Can't tell with the updated map. Tricky DM move in making all of the old images obsolete (kidding). |

Perhaps in one of the planes of Hell then? A fitting place to fight in your second life. Atone for all of your previous sins and whatnot. I would have thought though that you'd choose for a companion someone less domineering. She seems quite fond of ordering you around. Whatever floats your boat.

What!? This is outrageous. Dwarf better find a miraculous way to save his charge before she takes a personal interest in his damnation.

Hmm - I'll rewrite that.

Saving the tiefling and saving Nevara are definitely the two major objectives of the round I think. I was gonna have Vytal go after the tiefling but Ayala beat me to it, so Vytal is available to try and revive Nevara if need be. Vytal is invisible until the end of his turn so he can sneak in and try a heal check (only +6 mod though) or administer woundstitch powder at the least and keep her from having to make death saving throws. Rememer the boneshard and the naga are both blinded until the end of my turn, so it would be a shame to waste that bonus.
__________________There's something else I want to try that could have a dramatic effect on this battle... possibly this round (waiting on confirmation) so I may not be able to cast an immobilizing spell this round. But if this idea works it may be even better... If Ferus still wants to move Nevara to a safer spot, it may be... well, safer! I'll wait and see what the field looks like when I'm ready to post and hopefully make the best decision then! |

Which, starting the turn dazed, you cannot do. Not even if you end the dazed effect first ![]() ...also... Quote:

Actually, that round, I didn't TP; merely shifted

Of course, the first two moves were teleports. Part of Aozora's current actions is a shift indeed.
__________________I agree with hvg3 on the fact that Nevara's effect on Boneclaw 1 is still active, since the magic only goes away when he makes the saving throw. Also, Dalinen, unfortunately for you, hvg3 is right about some part of his comments, that using Unfailing Resources is a minor action. It has been errata'ed, I don't know when, but apparently you and I both missed it... In these cases, as I have done in the past, I will let it slip one final time, to save the need for re-doing a lot of good work, and from now on we will use the new rule. I guess that the way we have been using Unfailing Resources, like Font of Life for the Warden (which meant that you could basically shed conditions at the start of your turn and prevent them from affecting you on your turn), isn't correct anymore, since the minor action that is required for it, is clearly part of that turn. For the future: I also agree, that (in the new version) if you are dazed and have one action, that doesn't give you any extra actions this turn once you shed the condition. I don't agree with him, however, that should you decide to shed the dazed condition, and you manage to become bloodied, you wouldn't be able to use the immediate reaction - you would be able to, because you wouldn't be dazed anymore. Mechanically it is still a problem, though, because if you save from dazed, how are you going to become bloodied on your own turn? The only way for that would be if you lost 10 HP by Unfailing Resources and that would make you bloodied, but that isn't possible either, due to 66-10=56 HP and your bloodied value is 55. On the same topic: I'll get back to you about the discrepancy of your HP amount in your private thread. So it'll depend on the outcome of your current HP amount, whether your current round's actions could take place. To be continued...! |

Okay, I looked it over for the past 45 minutes, and I come to the following conclusions.
__________________- Ferus is at 74/111+0 HP at the start of his turn. - He can use the old rules for one last time, allowing him his turn as it is written by himself. - He needs to drop his hammer in order to be able to pick up Nevara. I assume you drop it in your starting square? - I don't see why Nevara would have superior cover from being in between two tables. She does have cover against foes with impaired line of sight to her. Ps. due to Ferus's actions, I've had to add a vital piece of information to the game thread! Last edited by Olorian; 10-27-2010 at 08:45 AM. |

Those errata updates really suck. I understand why they've been made, it's just very frustrating to plan things out meticulously and then find out the rules have changed and your plans are illegal. Along those lines, thanks, Olorian, for your empathy and I'll update Ferus' sheets/powers accordingly.

I'll be getting a windows for Mac in a couple of months and will be able to stay more current on the errata at that point. Ooo - info?! Look forward to scratching my head in bewilderment ![]() Thanks for the helpful comments all, and appreciate the time spent in reviewing the post mechanics. The hammer can be dropped in his square, that's fine. |

Ah - another question:
__________________Aora has an OA vs Ferus for his movement but is currently insubstantial. If he takes the OA, does he turn substantial? Would he then still be attached to Nevara's form? |

Durn - had I realized the others were blinded and otherwise incapacitated (e.g. can't take OAs) I would have done things differently. Like no surge and use the minor to sheath the hammer. Or drop the shield and keep the hammer. Ah well. A shameful and costly oversight.

Thanks a lot, Dalinen! Yes, for my work it is highly recommended! As a rather inexperienced doctor, this course has taught me the basics of trauma life support. In practical terms, it means, what must a doctor do in which order when the ambulance brings in (for example) a patient from a car crash, a gunfight, or a fall from 20 feet onto his head.
__________________Aozora will remain insubstantial after the OA, and moves along with Nevara to her new square, as part of the power he used. Ps. Dalinen, you're the last one who posted at this moment, so nothing will change much if you decide to take a different minor action (stow away the hammer) instead of the second wind. Go ahead and change it if you wish. OOC I think it would be a good move, because that hammer means a lot to your attack capabilities, but on the other hand being lower on HP is always dangerous! The choice is yours. |
