Post: It is towards the middle of the day and it has been relativity uneventful so far. The party has just arrived within the city the night before so there hasn’t been any time to look around and talk to people. The party arrived here traveling just for the sake of traveling and looking for adventure.
__________________After waking the party has met up outside the local inn for breakfast and just together. Outside the inn everyone over hears the town crier talking. Please post your location and daily actions, this is also a good time to play your "attack" on the world. Town crier: “There has been another attempted robbery last night in the “Sealed Vaults”. Any information about these attempts will result in a reward if it is useful. The current lead is a group called “Phoenix” but very little is known about them. For further information and possible rewards report to the guard house” DM Note: The “Sealed Vaults” are near the center of the city in a small keep. It houses some powerful artifacts and weapons. They also contain city records and a museum that are open to the public whenever they are needed. |

While in my room I will change to look like a young human male with clothing common to this town. I skip breakfast because I am not hungry. I inform my party members of what I plan to do and that they are welcome to come along and if not I will meet them back at the inn towards the end of the day. I will head to the guard house and see what information I can get about the recent theft atempt, the vaults, and the phoenix. After that I plan to tour the vault museum. After that I will find out if the city has a library or archive and search it for information regarding the vault and phoenix group.

Iarmid wakes up and sleepily rubs his eyes as he meets up with his party members. He had been up late last night performing for a little extra coin and he doesn't feel like he has gotten enough sleep. He acknowledges the now human looking party member "you do that, I'll go get some breakfast then try to find more information myself." After a good meal I will wander around going from tavern to tavern trying to gather some information on the same thing that Ryan is. I will us improvisation (3 1st level left) to increase my gather information roll by 4

Arc Esper is a tall lanky fellow of curious disposition. His skin has a weathered color between rosy wind-raw pink and sun-beaten brown, but its surface remains smooth and youthful. His hair is shaggily unkempt, slightly obscuring silvered blue eyes where it peaks out from under his wide domed reed-cloth hat.
__________________He chooses to dress simply, keeping warm-season clothing underneath his traveling cloak. His most ostentatious adornments include his ‘roving bands’, the twin copper wristlets that lie mostly in the shadow of his loose cloak sleeves. They glint occasionally as he keeps his hands occupied tending and balancing his walking staff, upon which he has attached a loose leather satchel, which is home to the remainder of his modest possessions. His waist is belted by a plain leather two-braid which also secures a series of vials and small bottles against his side. A woodsman’s bow & quiver is set upon his back. Outside of the inn, Arc stoops in the rough gravel of the road, considering the pebbles. Looking them over, he chooses one, smiles, and lightly flicks it between his thumb and finger, before catching and pocketing it. Taking in the noon-day scene, he casually lends an ear to the crier. "Well, gentlemen, we've arrived." Arc says, as he addresses the company. He nods at Iarmid, bidding good day, as he follows Ryan outside. "You look different today." Arc says with a soft chuckle. "I would accompany you to the museum, as it is said that many a strange and quaint item of antiquity lie within." Arcs eyes shine with a luster all their own, not of greed, but that passionate and obsessive curiosity that is often the downfall of seekers such as himself. Tahlin, a tall, dark haired elf, awakens from dreams of the hunt to the smell of the town. After a sigh of regret he rises from bed, dressing in simple travellers' clothes. Gathering his few posessions, he joins the others, listening idly to their questions, committing to memory the names and faces of the townspeople who seem most knowledgeable and keeping an eye outward for potential trouble, rather than asking any questions of his own.

Post: Museum Description: This is a large building constructed of low quality steal but the walls are thick. It appears to be 3 stories, a circular shape with a large dome on top of it. The inner middle of the building is hollow from the dome on top to the first basement level. There are circular sections around this. (For better words think of a cylinder within the building of open space)
__________________Entering the court yard in front the building there is a guard station where all persons wishing to enter are searched and required to place all weapons and magical devices within their office for security purposes. They will return them when you have chosen to leave the grounds. Upon entering the building you notice that this is just a reception level for guests and scholars to convene. The center of the building is free standing and open spaces to the top of the dome and the level below you where a large stone statue stands in the center. It is a humanoid shape wearing armor wielding a sword of unusual design and a hammer. This is the founder of the city this statue is in memory of his accomplishments many years ago. The lower levels (3 basement levels) of this building contain the town archives and the sum of worldly knowledge that is known. Upper levels (2 above the main floor) contain numerous artifacts and pieces of art and treasure. 2nd Open level more of a garden containing various plant life and sculptures. 1st various art works and historical references to the cities past. Ground floor: Reception hall, lounge, scholar’s halls. Basement level 1: General archives relating to the town and the people within it. This is also the base of the statue. Basement level 2: More sensitive records are here designs for buildings technology and known magic. The city vault lies within this level as well. DM: If anyone would like some greater detail about something within the museum please inform me and I will make an additional post about that section. It would also take most of the day to explore the contents. Guard House: This simple structure is near the museum. It contains a few offices, small armory, holding cells, interrogation room, and a storage vault. The building is 2 stories with a single basement. Speaking with the guards inside the thief is in one of the holding cells awaiting a hearing. He divulged very little information about who he was working for or anything else. The only notable information was that “The phoenix group will have this weapon, neither you nor I could stop them” he refused to speak to anyone else after that. There is not a lot of information in the guard house about the phoenix group other than they exist and they want this weapon. Guard “You might try your luck in town or in a nearby town for anything else about Phoenix. If you find anything else out let us know, there could be a reward.” Vault: Information on this item is very scarce only a few people know more about it other than its there and has stuff in it. Only 3 people have direct access to the vault from what the general people know the king, museum curator, and the head guard. Within city records the building and the vault were one of the first things built when the town started to grow nearly 300 years ago. There is no known written inventory of what is in this vault or how to open it. Town Crier: Nothing New DM Note: Characters are aware of the DM notes it is me giving you some information that is related to the last posts or next posts. In descriptions or conversation when text is in bold it is something that you should look at a little closer. People speaking will almost always be in quotation and in Italics. OOG: Sorry for the short delay with the post I had to wait a few days for ATT to hook up the internet at our new apartment. I will be able to check the threads on a daily basis now. |

