If you'd like to craft stories and play role playing games
with thousands of people from around the world,
you've come to the right place!

RPG Crossing is a 40,000+ member online community that focuses on play by post role playing games (PBP RPG) and features such systems as Dungeons and Dragons (2e, 3e, 3.5e, 4e, 5e), Pathfinder, GURPS, d20 Modern, Serenity, Star Wars, Storytelling (World of Darkness) and many more. We are an active community with many new games looking for players every day, and with plentiful guides and tutorials for the new player and the veteran alike, including: New Player Solo Games to introduce new players to PBP and/or RPing; and DM Mentoring - a forum full of collaborative DM tools.

We also publish Explosive Runes, a terrific free role playing magazine with stunning artwork and great articles.

Free membership also gives access to our character sheets. We currently host over 82000 sheets for 10 different role playing systems!

December POTM
Jan 13, 2019 - 2:37 PM - by dirkoth
The holidays are gone, and we are deep into Winter (or summer, for you Southern Hemisphere Gamers). And with that, we are proud to announce the last and final winner of the Post of the Month contest for 2018.

Our December winner was a hard choice, among some excellent candidates. And that winner is:

Memorybeast!

You can read the winning entry HERE, so please, go and enjoy it! Enjoy the vivid details and the beautiful picture that Memorybeast paints around the action in the post, and be wowed like our judges were.

Please congratulate Memorybeast, and be sure to enjoy the other nominations from December 2018. You can find them here. Each is an excellent entry and well worth the read.

The PotM contest for January 2019 is going on now. Be sure to nominate your favorite posts from the month, and let's reward those among us with praise for their prose!

And the judging for Post of the Year begins now, from all our monthly winners, so stay tuned
for that announcement, in a week or two!

Happy New Year And Best Wishes For 2019!

I'm about half way into my first day of 2019, and so far so good. Over the past week I've spent time with family and good friends, and I hope that all of you have been able to do the same. I've managed to snag a quiet sunshiny corner and a little time, and I'm thinking back on the year at RPG Crossing. Thank you to all of you for your part in creating this community, which shines positive in so many ways.

I don't have to look very far for an example of the meaningful role this community can play, as we're now several hours short of the end of our most successful December charity fundraiser yet. This drive supports the continued existence of our community by helping to pay the bills (memberships are our primary way of doing this) but also has raised over $1800 to support the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation to fund research grants that target improving the lives of those affected by mental illness. For the seventh year in a row we've managed to beat our previous contribution, and all told at the end of this year's drive the RPG Crossing community will have contributed over $6000 to research that improves the lives of those affected by mental illness. Thank you to everyone who participated over the past seven years! I hope that everyone enjoys their bonus months of CS and PDF packs, and please, please make an effort to write an online... Legendary Games' Book of Celestial Heroes to the next 15 drive participants!
Dec 21, 2018 - 1:13 PM - by Birched
FYI we still have some of these at 2 pm eastern on Sat, but most early winners are choosing the PDF -- it's more likely you'll get an at-cost voucher if you are one of the last five, although I'll ask Mike Myler whether he'd be willing to swap
update Dec 24 10:25 am Eastern: these have all (probably) been claimed; waiting on Legendary games for a response to the question above
