People of the Northern Continent
Shiva/Siva Race: Elan Sex: Male/Female Age: ? (they have not aged past their mid-twenties, and their original age was unknown) Class: Both are Manifesters however what exactly is unknown and they appear to specialise in different things. Shiva uses various forms of Telekinesis almost exclusively to fight, while Siva's abilities are a combination of clairistence and telepathy, although her telepathy is heavily focussed on empathic sense, rather than mind control or manipulation. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: None Description: The phsyical change that occurs when Shiva and Siva shift control is minor. For the most part it only results in a slight change in build and facial features that only the very sharp-eyed would notice. In fact, the only real way to tell which one is in control at a glance is by looking at their chest, since while Shiva looks somewhat effiminate he lacks his sisters slight hour-glass figure and assets. They have dark hair (generally said to be black or dark brown) while their eye colour varies much more, although it has always been some combination of grey, green and/or blue. Shiva is slightly taller than Siva, just about pushing six foot tall, whereas Siva falls a few inches short, an both have a surprisingly fit and healthy body given their reliance on their psionic abilities (Shiva is especially well known for his habit of floating a little above the ground rather than walking for example). Personality: Unlike his sister, Shiva is not one to be distracted, quite the opposite in fact. As soon as Shiva has decided upon a course of action he becomes mindnumbingly single-minded, and he will often act immediately. In particular, this applies to when he is threatened, whereas most would simply ignore someone who makes a passing threat, Shiva has been known to seriously hurt (and sometimes even kill) them, usually by hurling them against a wall with his mind or hurling objects at them. Shiva also has a strange sense of regret, in that while he may seem to feel sorry for doing something (killing a soldier that was ordered to attack him for instance), he will never apologise for the actual act, only the effects of the act (such as a family mourning for someone he killed). Siva often gains a glazed vacant expression, which is a result of her simply 'zoning out' and tapping into her psionic abilities unconsciously and thereby getting caught up in the surface thoughts of others, or seeing flashes of potential pasts, presents and futures. This can often make her a strange companion, however she is very adept at reading people, even without the aid of her psionic abilities, and is generally a nice and friendly person if rather...odd. Background: The origin of these strange twins, who addressed thmselves as Elans, is still a great mystery, as they were discovered wandering the wilds by the Ikran military twenty five years ago and when their abilities were already above those of even an above average soldier. After noticing this, the strange 'dual personality'/'dual form' the twins possessed and, more specifically, the benefits they could draw from this it was decided that the Ikran military would study the two of them who, while powerful for their apparant age (they were discovered around the physical age of fourteen), had not yet mastered their switching and even seemed to have only limited awarenes of each other (they are now capable of communicating with each other effortlessly). The studies were by no means barbaric, however it became quickly apparant that the two of them, Shiva in particular were only growing in power without any real training, making Shiva with his very strange way of interpreting threats, a very dangerous individual despite the fact he did not enjoy killing. This resulted in three seperate 'incidents', all started when Siva felt inadvertently threatened by the soldiers around them who guarded the psions, wizards, clerics and others who studied the strange siblings, which triggered the emergence of her brother and always led to many deaths. The first two resulted in only a handful of dead, however after the second incident, the man in charge of the study of the 'Elans' was warned by the general overseeing the enitre operation that there would be no more tolerance of 'it' killing his men. Unfortunately, there was a third incident, and it resulted in the entire underground compound being evacuated and destroyed by being collapsed in on itself. That had been their greatest mistake, as Shiva had, unknown to them, not revealed his true power and was not only able to shield himself (and, by proxy, his sister) from harm, but also managed to force his way out of the debris encased in a ball of psionic energy and used the debris itself to kill tens of men before simply vanishing. As it stands, there is still a large bounty on Shiva's head, for the murder of many soldiers and various other crimes across Aheka, however the two are very rarely spotted and are very evasive, though they were last seen heading north to Kaira. Since their rather public escape and the discovery of what the Ikrans were up to, there has been varied opinion on the twins, as well as what to do about them, as well as the knowledge the Ikran military has, in particular their theories and controvertial attempts to 'create' Elans themselves which have, as far as anyone is aware, all failed, though there are rumours that other, unscrupulous individuals have gotten their hands on the neccessary information though... Su'rion Race: Drow-touched Lakarn of Pride (her country of origin is unknown) Sex: Female Age: Unknown, though still thought to be quite young by Drow-touched standards. Class: Bard/Sublime Chord Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: Fenrir Personality: Su'rion is a Lakarn of Pride, which means she does not think she is the best, she knows it. Her bark is certainly not worse than her bite though, as Su'rion is well-reknown for being a highly talented individual and is without a doubt the most prolofic freelance mercenary in Aheka at the moment, with the likes of Anorde (see People of the Southern Continent) being the most well known for mercenary groups. Background: Su'rion is a Nameless, though she is a Namless by choice (and proud of it) having run away from her noble parents. In fact, the name Su'rion itself is a false name as well. As noted above, she is a mercenary 'jack of all trades' and is a very highly sought after one at that as her self-assurance makes her very reliable. She often travels with Keijo Kigo (see People of the Southern Continent) and the two have a strange friendship that has baffled most who know them, with Keiji being pretty much the opposite of Su'rion, including in his altruistic beliefs. Alistair "Shade" Teel Race: Nihleese (though he is not Nihleese by birth [having been born before Nihl was even formed], he has adopted it as his home) Sex: Male Age: Exact age unknown. He has lived for over a millenium however, as he took part in the latter stages of the Demongate Wars. Class: Sorcerer/Spellweaver/Arcmage/Other, unknown, form of supernatural class Alignment: True Neutral Deity: Faithless, though he worked closely with Ruaci (being her apprentice during the latter stages of the Demongate Wars) when she was mortal. Description: Alistair's "true" form is unknown, however the few times he has ever made any high profile appearances he typically has light blond hair and amber eyes while wearing an odd-looking necklace that looks like it was made for a woman. Personality: Alistair is very representative of the Nihleese as a whole, as he generally maintains an aire of neutrality, rarely interfering with the affairs of others. He is otherwise a rather care-free individual who values personal freedom very highly though believes a certain amount of constraint and order to be neccessary. He is likewise well reknown for being elusive and secretive to the extent where even Anorde (see below) has never been successful in finding him when he does not want to be found. Background: Alistair, or "Shade" as he is most often known as now, is the only living Human (and mortal) survivor of the Demongate Wars, during which he was Ruaci's apprentice. After the Demongate Wars he remained under Ruaci's tutelidge despite her divinity, quickly becoming the most powerful living mortal in Aheka's history. He was even offered divinity by his teacher however for reasons unknown by most he declined the offer and severed his ties with her and the other Saviours shortly thereafter. Alistair is also both the founder/ancestor of the Teel Kinship (who still retain his own surname) and the Nihleese group known as the Shades, who are basically the Nihleese equivelant to the Pharéan Quartet except that they are more numerous, not as individually powerful and do not have a limited identity/number. The Shades likewise took Alistair's nickname "Shade" as their monikier, choosing it for the very reasons he chose it for himself (as they are also elusive and secretive). While he is almost certainly still alive, Alistair's current activities and whereabout are unknown, and there has not been a confirmed sighting of him for decades, even during the war 5 years ago when the Deities themselves came to Aheka to fight off the invading Fiends. Alistair currently holds the title as the most powerful mortal to have ever lived and is widely believed to be capable of holding his own against an actual Deity, which raises the question of why he did not wish to elevate himself to an even more powerful position. Mask Race: Nihleese (or where he bases himself at least) Sex: Assumed to be male. Age: Unknown. Class: ?/Chameleon. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral? Deity: Ciilla. Description: Mask's appearance varies wildly, as he often uses disguises and even when he does not, the only constant about his appearance is the featureless, eyeless and mouthless white porcelain mask he wears, an Artifact known as the Mask of the Faceless. It allows Mask to alter his appearance, whether through illusions or transmutations, obscures his face from effects such as True Seeing and has various other properties and abilities. Personality: Mask is incredibly arrogant, self-assured and egotistical, although in a surprisingly quiet and reserved way in the rare instances that he speaks 'honestly' with people, however he is also a very accomplished actor and often acts different for one reason or another (his arrogance itself may be another facade as well). He takes great pride in his abilities and 'work' (see below), scorns authority and generally does whatever he feels like with little regards to others, though he is not malicious and rarely sets out to harm people. Background: Mask is an infamous thief, trespasser, defacer of statues, etc. etc. He performs great feats of stealth, cunning and subterfuge which, while essentially harmless and usually reversible, have earned him the ire of various powerful people, groups and even a few countries. Amongst his most famous feats are stealing the Shalian crown jewels before returning them to exactly where they were again (both times without anyone seeing any sign of him) and altering a public statue of Queen Mother Kalari of Halva with very inappropriate clothing before changing it back a day later. As far as anyone can tell Mask only does this for his own amusement, to prove how good he is and/or in homage to his Deity, Ciilla. Calder Lachlan a.k.a. "Preacher" Race: Tyryykan Sex: Male. Age: 32. Class: Shugenja/Faithless. Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Faithless, though he follows the ideals of Trinity and venerates the Great Circle like most Tyyrykans. Description: Calder, or Preacher as most know him as, wears a light robe over very rare and expensive silken armour which he aquired when he visited Rinn. He stands at a little over 6ft, a respectable height for a Tyryykan though taller than most other people. As is befitting is nature, Calder usually has a smile on his face, even (and sometimes especially) in the face of adversity. Like many Tyryykans, Calder has a 'notch' on his eyebrow. These notches are a Tyryykan tradition and usually represent when someone has broken their word or otherwise failed in a perceieved duty. Personality: Calder, like all members of the Order of Trinity, is an altruist at heart, however he believes that the Gods cause too much trouble and that Aheka would be better off of Humans were left to their own devices. Despite this, he is not hostile towards people who revere Deities, though they are often hostile to him, and has often worked with Clerics of Hiahel to heal people during crisis', like Ashtarte's invasion only a few years ago. Background: Little is known of Calder's upbrining as he is estranged from (what he describes as) his religious family however most who know him (rather than know of him) are aware that his 'notch' was the result of his refusal to worship the Deities his family (who were odd for Tyyrykans) did. What is known is that for the last 17 or so years he has wandered Aheka, more than capable of surviving using his magic on his own, and helping any who he comes across. Sonya, Walker of the Many Paths Race: Xolaran Aasimar. Sex: Female, though see below. Age: 31. Class: Unknown, see background. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Deity: Sonyaethe (despite him/her being dead). [img][/img] Description: Sonya has taken after her dead patron by shapeshifting periodically between two different forms: her natural, female, form, and a male form that is almost identicle, save for enough differences to make her appear to be an admitedly androdynous man. For the most part the two forms are identical; they both have long black hair tied into a braided pony-tail that reaches the small of the back; they both have green eyes; they both stand a little over six foot tall; and they both have a generally lean, fit, build that suggests some skill and fighting. Personality: Sonya is capricious and unpredictable for the most part. She does what she wants do to and goes where she wants to go, however she is also a woman of her word and loyal to those she calls friend (although there aren't many she does), as well as to those who promise her coin or, even better, artifacts that might be linked to Sonyaethe. The reverse is also true however - betray her, don't pay her or mislead her and you are very likely to become a target for some form of retribution, whether it be the sudden dissapearance of vast sums of your wealth with no trace of who might have done it and none of your guards remembering seeing anything, or a direct threat from her. As befits a worshipper of The Wanderer, Sonya rarely stays in one place long and typically only does so for work or friends. She also reacts very badly to any attempt to restrict her movement, whether it be physically (closing a door, grabbing her, etc.) or through other means (such as threatening to drag her back), or the movement of anyone she cares about. Background: Sonya is a Xolaran Nameless who's real name is generally unknown. She was born when The Wanderer constellation was clearest in the night sky and raised amongst a superstitious family and village that believed that this meant she was under its sway, a slave to a dead God's whims and bound to follow in his footsteps. Although this turned out to eventually be true, there is great debate over whether it was simply because she was raised with that expectation or not. Sonya left home shortly after coming of age, although exactly what she got up to during her early years by the time she was 19 she had set her sights on trying to find her missing God, believing him to still be alive but trapped somewhere, or perhaps resting. She spent the next five years studying her people's records, and even mucy of Nihl's, with no real luck, before deciding that the best pieces were either missing or privately owned. Sonya managed to track down one particularily promising tome that was in the possession of a Xolaran noble, breaking into his home to steal it and, due to a bit of bad luck, she was also forced to kidnap the man's only child, a girl a few years younger than her, in order to escape. Although she released the girl when she was safe this action branded her a criminal and resulted in her being declared Nameless, and she has rarely ventured back to her home country since. One of the greatest mysteries of Sonya is her powers, as she has displayed a bewildering array of abilities over the year, from supernatural effects, summoning weapons and cleaving people twice her size in two, which lead the Elder Monks of Nihl, who she has visited repeatedly, to give her a nickname that translated as "Walker of the Many Paths", which she has been known to boast of and take pride in. Sonya is currently a member of Walking Dead and most often works with Sabin (see People of the Eastern Continent, below) who she shares a common interest in the Demongate Wars with, albeit for different reasons. General Locke Steelshaper Race: Nihleese Warforged. Sex: Male. Age: 52. Class: Gate/Effigy Master. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Tiaan. Description: Locke is surprisingly small for a Warforged, and less bulky too, as he is constructed mostly of mithral and other lighter and less bulky materials. Without a doubt the Warforged's most striking feature is the fact that his face has been heavily modified (by himself no less) to allow him to create a surprisingly large variety of expressions. Although it is only recently he has modified himself in this way. Personality: Locke is dedicated to his country and also to his own kind. That is not to say he dislikes people, however he has dedicated his life to trying to perfect the faults of the Warforged that were never concidered to be worth fixing (since they were seen as weapons). Otherwise little is known about him, as he is quite reclusive and rarely travels due to his work. Background: Locke is the highest ranking Warforged Nilh has ever had. He is currently in charge of the so-called Broken Legion (although it is known to some as the Bastard Legion), which was created in the wake of the dissolution of the Warforged regiments 33 years ago. All the second generation (magic using) Warforged who decided to stay in the military were moved to the Broken Legion while the rest of their numbers tend to come from Half-Dragons/Fiends/Celestials/Trolls and similar half-breeds, which is how it gained its nickname of the Bastard Legion. Name Race: . Sex: . Age: . Class: . Alignment: . Deity: . Description: . Personality: . Background: . ~MTWC

