If you'd like to craft stories and play role playing games
with thousands of people from around the world,
you've come to the right place!
RPG Crossing is a 40,000+ member online community that focuses on play by post role playing games (PBP RPG) and features such systems as Dungeons and Dragons (2e, 3e, 3.5e, 4e, 5e), Pathfinder, GURPS, d20 Modern, Serenity, Star Wars, Storytelling (World of Darkness) and many more. We are an active community with many new games looking for players every day, and with plentiful guides and tutorials for the new player and the veteran alike, including: New Player Solo Games to introduce new players to PBP and/or RPing; and GM Mentoring - a forum full of collaborative DM tools.
We also publish Explosive Runes, a terrific free role playing magazine with stunning artwork and great articles.
Free membership also gives access to our character sheets. We currently host over 82000 sheets for 10 different role playing systems!

| AI at RPGX: Some Guidance |

RPG Crossing thrives as a place where real people play, connect, and tell stories. With AI tools becoming more common, we want to clarify our approach:
RPG Crossing values human interaction above all. AI is a tool, not a substitute. It isn't banned or required. When used, AI should enhance, not replace, player contributions. Some members may embrace AI-generated content, while others may eschew it.
AI etiquette:
- Transparency: GMs and players should consider noting AI use (e.g., in-game posts, art credits, game ads, game policy statement, contest rules).
- Space-specific rules: AI use may be limited by game or event policies. The GM or event runners are responsible for enforcing any such rules.
- Responsibility: Members are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content (text, art, or otherwise) before posting. You remain responsible for all content you post!
bananabadger has prepared a longer article containing suggestions and examples about the use of AI that arose during a recent staff discussion. The article includes examples and deeper discussion, and has been posted in the Roleplaying Experiences forum.
The AI landscape evolving, and so will our guidelines. For now, let’s game!

This Month, we had a lot of nominated posts. Thank you all for your input and contributions and for showing us some quality posts. A special thanks to Acathala who wants to send the message across that self-nominating is a good thing to share your posts/ the post(s) you are proud of.
With any more delay: CONGRATZZZ to Leftyyy88 for winning the 'Post of the Month February'!!! Your post was nominated by Mitsubachi and this was their motivation: Leftyyy has built up the personality and demeanour, even a voice I can almost hear for the brutish orc, Torka, over a number of posts.
But this nominated post changed the tone and I like how Leftyyy described them He did this with the technique known as show-don't-tell. It was a pivotal moment in the game as it brought all the characters together on a shared quest!

It's that time of year again, a moment we eagerly anticipate in the RPG Crossing calendar – the Hall of Fame event! The Hall of Fame already boasts some of the greatest games this site has seen, but we know there are more out there deserving of joining its esteemed ranks.
This year, we will be taking nominations starting March 15th so be thinking about those wonderful games - the Hidden Gems and the Extraordinary!
All of our Hall of Fame games are nominated, often seconded, by our members. These nominations come from games that have been running for at least a year at the time of nomination or are already completed.

Congratzzz to.... Drifter One for their post that made an impression. The best post to represent the Month of January, and was nominated by Mitsubachi --> This game is about lampooning larger-than-life characters in old action movies, and D1 has got it down perfectly with "Brute", the star of this "Brute Force" movie franchise! Any of the last few posts could have been chosen for the nomination, they are consistently awesome, but it was my New Year's Resolution to put in a nom when I saw the site mods asking for them.
