After nearly 30 minutes hidden away Steven makes his entrance into the smoking lounge. His suit was suprisingly neat, considering the amount of time it had been hidden for. His hair was tidy, not a single hair out of place, and the dirt had been washed from his body. Slowly he scanned the smoking lounge and moved over to join Rainer and Evan. Not bad facilities I must say. Well worth the expenses. He grinned as he waved a waiter over, ordering a German Brandy. And not bad service either. |

Mingling easily with the gentry, Evan and Steven nevertheless fails to hear anything about Trafalgar. Despite, the drinks are very good...
__________________You search every corner of the gondola. For several days. Rainer even manages a tour of the crew quarters, thanks to some very sly uniform pinching, but nothing turns up. At last, New Jersey is in sight. Tiny figures run frantically in preparation across the naval base which is your landing point. Trafalgar's map and the ticket must have been a blind. And what a blind: you have not only given him three days of headstart, but will need another three just to return to your point of departure... At that moment, as you pass two crewmembers in conversation, you overhear them talking. They're speaking German. |

As the crewmen passed Steven looked over at the others. Well I'll be, there is a service space above us, that heads up into the blimp. Seems it is a large enough space to service the engine and fins. Steven watched as the two men moved off. Might be worthwhile to follow those two, see if they lead us to the hatch.

Evan hadn't paid much attention to the crewmen, besides noting their presence. He'd even taken a few steps down the opposite direction before Steven's comment brought him up. He spun on his heels to face Steven and Rainer, coincidentally able to watch the crewman head down the walkway. "Yeah, that makes sense now that I think on it. I'm an idiot, shoulda thought of that myself."
"Sure, lets take a chance and see if they head to it." Evan agrees with Steven "I'd really like a look at what keeps this gal goin." |

Rainer: HP: 16/16 AC: 19 Wpn: Mk VI Mag: 6/6 Spare: 6x4
Listening to the others furtively discuss the German crew of the Airship, Rainer takes a quick look around. "I hate to say this, but I don't think sneaking around the service corridors of this thing is exactly either of your cup of tea." Unbuttoning his shirt, Rainer strips to his undershirt to blend in a bit more with the crew. Handing his shirt and hat to Evan he says, "Wait here, I'll take a look real fast and see if I cant find some crew uniforms or something for us. Hold up anyone if the come this way, pretend to be soused or something, just keep them busy."

Evan looks at the shirt and hat now inexplicably resting in his hands. He then looks back up to where Rainer is doing his best to be nondescript and moving off quickly. Evan shrugs and looks to Steven and says "Guess he was bored!" dead-pan, cracking a smirk after a few seconds. "So...I saw a group of young Frauleins in the smoking lounge. How bout we go introduce ourselves"

Dressed like waiters ("must have been laundry day. We don't HAVE to serve anyone...) the trio make their way into high bowels of the gondola, eventually reaching an interestingly disguised trapdoor. It is padlocked, but the last person to open it forgot to lock it in.
__________________Gently pushing it open, you find yourself in a mildly claustrophobic tunnel, its walls made of the bulging pressurized contents of the blimp. It is composed of silver panels made of some flexible silver cloth. It yields to the touch but remains tough and firm beneath your weight. Up here the engines roar a little more loudly, but all other noise is muffled and distant. Rainer takes the padlock and closes the door behind him. You continue gingerly along the tunnel. It gets darker and darker, and obviously lighting a match is out of the question. But ahead of you is a dim glow. And turning finally upon the engine section (starboard) you find the hunched figure of the dr. He sits on a crate, and scattered about him are the tinned remains of army rations. He is examining the Cross with a lupe. Even at a distance and the gloom, broken only by the accessway to the engine and in the feeble light of a lamp, the gold glints maliciously. |

Steven motions for the group to stop, before pointing out the Dr. We need to be careful, we can't shoot at him, and I doubt we can go toe to toe with him. Anyone got any suggestions? He whispers to the others.

Evan gives a wicked little grin in response to Steven's query. He looks back down the shadowed walkway at the Doctor as he reaches behind his jacket and removes his army-issued kabar from the small of his back. "We only need the cross right? So we keep him occupied until one of us can make off with it..."
He looks to his two companions to gauge their thoughts on his suggestion. |

Steven closes his eyes as the realisation of what Evan suggested sinks in. I am not a fighter, so if you like I can try swiping it, but your going to take a beating if you go up against him Evan.

Evan shrugs and responds "Only thing else I can think to do is say 'forget it' and take the money we have and run. So unless one of you two has a better idea..."

I am not walking out on a job. He looks over at the figure in the distance. See the thing is, unless he has grown wings, he is not leaving this airship until she docks. Question is, do we want to be locked up in here with a mad man who wants his toy back until we have a chance to escape?

"right...there is that" Evan says deadpan, but his body loses some of the edge that had been building as he prepared to jump Doctor T. "Where's a frickin escape plane when ya need one?!"

"We'll ****. I guess we should have figured that out first before squirreling ourselves away up here. And whats this about not shooting him? He's a bloodly MONSTER! What the hell else are we gonna do?"As if to emphasize his point Rainer draws the revolver from his trousers and checks the load.

Evan jumps nervously and turns to face Rainer "Uh, look, I know you like shootin that thing off...an normally I'd be right with ya...but you do realize what happens if a bullet misses your target?!"
"****, with that hand-cannon it might go through whatever you shoot at, anyways. Then we're all headin for a great big smear on the jersey shore." |
