Hall of Fame Schedule Change!

Hall of Fame Schedule Change!

Every year, we ask our community to nominate the finest, most exceptional games on this site for inclusion in the prestigious Hall of Fame. We're almost there again! What is the Hall of Fame, you ask? Check that out here, including a list of all games inducted.

In previous years, the Hall of Fame has been held at the end of July and through August, overlapping with site competitions Outplay and Iron DM. This seems foolish, when there's plenty of time in the rest of the year to run the nomination process for the site's spotlighted games. So, just to upset those who set their schedule around RPGX's events, this year we'll be opening nominations on the Ides of March (15th). Nominations will run for two weeks, then voting in the... Changing of the guard -- welcome to new moderators, and thank you to outgoing ones
Feb 24, 2021 - 11:01 AM - by Birched
Today I'm announcing some changes in the RPG Crossing moderation staff.

First, I'd like to thank outgoing moderators Nimlos (moderator since 2011) and Jondera (moderator since 2009) for all their contributions over the years. Each of them has made numerous contributions to the site over their long tenures, and, although they haven't been around much in the past little while, I hope to see more of them in the future. Thank you Nimlos and Jondera for all your contributions.

Next, I'd like to announce two new moderators that you can now bother with your questions and problems. Both of them were noted for bringing something positive and special to RPG Crossing, and this is their 'reward'. One of them is even a former admin on this site when were were called DnDOnlineGames! I know they'll be happy to help make your experience here at RPG Crossing a great one. Please don't break them on the first day.

Welcome to the RPG Crossing site moderation team, Raylorne and Unko Talok!

Congratulations!
January POTM
Feb 16, 2021 - 8:31 AM - by Admin Dirk
Despite the Arctic Blast taking several judges off-line, we managed to get our choices in for the January Post of the Month. It wasn't easy, but it quickly became apparent that one of the posts was a clear front runner, and although the others gave it a good run, that post won the hearts of most of the judges.

The winner of the January Post of the Month is: Cottontailwind.

You can read the POTM post here.

This "powerful" and "inventive" post was one of many in the game that people felt were worthy, but it was chosen and nominated, and went on to WIN the January contest... which just goes to show what you can do with some words, imagination, and people who nominate you! In the words of one of our judges, this post was a "deep-dive into the game's lore while keeping the voice moving throughout". What more could you ask for in a game post, eh?

You can read the other competition here, each of them well worth taking a moment of your time to peruse. Give them all some RPXP love, won't you?

And don't forget, February POTM is running, and we need your nominations!

Post of the Year
Jan 31, 2021 - 8:51 PM - by Admin Dirk
Once a year, about this time, we get an all-star panel of judges together at the Post of the Month club and sanctuary, and they discuss lofty things and make great decisions. Meanwhile, the rest of us judges do the hard, dirty work of deciding which of the twelve previous Posts of the Month impressed us the most.

This year, it took a long time... it was a lot like a horse race, with no clear winner at the start, and then some favorites pulling through in the stretch. When you are judging great posts against other great posts, it's a tough race. But, only one post can win, and so it is with great honor, I announce that the judges (the hard working ones, not the All-Star ones) have decided.

The 2020 Post of the Year goes to

Pseudonymous.

Not only did Pseudo's post about a little kobold win our hearts in December, but it won the best of the best...which was tough to do! It's a short, sweet post, quick but filled with delight. It hit a lot of the marks the judges were looking for, and left them wanting more.

The other eleven entries each had fans, and were lobbied for very hard. There were two fistfights among the judges, but that was just Squeak and myself, and we do that a lot.

Give Pseudonymous a pat on the back, or some RPXP, and give some to everyone else who won in... [Read More]
December Post of the Month
Jan 11, 2021 - 7:45 PM - by Admin Dirk
The judges are happy to announce the winner of the December Post of the Month. It took a couple days to get over our New Year's eve hang-overs, but we did, and then we got down to deciding. As always, it was tough, but finally, a decision was made.

The winner of the December Post of the Month is: Pseudonymous

I agree with the nomination made by Insacrum: "To me, it's a rare writer who can get you to want to sob and laugh all in the same post." Plus, it's not often that a Kobold wins anything, so... go take a look, leave some RPXP love to Pseudonymous, and to the other great posters who were nominated.

And don't forget, January POTM is running, and we need your nominations!