People of the Eastern Continent
Keaira "Dead Eyes" Race: Elernan Sex: Female Age: 29 Class: Urban Ranger/Swashbuckler/Master Thrower/Invisible Blade Alignment: Chaotic Evil (though moving steadily towards amoral Chaotic Neutral) Deity: Deimos Description: Keaira has long auburn hair and grey eyes. She is fairly tall (around 6ft), very athletic and typically wears very flexible armour to make the most of her agility. Though far from homely, Keaira does not care for her appearance well enough to be considered beautiful, with the exception of her hair, which she is very protective of a. Pulling, cutting or otherwise damaging it is a surefire way to anger her and most likely lead to a fight. Personality: Keaira is a (borderline) sociopath who takes great joy and amusement in killing people, although, contrary to popular opinion, she is not the kind of person to randomly kill for no reason, although she has been known to kill for very minor things (such as refusing to get out of her favourite seat in a tavern). She also has no respect for laws, sometimes even going out of her way to break them even if its not something she would ordinarily do. She likewises detestes those who cling to 'law' and 'order'. Keaira is also well known for her foul language and constant threats to those around her (even her friends), although those used to her either ignore it or return the jabs, which rarely leads to an actual fight so long as they are actually friends with her (insulting her is otherwise a surefire way to have her threaten you with a dagger in or up a random orifice). Background: Very little is known of Keaira's background except that she is a Elernan Nameless who grew up in the streets of the capital's slums. She eventually gained a name for her ruthlessness, coldness and skill with a knife and became a hit-(wo)man for hire at a very young age. The real reason she was able to do this was that she was young enough at the time to be underestimated or ignored, and once she got older she became infamous and managed to cultivate a fearful reputation that ensured her continued work. Like most Elernans she holds a special hatred for Halvans, particularly Nobles. As a result, those who wish to see a Halvan dead often seek her out, as she sometimes does it for free or at a discounted price. Because of this she is one of the most wanted criminals in Halva, having killed more than her fair share of Nobles. As well as being a wanted criminal in Halva, Keaira is also wanted in her home country of Elern along with Tsuun, Nihl, Pharé, Shali, Aria, Ikra, Kast and Kaira in regards to suspected murders or other illegal activities. Just about the only 'safe' country for her is Sharak, however for unknown reasons she dislikes it and only visits for a job or when she needs to lie low (often using the Church of Deimos for both). Keaira is currently an active member of Walking Dead, the name of a loosely affiliated group of mercenaries started by Jin Iresoka 4 years ago and she is surprisingly loyal to 'The Boss' (how she refers to Jin) despite her general loner nature. She most often works with Misae Wiat (see People of the Southern Continent Part Three), a disgraced Shalian Eighth Knight and fellow member of Walking Dead, who has recently become a calming influence on her, at least until someone really annoys her. Keaira's nickname of "Dead Eyes" stems from two sources: firstly her trademark killing method of stabbing someone through the eye (or eyes) and secondly her trademark 'dead-eyed stare'. Sabin Race: Elernan Lakarn of Greed. Sex: Male. Age: 41. Class: Skillful Psionicist. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Deity: Ciilla. Description: Sabin makes no attempt to hide his outsider nature, even if the only hint at that is the black sacheas and red irises of his eyes, and tends to dress in smart but practical clothing. Surprisingly (for a Lakarn of Greed) he rarely wears jewelry, though he always seems to be carrying a small fortune concealed within his pockets according to thos who know him. Though he often slouches, making himself appear smaller, he is in fact around 6ft tall and can be surprisingly intimidating when he wants to be. Fortunately he disdains "hitting people with metal sticks" for the most part and prefers to bargain, barter and beguile people rather than harm them. Personality: Sabin is, as a Lakarn of Greed, almost wholly concerned with aquiring material goods, though he holds a particular interest in obtaining Artifacts and magic items dating back to the Demongate Wars and before. He is also a rather arrogant man and supremely confident in his own abilities (with good reason, see background below). Sabin is a well known flirt and despite rumours to the contrary, he is not nearly as much a slave to the 'sin' of lust as many would have others to believe. When he does decides to indulge in it, he always 'targets' unmarried Halvan noblewomen, though quite why is not known. Unlike most of his Elernan 'brothers and sisters' he does not hate Halvans and considers his people's blind hatred of them for something their ancesters did foolish. Background: Sabin is an 'alleged' (something he insists on people saying) master thief, accused and tried, but never convicted of, a long list of thefts in an equally long list of towns and cities. Unfortunately for Judgemasters and their ilk Sabin has never been proven guilty in any of the trials he has endured simply because no one has even been able to prove he took anything, let alone see him do as such. He is currently a member of Walking Dead and spends most of his time in the southern continent (primarily in either Sharak or halva). Brigadier Marin Pax, the Wraith of Wrath Race: Elernan. Sex: Male. Age: 42. Class: Psion (presumed Egoist). Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Fisali. Description: Marin Pax is not the most imposing of figures - being of average height, average build and possessing no intimidatin scars or tattoos. His black hair is cropped short in a typical military fashion, his eyes are a rather dull brown and he wears nothing beyond a basic uniform for is rank (albeit adorned with medals), with no weapons on him. He does, however, possess a penetrating stare and an impenetrable, impassive and indifferent mask which typically makes those unused to him uncomfortable. Personality: Marin Pax is a patriot and a great believer in the rule of law. This does not mean he will blindly follow orders however, as he has defied superiors when he believes a greater good can be accomplished by doing so, accpeting the consequences of his actions. Although he is harsh with those who serve him he is also even-handed, treating even those who have served him for years without mistake the same as someone only recently out of training. He is known to (seemingly) deliberately make others uncomfortable and to try to catch people out, such as by giving his men orders they should not follow to see if they will stand up to him and to ensure they actually know what to do, rather than follow him blindly. Background: Marin Pax's grandfather was one of the key rebels involved in the Elernan Rebellion, fighting alongside Netra Thane. His grandfather was also one of the founders of the Citadel - the name given to the sprawling psionic academy just outside Arsinoh where the those with the greatest psionic talent go. Unlike similar academies across Aheka (such as the Dragonblaze Institute in Halvanna which specialises in Sorcery) a place in the Citadel can not be bought - entrance to it is strictly controlled and only those with the greatest talent are allowed to study there. It is telling how well this is enforced by the fact that only one of King-Commander Netra Thane's children was accepted and that it was not his heir, the currently ruling Queen-Commander Satria Thane. Marin, however, was accepted into the Citadel and as a result little is known of his early years. He is famous for his time serving in the Elernan bandit patrols where he earned his nickname "the Wraith of Wrath" (or, sometimes, the Wrathful Wraith) because not once did those he hunted notice his presence until he was upon them and it was too late. Petty bandits were merely incapacitated while those who had committed serious crimes, such as murder, were summarily executed by him. Brigadier Wade Varius, the Black Wind Race: Elernan (with Halvan features). Sex: Male. Age: 32. Class: Nomad [Psion]. Alignment: True Neutral. Deity: Unknown. Description: Wade is a rather odd-looking man, although no one can quite place why. While he has Halvan features, they are not uncommon in Elern due to their time under Halva's thumb. His eyes are a cool grey colour, a little uncommon but not remarkable. His hair is black and cut short enough not to obscure his sight - perhaps a little uncommon for a man of his rank, but again, nothing special. Perhaps it is the perpetual half-grin he seems to have, or the wry full-fledged smile he gives to people in greeting, or maybe it is simply because he wears a uniform meant for a man larger than he. Personality: Wade is a surprisingly laid-back man for his position, something most find typically jarring when first meeting him. Even his smiles are typically lazy, lop-sided grins, and his words drawled, while he often slouches when not in the company of a superior officer, making him appear smaller than his 6ft and a bit frame would typically suggest. Those who have seem him fight, or seen him act when he needs to act see why he has gained such a high position so young because he is effortlessly efficient - almost lazy again - with how he fights or even how he sums up an argument in a single sentance what it would take most to say in a paragraph. It surprised no one, then, when they learn Wade is like this is most aspects of his life. He seeks the seemingly lazy option not because he does not want to work or feels compelled to do something half-arsed, but to make the most of his time, energy and attention. Correspondingly, the worst thing you can do is waste his time, energy, or attention, something those who serve him learn very quickly. Background: Wade is a Nameless raised in one of the Elernan orphanages started by Netra Thane after the Rebellion, when many mothers and fathers were killed, leaving their children without carers. Specifically, Wade is what is known in Elern as a second-generation Nameless - a Nameless adopted by another Nameless. Wade gained his nickname, the Black Wind, because of the distinctive distortion he leaves whenever he teleports and that precides his arrival - a series of black horizontal "waves". Elernan soldiers have learnt to look forward to this call sign, while bandits and pirates dread it as Wade by himself is a handful, but fighting the "riff raff" is hardly worth his attention and as such the Black Wind usually heralds the arrival of a much larger force. Sei'Eil[eti] Race: Rinnish Wood Elf-touched Sex: Female Age: 31 Class: Druid/Beast Warden Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Alainn Personality: Sei'Eil, as she is most often known now, is a reserved woman, slow to smile and equally slow to frown, however her passions run deep so you can be sure when she does show emotion it will be surprisingly intense. As a devout worshipper of Alainn and having once been a Beast Warden of very good standing in Rinn she has a great love for the natural word but she also strongly believes that the civilised lands and the wild lands need to co-operate more, rather than being as insular as many other Druids. She even claims that even cities have a voice, a life, a soul of their own, just like the forests of the world. Background: Sei'Eil was once a rising Beast Warden of Rinn, known for trying to bridge the gap between the wild and urban areas of Rinn, as well as the people who lived there. Unfortunately all this changed when, for reasons that are unknown, she killed the son of a powerful Rinnish noble. Sei'Eil was imprisoned, tortured, and was days away from being executed for her crime before Jester offered her a lifeline: agree to take part in the Seis'kerta and to join the Sei if she passes and he would give her her freedom and ensure her family were not mistreated. Sei'Eil agreed, however the nobleman was not pleased about the interference, and insisted that she at least be exiled and declared Nameless for her crimes, Sei or no. The nobleman also insisted that she never talk of the events that transpired - both her crime and her time in prison - which many people take to mean that she was somehow justified in her actions. Sei'Eil successfully took part in the Seis'lerta five years ago and has done her best to continue her work bridging the gap between the wild parts of Aheka and the urban areas that seem to be growing ever more dominant, however she has yet to set foot back on the Eastern Continent during the past five years, for fear she would be tempted to return to the home she was forced to abbandon. Sei'Eil is always accompanied by her Psuedodragon companion, Darabraneir (usually shortned to Daneir), who has quickly become infamous for his ability to annoy people he doesn't like (which appears to be most everyone), as well as his fierce loyalty to Sei'Eil (even if he can sometimes be just as annoying to her). Kanan Rudaa Race: Quallish. Sex: Female. Age: 53. Class: Sorcerer/Storm Sage. Alignment: True Neutral. Deity: Tahllys. Description: Kanan's hair has already mostly greyed from its previous brown, however her green eyes are just as bright as they always were. Although a mage she has taken to wearing druidic robes and garbs due to her time amongst the Rudaa. Personality: Kanan is calculating, shrewd and surprisingly friendly for a woman of such high station, all traits carried over from her time growing up in one of the few merchant families in Quall. She is also considered somewhat of a Maverick to most Quallish and a believer that Quall can no longer maintain its introverted policies so completely. Background: Kanan was born into a well-off merchant family, making her a part of the relatively tiny middle class in the country (especially compared to other nations), which is how they were able to afford to send her to an arcane academy in the capital to develop her talent for sorcery. During her time there she met her first Rudaa, who she had idolised as a child, and became quick friends. Unfortunately it was not to last, as it emerged she was one of those who's Aud had caused irreparable internal damage to and she died only a few years into their training, although not before extracting a promise from the young Kanan that she has refused to share to this day (although most believe it was to become a Storm Sage, as the Rudaa herself had wanted to). Eventually, Kanan attracted more attention from the Rudaa when she spent two weeks in the Storm Spires in preperation for learning the art of the Storm Sage. Unsurprisingly, given how valuable the Rudaa saw Storm Sages to their gene pool, she was immediately approached by several families interested in marrying her to one of their sons, however she turned them down. This continues for several years before a Rudaa by the name of Nellin approached her himself and, instead of asking to marry her, as others had done, he courted her in the more traditional sense. Two years later and the two were married with Kanan expecting her first of six children. Currently, Kanan is one of the Rudaa representatives in the Quallish Council and seen as a useful figure for her outside sources (as she has maintained much of her merchant ties through her non-Rudaa family) and better understanding of the hazards facing ordinary Quallish citizens which the Rudaa often find difficult to comprehend at times given their relative isolation and completely different upbringing. Prince Marcell Thane, Brigadier of the Elernan Citadel Corps Race: Elernan. Sex: Male. Age: 30. Class: Psychic Warrior/Hidden Blade. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: ? Description: . Personality: Little is known of Marcell's character beyond that he is a man of his word and that he greatly values order and discipline. Background: Marcell is the man in charge of what is known most widely as the Citadel Corps - a division of several regiments in which most of the members have come from The Citadel, which is the name of the mot prestigious academy in Elern, open only to the most talented individuals and with no exceptions (not even the Royal Family are permitted to get in if they don't meet the requirements and Queen Satria Thane was unable to get in). The Citadel Corps is the most elite branch of the Elernan military as a result, since it takes in the bulk of Citadel graduates and a lot of the best that other academies have to offer. Name Race: . People of the Southern Continent* (Part One)
