Finally, after washing in the bathroom, Centripus will head outside, spread his frightful array of weapons on the grass, and begin polishing each of them. |

Being rather better equiped for it than the average adventurer, Chayim takes a moment to sort out his hair and spot-clean his clothes. I suppose I'll have to find someone in town to get them laundered properly, and maybe get another couple of sets now I've got somewhere to stash them. Seeing as Centripus is wandering around outside, Chayim opts to explore inside, tracking Anders down to the mysterious study and enjoying poking around and chatting offhandedly to Anders.

The warm afternoon sun shines down down on Alko and Centripus as they laze around outside. Nothing bothers the two of you for the rest of the day.
__________________Chayim and Anders spend a bit of time in the basement, talking lightly but not finding much of anything despite the drawn out search. When Chayim drags Anders topside and enters the illusionary study, the two of them are, together, able to locate the small hole in the stone bookcase. After fumbling around with the cylinder for a few moments, Chayim manages to slide it into the cavity. The stone cylinder emits a quiet clicking nose as it meets with the back of the hole. The sound of gears churning below you can be heard as the floor you stand on begins to lower your bodies' through the illusionary purple rug and into a whole different room. It is obvious that the two of you are now in the blocked off part of the cellar. The room turns pitch black as a replacement floor covers the bit of light from above, but once lit, the room reveals a very interesting scene. It appears much the same way as the room above, but everything here looks to be real. There is a desk and chair in the corner that hold an open book, ink and a quill, and a pile of parchment. Lining three sides of the room are bookcases filled with books of all kinds. On the only open side of the room, the northern side, a gigantic map of all of Oberin with custom markings scattered throughout it sits. |

Finding Alko’s delightful company outside, Centripus will approach her and ask her some more about her curious weaponry and fighting style, most especially those little sharp stars she claims to be able to hurtle.
“I just can’t believe they’d hurt so much, seein’ as how they’re so little.” He asks to try a throw with one himself. "You wouldn't be havin' any other cute lil weapons like this, would ye?" |

"Ooooh. Nice find Chayim! This is fantastic!" Anders claps his hands together loudly and rubs them together. He's positively beaming. "Our very own library! An excellent map of the lands. Sort of a command center if you will." Anders steps into the room eager to run over to the open book, but he stops short. "Of course, this begs the question of what the previous owner was doing with this space. You don't suppose this room is trapped, do you?" With that he shuffles slowly and carefully over to the desk, looking to see if there are drawers. Without turning any pages, he reads the open page of the book laid out on the desk. After that, he begins to search the room for anything that looks odd. He has no clue what he's looking for, but he puts the goggles on at points as he s

Quote:
"And as for other weapons, well..." Hitching up her robes, she unstraps two pairs of strange-but-rather-lethal-looking weapons from her limbs. One pair of weapons look something like overlarge dinner forks, if such forks had only three prongs. Perhaps it would be more accurate to liken them to tridents. "These are called sai. I use them when I need to puncture or slice and my hands won't do the job." Holding one in each hand, she twists and whirls, creating soft swishing noises as they part the air. Handing them over to an eager-eyed Handyman, she next pulls out a pair of what look rather simply like sharpened sticks, albeit forged iron sticks. With a shrug, she explains, "These I mostly keep around just in case some street thug gets a little over-zealous. Holding one of these while I fight means my strikes leave little holes instead of bruises." The monk points to Handyman's own rather impressive array of weaponry. "Do you use all of those? Your hammer seemed to get the job done pretty well." Last edited by reivision; 08-16-2010 at 10:30 PM. |

Centripus chuckles with a gesture to his collection of weaponry. “I’ll introduce ‘em to ye jest like my Dwarven grandpa. Take alook ‘ere.”
__________________Centripus has, lying on the grass and polished: One glaive with a worn, metal handle and very sharp point. One warhammer, his signature weapon, next to his heavy wooden shield. One battleaxe, not yet used, next to the shield. It’s double headed. One spiked gauntlet, a little smelly, drying in the sunshine. Centripus washed it in the bathtub. One dagger, usually kept in his boot. “My grandpappy always used ta say, keep more friends than foes, that’n keep more weapons than friends, jest in case they all needs one someday. I don’t ‘magine I can use any of yers, though, so I guess yer grandpappy must a’told ye somethin’ different.” He picks up the battleaxe and twirls it in his hand. "I've been meanin' ta use this one next." |

Anders manages to not trigger any traps, imagined or otherwise, as he makes his way through the study. The book is open to near the middle of what appears to be a first hand account of a soldier's hunt through something referred to as "The Ice Dungeon" for a man named Lancastar.
Nothing looks all that out of the ordinary other than the fact that this part of the house has been left undisturbed while the rest of it has been thoroughly ransacked. That and the fact that there are a number of custom marks on the map. The map is marked in the ocean, south of Duldrus and west of the Lizard's Island, on the southwestern tip of the Maralian Continent; an area virtually unexplored it should be noted, near the middle of the Divide on the middle of the Mainland, in the Bois Desert on the northern tip of the mainland, and at Elara's Gape, the volcano in the eastern Brigobaenean Continent. |
