This change has been in the works for some time now--the other Admins have known for over a month, and the Moderators for several weeks at least. Let me hasten to say, no one is miffed, angry, upset or otherwise out of sorts with anyone else!

I've been on Staff for a few years now, and I've reached the point where I feel my contributions are limited in scope.

I'm hoping for the best for the new version of our community's software, but can't do much to influence how or when it'll come about.

The present Red team is totally capable of handling the place without me.

I have a supremely time-consuming new job which promises rich professional and financial rewards, yet my daughters are still the most important thing in my life. So my free time is incredibly constricted now.

And I'm just ready to go back to being here for the games.

When any two of the above were true, it was time for me to demote myself and step aside. I'm overdue.

I don't like the xp system. What the site Staff decide to do with it now is up to them; I trust their judgment, so you should too. Personally, I would prefer my xp were as close to zero as possible! My reasons for this belief are a matter of record in various places as the topic has come up.

So...let's try another round of "Keep ridin's rpxp at Zero!" It's easy and it's fun, and everyone can participate! People sometimes give me xp. I like the nice comments they leave, but am long past the need to show anyone how big my xp-ness is.* Let's just say that I'm very confident in my xp-ness.** So: if you see my xp is positive, give me negative xp to brig it back down! If it's negative, raise it back to zero! You'll have to do some fine math, and know the site rules regarding it, to get close. How close can you get...? Can you Keep ridin's rpxp at Zero...? There's a prize in it for you if you hit it just right!

Somehow the fact that you demoted yourself increases my respect for you.

Not, of course, that you didn't deserve respect before.

It's just... When someone realizes that they can't use the powers granted to them as effectively or as usefully as they could before and gives them up, it sort of makes them seem wiser in my eyes.

But yeah, I'm surprised you don't have a CS-ship as a thank-you for your efforts...

The CS-ship was offered. It was declined. (You really think we wouldn't give that to any former staff member? Much less the guy who all but ran the site for at least a few months. If anyone deserves it, it's RG, but he said he'd rather pay for it if he had it at all.)
