in the quiet moment. I rather follow the procedures. Never want to burn a bidge when you might have to camp on it for a few days. Know what I mean Rocr. (i almost wrote Vern....The Earnst movies where awesome.) Wile taking her bath she will ask the attendant about Bruenor and the Battlehammer clan's mine and what she/he knows about what is going on Insight Check = Dice Roll:

She tells you the tale of bruneor battlehammer and his associates, Drizzt Do'Urden the good dark elf ranger, Catti-Brie his adopted daughter who was an archer, Wulfgar his adopted sun the great Barbarian who wielded the great hammer Aegis-Fang (you can look all this up on the forgotten realms wiki). She then tells you of how they left for Mithril hall never to return, but that was hundreds of years ago, and by now they were definatley dead.

((just a heads up, the towns are close enough together in this valley that you can see them well enough to just travel there by sight.))

Since my character was hitting up a bath, lets have us go tomorrow.
If nothing Happens during the night: Serrah Waves to Rocr over to the table she is eating at as he coes down the stairs. "Why hello there sleepy head. After you eat want to try and hit up the Village elders for that map? Although if it eases your mind we can see the next town over. |

"A map with the mine's location could help and a map of the interior of the mines wouldn't hurt either." I then grab a quick bit to eat, grab my stuff and prepare to walk to the other towns.

((there are ten towns of course, so roll a 1d5 to see how many days it will take you, and roll a 1d20 three times to see if you get a map, also another 1d20 to see if you get any encounters.))

It takes you five days to travel to the ten towns and get the signatures. You find an old map of the caves. You also have a copule of encounters (roll a 1d4 for the number of encounters)

You have three encounters on your travels and you rack up a total of 300xp each. You are now back in the original town you were in in the first place and are ready to go to the cave.

"Ok, lets go explore the homelands of my distant kin," I state as I gather up my stuff and prepare to head out.

You head into the cave with no complain from the guards, you get deep in with no signs of life when you come upon three splitting passages.
