That was one thing Dedrik had taught him - always thank people when they give you stuff, it made them less likely to attack you. |

Dedrik braced himself as the big oaf leapt into the pit, hoping not to hear a bonecrunching thud at the bottom. That was almost as foolish as Grabbag's bee hive-goblin bomb. He let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the splash and opened his mouth to yell at Grabbag for being so reckless, but closed it after a moment knowing that he may as yell at a wolverine for working up a frenzy. "We may need to get back up, who knows, this may be the only way in or out," Dedrik said hoping to quickly descend and get to the Lady.

Those looking down notice the water, now properly illuminated, growing more and more red as Grabbag's blood spreads throughout it. It appears the fall -had- wounded him some, but beyond a grunt, Grabbag was simply too tough as nails to show it. They frailer ones amongst the group might not survive such a jump, though.

Once there was light at the end of the tunnel (or pit, as it happened to be), Marcan felt a little more comfortable with the situation. "Ah, is that all?" he laughs to himself, "That's barely a jump!" He is more than happy to stay up top and help with the rope (and be the last one down), if someone will help move a few of the strange constructs they fought earlier over, and use them as an anchor.

"Hmmm... does the goblinoid feel pain?" the half-elf's question is probably meant for Dedrik, but Halcyon doesn't look up from the hole to clarify. He sighs as the rope thing seems to drag on and slides his body through the hole until he is hanging on to the rim of the floor. Feet dangling, he shouts, "Look out below... I'm coming down!"
__________________Then he drops off, maintaining good form until hitting the water with an audible splash in the stillness of the catacombs. His 5 1/2 foot frame becomes completely submerged except for his left hand held up high to keep his loaded crossbow (which he must have retreived from its holster in mid air) out of the water. Resurfacing, Halcyon shakes his long, damp hair our of his face and readjusts the ragged elven cap on his head. The water comes up to his neck so he has to keep his arms up to keep them dry. Reaching his free hand toward Grabbag, he speaks in the goblinoid tongue, "Hand me my torch. Let's move out. I hate swimming." |

Having stepped well aside, the bugbear laughs. "Good splash!"
__________________Then, he responds to the half-elf's query, handing him the torch back before grabbing his mordenkrad with two hands, holding it above the water again as well. "Okay-dokay." |

"So... here's the question. Travis calls down. "Is there somewhere to go after we get down there, or are we just going to have to climb back up?"

After the large bug bear jumps down, Halcyon makes his way towards the ledge and leans over. He is happy to see that there is no enemies near by. He then slithers his way over the edge before flipping down and landing into the water. He quickly resurfaces, sputtering the whole while. To his utter dismay, this seems to be sewage water. It's mostly likely from rain water, but that still doesn't make clean.
After a few seconds to gather himself, he slowly makes his way down the tunnel until the torch light just shows the entrance to a room. Caution causes him to pause, though, and wait for his allies to make their way down. Meanwhile, up top, Tun turns to Marcan and smiles. "Yes, I agree. If you use a few of them large metal bodies and tie them together, they should be more then heavy enough for a few of the lighter ones of us to crawl back up." "Come down. Looks like a room ahead." the bugbear grunts up.

"Heavy Metal?" Dedrik asks Marcan. "Well, too bad Grabbag is down there. He looks pretty strong," he says pointing at the elephant tusk wearing halfling. "Lead the way," he says to whoever knows where these things are. Dedrik, Rahmun, Marcan, (and/or whoever else wants to help) make their way to the busted metal contraptions and carry enough of them back to the pit to provide an adequate anchor. They drag them if they have to. Tying several of the contraptions together, they drop the rope down the pit. Dedrik climbs down first, willing to be the guinea pig.

Aruma follows Dedrik down, waiting first until he's clear of the rope before descending into the black crevice.

Despite the obvious distraction of sh*t-flavored water, Halcyon takes a moment to control his breathing and prepare himself for the predicament he had just voluntarilly entered. What they were doing right now was not normal. It could be viewed by most people as insane! He and his new goblinoid ally dropped 30 ft into a dark hole filled with sewage runoff (both hurting themselves in the process!) in potentially hostile kobold territory with Gods-only-know-what calling the underground stream home. Most people wouldn't do this, not even to save their lives... yet here he was, for no better reason than to find out where it went.
__________________Settled in now, Halcyon relished the adrenaline rush. This was what he lived for. Comfort, power, material possessions... all secondary to the thrill of discovery for the treassure hunter. No amount of success would ever satiate his desire to push the limits. No amount of failure would stop him, barring his inevitable death some day, probably in a place not unlike this one. With mind properly focussed, he reaches out with his instincts as he presses the light of his torch forward into the darkness, eyes and ears strained to find evidence of a dry chamber ahead. |

Besides Halcyon, the bugbear imitates him, sniffing the air and having a good look around.

Rahmun looks at the water and shakes his head.

"Ahhh.. poop." Travis exclaims weakly before lowering himself down the rope (and praying it will hold his weight). Looking truly miserable, the cleric slodges through the sewage after his compatriots.