* - Except for Halvan Nobles (inc. Kinships) and members of the Halvan military, each of which have their own thread. Jin Iresoka Race: Arian [Serokai] Sex: Male Age: 24 Class: Swordsage/Bladedancer of Aria Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: Fisali Description: Jin stands just short of 6ft and is of slight build (making it apparent to most that he is a dextrous fighter). He has messy brown hair and bright blue eyes (though only one is visible). Due to loosing the use of his right eye five years ago (see background) Jin is blind in one eye, and wears a mask that has the right eye-hole filled in. While a lot of his personality has changed since the encounter that changed his life, Jin still often slouches, and has a generally lazy demeaner and stance, even when in a fight and actually paying his full atention to something (which he is generally doing constantly, being highly perceptive). Due to the mask, Jin's voice is distorted slightly, though it's magical nature means it is not muffled, merely that it sounds unnatural. He generally drawls when speaking, which is inkeeping with his lazy demeaner, and so draws out his vowels when talking with people. Jin only removes his mask when he washes or eats (both of which he tends to do in private when possible), though he is not ashamed of his face or his scar, the mask is mostly symbolic and he flaunts the fact that, even with one eye, he is an incredibly skilled and talented fighter and still possesses senses far superior to most others. Personality: Jin is rather stoic and not very talkative, though he is not especially silent either (just rather 'average'). He is very confident (though not overtly arrogant), has a lot of pride in his fighting skills and loves nothing more than a challenge. He has little patience for those who blindly follow laws, and respects anyone who can hold their own in a fight (including with magic) as well as anyone who has their own moral code/ethics, rather than simply following someone elses, even if he does not agree with them. His sense of humour is very dark and sarcastic, and he is not a particular friendly or unfriendly person, rarely making friends or enemies (or at least people he considers enemies, there are a lot of people who consider him an enemy, mostly people he has crippled in a fight or families of people he has fought and/or killed). The most important thing in Jin's life is becoming stronger, and it is because of this he seeks out challenges, always wanting to test his limits and scorning those who wish to simply stay as they are, believeing change and improvement are needed and that those who simply wish to 'stay as' are fools at best. Background: Jin was born into the Serokai family, although he now goes by the psuedonym 'Iresoka' (an annagram of Serokai), who are widely considered the most influential Kinship and one of, if not the most powerful. Jin was heralded as the most talented Serokai produced for generations, and as such much was expected of him, robbing him of his old dream of having a simple life, marrying and having 'a couple of children'. Roughly five years ago, when he had made quite the name for himself in his local area for his exploits and notoriously lethargic personality (that belied an incredibly sharp mind), Jin, along with his team-mates (and now friends) for the preliminary tests of the Seis'kerta, Lenaar and Cajien, was given a bodyguarding job for a well-liked public figure, whom several assassins had tried to murder. No one, including Jin's family, expected that whoever wanted the man dead would go to the lengths he did, as Jin was pitted against a powerful demon, far beyond his ability to fight, let alone defeat. Jin survived the encounter with only a few scars and no serious injuries, however the Demon had enjoyed torturing the man as Jin was helpless to do anything, and, after finally killing him, used various illusionary spells to mentally torture the young swordsage as well. Lenaar and Cajien managed to eventually save their friend and comrade but, while his physical wounds healed, Jin became a broken individual, and his family tried their best to help him by re-introducing him to the normal aspects of his life, including pushing to have him continue in the Seis'kerta. All through the tournament Jin was obviously the superior combatant, however his unusually sharp mind was elsewhere most of the time, making the fights more difficult for him than they should be. All of this changed in the final fight, when Jin seemed to deliberately move into a strike by his opponent, that forever blinded him in his right eye. It was this act that was the catalyst for Jin to focus again, although instead of becoming the man he once was, he instead grabbed the man's sword, seemingly unbothered by his useless eye that was still dripping with blood, and cripplied him in a single well-aimed strike, despite having never used a sword before. Such an act was taboo amongst his family, who had forsaken the use of weapons due to a time in their past when they were mere barbarians, slaughtering others with iron and steel. Jin was, as a result, exiled by his family and stripped of the surname of Serokai. After his exile, Jin started his life over again as a wandering sellsword, learning to better use weapons along the way, and still honing some of his Serokai training in the process too. He had begun the process of making sure he was never in the same position as he found himself against the demon again, even if it meant carving a bloody swath through the entire world. He is currently the leader of a loose afiliation of powerful mercenaries, most of whom are Nameless, by birth and/or exile, called Walking Dead, which he started roughly four years ago. The other members are Lyandé Ult Ohta (see below), Sabin (see People of the Eastern Continent, above), Sonya (see People of the Northern Continent), Keiara "Dead-Eyes" (see People of the Eastern Continent, above), Flux (see People of the Southern Continent Part Two, below), Misae Wiat (see People of the Southern Continent Part Three, below) and Drake Spellcarved (see People of the North-Western Continent, below). Jin's location is currently unknown, though it is known he is performing some kind of investigation job for Kerberos. Lyandé Ult Ohta Race: Ikran Atralumi Sex: Female Age: 27 Class: Illusionist/Master Specialist Alignment: True Neutral Deity: Fisali Description: Lyandé rarely removes her mask, using magic to clean herself if she can not get privacy and relying on her magic ring for sustenance, and as a result her true appearance is generally unknown save for the fact that she has white-blonde hair and red eyes. Her skin has also tanned during her travel and she has picked up a few tattoos across both of her shoulders and going down her arms. Personality: Lyandé is generally quiet, preferring to simply fellow Jin and do as he says/does, however when she does deign to speak or act on her own, it is always with the Serokai in mind - she is utterly devoted to him. This unquestioning loyalty has led most to believe she is in love with Jin. Lyandé has also revealed a very sharp and perceptive mind, like most Atralumi, and unlike most of her kin (including her brother) she displays more of her Fiendish heritage than Celestial, which is theorised to be the reason she does not display many of the normal Atralumi eccentricities (such as an unusual speech pattern) although those foolish enough to try and pierce her mind have discovered it is just as chaotic as the rest of her kind, she just does not show it as much. Background: Little is known of Lyandé, especially with the focus typically being on Jin, however it is known that she has a brother who afiliates himself with the church of Deimos and that she is a former member of the Selvas Kinship (her entire name being a pseudonym she has taken after her exile). The exact details of her exile are not known, as there are several, often conflicting, rumours on why she was branded a Nameless by a Kinship famous for its tolerance, however even now the Selvas Kinship refer to her as 'The Fiend of Sight and Sound', a reference to her complete mastery of illusions. Lyandé is currently a member of Walking Dead and goes wherever its leader, Jin (see above), goes. The pair of them are working with Kerberos at the moment in an attempt to decipher how the Fiends managed to get past Fisali's defences into Aheka five years ago, though their location is unknown. Marius Nox (most often referred to simply as 'Nox') Race: Ikran Aasimar Sex: Male Age: ? Class: Cleric/Divine Agent/Scorned of Deimos Alignment: Neutral Evil Deity: Deimos Personality: Nox, as he is most often called, is very similar to in personaliy to Deimos, his patron and, while irrevocably evil, looks after his own just as Deimos does. Nox is also very much a diplomat rather than a warrior, though he is very capable of fighting and spellcasting as well, his main goal, as is Deimos', is to convert. Background: Little is known of Nox's past, however what is known is that he was once a Cleric of the Twilight Wolf, following in the footsteps of his celestial ancester, however he was sent on what proved to be an impossible task. Nox was sent to convert or kill a Cleric of Deimos who had been discovered nearby however, upon confronting the Cleric and subsequently attempting to sway him, Nox quickly realise that this was no ordinary Cleric. In fact, it was no Cleric at all, but Deimos himself, walking the mortal world as he often does, and he had plans for the young Nox, who was not nearly strong enough to stand alone against the most powerful Demi-God in Aheka. Ever since his conversion, Nox has steadily risen within Deimos' ranks, knowing better than most how powerful a weapon faith and conversion is, making him in particular an enemy of all good deities for his corruptive influence. Few dare to attack him though for all know that Deimos looks after his own... The Oracle Race: Thought to be an Elf-touched or some sort. Sex: Female. Age: Unknown, see background. Class: Cleric/Divine Oracle/Contemplative. Alignment: True Neutral. Deity: Unknown, presumed none. Description: The Oracle rarely appears in public and rarer still, travels outside of Ikra. As a result there are numerous (and often contradictory) accounts of her appearance. The few constants are Elven features of some sort, long golden blonde hair and a veil covering the top half of her face. The latter in particular has lead to the rumour that she is blind. Personality: Since The Oracle rarely interacts with others, not much is known about her personality except that, as a result of her immensely powerful seer abilities, she can not always tell reality from vision and as a result can be very difficult to follow or understand. She can switch between being lucid to unintelligible in a heartbeat. Background: The Oracle is the true power of Ikra, guarded fiercely by their High Lord (effectively Ikra's king), and also the one responsible for both choosing the next High Lord and in deciding if and when the current High Lord is no longer fit to rule. Her word in these matters is absolute and people from all walks of life have arisen to become Ikra's High Lord at her command (the current High Lord was a commoner for instance). However, this power and a few other minor ones are all the direct influence that The Oracle has and, contrary to popular belief, she does not function as the leader of Ikra, merely as their own personal Seer and Advisor, though it is not known quite how often she advises the King with knowledge of her visions. The Oracle's history is a mystery. The earliest records of her existence were shortly after the Betrayer Wars when she was instrumental in the formation of the new country of Ikra. Since that day she has been guarded by a private army in the large mountain range in the north east of Ikra (which leads into both Aria and Halva), not far from the domain of Lalian Shedeth. Only those invited by The Oracle may step onto this hallowed ground and those who have done so without her permission are immediately executed by her protectors, a mixture of Ikran patriots and those who worship the Oracle as a Goddess. Whether The Oracle is a deity of some sort is hotly debated, however she is known to not grant spells or answer prayers. Lucretia Ardin Race: Shalian Tiefling. Sex: Female. Age: 33. Class: Bard/Paladin of Freedom/Paladin of Trinity. Alignment: Chaotic Good. Deity: None, she upholds the ideals of Trinity instead of worshipping Deities. Description: Lucretia has the red eyes and demonic tail common to Tieflings, though she lacks horns, making it easier to hide her heritage compared to most Tieflings, both mundanely and/or with magic. She has light brown hair, stands at a few inches over five and a half feet and has a very lean build, making it obvious she is very fit and healthy but not overly muscular. Lucretia most often wears a chainshirt, however it is enchanted with magic to disguise its appearance and Lucretia herself rarely appears as herself, favouring disguises to avoid negative attention due to being a Tiefling. She has also attracted various enemies who would likely nothing more than to see her dead, mostly amoung the worshippers of Evil deities such as Malvain, Deimos and Ashtarte. Personality: When not acting like someone else to avoid discovery, Lucretia is a somewhat 'bi-polar' individual. She can switch between being animatedly talking to someone to staring dejectedly and somberly at nothing, as if recalling a painful memory. Likewise, she usually comes off as either a loner or a talkative and cheery person, however few know her even this well. Background: Lucretia is the adoptive daughter of the most well known Paladin of Trinity: Nero Ardin. Nero Ardin was once a member of the Obsidian Order, a Paladin Order closely associated with Ruaci's clergy, however he grew disenchanted with their unflinching ways and increasing dedication to Law over altruism. Chaffing against his superiors Nero begun to wander, eventually coming to a small Shalian town where a Tiefling had been born and, with the full support of the town's Cleric of Ruaci, was about to be killed. Nero saved the Tiefling babe, but as a result he was branded a traitor and cast out of his Order. Nero adopted the Tiefling despite still being a young man at the time, naming her Lucretia, and did his best to raise her to rebel against the pull of her Fiendish heritage, something which was far from easy. Several years passed before Nero heard of the ideals of Trinity, but it was soon after that he petioned to join the Order, believing that he had finally found what he was looking for. What followed was almost a decade and a half of various good deeds, some as small as helping a peasant, and some as large as slaying Fiends that had managed to slip into Aheka. Ironically for one who had taken a Tiefling for a daughter, it was a Demon that eventually killed Nero, though the type varies depending on who is telling the story, and even more ironically, it was in reponse to its 'invasion' of the very same village that Lucretia was born in. The Demon, along with others of its kind, had terrorised the small village for several weeks, cutting off all contact with the outside world and (eventually) killing any who attempted to escape. Though Nero managed to slay the strongest of the Demons, leading to the others fleeing, he died from his wounds shortly thereafter. His final words, according to rumours and heresay, were directed towards the villages who blamed Lucretia's birth for causing the Demons to come, imploring them to stop hating less they become just as bad as the Demons they hate. Though Nero's body was later returned to the Order of Triniy, many of his most cherished possessions, including his Amulet of Trinity, were missing. While some blame the peasants for stealing these valuable items, others blame the Tiefling, but most of those in the Order, as well as those who knew Nero and Lucretia, suspect that somewhere in Aheka Nero's adoptive daughter has taken it upon herself to continue her father's work. For the last 18 years or so, Lucretia has tirelessly fought to uphold her father's ideals and prove those who doubted her and other Tieflings wrong, however it is very difficult tracing anything specific to her, as she has a number of known aliases and likely many more unknown ones. Lucretia has gained some fame in Halva recently, as she happened to be there 5 years ago when the Demons invaded, and managed to save at least three hundred lives (though many claim more) in a slew of fights and flights against Fiends and (sadly) Humans alike. Her most famous deed of these few hours was when she defended a temple of Airis in the centre of the capital, Halvanna, and which was overflowing with casualties, from a hoarde of Fiends, along with a handful of Halvan Guards that happened to be nearby when the fighting broke out. She even managed to save two of the Guards, healing fatal wounds after she and the others had finally managed to drive off the Fiends. ~MTWC

People of the Southern Continent* (Part Two)
* - Except for Halvan Nobles (inc. Kinships) and members of the Halvan military, each of which have their own thread. Alsei Meliae Race: Feytouched or Half-Fey Halvan (given her shapeshifting abilities, its difficult to determine what her true race is). Sex: Female. Age: Unknown, though she's been around for at least around three centuries. Class: Ranger/Master of Many Forms/War Shaper. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Deity: None, reveres nature. Description: Alsei is quite petite in her natural form, and, unsurprisingly, has particularly enchanting features no doubt inhereted from her Fey grandmother. She has wispy white hair and icy blue eyes that make most who make eye contact think of the winter. When she is not in another form or otheriwse performing her duties she wears very Fey-like clothing (if any), though it is rare for her to do so in front of others, as she is slow to trust people enough to see her in such a state. Personality: Alsei is every bit as playful and capricious as the Nymphs she is decended from, though this is tapered by a deeper understanding of Humans than most of them have. She is also far more likely to be found in urban areas than they are, being sent by her grandmother to help preserve nature by manipulation within 'civilisation', resulting in her often having to act differently to her own views and opinions. Alsei is most well known for her misanthropy, which is rather ironic as she is mostly Human herself., which can often cross over into borderline hatred for Humans (or at least certain groups of Humans). Background: Alsei is the daughter of a Half-Fey (her father) and a Human (her mother). She was not raised by either though, her father being a chronic wanderer and a very apathetic parent, while her mother had never wanted her in the first place. Surprisingly, her paternal grandmother, a Nymph Druid took an interest in her, raising her with much more care an attention than she did her vagabond son. That is not to say she was especially loved (though she was spoilt and dotted on when she was a child), her grandmother was raising her because she saw in her grandchild a chance to covertly influence civilisation in an attempt to stop the destruction they were causing to nature. As a result, Alsei initially recieved training as a Wild Ranger, so that she would understand what damage civilisation is doing to nature, and was then taught the difficult task of mastering her wild shape abilities, starting down the path of the Master of Many Forms. She was also anointed as a guardian of Fey interests, and blessed with eternal youth be the Seelie and Unseelie courts, making her technically over 300 years old. She has since been working partially in urban areas and partially within her usual forest home, though typically only going back to the forests when a message is sent or she needs to speak with her grandmother. She poses as a variety of guises, some fictional, some well known and suffering mysterious 'heart attacks' after making a, or indeed many, strange decision(s). Despite her dedication to her cause, she has a strong chaotic bent, that can sometimes get her into trouble, as she is slightly racist towards non-Fey (which is rather ironic, as she herself is only 1/4 Fey), in particular towards Humans (again ironic, as she is 3/4 Human) and loves nothing more than humilating or pranking those who particularly grate her. While she is both somewhat famous and infamous, most things attributed to her can not be proven, as she is a master shapeshifter and very good at both deceiving and manipulating people. Anorde Race: Halvan Sex: Male Age: 33 Class: ? Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: Fisali Description: Despite being a Nameless, Anorde always dresses smartly, if a little eccentrically at times, and has a penchance for wearing silly accessories for no apparent reason other than to annoy others and/or amuse himself. He is tall with a rather lithe build, claiming to possess Elven blood though most do well not to pay too much attention to everything the silver tongued Mercenery King claims. Regardless of the siutation, Anorde can most often be found grinning or smirking at one thing or another and, when asked why, he ususally answers something along the lines of "The most disarming thing in the world is a smile, well...unless you have a sword and a quick wrist, but that's beside the point". Personality: Anorde is eccentric, at least, that is how those who know and/or like him describe him as, most just refer to him as crazy. Neither is really true as most of those who look beyond appearance soon gather as Anorde uses his odd behaviour and appearance to manipulate people, make them underestimate him or to just generally fool around. For this reason, he is someone most are cautious around, whether they think him crazy, a fool, eccentric or very intelligent, regardless of which one, he is certainly not a man to be taken lightly. Background: Anorde is a Nameless from Halva and probably the most famous Nameless in all of Halva bar the likes of Nykal. He is also the leader of the very large, and surprisingly unimaginateivly named, Anorde's Merceneries, who are the most prolofric mercenry group in all of Aheka except for a handful of Aheka's Kinships (most notably the Kigo, Serokai, Ailen and Vash). He is also famed for his information network and huge number of contacts, making him the first point of contact for a lot of business for most people in Halva, however his eccentric ways often throw off more cautiaus people. He is also a staunch supporter of the Halvan slums, taking most of his mercenaries from there, holding most of his business there and, in fact, spending most of his time there. Anorde has many friends, allies and business partners, however the most notable ones are Cajien Vash, who Anorde has known for years, and the Pixie, Celi, who is Anorde's self-proclaimed 'bestestfriendinthewholeworld' (she is known for her habit of speaking incredibly quickly), a fact that is probably true as she is one of the few people that rarely leaves his side, which she only does to deliver important messeges or gather urgent information for the Mercenary King. Anan, the Butcher of Eight Peaks Race: Shalian Vampire Sex: Male Age: 41 (still appears to be in his mid-twenties) Class: Monk Alignment: Lawful Evil Deity: None, though see background. Description: At a few inches under 6ft and only a little over 150lbs, Anan is not the most imposing of figures at first glance though, for Humans in particular, there is something scary about his unnaturally cold looking icy-blye eyes. He typically wears loose-fitting clothing, since mobility is his greatest form of defence, however he never liked traditional Monk clothing and more often resembles a mage instead as a result. Personality: Even before becoming a vampire, Anan was very disillusioned with the world and his kin, mostly due to being abbandoned by his birth-mother at a Shalian monestry effectively in the middle of no-where, deep within the Eight Peak mountains (named for being the place that Fisali ended the war from), in the north of Shali. In the 14 years or so that he has been a vampire, this disillusionment has turned into hate, mostly directed at his Shalian kin, as he considers the vast majority of them to be worthy of nothing more than to be fed upon. His opinion of Humans as a whole is not much better, though he is much more accepting of Human hybrids and often considers them fellow outcasts. Despite his misanthropy, Anan has somewhat of a 'weakness' for attractive women (particularly Elf-touched women and those with Outsider heritage) which stems from the influence of his sire, who encouraged him to indulge in the base desires considered tabboo by the Monks who raised him. Background: Anan was raised within the now abbandoned Eight Peaks Monestary, located in the middle of no-where within the Eight Peak mountains in the north of Shali. It was built there by worshippers of Fisali, though it was mostly used (and inhabited by) Monks dedicated to Fisali rather than Clerics. He was abbandoned there by his mother (who he believes was a Cleric of Fisali, since there was no other reason to be at the monestary) and raised by them to revere The Eighth, particularly her fate and destiny aspects however he was never a devout worshipper. Despite not being as ferverant in his beliefs as most of his fellow Monks and his (at the time) mild misanthropy, Anan did embrace the order they instilled with him however he was never one for working with others and often forsook training or meditating with his fellow monks in favour of wandering into the mountains to do it by himself. Seeing this as his own way of seeking enlightenment his masters allowed it, however it would end in tragedy for both him and them, for it was during one such sojourn that Anan was attacked and turned into a Vampire. After spending a little over a week with his sire, allowing him time to learn how to properly use his new powers and time for his sire to start Anan down the thoroughly cold-hearted path he now walks, the young Vampire returned to his monestary alone, much to the relief of his fellow Monks who had feared him dead. During the night however, he slaughtered all of them but one, defaced the temple and destroyed countless artifacts and relics of Fisali as well as trying to bring down the monestary itself (he only partially succeeded, making parts of it collapse). He left the one survivor alive deliberately, a Nameless teenager called Marcia, wanting the Eighth's Clergy to learn of what he had done and hoping that his birth-mother heard the news as a result. Because of this, Anan is infamous in Shali and hunted by Fisali's clergy, though every time they have attempted to seek revenge on him, he escapes their grasp. It is also the origin of his nickname: "the Butcher of Eight Peaks". In the last decade Anan has managed to kill his sire through trickery, making him a free vampire, and he has since operated within Halva (though no one has been able to find out where exactly, as he has been seen all over the place) and ignores Lalian's Caveat, wanting nothing to do with any Deities, even the Deity of Vampires. Anan is known to have four main vampiric companions, all of them women. The most well known of them is Elita, an Aasimar Knight who was one of the first vampires Anan sired after he freed himself from his master. The other three are; Alba, a Shalian Fire Genasi ranger who also fell into Anan's cluthes shortly after he gained his independence; Aven, a Halvan Elf-touched Druid who he has only recently turned and who is suspected to have simply been int he wrong place at the wrong time; and Rhona, a part-Fey Tyryykan Warlock who was originally hired to kill Anan, but who was captured and turned into a Vampire by him instead. It is rumoured that Anan has connections with Walking Dead, though the nature of the loosely affiliated mercenary group makes it difficult to confirm as many are under the false impresion that they are some kind of criminal syndicate, rather than a loosely affiliated group of powerful mercenaries. Luce Race: Shadowkin Sharakan. Sex: Male. Age: Unknown, see background. Class: Ninja/Fighter/Ghost-Faced Killer. Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Deity: None. Description: As a Shadowkin, Luce's skin and short hair are pitch-black, while his eyes are yellow, though few see the colour of his eyes because he almost constantly wears a pair of magical goggles that diminish his weakness to and within light. His clothing and equipment are just as dark as his skin, even his signature Kukri's are deliberately coated in a substance that makes them as dark as the shadows themselves, eliminating any glint from shiny metal that might otherwise herald his arrival. Personality: Luce is, in his own words, a survivor. He does what he needs to, when he needs to, to who he needs to and shows no remorse over any of his actions. He is also rather arrogant, though usually not especially verbal about it as he prefers to let his actions do the talking. Contrary to popular opinion, he neither has a code of ethics (some wrongfully believe he will not fight an unarmed opponent) nor does he take pleasure in killing others (though he takes pride in his fighting ability), however he does appear to have a soft spot for children, having supposedly gone out of his way to kill those who are a danger to them should they ever cross paths. Generally speaking though, it all comes down to his life over everyone elses. Background: Luce is a Nameless, most likely by birth though no one is entirely sure as Luce himself destroyed all records of his birth and early life in his continued efforts to evade the ever growing list of people who want to find him (usually to kill him). Many mistakingly believe him to be an assassin for hire, though the truth is he is usually the one who assassins are sent after, though there is no denying his skill at killing others. During his continued fight for survival Luce has angered various people, both mundane and powerful, commoner and noble, and as a result he is often called "the most wanted man in Aheka". Amoung his most powerful enemies (as well as the reason why) are; the Church of Deimos (for killing several members of the Church at various points during his life); the Kigo and Chathema Kinships (for killing many of their assassins); the Shades (for killing one of them while they were spying in Sharak); and most of the countries in Aheka for killing one person or another. As a result of this, Luce is constantly on the move, rarely stays in one place, and has few allies, let alone friends. He is very well informed of Aheka's underground though, as he spies on it to find out who is hunting him, and the few who he does trust do well not to reveal it to anyone, since it would make them a target to a great many people across Aheka. Flux Race: Sharakan. Sex: Unknown, presumed male (see personality). Age: Unknown. Class: Wizard. Alignment: True Neutral. Deity: None. Description: As a shapeshifter, Flux's appearance is a great mystery however he has shown a preference towards appearing young (generally in his 20's) and tends to prefer male forms to female ones. For reasons unknown (though generally ascribed to some kind of magic item in his possession, or perhaps some kind of spell he has invented) even True Seeing and similar effects do not reveal Flux's true appearance - instead they simply see a vague humanoid-shaped outline which simply proves he is using magic to change his shape. Personality: Unlike most well-known shapeshifters, such as the infamous Mask, Flux generally does not attempt to hide his presence and uses his shapeshifting in a very loose manner (such as playing tricks on people or by mimicing someone instead of giving a physical description). In fact, he often claims he adopted the alias of "Flux" simply because "it sounded good", not out of any real need or wish to hide his identity. He has also made a game of his secret identity and is more than happy to listen to the arguments that the latest person who believes they've figured out who he is makes, even if he simply laughs afterwards and tells them that they are wrong. He is generally assumed to be male for two main reasons. Firstly, he rarely takes on the form of a woman, and most of the time when he does it is for his own amusement, to provide a description, because he's drunk, or (often) some kind of combination of the three. Secondly, he is a known lover of women, who he is not above tricking to get their attention (though claims to have never pretended to be a husband or lover of theirs without revealing it before anything happens). Background: Given his unknown identity, nothing is really known about Flux's life unless he talks about it, but he's also known to make wild exaggerations and outright make up stories if he thinks it sounds better and will attract a larger (and more female) audience. Fortunately, despite operating under an alias Flux does not make any real attempts to hide and can be found remarkably easily once you know what city he is in (just head to the nearest drinking establishment, starting with the one known for having more women). For the most part his professional career as a mercenary has been surprisingly mundane, as he views his shapeshifting more as a source of amusement than as a tool to be used during his work, though he is fond of confusing his enemies by changing his appearance mid-battle. During his professional travels Flux eventually met up with a Pharéan Warforged called Drake Spellcarved (see People of the North-Western Continent) and the two struck up one of the more superficially bizarre relationships known to the public, although those who know the two of them admit they are actually remarkably similar in many regards. Along with Drake, Flux was invited to join Walking Dead 4 years ago and has been working mostly with his Warforged friend as a part of the loose-knit mercenary group made up mostly of exiles, outcasts and vagabonds. Prince Xander Alexein, the Grey Prince of Shali Race: Shalian Aasimar. Sex: Male. Age: 32. Class: Battlemage/Eighth Knight. Alignment: Neutral Good. Deity: Fisali. Description: Xander has the blond hair typical of the Alexein family, however his grey eyes are an uncommon occurance within the family and the reason he has been dubbed "the Grey Prince" by many, as it is one of the distinguishing features between he and his two older brothers. Personality: Xander is a man concerned only with doing the best for his people and for the people of Aheka at a whole. He takes his responsibilities as a Shalian Prince and an Eighth Knight very seriously however he has precious little patience for politics or politicians, unlike his brothers who thrive in Shali's cut-throat political battlefields. As a result, Xander is most often used as the face of the Alexein family, particularly in any situation regarding the commoners, whom Xander is very popular with, a fact which Xander tolerates only because it allows him to look out for his people's interest while simultaneusly staying away from the Shalian politians who consider him a threat and giving him the occasional opportunity to subvert their authority. As is to be expected from an Eighth Knight, Xander strongly believes that Shali should hold on to its traditions (namely their duty to guard Eight Peaks), however he is also one of the most influential backers for the campaigns for equal rights for women and non-Shalians within the country. Background: Xander is the third son and child of King Faen Alexein, the current ruler of Shali, and the only member of his family other than Faen himself that holds any affection for Celes Alexein, his half-sister and Faen's only (known) illegitimate child. Because of her well known origins, Celes is often referred to as the Bastard Princess, and rarely leaves the palace or receives visitors (other than Faen and Xander that is). Xander has been an Eighth Knight since his mid-twenties, a duty that sometimes interferes with or otherwise takes him away from/distracts him from his Princely duties. For the most part this is only tolerated because the Eighth Knights are such an important group to Shalians as a whole and because he has two older brothers who handle most of the political matters. Because of his responsibilities as an Eighth Knight Xander is the most travelled of the Shalian Royal Family and the only one of them who travels without a full escort (although due to his importance Xander is always accompanied by at least one other Eighth Knight when he travels, if not two or more). Despite this and other preferential treatment given him, most Eighth Knights consider Xander to be a boon as he has helped make them more popular and relevant to modern Shalians, after they had been slowly slipping back into obscurity again after the Betrayer Wars. Marcia Race: Shalian. Sex: Female. Age: 29. Class: Monk/Cleric/Sacred Fist. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Fisali. Personality: Marcia is an extremely dedicated individual with deeply ingrained opinions and beliefs, particularily when it comes to the nature of humanity and morality. In particular she believes strongly on the capability of Humans to solve their own problems and believes that Fisali's lack of interference in Aheka can only be a good thing as it allows them to grow stronger by themselves. She is also very much an enforcer and follower of the law, particularily when it comes to violent crimes, however this likely steps from the Eight Peaks Massacre (see background) and makes her very unsypathetic to criminals or anyone she sees as breaking the more important rules of polite society. Background: Marcia is the sole survivor of the Eight Peaks Massacre 14 years ago where Anan (see above), a Shalian Vampire, butchered the Eight Peaks monestary dedicated to Fisali which was a valuable stopping point those on a pilgramage through Eight Peaks. It was mostly made up of Monks who were training and meditating away from the rest of civilisation, and occasionally honing their skills against the foul creatures roaming Eight Peaks itself. Being only 15 at the time, and still only at the beginning of her training, Marcia was quickly disabled by Anan who then went on to kill everyone else in the monestary before returning to her and giving her a message for Fisali's clergy as well as explaining why he left her alive. The message she was given was this: "I hope my mother is proud", while he said he spared her (rather than simply a random person) because he too was a Nameless raised by the strict Monks at the monestary, and therefore pitied her enough to choose to spare her in particular. If the massacre was not bad enough, Marcia had to wait several weeks before anyone came to visit, as she knew travelling through Eight Peaks by herself would be suicide, especially in her emotional and physical state. As soon as she was discovered however word was sent to the capital and to the Eighth Knights, who began trying to (unsuccessfully) hunt down Anan after bringing Marcia to one of their own headquarters. It was there that she was nursed back to health and helped to overcome her traumatic experiences as well as recieving some training from Eighth Knights while staying there. The Eight Peaks Massacre and Anan's brutal actions actually made Marcia more dedicated to her cause, leading to her becoming a Cleric and, later, Sacred Fist of Fisali, focussing on two of her more opposing philosophies: that of fate and freedom. During her time with the Eighth Knights she also befriended Prince Xander Alexein who was one of those who helped her, both emotionally and in training. Marcia is now a high-ranking member of the Shalian army, especially considering the fact she is a Nameless, who often works with Sir Kato Vice and Sir Jarl Gemini (see below), both of whom are also friends and associates of Prince Xander. Sir Kato Vice Race: Shalian Lakarn of Gluttony. Sex: Male. Age: 32. Class: Beguiler/Abjurer/Ultimate Magus. Alignment: Neutral Good. Deity: Tiaan. Description: . Personality: In his own (now [in]famous in Shali) words, Kato is "highly intelligent, incredibly stubborn and very impatient", though most would also add beligerent, sarcastic and neurotic to that list. Despite this he is also a very loyal, patriotic, altruistic and oddly charismatic individual. He is the sort of person most people will go to great lengths not to annoy or get on the bad side of due to his legendary stubborness and sense of humour (see below), but he is also the first call for those who believe that someone is doing something immoral or otherwise wrong within the Shalian nobility. The reason for this is that Kato's power (both magical and political, due to his knighthood) and close friendship with Prince Xander means that even seasoned politicians are loath to oppose him or try to directly act against him. It also means that he is not afraid to confront people, often scathingly or otherwise in a manner that few others could get away with. As a Lakarn of Gluttony, Kato has a highly addictive personality and has a great many deeply ingrained habits, from pacing, to drinking wine from the bottle (he actually can't drink from a glass, no matter how hard he has tried), and pinching his nose when angry, to having to count the amount of people in a room when he enters, organising them into groups in his head (though exactly what kinds of groups he has yet to say). Kato also has a somewhat warped sense of humour, having become known for sending magical traps to people in the form of notes or letters, ranging from the relatively harmless (if annoying) Sepia Snake Sigil to the (much more serious) Explosve Runes. He never does this with any real intent of permenant harm however, tending to only use the latter in particular when he knows someone is tough enough to take it. Kato is also particularily fond of the Enervation spell, often employing it as a disciplinary measure to teach someone a lesson or simply because someone really annoyed him. Oddly enough, both Kato and Prince Xander have a longstanding habit of referring to each other by their surnames (Vice and Alexein) rather than their forenames, which they claim stems from their days within the acadmey together, where they met and became fast and enduring friends. Background: Kato is from a minor Shalian noble family that, until recently, enjoyed very little noteriety, however that changed as soon as Kato was born, as he was quickly proclaimed to be a Lakarn which, in Shali, was generally see as bad as having a Tiefling (even though the origin of Lakarns is much more mysterous). Despite this, his parents kept him and raised him just as they would have anyway, and even sending him to a prestigious academy when he was old enough as he had shown as talent for magic. It was at this acadmey that he met a young Prince Xander who he bonded with and has been a close friend of ever since. But while Xander focussed on martial combat more than his magic, eventually joining the Eighth Knights, Kato had always been fascinated with magic and eventually followed in his own Deity's (Tiaan's) footsteps and became an Ultimate Magus. Combined with his natural Lakarn abilities this made him an excellent mage despite eschewing evocation spells, as he used less well known spellls and tactics to fight and control the battlefield. His exemplary service combined with his close relationship with Xander eventually led to him being Knighted and granted a little land of his own. Kato has since retired from the Shalian military early and become a Royal Mage and the personal tutor of Celes Alexein, Xander's half-sister and the King's illigitemate daughter (who Xander is surprisingly close to), however he still involves himself in Shalian politics, generally doing his best to "bring those xenophobic sychophants down a few pegs". Sir Jarl Gemini Race: Shalian Atralumi. Sex: Male. Age: 49. Class: Warblade/Kensai. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Ruaci. Description: . Personality: Jarl is a rather atypical Atralumi in his speech pattern, as he does not speak in riddles or a similar roundabout way, as is more typical of the "Sons of Fisali". Instead, he speaks using overly complicated and long sentances. For example, rather than saying "I am fine" he would say "One is of satisfactory mental and physical condition". He also has the curious habit of using "One" instead of I, me, or my, leading to Kato and Celes giving him the nickname "One". Fortunately, his hallucinations are minor and easily ignored. Jarl's most important defining feature is his loyalty and dedicated to Prince Xander (see background), a loyalty that is more important to the Atralumi than his own life, the life of almost anyone else, and even his loyalty to the Shalian throne, as he has sworn his Oath of Service to Xander and Xander alone. Although in practice he tends to serve the palace (usually as a Royal Guard) he has made it perfectly clear that he answers to the people there only because Xander wishes it. This attitude has made many people, especially Xander's brothers and their supporters, very weary of him, as Jarl would almost certainly kill any of them without hesitation should Xander order it (not that he would). Background: Jarl is a commoner who has attained great heights due to a combination of raw talent and having the fortune to have been hired as an apprentice to a blacksmith that Prince Xander frequently visited and bought items from (most of which was either to augment his own items, as gifts for others, or for his sister's training). Over a few years the young Prince noticed Jarl's untapped potential and offered to help him get into the military. Being from a poor family Jarl jumped at the opportunity to earn much more money so that he ever could being a blacksmith's apprentice, to keep his parents and siblings well looked after and subsequently threw himself into the training. Despite being older than most of the recruits at the time, while having less actual experience, he quickly rose in the ranks until the only thing stopping him from rising higher was his being a commoner. After saving Prince Xander's life when the two happened to be patrolling together, Xander used his influence within the military and the palace to get Jarl nominated for a Knighthood, eventually resulting in the commoner becoming a technical member of the Shalian noble class. Soon after Jarl was invited to join the Royal Guard and now spends most of his time working as one of Celes' bodyguards. Due to looking after the "Bastard Princess" Jarl knows Kato (see above) very well, and is also rumoured to be liked by the Shalian King himself, who often visits Celes. ~MTWC

Nobles of Halva*
* - Including members of Halvan Kinships (such as the Kigo and Vash). If someone is both a Noble and a member of the military, they can be found in the military post. Cajien Vash Race: Feytouched Halvan/Pharean [Ailen] Sex: Male Age: 28 Class: Bard/Sylvan Minstrel Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Alainn Description: Cajien is often mistaken for an Elf-touched, especially at a distance, from behind or when his Human ears are hidden by his hair, which is in no small part due to being the son of a Half-Fey Human Druid and a Human Ranger. He has unkempt light brown hair and unsusually vibrant and captivating green eyes, just two of the many charming atttributes that he inherited from his Nymph grand-mother and Half-Fey mother. He typically wears smart but practical clothing, spending a lot of his time travelling through both the forests and 'urban forests' as he likes to call them. Personality: Few who get to know him find it surprising when he reveals his Fey nature, as Cajien is capricious, chaotic, charming and a great lover of natural things (in particular natural beauty, meaning he hates it when women use cosmetics and the like). Despite this very Fey-like attitude, he is equally at home in urban environments as he is in forests, though his jaunts through forests are typically to search for his mother or some other Fey to spend some time with. Despite being a good natured and kind person for the most part, he can be quite selfish at times, most often by hurting people (women in particular) without meaning to or even noticing. He is also not adverse to using his natural magical abilities to 'persuade' others to his point of view, though the best way to get the (usually) far from violent young man to want to hurt you is to suggest he uses these same abilities to coerce women into bed. Even if said in jest such talk is likely going to stain whatever friendly feelings Cajien once had for them, and being on the bad side of someone highly proficient with enchantment spells is not to be advised. Cajien has a particular weakness for Elf-touched women as they resemble Fey more than any other humanoid race and are typically quite close to nature as well. He has a particular liking for rain, often just standing there and looking up at the clouds with a serene smile on his face as the water splashes across his face. Background: Cajien is the son of a Halvan and the Half-Fey Pharéan his father fell in love with, his father being a member of the Vash Kinship. Despite his afilliations with the Vash, Cajien is not very active as a mercenary and is generally considered a Vash in name only, as he prefers to 'make love, not war' in his words. He is remarkably well-known throughout Aheka, partially because he was a friend of both Sei'Lenaar Kigo (see below) and Jin Iresoka, who was then Jin Serokai, (again, see below) since before the war five years ago when Jin was driven mad and turned into the chaotic mercenary he is today. Due to his promiscious ways, Cajien is a very controvertial figure, and indeed has been barred from many towns, cities and other places, even including the country of Nihl, due to his habits. In the latter's case, he narrowly escaped execution for 'defiling the Nihlian Princess' (i.e., sleeping with her), though how exactly is unknown, as the Nihlians are not known for changing their mind so quickly. Cajien himself does not even know why they changed their minds, though you will not find him complaining. Sei'Lenaar Kigo Race: Halvan [Kigo] Sex: Male Age: 27 Class: Ninja Alignment: Lawful Good Deity: Kirin Personality: . Background: . Keiji Kigo Race: Halvan [Kigo] Sex: Male Age: 30 Class: Swordsage/Shadowsun Ninja Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Fenrir Personality: Keiji is a quiet, serious and kind person. As a Shadowsun Ninja he tends to be a bit of a loner, mostly because he is all too aware of the dark temptations all face, especially him, and of the potential danger he poses to those around him because of how closely he walks the line between good and evil. As a follower of Fenrir and believer of both his and Jester's principals, Keiji is not afraid of doing an evil act so long as there is some good reason for it, though he is not as willing as Jester is to perform such acts. Background: Keiji has been exiled from the Kigo Kinship in all but name, his actions, opinions and friends (most notably Su'rion) having estranged him from his father (the current head of the Kigo) and his kin. Specifically, it was his penchance for not following orders that cause this, as Keiji has never been a subscriber to rigid organisation as his father or the Kigo as a whole, and often rebelled against this. Currently, he works as a mercenary, often being employed along with Su'rion (see People of the Northern Continent above), though he is far more picky about the work he accepts. Aiden Dragonblaze Race: Ruby-touched Halvan Sex: Male Age: 36 (appears to still be in his mid-late twenties, see Description) Class: Sorcerer/Dragonheart Shaper/Dragonheart Mage/Spellweaver Alignment: True Neutral Deity: Tiaan Description: If there is one word that can sum up Aiden's appearance then it is controlled. His features are a stoic mask, his ruby-red, draconic eyes belaying nothing of his intentions and/or motives. As a Dragonblaze, he wears fine clothing, though he rarely wears anything impractical, a throwback to when he travelled (see background). The oddest thing of all in Aiden's appearance is that, despite being the second oldest boy in the head branch of the Dragonblaze family (and acting head, with his older brother's illness) he actually appears to be the same age and sometimes even younger than his two other brothers (see below). This is because he is a master Dragonheart Shaper, and has taped into the lifeblood of dragons, at least doubling his life expectancy as well as his aging. Personality: Aiden's personality is much like his appearance: controlled. First and foremost he is an incredibly savvy politician, and knows better than any of his siblings and ins and outs, do's and do not's of Halvan politics, making him a natural and favoured diplomat. These skills have often created an enminity between Aiden and his older brother, Edan, who, by being the first-born son, was always the one destined to be the head of the family. Edan, however, was never able to get to grips with the intricasies of politics and, much to his displeasure, relied greatly on his younger brother for advice. Background: Aiden is the second-born son and third-born child of the Dragonblaze kin's head family. He is the son of Atish and Aideen Dragonblaze, his father, Atish, having died a little over 7 years ago from old age, though his mother, Aideen, still remains and teaches within the most prestigious mage academy in Halva. When he was younger Aiden was often left to care for his youngest sibling and second sister (his other sister, Ildri Avalon, being a year older than him) and the two are very close as a result of this. He also travelled a lot in his youth, and has visited every continent and almost all of Aheka's countries working as a mage-hunter as he and his family did not want anyone staining the reputation of 'good, honourable mages' such as themselves. After a little under a decade of this, Aiden returned to a steady life in Halva, using the skills and knowledge he learnt to his advantage in politics and gaining great fame within Halva, as well as many other countries for his silver tongue and good negotionating skills. First and foremost though he is currently a businessman, acting as the family head due to his brother's, most likely terminal, illness and is using all of the Dragonblaze family's considerable resources to try and find a cure for his older brother. Tyson Dragonblaze Race: Ruby-touched Halvan Sex: Male Age: 25 Class: Rogue/Sorcerer/Spellwarp Sniper Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: Tiaan Personality: The most immature of the Dragonblazes and, ironically, the one who most acts like a Ruby Dragon. Like his Ruby Dragon ancesters, Tyson is very free spirited and considered a bit of a black sheep by the rest of his siblings, though that is not to say he is a weak or stupid individual. Background: Tyson spent much of his youth learning skills unrelated to magic, a fact that infuriated his father and resulted in him eventually sitting down to learn the art of sorcery, however he later used what he had learn earlier on and started to combine it with his magic, finding a niche not often fulfilled within the Dragonblaze family as a skillful caster though he often uses his magic far too frivolously than his other siblings would like him to. Phyre Dragonblaze Race: Ruby-touched Halvan Age: 22 Class: Dragonfire Adept Alignment: True Neutral Deity: Tiaan Description: Phyre has the signature bright red eyes, inhereted from her Ruby Dragon ancester, and the long brown hair typical of her family. She is of slightly above average height for a woman, and her sleight frame leads one to falsely believe she is frail. Phyre is also considered attractive by most, despite the odd few red scales that she has and, being the result of generations of, for lack of a better term, selective breeding, has rather porcelin features. As a Dragonblaze, she always holds her head high and dresses in equisite clothing, though is equally not stupid and will dress as appropriate for travelling if need be, though even then it will be of the best quality and most often magical as well. Personality: Phyre is a Dragonblaze, therefore she knows she is superior to others, especially Wizards. She is incredibly prideful (easily bordering arrogant) and controlled, having been 'reared' by her father and mother to always keep people guessing as to her intentions. She is also incredibly charismatic and possess a thirst for knowledge of all sorts giving her the ability to rival even a Bard for picking up odd facts here and