What I do next is really dependent on how they do the search. If they just look and take anyting that looks dangerous. I am wearing a tunic and pants and I have a staff. If they want the staff I will give it up. If they do a physical pat down I will walk away. If some how they can tell I am wearing magic rings and they want me to remove them I will say that they stop working for a week if they are removed. So I will say that it is to much of a hassel and will leave.
If I am allowed to enter I will do what follows in the next paragraph, but If I end up leaveing before I have explored the building I will go talk to the people that are in the alley. I will explore all of the levels that they are allowing people to have access to. I will make a mental note of what the guards are wearing and how many of them their are. As well as what the head guard looks like. Last edited by Curris; 02-21-2010 at 07:07 PM. Reason: Neat buttons |

Having not found any information on the vault or the phoenix group, Iarmid will default to gathering information about people needing adventurers to do something, mostly those with rewards. Using 4 more points from my improve pool.

As Arc passes through the guard station, relinquishing his bow to the security personnel, his inquisitive gaze sweeps over the other possessions left there for safekeeping. . . If any thing seems interesting to him, (very magical, or unusual), he'll ask the guards to whom the item belongs. Then he will store his staff and bag with them, resting them atop the bow and quiver, or perhaps in a locker-box if one is available. After this interchange, Arc sets off towards the museum's interior, smiling even disarmed, eager to explore.
__________________Moving past the scholars on the main floor, Arc keeps an ear out to overhear interesting discussions, but only stops if he notices them discoursing about philosophy, law, or magical theory. If one of these discussions catches his attention, he'll continue to observe on the periphery of the crowd. Passing into the building, Arc takes his time to admire the founder's statue. He looks down into the lower levels from the passage in the floor, and reads the inscriptions related to it. Given the opportunity, Arc will also glance up, taking in the scope of the building, with the large center column space, and gaze at the dome's underside. Offhandedly, he comments positively about the architecture, quite impressed. With his curiosity satisfied about that, Arc wanders the building erratically, but rapidly, reading the historical scrolls, considering maps, and admiring artworks. |

Tahlin speaks with a few seedy looking types along the way, asking vague questions about where one would go to buy or sell unusual items, or information, glaring angrily at any who look like they might refuse to answer to try to start trouble. At the guard house he walks to the cell bars and takes a close look at the captive. At the museum entrance he grudgingly relinquishes his gear, and begins to wander around the building.

Town Crier: Nothing new as of yet.
__________________Post: Everyone that has entered the building and has looked at the statue for a short period of time has noticed 1 thing. The weapon the figure is holding is metallic and the statue appears to be made of stone. Anyone looking for work within the city can easily find it. Most villagers will pay a small amount for basic help. A character wanting to spend 8 hours working will make 1D8 gold and better his reputation within the city. Everyone choosing to spend most of the day within the museum will gain about the same knowledge that everyone has gained. They will also gain +1 knowledge local as the museum has some knowledge about surrounding kingdoms as well. Notton: The search at the door is a simple one they ask you to turn over any weapons that you might be carrying on you. There are a few guards inside the building just walking around making sure people do not touch things or attempt to steal them. Nakuni: Within the city jobs are in a moderate demand mostly simple jobs helping out the villagers for simple pay. There is also the standing reward from the city about any more information about the people attempting to steal things from the museum. Curris: While inside the building you over hear many conversations on many topics. A few people seem to not really know what they are talking about; they are trying to keep the conversation going and not sound stupid. On the upper floors people are having a little more enlightened conversations about art and the city’s history. It would appear that there are some debates about events in the past. The statue is very detailed there is a plate at the bottom with a quote and an inscription. “I have become the angel of death, destroyer of worlds and life.” Below this reads”Théoden Spent much of his life killing his enemies and slaying magical beasts to lay down the foundation for this city. In his later years he began to regret some of his actions in life.” Anopielopday: Within the museum you over hear a few people talking about the recent attempt at stealing some things from the museum, but nothing new that you didn’t know already. DM Note: Locations where you will be searched by guards are few and the searches are not that extensive. For the most part they do not want you walking around with a sack of weapons. If it looks like you are not going to kill everyone and you’re not carrying weapons they will let you pass. Though I have typed somewhat different information into each personal post everyone that spends a good partition of the day within the museum will learn pretty much the same things. OOG: I have seen that there is a way to place large amounts of dice rolls in a button. I would like everyone to do this so it cleans up the posts a little. I will also refrain from making a lot of posts that need a large amount of dice rolls. Sorry for the delay again... enjoy |

With the help of my hat of disguise I currently appear as a human in his teens wearing plain clothing. I do not appear do be carrying anything. As a side note the only weapon on my character is a non-magical staff. If their is time after visting the vault I will be going to find a place to buy a dagger and light crossbow.

With a sigh Tahlin leaves the museum, stopping at the guard shack to collect his things on the way out. Once back in the city, he roams at random, pondering his next move to locate this mysterious group. Along the way he inquires occassionally about specific jobs that may be available.
