The dwarf was itching to get away from the royals as soon as the information they needed was gathered and to be off and doing the work of actually hurting the greenskins and liberating all of the people from their oppressed position! |

The gnome had been sitting silently, content to let the others do the talking. For the most part, they'd already asked all of his questions, and things were beginning to make sense. Since he wasn't sure at first exactly what he wanted to say, but he felt that he ought to say something eloquent, that would re-assure the royalty that he was on their side, Dwain took a fair amount of time to formulate his response. "My hatred of the filth skinned ones that have taken our lands and oppressed our people is deep. Your majesties can rely on me to fulfill my part with enthusiasm. But I would like to know, of all of us here, whom shall be our leader? For surely, there must be one who shall decide the final course of action, after all have had a chance to voice their tactical opinion."

Hiroki stands up straight, turns to the other 'elected' champions and gives a clean, 90 degree bow. I am Hiroki Kono, my family and I have served the royal house for many generations as Samurai. It's an honor to meet you all, I have heard rumors and tales of your various exploits from runners and messenger carriers. I hope I do not disappoint you all. As he finishes, he raises himself and looks at both the newly assembled party and the royalty they stand before. Last edited by L0stTh0ught; 10-04-2009 at 04:34 AM. |

Erulasse nods politely to Hiroki, then turns to face the others as well. "I am Erulasse. My House is that of Mendomielar. I have served as a scout to my own people for many years even as the elves reckon it, and I know the ways of the woods." She adds after a moment, with some reserve, "It will be an honour to serve with you all."

Looking to each other, That is something that you must decide amongst yourselves. Choose a leader or simply choose to move via majority rule. Talk to each other get to know each other and decide from there what you as a group think would work best With these final words you are shown to the dinning area were food and drink has been laid out for everyone to eat

Craetor was silent as they were escorted out of the room, which he left without bowing to the royalty and turning his back on them as he walked out. [I]Damn all pompous ceremony anyway! Why should they be treated so greatly![/B] He kept his dignity wrapped around him as he walked down the short hallway to the dining area. His dwarven nose twitched as the smells of food started to waft down the corridor in their direction.
__________________He turned to one of the pages, or guards, or whomever were escorting them and said curtly: "Thank ye for takin' us here. Now would ye be so kind as to get these maps yon kinglets were referring to?" The only thing he had to say to them said Craetor stumped over to the where the food was laid out. Looking over it he decided on a hunk of roast fowl of some kind and a goblet of elven wine. While you may think the tastes would clash, Craetor was of the opinion that two goods could not make a wrong in terms of taste. As he sat at the table he took a sip from the goblet before setting it on the table. His beady little eyes looked out of his mass of hair and beard and glared at the gnome who had spoken up in the courtroom. "Now why would ye go brin' up leaders for? There be few enough o' us that we c'n get along fine wit'out leaders. Never have I seen a leader appointed who did not then run things arbitrarily wit'out reference to 'is companions." |

Now that the formalities are over, Erulasse seats herself gracefully, pausing for a moment to murmur an elven formality over the meal, before eating hastily. She has known hunger too often to pass up a good meal when there's a chance of one - at any moment she might be called away and need to act. It might have been prudent for a leader to have been set over us - but perhaps the gnome does not understand the nature of the situation. For, what manner of leader would elves, dwarves and men all accept over them? Each one would refuse the commands of the other - yet perhaps, as he is a gnome, he might not see that. Hmm. Aloud, she says quietly, laying down her bread roll, "Since you have spoken, gnome, I think perhaps I would advise you to volunteer yourself as leader. Times are hard enough that our peoples have come together - but they are perhaps not yet so hard that we might accept each other over us in command. So I would say to you, as a race apart, that your leadership might not be an unwise choice. If you choose to take this up, know that I would best serve you scouting ahead for the party, and I fight best when I have room to skirmish. Privately, she adds to herself, Besides, anything is better than that insufferable kin of mine volunteering himself. If that is the arrogance that the other kinds think is customary, then little wonder they think so ill of the People. What she says aloud instead is, "Yet you have the advantage of me. What is your name, and what are your skills in this?

Turning to Craetor, she says, "You make a fair point, good dwarf, yet it is often of use to have one voice instead of many in time of crisis. Yet I will abide by the group's decision in this." With this, she turns back to eating, pulling apart her bread roll with slender elven fingers, watching and listening.