there. Phyre's intelligence and natural charisma lends her well to diplomacy, but she is also very capable of handing out a lot of arcane might when needed to, favouring her fire breathing ability. She is dedicated to her family, and constantly thinks of how what she does would impact their reputation etc. as well as often repeating idioms and advice she was raised to believe. The surest way to earn her displeasure is to insult her family, and if one does so, running would be a good idea, as she is a very stubborn young woman. Background: Phyre is the youngest of six children from the Noble Dragonblaze family, who can (and make a point of) tracing their ancestry back to a powerful Ruby Dragon. They have kept their blood strong by being very particular about who they marry, and typically have large familes. The Dragonblaze family are also noted to include and powerful Sorcerors and the occasional Dragonfire Adept, possessing incredibly strong views on how magic should be practised (naturally, rather than from musty books such as what Wizards do) and have littler respect for most other users of The Art unless they are similar in some respect (such as Warlocks, Bards and other spontaneus arcane casters), but even then they are typically treated as second-rate Sorcerors. Phyre is also one of only two daughters, and narrowly escaped the same fate of her older sister (being married off) due to her incredible talent and being the only female Dragonfire Adept in the history of the family (as well as the first Dragonfire Adept in a little over three generations). Unlike every other one of her siblings (and other family members) Phyre showed a far closer bond to her Draconic Heritage, seemingly possessing a near unlimited pool of her own natural magic, which has simply become stronger and stronger. Though she can not call upon the same variety of spells (or even spells technically) as the rest of the family, they can not come close to matching her endurance, both physical and arcane. This has created a rather strange contradiction amongst her close kin in particular. While she is not a Sorceror, they can not deny her abilities are perhaps even closer to her heritage than their own, which creates grudging respect, but also bad blood. As a result, she has a poor relationship with her family for the most part, with only her second eldest brother, Aiden, being at all close to her. Despite this, she still does as she was indoctrinated to do: further the Dragonblaze name. She therefore does as all her family do, and furthers the influence of the Dragonblaze family, whether through diplomatic means, aquiring artifacts or forging alliances. Currently, she is attempting to further the influence of the Dragonblaze family be gaining more and more allies, which is as a direct result to the current head of the family (her eldest brother, Edan, who recently took over after their father died of old age) having contracted a terminal illness. All of their considerable power and influence is therefore directed towards finding a cure for Edan at the moment, who is married but has no children. Phyre is currently investigating the events 5 years ago when the Fiends and Deities came to Aheka despite Fisali's Caveat. Sei'Tsa[tal] Faeresril Race: Drow-touched Halvan Sex: Male Age: 27 Class: Spell Sense Fighter Rogue/Invisible Blade/Theif Acrobat Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Ruaci Description: Tsatal looks far more like a Drow than a Human, being rather dimunitive in size, lithe in build and possessing an acute sensitivity to light (due to a much more Drow-like form of infrared vision). Because of the latter, he constantly wears special goggles designed to lessen intense light sources. The same goggles also have the (to him) desirable effect of making him harder to read, as his eyes are almost always hidden behind the dark lenses. Due to his habit of wearing these goggles, most do not know that his eye colour is actually green, rather than the typical red, and one of the few physical traits he inherited from his human heritage. Tsatal stands at around 5'3" and prefers to cut his hair short, though it still reaches far enough down to reach his mouth. He never wears armour as he relies on his cunning, speed and agility to both attack and defend, making armour far too cumbersome for him. He favours dark clothing, not because he is a Drow-touched, but because it makes him harder to spot at night (when he prefers to be active). Personality: Tsatal is very prideful and confident (quite easily approaching arrogance) in everything he does, and loathes to admit or show any form of weakness. Above all, he is proud and confident in his fighting ability, especially against the stereotypical tavern brawlers who, upon seeing the unarmoured and seemingly unarmed young Drow-touched, often believe they have found easy prey. Despite his arrogance, and contrary to the assumptions of most people due to his unusually close resemblence to the Drow, Phaerin has a rather strict (though unorthodox) moral code, which he calls his own code of honour. Amongst the 'tenants' of his own code of conduct are not attacking anyone who is defencless and not hitting women unless they hit him first (which is another of his personality traits that are very un-Drow-like). Tsatal learnt quickly, especially during his time amongst Nobles when growing up, that lies, half-truths and deception could keep you alive and out of trouble. For this reason, he prides himself, not only his ability to read other people, but also in his ability to avoid people reading him. For this reason, even those who know him tend to take most of what he says with a pinch of salt. Tsatal also delights in imparting his own 'pearls of wisdom' to others, mostly in the form of aphorisms such as "the bigger their sword is, the smaller their skill" (though he also has a much more insulting version of this revolving around a part of the male anatomy), and "the most insulting thing you can do to a warrior is refuse to fight them" (which he often does himself, not believing in fighting for the sake of fighting). Tsatal point-blank refuses to disguise himself or otherwise hide his Drow-heritage, though this is (unlike most believe) not out of any sort of pride of his heritage, but out of pride for himself as a individual, and he takes it as a great insult to be asked (or even suggested) that he disguise himself. This is also an example of his rather bizzare code of conduct, as he has no problem with deception for the most part, but vehmently opposes disguises and the like, believing that those who resort to them cowards. Background: Tsatal is one of the two last (known) living descendants of Ruaci, the other being his twin sister Hael'lin Faeresril (see below). He is also a noble (though rarely attends noble events), a Sei, a very close friend of the Halvan king (as they grew up together) and widely considered one of the Sei's most skilled fighters. Hael'lin Faeresril Race: Drow-touched Halvan Sex: Female Age: 27 Class: Warmage/Transmuter [Wizard]/Ultimate Magus Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: ? Personality: . Background: . King Vulcar II [A.K.A. "The Young King"] Race: Halvan Sex: Male Age: 20 Class: Monk/Bladeweaver Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Ruaci Description: . Personality: Vulcar is a rather private King so very little is known about how he acts, except that he is deeply concerned with the welfare and prosperity of his country and people. He is also known to be remarkably stoic and disciplined for someone of his age, most likely because he is a symbo of Halva's hope for a better future, after the assassination of all the males in the Halvan royal family be Hadet over fifty years ago, which lead to the collapse of the Halvan Empire. Background: Vulcar is the youngest of Queen Mother Kalari's two children, having been born a little under eight years after his sister, General Zephyra (see above). Being a member of the Halvan royal family he is also a descendant of the Seven Saviour Fislasyth. Both Zephyra and Vulcar were lucky to have been born, as their mother Kalari found it incredible difficult to carry a child to term, to the extent where it took her most of her life to have the son she and her country so desperately wanted, with a little under eight years seperating her only two children to have survived. In part because of his private reputation, but mostly because of his age, Vulcar is considered by a great many to be nothing more than a puppet king (intentionally or not). What is often disputed and debated is who the 'pupeteer' might be, ranging from the far more likely Dragonblaze family, his sister or members of the senate, to rumours of Fiendish or Fey influence. Nevina Vash Race: Pharéan Half-Nymph Sex: Female Age: 56 (appears to still be in her 20's) Class: Druid/Warden of Alainn Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Alainn Description: Nevina is breathtakingly beautiful, in the way that only the daughter of a Nymph can be. She rarely dresses in multiple layers (even in cold weather) or complex clothing, preferring simple clothing, and has the odd habit of not wearing shoes, even when she is dragged to one of the noble events by her husband or son. Nevina's animal companion, Ardal, is a bear of immense size, larger even than most other dire bears and far stronger and quicker than them as well as being in possession of an intellect above the average Human's, let alone bear's. Personality: Nevina is a kind-hearted, playful and generous person who holds nature in very high regard, but does not look down her nose at cities and those who live there, unlike many druids. She is also non-violent and in the rare situation where she must fight to protect herself or others, she rarely causes harm, preferring to ensnare, transform or otherwise harmlessly stop her enemy. It is only if this is impossible that she will resort to lethal spells. Despite her whole-hearted love for her husband, Dyran Vash, Nevina has been known to flirt with people quite often, even in her husband's presence. This has led to the more conservative members of Halvan society branding her as a whore although no one has ever proved the rumours that she is unfaithful to her husband true (many, her husband and son included, actually believe them to have been started by those same conservatives). Dyran, if present, usually ignores her flirting or makes some kind of sarcastic comment about it, in either case seeming unbothered, or at least unthreatened by his wife's actions. Ardal is rarely seen by people, as he is too large and too intimidating for city life for the most part. However those who have met him say he is gruff, though polite, and with very little patience for dancing about the matter at hand. He is also supposed to have a great disdain for small talk, seeing it as a waste of time. Despite his immense size and generally intimidating appearance he has never been known to attack people unprovoked, and has even been known to rescue people from bandits if he happens to be around. Background: Nevina is a Lady of Halva, having gained her title (and surname) from marrying Dyran Vash, a prominent member of the Halvan military (being the right hand man of Captain Phinn Seint-Kigo) and well-known (and liked) member of the Vash Kinship. Due to being Pharéan, Nevina has suffered from Halva's racial prejudice against her people ever since leaving her homeland to marry the man she loved, although she rarely acknowledges or mentions these troubles. Very little is known about Nevina's past in Pharé (partially because most Halvans only care that she's a Pharéan, where she is from exactly can not make it worse), except that she was from a particularly well-off noble family of Pharé, which has since disowned her for marrying a Halva, and that she is a daughter of Alainn. Nevina and Dyran have recently gained more notoriety and fame due to the recent creation and production of a play based on them, although they have taken a fair amount of creative liscence in the story of course. Dyran is well known to have hated the play (mostly because of the 'lies' as he calls them), while Nevina consistently thinks that it is sweet and even helped the playwright fund it when she heard about it. Kyrie Kigo Race: Half-Arcadian Avenger [Celestial] Kigo Sex: Female Age: 28 Class: Rogue/Slayer of Ruaci [Domiel] Alignment: Lawful Good Deity: Ruaci Description: Kyrie is rather small and sleight of frame, one might even be tempted to say delicate looking, however that small frame is stronger than most grown men, and quicker too. Being Half-Arcadian Avenger, Kyrie possesses wings, which span to a litle over 11ft, which is slightly less than twice her height. Unlike her older half-brother, Keiji (see above), Kyrie resembles her Nihleese ancestors more than her recent Halavan ancestors, making her appear more Nihleese than a typical Kigo, which is only accenuated by her Celestial nature. Personality: Kyrie is every bit as harsh and unforgiving as her Goddess, seeking to bring swift justice against evil creatures, particularly those that scorn or consider themselves above the rules of civilised society. Despite her harsh ways, Kyrie cares deeply for others, although she is notoriously dismissive of impulsive or reckless people (particularly her brother and Su'rion [see People of the Southern Continent]), as well as arrogant people (again, particularly Su'rion). Background: Kyrie is the favoured child of the head of the Kigo, Denji Kigo, her older brother having been viewed as a rebellious and troublesome child by his father as a teenager. She is also suspected to be named as Denji's heir within the next few years, although Denji himself has been quiet as to his plans for his Celestial daughter. As one of the few publically known 'assassins', Kyrie is a rather intimidating person to be around, particularly when she wishes to be, and has been attacked by numerous members of Halva's underground (as well as people they hire), once even during a noble event. For this reason many (partcicularly members of Halva's nobility) find it disconcerting to be around her for long, for fear they may get caught up in Kyrie's latest strike against Halva's underground forces. Kyrie hates Su'rion with a passion usually reserved for Demons, as she blames the Lakarn for her brother's "fall into barbarism and treachery" and is openly mocking and rude to the Drow-touched (something she is not to any of the others she dislikes, believing it more prudent to simply tolerate them when neccessary), even when she is present, which has led to many heated arguments between the two women. These arguments usually have to be forcibly broken up as both of them refuse to back down, Kyrie because of her conviction and Su'rion because she is a Lakarn of Pride. Lord Anhil Sol Race: Halvan Sex: Male Age: 21 Class: Sorcerer Alignment: True Neutral Deity: None Description: Anhil Sol has the dark brown hair and blue eyes that all but a few Sol's have had. In fact he, like most of his kin, past and present, look so much alike that most suspect they use magic to maintain and pass on their appearance to the next generation. A few others are of the belief that they have some sort of 'breeding plan' that they use to maintain their looks, which would explain why they have always been very picky about who marries into their family. Anhil stands a little under the 6ft mark that most Sol men hover around and, as befitting a Lord and head of such a prestigious family, he is always wearing expensive and well made clothing when he chooses to leave his family estate, something he has done more in the last three years since taking over after his father's death than he had the 18 years previous. Personality: Anhil is a quiet and reserved person, seemingly content to listen rather than talk, and he always thinks carefully before answering even the most most casual of questions. Despite this, he is a remarkably skilled orater and when he deigns to speak few can resist listening to him. Background: Anhil's father, Harren Sol, was a close friend of Queen Elish but, like most Sol's, he was somewhat of a hermit, rarely attending noble events (even the Winter Gala) with one of the few exceptions being the Gala 21 years ago when he both announced the birth of his first son and second child, Anhil, and congratulated the Queen when she announced she was pregnant with the next king of Halva. Few believe he was not aware of the latter fact though, due to his closeness to the Queen. Though the Sol family maintain a good relationship with the Halvan Royal family, Anhil is not nearly as close to them as his father was, though he gets along with them well when he meets them. It has recently become known that part of the reason Anhil has become more active is because he is looking for a wife so he can ensure the continued survival of the Sol name. As a result many Noble families, of all kinds of standings, have begun to try and tempt the young but powerful lord with their daughters, and no doubt other insentives as well, however Anhil is proving to be just as selective as his ancestors. Helena Sol Race: Halvan Sex: Female Age: 22 Class: Warlock Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Deity: None Description: Helena also has the dark brown hair and blue eyes of the Sol family, however her skin is much paler than her (marginally) younger brother's. Before Anhil became the head of the Sol family it was often joked that he and Helena were difficult to tell aprt, due to Helena's tomboy-ish personality and choice in clothing. Despite dressing in men's clothing (or clothing associated with men more than women) Helena does not hide her beautiful figure, no doubt the result of the Sol family's 'good breeding', even among the other eldest Noble families (such as the Dragonblaze Kin) and she can sometimes be found wearing more traditional female garb, particularly at important events. Personality: Despite her tomboy-ish behaviour and sense of style Helena is a notorious flirt (and rumoured more, though not within Anhil's earshot) and prankster who delights in making others uncomfortable, particularily by using her rather dark sense of humour (see background). Surprisingly, she defers to her younger brother most of the time, and his presence generally puts his free-spirited sister on her best behaviour. Background: Helena is Anhil's older sister, though only by a little under a year, and unlike many women born into nobility she enjoyed the fact that she was not expected to manage the family after her father died, considering the work he did boring. She does, however, dread the time when her brother (now the head of the family) may demand she marry, and perhaps even arrange one for her himself. Although he has made no moves to do this yet many assume he will soon, as she is already years older than most unmarried noble women. As befits her troublemaking nature, she is friends with Tyson Dragonblaze, the troublemaker and prankster of the Dragonblaze Kin. Despite the two acting more like kid brothers many suspect they have a more intimate relationship, though few would dare suggest as such in front of Anhil, let alone Aiden (see above). The main difference between Tyson and Helena, is that Helena tends towards firghtening people or otherwise making them uncomfortable. For example, during her time at the Dragonblaze academy she had a habit of animating dead rodents and other little animals (as both zombies and skeletons) and sending them to annoy people (sometimes even her professors). Fortunately, she has only ever been playful in this regard, never having taken an interest in the more sinister side of Necromancy. ~MTWC

