The best way to think of levelling up on a whole is that each level after level 1 you gain, you have the choice of adding a level of whatever class you wish.

For example, if you begin play as a sorceress, you will take the added skill points and feats for level one then. Say you ascend to a level 2 sorceress, and at level three you decide to add a level of rogue, now you're Sorc 2/ Rogue 1. You use the hit dice and skills of the class you choose, but don't get the same level 1 bonus because technically you're now a level 3 character. Hit points, base attack bonus, saves, and skills all stack.

I'll flesh out what's going on in the convent with Sharimel as we go on. I left it wide-open intentionally since I don't know how the other characters will make their appearances. I can train some, have some be a member of the order, someone could come in for healing, the convent could be attacked or called upon for defense.... lots of possibilities, and I want to have a story which will enable Sharimel to meet up with other characters as quickly as possible and in a resonable and logical manner. Let's face it, she's not exactly going to be hanging out at the tavern having a drink, she IS a sister in a holy order...

If anyone is confused about starting equipment, I'm usually pretty generous when it comes to it. Just take what equipment and weapons you think is appropriate for your character. I'm giving you full librity to be creative. If there's anything I don't like, I'll simply tell you about it.

i wouldn't object to a couple of scrolls? I have a +1 weapon, I don't want to go too far out there. let me know what you think. I was thinking spells like consecrate, lesser restoration, etc, this way I could keep my buff spells prepared.

Reading through the initial posts, I can already tell who Jared would, and wouldn't get along with. It also seems like he is the dead opposite of Liz, once religious, now anything but.

I also think there will be tension between Maeva and Liz. Given her personality and Liz's background, Im not entirely sure if Maeva would pity her or scorn her.

I definitely think there will be tension between Maeva and Liz, especially f it turns out that Liz's family had anything to do with the downfall of Maeva's own.

I'd originally intended for Liz to be not terribly religious, just doing what she had to do to bide her time and get by, but one post as a servant-penitent has already got her emotions all jumbled.

Its more about the fallen sorceress thing. Maeva sees her past self as ultimately naive and worthless, and what happened was a sort of blessing in disguise to her.