Hiroki looks to one of the servants, and asks, May I have a cup of Roasted barley tea? Thank you. With that, he begins to pile food neatly onto his plate and sits down to eat. After Erulasse has spoken, he finishes what's in his mouth and speaks up. You both make good points, I just want it to be known that I follow the will of the lords and ladies that appointed us with this task. So leader or not, I will carry out our orders. If we are to elect a leader, I nominate Erulasse. She has experience, both, with dealing the Orcish menace and the outdoors that beats anyone here by at least a century. That and the fact that she is willing to abide by the group's decision shows wisdom and temperance.
__________________Done speaking, Hiroki raises his cup to the scout, then, he hunkers down and begins to eat. Much to the surprise of all, he finishes his plate in a matter of seconds, which is no small feat when you consider his plate consisted of: one turkey leg, a serving of bangers and mash, half a loaf of bread, three baked potatoes, and a hefty pile of mixed greens which had to be served on another plate for lack of room. All the while maintaining etiquette and manners. When his plate was cleared he got seconds, while drinking his seventh cup of tea. Last edited by L0stTh0ught; 10-05-2009 at 09:48 PM. |

After a short while one of the guards brings you in a map and lays across the table. Before he leaves it points out a few of the important markers.

Firavel says nothing while debating leadership, eating in peace while looking over the others. "No man, or woman, lords over Firavel. I will not turn away advice, but I will also not be told what to do like an imbecile commoner." He speaks lowly but clearly for all others to hear.
When the map is presented he looks it over with a well trained eye. "For my part I say we strike the closest camp quickly, retreat with what slaves we rescue, and hit another target some distace away. Should we all be able to obtain mounts then we could be an efficient strike force, and there is no way the dumb brutes could follow our path. We just have to make sure they don't follow us right back to one of our own camps." His abrasive demeanor lessens a bit as he is more in his element discussing tactics. |

Craetor took another few bites from his food while the others were talking. When the arrogant of the two elves finished his little remark, he chortled. "So, Erulasse was it? Ye say in one minute tha' ye wan' a leader, an' in th' next ye tell tha' leader wha' it is ye will do. If tha' holds, yer leader is no leader. So why should there be one? We be a small enough group, I see no need fer a leader. An' 'is most excellent lordship there also 'as a point, even if he concealed it: we are all capable, there be no need for a leader to 'old our 'ands."
__________________The cleric took another sip from his goblet of elf wine to re-wet his throat. After doing so he looked back at the map that was sprawled across the table around which the party sat. He shook his head slightly and ran a hand along his beard as if thinking. "Nay, Firavel. I think that ther' may be a bet'er plan. Or at least an evolution o' yers. It would seem to me tha' our enemy is th' greenies, nay so? I say if so, we should target them. Travel their patrol routes an' hit the guards at the camps. But we keep moving around, ne'er returning to a rebel camp unless dire circumstances force our hand. Any slaves as we free are free and may go as they wish. They are not beholden to join the rebellion of these kinglets." |

Finished with his third, equally large plate of food, Hiroki puts down his fork momentarily and speaks,
__________________She did not say that she wanted to be leader, she merely suggested that someone else take on the mantle of responsibility that leadership requires. What she did was voice her opinion, then stated quite clearly that she would go with the will of the group. Considering the fact that we have two votes against a leader, and two abstains, it is quite clear that what the answer is. With that he drains the last of his twentieth cup of tea, and then resumes speaking, My opinion, on the strategy we should pursue, although time consuming, is to head to the slave camp that is southwest from the one in the center, right here. He points to the encampment that is situated where the river seems to avoid it by curving south and west before head north again. From there, should we prove to be successful, we would then have at least an inkling as to the strengths of these camps, although I'm sure as we continue they would begin to strengthen security. Anyway, from there, we could either strike out at the nearby Patrol route northeast of that location, head to the rebel camp southeast of the river, or what have you. Although I believe that once the slaves are freed, we should escort those that are willing to come with us to the rebel camp, after all, what point is there to free slaves if they just end up getting captured again? With that, he grabbed a loaf of bread and began to thoughtfully munch on it. Last edited by L0stTh0ught; 10-06-2009 at 04:16 AM. |