Soldiers of Halva*
* - Nobles who are also a member of the Halvan military can be found here. Nuri Dragonblaze Race: Ruby-touched Halvan Sex: Male Age: 29 Class: Warmage/Elemental Savant Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Tiaan Personality: Nuri is controlled, just like most of the Dragonblaze family, however he is also the most lawfully inclined, as shown by his joining the Halvan military's elite mage regiments and rising within their ranks very quickly. Background: Nuri is a slight oddity amongst his siblings, as he chose to focus upon offensive spellcasting rather than all around spellcasting and also chose to dedicate himself to the elemental aspect of his heritage rather than the draconic. That said, he still venerates his draconic blood and heritage. Nuri, like Edan but unlike Aiden and Tyson, has a wife, and unlike even Edan he also has children, which means he is not often seen by his other siblings as he is too busy with his duties and his own family in a similar vein to his older sister Ildri Avalon who married into one of the other Halvan noble families. Princess [/General] Zephyra Halva Race: Halvan Sex: Female Age: 28 Class: Monk/Bladeweaver/Tempest Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Ruaci Description: . Personality: Zephyra is an odd mixture of intense frustration, anger and self-control. She struggles to maintain order within and without herself, making her appear harsh, unrelenting and very strict to others, however she is also known to have a furious temper. Despite this, she is a remarkably intelligent woman, mostly due to the fact that she was originally trained to be Queen, and ergo the ruler of Halva. Like her patron deity, Ruaci, Zephyra is a fierce and merciless warrior, having been trained in the arts of Bladeweaver from a very young age. She is also a specialist at fighting with two weapons, though refuses to use any manufactured weapons at all (in cases where she can not Bladeweave she uses her Monk training to fight), and typically fights with six Swords of the Saviours (a special sword that all Halvan royalty are taught how to create through Bladeweaving), two in hand and four levitating around her ready to be launched at enemies or used to deflect attacks. Background: Zephyra is the eldest of Queen Mother Kalari's two children, having been born a little under eight years before her brother, and the current King of Halva, Vulcar II (see below). Being a member of the Halvan royal family she is also a descendant of the Seven Saviour Fislasyth. Both Zephyra and Vulcar were lucky to have been born, as their mother Kalari found it incredible difficult to carry a child to term, to the extent where it took her most of her life to have the son she and her country so desperately wanted, with a little under eight years seperating her only two children to have survived. Ironically, it was this very birth that made Zephyra the angry person she is today, as she has always resented her brother to some extent, having been raised for eight years to rule only to have it taken away and given to a baby. Were it not for the training she had already received Zephyra would have likely led a life within the court, like most Princesses (and Halvan Nobles in general), however she had already shown vast potential in training so the decision was made to continue. She has steadily worked her way up within Halva's military through a mixture of skill, talent, determination and (though she is loathe to admit it) being a Princess, to the rank of General and is in fact the youngest General in the country's history. Increasingly, she has tried to seperate herself from her royal ties, spending most of her time within her own home, outside of the royal palace, or busy elsewhere in Halva. She also insists on being referred to as General Zephyra (or General Halva, whichever naming convention is required) rather than Princess. It is widely believed she does this because her rank is something she has, for the most part, earnt, and because of the resent she still holds over having her status of immediate heir removed. Though she is first in line to the Halvan throne (in the case of her brother's death), this is only because he does not have children and is not married. Captain Leal Venturo Race: Halvan Sex: Male Age: 31 Class: Battlemage Alignment: True Neutral Deity: None (though he often claims to worship "Yippy, the back-flipping dog of guffawing") Description: Leal has long-ish length blond hair, green eyes and most often wears a civillian overcoat on top of his Halvan military uniform (even when on duty). His most priminent feature, however, is the tattoo across his face, which is a simple line from just below his ear, across the bridge of his nose, and then to just below his other ear. He picked up this tattoo during his long stay in Tyyryk, where he worked as a Guard for the Halvan ambassador there. Whenever asked what it means he usually weaves some elaborate story of how deep its meaning is, although given his father playful personality and general demeaner most do not take this seriously. Personality: Leal is a surprisingly playful person considering his status and prestige within the Halvan military and is considered one of the most well-liked people in Halva's military due to his relaxed (though from from orderless) methods. Despite his laid back demeaner, he is widely considered a prodigy on par with General Zephyra (see above), although he is a very humble person are rarely prone to arrogance or egotistical remarks (unless they are made to humorous effect). Even though Leal is much more relaxed than most of the Captains in the Halvan military he is far from lazy and, if anything, drives those who serve under him even harder than everyone else, altough this could partially be because his assigned area covers many of the important noble families' estates, including the Dragonblaze kin's. Background: Oddly enough, very little is known of Leal from before he was stationed in Tyyryk as part of the Halvan Ambassador's escorts at the young age of 15, and it was not until a little over 7 years later, at the age of 23 that he became widely known as he managed to almost single-handedly defend the Ambassador from a group of fiends that had ambushed them, killing most of his fellow guards as well as several civillians caught in the middle of the fight. His actions that day drew great attention to him and it emerged that his Captain had been deliberately preventing word of his natural abilities and actions from making it back to Halvanna because he did not like his care-free attitude and did not want to see him rewarded despite it. There was no way he could hide Leal having saved the Ambassador's life though, as the Ambassador personally sent word to Halvanna of the event and that was when it was found the Captain had been with-holding information to prevent Leal's promotion. He was immediately demoted and sent to work as a mere guard in the Kairan Embassy while Leal was welcomed back as a genius and hero by much of the Halvan military (the general population were not as aware of this though). After only two more years Leal quickly shot up in the ranks, as he should have been doing before, and eventually became the Captain of "The Gold Ring", which is the popular name for the central part of Halvanna, where most of the important families live surrounding the King's palace (which is considered its own area and under a different Captain's jurisdiction). Currently, Leal is most well known for his close relationship with General Zephyra, as the two spend a large amount of their time together leading many to believe they have a more intimate relationship, though few would dare speak of it in front of Zephyra, who has taken to severely punish people for "spreading rumours". Captain Duaer "The Crescent" Vheinus Race: Wood Elf-touched Halvan Sex: Male Age: 53 (he appears to be in his late 20's/early 30's though, due to his Elven blood. Class: Battlemage/Bladesinger Alignment: Lawful Good Deity: Koehluth Description: Duaer has very short brown hair, green eyes and stands surprisingly tall for an Elf-touched at an inch or so over 6ft. He is rarely seen out of uniform, even in informal situations he will wear his full military uniform whenever possible, and when it is not he wears as much as ettiqutte permits. He also takes great pride in his appearance, which stems from his upbrining in the Gold Ring (the area of Halva where the most important/richest Nobles live), and is rarely, if ever, seen dishevled or scruffy. Personality: Unlike his fellow captain and rival, Leal, Duaer is a tactern and serious individual dedicated to ensuring order and proper ettiquette, having come from one the Vheinus family, who have had a seat at the Halvan council for over two centuries. Despite his noble upbringing Duaer does not look down on commoners and, in fact, respects them a great deal, especially those who, despite their misfortune, manage to make something of themselves through hard work. What he does not like, however, is those who appear to gain prestige through mere fame, association or in some other form that does not take time and effort. This is why he an Leal have developed a rivalry (although Duaer is the only real active participant, as his counterpart is rarely interested), as he believes his fellow captain to have risen ranks too quickly, even if he is a talented warrior. The one odd thing about Duaer that appears to be at odds with his general personality is the obvious affection he has for his feline familiar, Murr, who is very rarely seen far away from his master. He is very protective of Murr and the first thing anyone who works with him for the first time is told is usually something like: "Whatever you do, don't touch the cat...". Background: Coming Soon to a Computer Screen Near You. Captain Alta "The Perregrine" Race: Half-Halvan, Half-Arcadian Avenger [/Half-Cesltial] Sex: Female Age: 92 (appears to be in her mid 30's) Class: Crusader Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Ruaci Description: Alta is several inches over 6ft, towering over quite a few men, let alone most women, while her wings measure a little under 15ft when fully spread, further adding to the weight of her appearance. She has light brown hair and icy blue eyes and, like Duaer, is rarely seen out of her uniform. Alta carries herself with the utmost confidence (some would say arrogance) and control, never slouching or otherwise slacking in her appearance as a protecter and representative of both the King and Halva in general. Personality: While Duaer preaches order, Alta lives and breaths it and all of those who work under her learn quickly that everything must be working in perfect order under her command. Background: Alta was born and raised a Nameless within Halva, however she is one of the few Nameless to have 'earned' an official name, along with her technical status as a Lady of Halva (though few would dare address her as such). Due to her unflinching and dedicated service to Halva she was given the surname Peregrine, from the nickname she had gained during her service, as well as all of the usual trappings that come with being a Lord or Lady of Halva (such as your own area of land within Halva, as well as a mansion within Halvanna, with Alta's being in the Golden Circle, very close to the King's Palace). Alta was a junior member of the royal guard and was even on duty the night that Hadet assassinated all the men in the Halvan Royal Family. Though there was nothing she could have done to prevent the assassinations at the time, the event scarred Alta enough, turning her from the worship of Fislasyth to Ruaci, who she felt was right when it came to dealing with evil, or those who wish to flaunt the rules of society which hold Humanity together and hold the Fiends at bay. Since that dark day Alta threw herself into her work and duty, excelling in her endeavers and career until the day, almost three decades ago, that she was chosen to be the new Captain for the Royal Palace. She has since repeatedly refused a promotion to a higher rank, insisting that there is no duty more important than hers. She is also well known for training first Princess Zephyra, and then King Vulcar, in the art of swordsmanship, with the fighting style of the former particularly reflective of Alta's own (although Zephyra's aggressive is far beyond Alta's own). Captain Tahl Serenus Race: Halvan Air Genaisi Sex: Female Age: 42 Class: Urban Ranger/Tempest/Thief-Acrobat Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Tahllys Description: Tahl, being an Air Genaisi, has white skin, white hair and blue eyes. Her clothing is likewise typically some shade of white, blue or some kind of similar pale colour. Like Lael, she appears far more relaxed than the other Captains and typically wears clothing designed for comfort or mobility than for appearance. Personality: Tahl is the least strict of the Captains, mostly because her assigned area is the Southern Distract of Halvanna, which, along with being the largest of the areas, is also mostly made of slums. Because of this, she is seen as the most approachable of the Captains as even Lael, likewise known to be rather laid back, evokes some sense of awe due to his reputation. Background: In effect, Tahl acts and thinks 'like the people', mostly because she knew what it was like to grow up in the southern distract, having been born and raised there by her parents before joining the guard at the young age of fifteen to get away from it all. After having quickly rose in ranks, using her steet-wise knowledge and uncanny knack of getting around the 'urban jungle' as she liked to call it, Tahl found herself back in the Southern District, although this time with the power to do some good. After Tahl was promoted to Captain of the Southern Distriact 5 years ago, following the death of the previous captain during the brief war with the Fiends and Deities then, she started to bring about many changes that made it a much safer place to be, although without stiffling those who lived there. Captain Phinn "One Eye" Seint-Kigo Race: Halvan [Kigo] Sex: Male Age: 37 Class: Ninja/Ranger/Storm Archer Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Fenrir Description: Phinn is a rather distinctive looking man, having a Kigo mother and Halvan father that gives him a unique mixture of Nihleese and Halvan features. Like most Nihleese, he has black hair, however he has brown eyes and is much taller than a typical Nihleese person at several inches over 6ft. As the Captain of Halva's wilds and out of reach places Phinn spends most of his time travelling and, as such, dresses very differently to most captains, favouring the king of clothing that someone who lives of the land would wear. Personality: Phinn is quite an arrogant man, namely because he is unique within the Halvan military for his knowledge of the vast stretches of land called Halva, but also because of his skill with a bow and arrow. He is the only Captain with a degree of autonomy from the Council or the King, which is neccessary because he can spend weeks away from Halvanna. As a result he has embraced feedom over constraint, though that is not to say he disobeys his orders, but he has been known to 'interpret' them wrongly, or otherwise get away with doing something he shouldn't do. Background: Phinn is the only son of the previous "Rogue Captain" (the common name for his current positon as the Captain of Halva's wilds), who he learnt most of his woodcraft and woodslore knowledge from as a child and young man, while his mother trained him in the stealthier aspects of life, something his father was never particularly good at. As a result, he is greatly feared by bandits and others who roam Halva's roads with ill intent, as he is capable of sniping with accuracy from a great distance while remaining unnoticied. Phinn has gained the nickname "One Eye" because he often wears an eye-path over one of his eyes (it varies which one), claiming that it is part of his own unique training to improve his archery. It is rumoured, however, that the eye-patch is actually magical, and that covering up one of his eyes with it gives him some form of telescopic vision, however how true this rumour is is unknown, as Phinn has neither confirmed nor denied it. Captain Blaze Jadewalker Race: Nihleese Warforged Sex: Male Personality Age: 33 Class: Battlemage/Warblade/Jade Phoenix Mage Alignment: Lawful Good Deity: Ruaci Description: Blaze does not appear to be as physically bulky/built as most Warforged, though he is several inches above 6ft and, despite his mithral-made body, he weighs far more than a Human of his size and build would. While on duty he wears the standard Halvan Captain's uniform, however when off-duty he tends to favour loose-fitting clothes in shades of green and white or black. Personality: Blaze, like most Waroforged, finds it difficult to interact with others, as both his voice and face are very limited in their ability to display emotion. Because of this, Blaze has become an incredibly frank and honest person. Whereas most would hint at their annoyance or happiness he makes his current emotional state known very clearly to those around him through his choice of words. Despite Blaze's harsh appearance he is known to be a rather skilled negotiater with a surprisingly silver tongue, making him good at mediating disputes, however he is equally well-known for his ability to scare away a whole host of people with a simple glare and threatening movement. Background: Blaze was one of the last Warforged that Nihl created before they and Pharé came to an agreement to stop making any more Warforged, which was also when Warforged were freed from their 'slavery' to the army. As a result, Blaze almost immediately left Nihl, eager to explore Aheka and travelled across the northern and southern continents for a little over a decade before deciding to stay in Halva. After originally working as a mercenery during his travels and when he first came to live in Halva Blaze decided to join the Guard in an attempt to hone his martial and arcane skills. He spent many years working his way up within the ranks, as well as developing a great fondness for Halva and its people, and was eventually promoted to Captain of the West District, more commonly known as the Mage District, where the various centres of academia are located and which is the smallest of the districts. Blaze is well-known by the Halvan populace, partially because he is so distinctive and recognisable (since Warforged are still rare outside of Nihl and Pharé) and partially because of several large brawls he has involved himself in (to break them up usually), in which he has flown on super-heated air, turned himself into a flaming ball of fire only to hurtle himself at a group of enemies and even blown himself up, only to reborn from the fire he created a few moments later. Because of this, he has many nicknames revolving around "Phoenix", though Jade Phoenix and Emerald Phoenix are the most common. 