Question the DM

Okay, just two simple questions-
__________________It doesn't matter much to Sierra, but how many weapon groups would the Unarmed Swordsage have? I would think either the same as a Paladin or Cleric, that is, basic plus two or three. And also, will Sierra be receiving the Monk AC bonus that goes with her level? Doesn't matter now but I figure might as well get it out of the way, as I was left uncertain when I mentioned it earlier. |

#1: Unarmed Swordsage would probably get basic plus two.
#2: Yes, she can receive the Monk AC bonus as mentioned earlier. That would be a dodge-type AC, and so not subject to the Damage Reduction or Damage Conversion rules. |

All right, I'll make sure to pick those out. And yeah, none of her AC gives her DR or Conversion, as it's all dodge-like in nature. But thanks.

Your rules are definately formatted in a law student type way. Did I mention I work at a law firm myself?
__________________Anyway my question is what is starting GP/equipment? I may have missed it somewhere and I am sorry if I did. |

I'm still considering that. For right now, remain within the limits of what your character would reasonably have access to.
It will probably be something like 100 gp, so no masterwork stuff. Even Robert doesn't have that. Oh, and no one gets "Ride" as a class skill. Just to mention, since Westcharton has no riding horses. Also, no one should have any ranks in "Ride." |

Wait, don't they have mages who can cast Ride?

No, you can know the spell.
The problem is that mages are not very prevalent. For example, maybe 2% of the population are arcane mages (not counting bards, which by themselves are something like 1%). Clerics and other divine casters (not counting adepts) comprise about 5% of the population. Combat-based heroic classes are something like 8-9% of the population. The rest are NPC classes. |

My primary perform check for using bardic music abilities would be short poetry. This brings up a stylistic question: Could Haley's short poetry be freestyle rap?
__________________I was sitting in class today and I imagined a little white kobold "Droppin' Mad Rhymez" and saying things such as "MC Lizzizard 'bout to lay some col' smackdown upside this battle," and I burst out laughing... I was in the middle of a microbiology lecture on identifying morphology of bacterial genera, so it was a bit out of place... but I digress. The question is whether or not such a poetic style would be appropriate for this setting... Admittedly rap has roots in poetry, and as the only non-human in the party I'd the only one with any "subculture" cred, but it may be an inappropriate tone for a "high adventure" setting. |

Yeah, I'd say it'd be an inappropriate tone. As funny as that would be, I don't think it would be appropriate for the setting.
However, if you want to "translate" your short poetry to freestyle rap and post it in the OOC forum, I won't complain... |

Huh, well, I just wanted to know. I will be learning that spell eventually. It will probably be my main means of transport until I get Overland Flight.
__________________And another question (one I should have made a while ago), I wrote that Valentine has a "fake psionic tattoo". But I also remember you had forbidden psionics. So, can that hold true? It would if we are simply barred from being psionic classes, either because you simply don't like them or because of some further game twist that's coming, but if they don't even exist, I'd have to change that, would I? |

They do exist, but not anywhere nearby. You may or may not have heard of individuals who can practice magic without spells, using just their minds, in the far east, and you may have heard that they sometimes tattoo themselves.

Seth asked a question that needs to be addressed to all - starting gold/equipment rules. The rule is as follows: An individual may have no starting equipment that his or her character would not naturally own. This equipment must cost less than 100 gold absent special permission from the DM. |
