Even though there were only two posts nominated, the judges were challenged by having to decide the winner of this Month. There was competition and nice details in both works, but one post was said to have a bit more richness in details. Quote: "It might have just been the difference of subject matter, or the difference between another angsty grief scene, and a bit more intrigue and threat."
This post was nominated by Banabadger -> This is an excellent balance of a player playing with the party, but also playing with the consequences of the game. Humble Athena is reminding the party that the curse her PC has been given does adversely affect her character's actions and choices, no matter how supportive other PCs might be. It's a great balancing act of promoting group cohesion (by letting all the players in on her turmoil) and allowing previous actions and rolls shape the story.
Close call, but we have a... [Read More]

HAIL TO THE RAT QUEEN!!!!
the winning post, the Homesick Sorceres
This Month's contest only had three contestants, you might think that would be easy to vote on by the judges but no. It was hard to choose, many things were outstanding in every post and we had to discuss giving weight to what and why. Just a short summarisation of the comments that were given;
- outstanding post. Good, solid game post
- and the premise sounds fascinating
- I really enjoyed reading this
There were more comments, but I wanted to provide an insight of the Judges' thoughts.
--> Having mentioned this, there was one winner, one post was standing out and to quote RedMonkey:

Retirements and a welcome! |
Aug 09, 2024 - 11:54 AM - by Birched

A couple of dedicated staff members are retiring today from RPG Crossing. These two have been around for a long time, and will be missed! Wynamoinen (moderator 2019-2024) and Admin Ronarscorruption (moderator 2009-2015, admin 2015-2024, and one of the few remaining members who helped with site design in the olden times) will both be stepping down. Please look for them around the site, and thank them for all they've done for this community! I can assure you that whatever you see, it's only the tip of the iceberg.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'd also like to welcome our new admin, Admin Bhelogan, who is known to many of you and has been a moderator on the site since 2017. He will have big shoes to fill!
PS Here's a list of current staff members.
