U-17: Transparency of Votes

This looks simple enough... just one tiny mistake in the wording. According to the way that it is worded now, if a proposal affects another rule (i.e U-50-U35, the max number of people that can be in a coucel is increased to 20) then you would need to post it in the U50 thread and the U53 thread.

I vote no. People have the right to make their votes private, even if no one has done so yet.

Actually, I initially made them private, but decided to make them public in an attempt to get some talk going in my council's threads by drawing the people here due to the post making that *unread* post change to the game icon. I feel that making them public will enourage people to disscuss a little more to support their vote. owever, I do see your point.

That unread icon is annoying, but that's just a technical error that the admins refuse to fix. As far as encouraging discussion, I think we've had enough of that already. So much, in fact, that were booted off the main ooc threads.

While there might have been alot in yours (talking about council only threads), there has been virtually none in mine. Before I PMed two of the people, they hadn't made a single post... and I'm still waiting on one of those people (though giving a standard 8-12 hours due to time zone differences).

Since anything not limited by a rule is valid, you should try changing it to a mutable Council one rule. If they're as inactive as you say it might succeed on one vote.

I think they are voting (based on seeing posts in the "last post done" in their character threads), they just aren't talking (or typing)

Think of it this way: The rules were so perfect that no discussion was needed.

I'm also hesitant to vote yes on this. I don't see the point of taking away one of the rights of council members.

I find it difficult to argue the merits of a rule with someone if I am unable to know their vote status. I could end up arguing needlessly, and I believe it would encourage more debate. That was the spirit in which this was proposed.

Then ask? I don't feel that the rules should be changed to be convenient for one single person.

Simply put, I vote no.

The point of the game is to change the rules. In any case, it was an attempt to streamline things. It appears this was a stupid thing to do, so superfluous threads there shall be!

Viva nesting of threads and iteration!
