Forest on the Kings Road by twilight."
__________________You load your gear and pile into the wagon and set off with Gladys at the reigns. The day is warm, no chance of rain. sky blue, visibility great. After a stop at the stables for the feed you approach the Wizard’s gate. A strange old woman steps out into the road, you didn’t see which direction she had come from. Gladys pulls on the reigns to bring the wagon to an abrupt halt. “Take these healing droughts numbering two, use wisely else three you be wishing on the morrow's noon.” She lays the potions in the middle of the road and scurries off with mad laughter. |

Acanthas puts his glaive along the floor of the cart, climbs in and takes a seat near the front. As the cart makes its way to the gate, he watches the town pass by, noting the turns they make. Nearing the gate he chimes in, "So we'll be there around twilight? I hope those kits contains torches or something of the like. Hunting snakes in the dark seems to be a bad idea."
When the lady hands over the droughts, the eladrin looks over to Gladys, "Is that normal?" he asks inquisitively. |

Hikio chuckled a little as the woman left "Crazy little witch. He laughed for a little bit. Then he looked at the healing droughts holding one in his hand. Say now, Doesn't the droughts look to much like a trap?" He asked as he examined it carefully
