We're still restricted on no spending more than half our starting wealth on one thing, right? (Your comment about max of +5 on the skill bonus items made me wonder.)
And you'd make the items to boost ability scores through the level 2 egoist / psychic warrior power animal affinity. Last edited by ShadowcatX; 03-27-2010 at 08:49 PM. |

Unless you're King Kalak himself, anybody sporting a psicrown on the streets of Tyr is just asking to have a templar and six half-giants to beat them to a pulp. A poor fashion statement.

In case anyone else was confused, by 'gp' in my post about psionically enhanced items I actually meant Cp -- i.e. that was supposed to be a post about items that you can afford, and not about items that you will never be able to afford

Group, it looks like we're still waiting on a couple of character sheets.
__________________While we're getting the mechanics tidied up, there's still something to do. This adventure is really a series of simultaneous mini-intrigues which will involve one or two characters at a time. It may play out a little different than you're (or certainly I'm) used to, but as long as people are posting regularly and each group keeps up we'll be fine. The beginning of the adventure is no exception, as we will start out in small groups. This ensures that there is already some level of trust or friendship between a few characters, and will make it easier to integrate everyone later. Here are my groupings: Group 1 Elfman6 - Thron; male Half-elf Druid (Hush) Ravenor - Dravor of Tyr; male Human Bard (Prevenom) Group 2 thechuck - Big'un; male Half-giant Barbarian (Bite of the Wolf) Elucidus – Lanina; female Elven Water Cleric (Far Hand) Group 3 zebedee - Basha; male Halfling Ranger/PW (Offensive Prescience) Birched - Artek; male Human Wilder (Precognition) ShadowcatX - Maunek; male Half Elf Psion [Telepath] (Thicken Skin) Please use the Lounge or PM (but don't forget to CC me) to come up with a reason why you're acquaintances (or friends) and are together in Tyr. If you wish, you can add this as a detail to your backstory, which I would ask everyone to post in the new Personalities thread. We're getting close... Cheers! |

Basha and Maunek could've met at the School of Thought there in Tyr, to my knowledge it is the only psionic academy there so it'd be where they'd both be studying the way of the unseen. I know wilders generally don't study the way, relying instead on their will, any ideas there?

Regarding 'magic' items: Big'un is definitely going to have at least a couple psionic tattoos.

Basha probably hasn't done any studying here in Tyr... he's come to town from the Forest Ridge on a sort of dreamquest from his tribe's chief. Sorry - have class for the next 4.5 hours. Will post more useful info later.

The forest ridge is to the south west of Tyr, right? Raam is east north east. Perhaps we ran into one another at the gates and had a minor encounter with the templars?

It's sort of every direction West of Tyr
I'd say primarily NW, but I don't actually know which bit is where the halflings live. I am sure that Basha would have had some trouble at the gates, as he probably doesn't understand lines and security and templars. If Maunek were a kind soul to explain to a very confused halfling (so, also a brave soul?) about what the guards wanted, that would have earned his gratitude and probably his company while he tried to figure out what the hell was going on.

Maunek wouldn't have a problem with that. Always nice to have a scary friend when you're in a new and scary place.

Excellent. So, we've figured out how they met. Has Maunek been in town for a while, or did they meet upon their joint arrival? Your original post said he was studying at the School of Thought?
What would they have been doing since? Basha really has no idea what he's supposed to do... but since Maunek's been in cities before, he could explain how it works. Question is what they've been up to other than exploring. And, of course, how long it's been. And when they ran in to Artek. Last edited by zebedee; 03-29-2010 at 07:55 PM. |

I made a misstep and wrote Artek's background in a way that only made sense post-earthquake; I'm going to change a couple of things, and I think I'll change his military expedition so that it heads out to halfling lands. He would thus speak halfling and have a reason to have been wandering (lost, perhaps, after the destruction of his squad). This might be another hook for an encounter with Basha.
