Chapter 1: Invitations
What do you want to do? Options: Continue on to Ten-Towns, you will get there faster but may not survive, or enter the cave for that night, and get to ten towns maybe a day later. |

It's colder than an snail's butt out here. I say we head to the cave and see if we can get a fire to warm up these dwarven bones of mine.
__________________I head to cave trusting that Serrah will follow. As I approah the cave, I keep a eye out for any trouble thinking If this is the only cave around these parts, then there are sure to be some animals also looking for shelter from this blasted cold. Dice perception check:

You go into the cave sensing no danger, however, when you sit down to begin making a fire, you here a voice that seems to come from nowhere.
"Life is life and fair is fair so why do you disturb this witche's hair?" Last edited by Jordan; 10-27-2009 at 02:41 PM. |

Serrah will indeed follow Rocr into the cave, hugging herself to keep warm. As the diembodied voice speaks Serrah will reach for her weapon but does not unsheath them, and looking at Rocr for support should they need to fight. "We are sorry to disturb you... Miss....? We only seek shelter and warmth to wait out the night."

Nodding towards Serrah with a smile on my face and a laugh in my voice. Meaning you no harm, meaning you no foul, we simply needed to get out of that wind's howl.

(whispering back) "Aye, we should try for sleep, but in turns and in are gear. We may need to be ready to leave in a hurry."
__________________Then I rasie my voice to answer the voice, "Sleep we will, soundly this night. Till the morn, we leave at first light. No harm to you, no harm to us and we all be al-right." (lowering my voice) "I'll take first watch Serrah and if any baddies come are way. They will surely fall against my greataxe and your blades." |

"Ok, but don't go wandering off to investigate any strange noices without me. We have no idea who or what that voice belongs to." I then find the most comfortable area of frozen gound thats availible to try and get some sleep. When I find a spot, I place my greataxe to that its within easy reach and sellte down for a few hours of, hopefully, uneventfull sleep.

(50xp each for encounter... Go ahead and add this to your character sheets)
You two spend the night asleep in the cave, quite warmer than you suspected. When the morn comes nothing had transpired, but on the ground in front of you two you see two vials of black liquid in front of you, then an older short hunched lady appears out of nowhere. She is blind and holds a walking cane. She stands in front of you both and says nothing. Last edited by Jordan; 10-29-2009 at 01:34 PM. |

Serrah quickly stands and after a quick look to Rocr releases the tension in her sword so that it can fall fully back into its sheath, but never takes her hand off the hilt. "Sorry Ma'am you scared me. Are you the one who spoke last night?" A short pause and Serrah finnally takes her hand off of her swords hilt to rub the back of her next. "I'm sorry for the rude greeting, it just like i said though, you gave me a fright. I'm serrah and my compaion is Rocr. Do you need any assistance?"

She looks at you and smile, "Drink up," she says as she points at the black liquid in the vials.

I stand up and start my morning stretches. "Might we ask what is in the vials? Only fools take drinks from strangers without at least getting a name first."
__________________*belly rumbles* "Sorry about that, haven't have breakfast yet." Finishing my stretches, I put out some rations from my pack and start eating."Would you care for some mam? You too Serrah, you need to put some more meat on those bones of yours." |

Serrah looks at the vials and when Rocr speaks a mirror to what she is thinking she nods in approval.
Serrah softly chuckles "I think i'm a good at a good weight Rocr, but yes some breakfast sounds good." She eyes the woman trying to read her, after all they had just turned their noses up to the old woman's....kindness?... because they couldn't aford to trust her. Please Ma'am join use, I can relight the fire if you are cold. |
