Description: At 6'4" tall and weighing 180lbs, Anthur is about average for his kind. He is of slim build and he has shoulder length ink black hair. His skin is pale grey with black markings that often get mistaken for tattoos. The markings are in the form of curved lines of varying thickness that intertwine and cover the whole of his body which in itself is unusual as they usually just appear on the face, chest and shoulders. Anthur damaged his knee emerging from a coastal cave where his spirit reincarnated. As a result he walks with a slight limp and he is not as agile as perhaps he should be. The latest incarnation makes him of similar appearance to a 30yr old human.

 

Personality: Anthur is a devout and righteous follower of Bahamut and seeks out evil wherever that may be. He particularly dislikes followers of Tiamat (see below) and administers justice quickly and mercilessly to any of her followers. As a result of this hatred he has a tendency to behave in a less that refined manner when around them.

 

Background: Anthur does not know how old he is, nor does he care. He personally seeks perfection in divine matters and each incarnation has brought him that much closer. However, in a recent incarnation he allowed himself to lose sight of his direction and as a result he died very quickly. He sees this as a punishment and he was almost abandoned by his God as a result. In a great effort to try and redeem himself he has set himself the task of ridding the lands of all things related to Tiamat as he sees her as the reason for his recent failings, in addition to his 'normal' duties.

Recent history Anthur's spirit appeared in a coastal cave a few miles from Monks Bottom just a few months ago. With his mind still wrestling with the anger that he had allowed himself to be cajoled so easily in his previous incarnation, he moved too quickly. Instead of resting to let his new mind and body become aquainted with the new surroundings, he set off and tried to negotiate the cave and rocky shore during darkness. The tide was just receding. As he placed a foot down onto the wet rocks he slipped and badly twisted his knee. That injury has never fully healed. His dreams and memories are full of visions of his betrayal of his faith. The sultry maiden that seemed to focus on him at the tavern in Port Norsby. The way she danced around him while the others laughed. Why was I even there? That question he asks himself several times a day now. He drank with the others, trying to get them to change their ways and he believed he was getting to at least one of those present. Then the next drink that went down tasted odd. Before long the room was spinning and the next thing he remembers was waking up in a strange bedroom and the dancer was laughing as she was getting dressed. He was almost naked. A man entered the room and threw a pouch of gold on the bed and thanked him for a job well done. What job? Just what had he done? He could not remember no matter how hard he tried. Anthur never got to spend the money. Confused and still feeling hazy from the concoction he had been given, he was attacked and killed in a back alley as he left the tavern. His recent reincarnation near to Monks Bottom was no accident. Bahamut was not pleased about what happened during the last reincarnation. As a result Anthur has been tasked with an important mission, his most important one if he is to achieve his ultimate ambition. The sovereign Lord has tasked the deva with investigating a cult called Cult of the Dragon which is believed by other agents of Bahamut to be working to open a gate to allow Tiamat herself into the material plane. It is also believed that Tiamat has left the Astral Sea and resides in a magical demi-plane. The Cult were believed destroyed over two hundred years ago but this move by Tiamat has cast doubt on this. During his recovery from the knee injury he heard tales about the sect operating nearby and now feels strong enough to investigate the tales for himself. He has also decided that trying to convert those that have strayed from the righteous path can only be done by his actions and not his words.
