The Observers' Box [OOC]

This is the location for anything not related directly to the game's current events. Questions, discussion, plot predictions, party strategy, anything you feel you want to talk about. I encourage discussions of interpretations of game events to get everyone on the same page. (I will not help you out with this, obviously, though I can clarify points of confusion if need be).

Just keep this thread to a PG-13 or cleaner level of content. That is the only rule for now.

Oh, and...Okay, I lied. Don't start a flame war in here either. If you want a flame war thread, you can have one.

Thanks Aeternis!!! Really looking forward to this!!

My character sheet is underway and should be ready tonight or tomorrow morning (GMT).

Rentok - Do you think Cass should take a level in Rogue? might be useful if one of us can find traps! I'm not fussy either way, it doesn't really disadvantage me in any way.

I think the level 4 in cleric is more important. Maybe just take it as a cross-class skill, so that you have a chance at it, anyways. I like that both of us can cast cure light/moderate wounds. It makes it so much easier to survive than having to avoid damage constantly. I hope your cleric is designed as a tank, because I'm using a whip as my main weapon. Whip-trip, switch weapons as a move action, dagger stab. AoO as they try to stand. Rinse and repeat.

I'm wondering about Coup de grace. A friend mentioned it in passing, so I don't know if I would be able to take it, but it seems Trip-switch to dagger-coup de grace would be a better plan.

I can never find starting gold. I have access to PHB, DMG etc, but I have no idea what starting gold for a barbarian3/cleric1 is.

No rogue it is, don't wprry, I'm quite tanked, I've got light armour at the mo, might switch for medium before we start. 35 hp but only 17 ac!

What are your rules on starting with magic weapons/armour?

Ah, you might want to go with heavy armor. Full plate, even.

Besides, we don't have enough starting gold at level 4 to have magic armor or weapons. And any useful rings or amulets are also out of our reach at this point.

No, +1 weapons and/or armor are well within reach. a +1 weapon costs 2,000 GP, where magc armor and shields are 1,000 GP, in addition to the cost of the item being made magical. See this and this.