1st Lieutenant Dyran Vash Race: . Sex: . Age: . Class: . Alignment: . Deity: . [img][/img] Description: . Personality: . Background: . Major General (Retired) Esiard Emlyn, the Last Knight of Halva Race: Halvan. Sex: Male. Age: 89. Class: Ranger/Weapon Master. Alignment: Lawful Good. Deity: Airis. [img][/img] Description: Esiard is an old man, his hair having long since turned white, however looking at him you would be hard-pressed to guess his age, as he looks a good few decades younger than he actually is, something he attributes to having never gone a day without doing his drills and generally keeping fit and healthy. Despite his age he is also a great deal fitter than most people a quarter his age and though age as entropied his muscles as it does all, his prodigious strength during youth means that he can still hit with the better of them, if not still the best of them. He has light blue eyes and keeps his hair cropped short, even though he has long since left the army, and he always wears simple, if well made clothing, as well as some magical trinkets he has obtained during his life, most well known of which is the Tear of Airis hanging from his neck - a gem-like magical case within which supposedly resides an actual tear of Airis. Personality: Esiard is a dour, gruff and serious man to most, though that is not to say he is not caring nor warm. He holds particular affection for children and has a long-standing habit of protecting and helping them which has made him a popular visit for any Halvanna children in need of help. Background: Esiard is widely considered to be a Prodigy - the term used for the exceptionally talented - of combat and warfare, having broken almost every rank-based record during his time in the Halvan Army, however he retired early from the Halvan army after he returned from Elern in the wake of the assassination of all the males in the Halvan Royal Family and the Elernan revolution (see below), which means he has become more of a historical figure than a current one, despite still being alive and well. Esiard has been known by many titles during his life, most of them earned during his twenty years in the Halvan military - The Beast of Halva, Scourge of the Eastern Sea and Hound of the Rogue Legion, just to name a few - however it is the last one he was given that has stuck: The Last Knight of Halva. Esiard was 'given' this nickname by Netra Thane, the late King of Elern and father of Queen Satria Thane, its current ruler, who called him "The last honourable knight of Halva" because Esiard, who had been based in the former Elernan Capital during the last few years of the 'Elernan occupation' (as they call it), had gone to great lengths to curb the abuses commited by those under his command, punish those he caught, and had shown genuine attempts to try and help the downtrodden Elernan people while still remaining true to his own Country. It was this struggle to do the right thing while continuing to serve his country that led Netra to not only spare him and his most trusted soldiers at a time when all Halvan stragglers were executed or imprisoned, but to release them and send them back to Halva unharmed and with most of their possessions. This stuggle also lead to Esiard renouncing his oath to serve Halva, an action that for most anyone else would have likely meant prison, however in the wake of all that had happened as well as a result of Esiard popularity at the time he was instead given early retirement. It was not long after that that he turned to Airis and began to volunteer at the church, refusing all forms of compensation for his time and effort and donating most of the money he had and a good deal of his belongings too. He has survived by occasionally tutoring the sons of nobles, however he also makes a habit of teaching commoners, orphans and even whores how to fight, or at least defend themselves, and has been known to personally teach thugs "A well deserved lesson" in some cases, much to the general cheer of the locals. ~MTWC

People of the North-Western Continent
Niafem Race: Pharéan Sex: Female Age: ? Class: Wizard/Malconvoker/Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil Alignment: Lawful Neutral Deity: Ruaci Personality: Dark, sarcastic, intelligent and cunning are all words that describe Niafem, in all of her incarnations to a tee. Niafem is always one who believes in a 'the ends justify the means' mentality, partially due to the fact that she is always a Malconvoker or someone of a similar occupation. Though confident, Niafem lacks of arrogance of Hadet or Wra (see below) and is the member of the Quartet least likely to understimate any threat, preferring to use overwhelming strength to wipe out a foe as soon as is possible. Background: Niafem is one of the Quartet, a group of four assassins, generals, leaders and champions of Pharé who answer to the Queen and the Queen alone. They have been a constant within Pharé for many centuries in one shape or form though their true identities are always a secret that only the Queen knows, hidden behind powerful artifacts that alter their appearance to the extent where it is even beyond the sight of True Seeing. When they are discovered, grow too old, or die, the Queen selects a replacement, and so the Quartet continue to be considered possibly the greatest of Pharé's many weapons. Niafem is the member of the Quartet who specialises in the planes, conjuration spells and abjuration spells, working as both a defensie, counter-attacking and offensive spellcaster with a great amount of versatility. She is infamous amongst the Quen and other people within Tsuun for destroying a part of the Great Tsuun Forest while in pursuit of Tyryyk mercenaries that were reputed to have been moving against Pharé in one way or another. Hadet Race: Pharéan Sex: Male Age: ? Class: Rogue/Assassin/Shadowdancer Alignment: Lawful Evil Deity: None Personality: Hadet is a killing machine pure and simple. He occupies himself only with death, and goes about it in the most efficient way possible unless ordered otherwise by the Queen. He is by far the darkest of the Quartet, and also the one most closely watched should he decide to turn against Pharé. Background: Hadet is one of the Quartet (and the only male amongst them), a group of four assassins, generals, leaders and champions of Pharé who answer to the Queen and the Queen alone. Hadet is the assassin and war general of the Quartet and he is the one that most of Aheka fear the most due to his unparallelled (amongst mortals at least) stealth skills. His most infamous act (and almost certainly done by a 'different' Hadet to the current one) was the assassination of all the males within the Halvan royal family, which was one of, if not the greatest, contributing factors to the Halvan Empire's collapse. Fortunately for the Halvans, the widow of one of the princes had become pregnant shortly before the atrocity, though she bore a daughter rather than a son and it would not be until the generation after when the first Prince of Halva would be born, who is now king. Wra Race: Pharéan Sex: Female Age: ? Class: Beguiler/Mountebank Alignment: True Neutral Deity: Fisali Personality: Wra is the Quartet most are weary of, as she is incredibly adept at physical, verbal and magical misdirection alike. She is also very playful and is the member of the Quartet that most often functions as the Queen's personal bodguard due to her ability to create illusional Queens to confuse others, and because she is the only member of the Quartet who can typically speak with others in a 'normal' way. Background: Wra is one of the Quartet, a group of four assassins, generals, leaders and champions of Pharé who answer to the Queen and the Queen alone. Wra is the illusionist, spy and front to the Quartet, and as a result both the one most and least often seen, depending on which of her three occupations she is focusing on. Her most famous (rather than infamous, like all of the other Quartet) action was during the Betrayer Wars around fifty five years ago when she tricked an entire army of Zera into walking off of a cliff to the death, saving several nearby Halvan settlements of varying sizes in the proccess. Lespetinence Race: Pharéan Sex: Female Age: ? Class: ? Alignment: ? Deity: ? Description: . Personality: . Background: Lespetinence is one of the Quartet, a group of four assassins, generals, leaders and champions of Pharé who answer to the Queen and the Queen alone. Alnei Nelia Race: Pharéan [Ailen] Sex: Male Age: 103 Class: Fey Warlock/Effigy Master/Maester Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Alainn Description: Alnei typically wears robes rather than armour, which results in people often mistaking him for a Wizard (something he rarely bothers to correct anymore). Being a little over a century old, Alnei's hair has greyed, however he still has the sparking green eyes of his youth. Personality: Alnei is a creative and playful maverick at heart. Though once fiercely patriotic Alnei is now more likely to question Pharé's actions than support them. When it comes to his 'children', the Trueforged, Alnei is very suspicious and distrusting of others, always refusing to answer any questions on how he made them. Background: Alnei is one of the most famous men in all of Pharé, as he was the person who first dreamt up the idea of, and created, the Warforged as well as numerous other inventions such as the Pharéan Pistol (called Alnein Pistols in Pharé). He was one of the fortunate sons of an Ailen as, while he was not allowed to take the surname Ailen his mother did not give him away, choosing to raise him herself and naming him, twice, after the Kinship of his origin (with Alnei being an annogram of Ailen and Nelia simply being Ailen spelt backwards). Under the tutorledge of his mother, as well as a great many of the Ailen's finest minds, Alnei quickly excelled at the art of Fey magic although he soon realised his true calling as a crafter and inventer rather than a fighter. After creating the first true Warforged over 70 years ago he worked tirelessly to create more, as it was a slow and complex task, but after the Betrayer Wars, when he saw the first mass demonstration of what his children were used for Alnei grew steadily more depressed and reclusive. Though the great crafter never made another Warforged, nor released any new inventions, he had passed on his knowledge to enough students for the practice to continue until the creation of Warforged was halted by an agreement between Pharé and Nihl (the only two countries that knew how to make them) 33 years ago. For over three decades, starting about a decade before the agreement to stop making Warforged, Alnei tried to correct the 'imperfections' of the Warforged in secret, something he had always wanted to do but which had never generally been seen as useful. While generals and leaders saw the Warforged as living weapons, it was merely a corruption of Alnei's intention to bring new life into the world. Having long hated the name they wered assigned, Alnei called these these new 'perfect' Warforged the "Trueforged" as they were his original dream: an artificially made life that almost perfectly resembled a Human. In fact, the few Trueforged that do exist are so well-made that they fake breathing automatically, 'bleed' when cut and are almost completely indistinguishable from Humans except for not appearing to physically age (although they are still subject to wear and tear, it is just not apparent from looking at their 'outside'). All Trueforged were created by Alnei, originally by himself but then with the aid of his 'daughter', Nualae, and the first of her kind. Trueforged are thought to currently number only in the tens, at most 50 or so, although only Alnei knows for sure and he is notoriously secretive when it comes to anything to do with the Trueforged, not trusting anyone else (except the Trueforged themselves) with the secrets of how to make them. Despite the fact that he has not contributed to Pharé for almost 55 years (the Trueforged having been his own personal project) Alnei has remained a highly honoured name within its border to the extent that, when it was revealed 4 years ago that he was dieing there was a great outcry from Pharé's public to save him. Unfortunately, it was no disease or illness taking the Father of the Warforged, but old age, and so there was nothing anyone could do but celebrate his life, even if it is rumoured he no longer considers his inventions worth celebrating. He is currently serving as the Pharéan Ambassador to Halva, a position he has held for the last seven years, although there has been an increasingly large effort on Pharé's part to get him to return, especially given the fact he is dying. He has been increasingly relying on his 'daughter' Nualae (see below), to help him and (in extreme circumstances) perform his duties for him. Nualae Nelia Race: Pharéan Trueforged Sex: Female Age: 13 (she does not appear to physically age though, like all Trueforged) Class: Kineticist (Psion) Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Hiahel. Description: Surprisingly, Nualae's hair and eye colour (black and blue respectively) are uncommon in Pharé, though her general features and accent mark her as obviously Pharéan. She tends to wear rather simple clothes, usually in shades of blue or black and only has never worn a dress to a public event (in Pharé or Halva), considering them 'suffocating'. Personality: Nualae is a rather optimistic, caring and generous person at heart, like most of those who venerate Hiahel. Despite this, she has a fearsome temper which can result in nearby objects shattering or flying about as she attempts to quell her anger. She is also somewhat reserved, prefering to listen rather than talk although she is somewhat skilled at diplomacy, having helped her 'father' in his role as Ambassador to Halva for the last 7 years. The best way to draw Nualae's ire is to refer to her is an inanimate objects (such as a doll) and, though she has never reacted violently to such comments they have resulted in the abrupt end of any discussion with her or Alnei and have even resulted in her and her father leaving a public event on a few occasions. She occasionally indulges in playful banter or pranks mostly influenced by her father (who is rather fond of frivality). Background: Nualae is the first of the Trueforged (see Alnei's background, above) and considers herself Alnei's daughter (just as he considers her his daughter). As a result of being the only well-known Trueforged, she receives a lot of both positive and negative attention, such as people being impressed by Alnei's crafting abilities or those who dissaprove of it. For the last 4 years she has spent most of her time caring for and helping her father, who is dying of old age, and has even begun to act entirely in his stead for less important occasions or when he is in too bad a condition. As a result, she has become increasingly active within Halvanna where most tend to consider her as an affront to the Gods or a wonder of Human creativity. "Nomad" Race: Pharéan Sex: Female Age: Unknown, appears to be in late 20's. Class: ? Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: None Description: Nomad has long black hair and yellow eyes, most often thought to be some kind of latent Fiendish heritage (though she has denied this). She is remarkably tall for a Pharéan at several inches over 6ft and typically wears a magically chainshirt which can change its appearance at will. Personality: Nomad is a very reserved person, yet she also has a clear idea of right and wrong and will not hesitate to act against an injustice or immoral action should she feel it neccessary. Most who only meet her think of her as apathetic or emotionless, however those who have spent more time around her quickly realise she merely attempts to take every viewpoint and considering into account, making her highly empathic. Background: Nomad, as her moniker implies, is a consumate wanderer. She has travelled all over Aheka and to a great many of the planes in her relatively short life, including the Hells and Abyss. While she identifies herself as a Pharéan her exact past, and even her true name, remain a mystery that she has shown little interest in explaining. There are those who seek her out, as her travels have blessed her with an incredible breadth of knowledge which she appears to crave just as much, making trades with Clerics of Tiaan and Fislasyth rather common. Drake Spellcarved Race: Pharéan Warforged Sex: Male Personality Age: 61. Class: Duskblade/Spellcarved Soldier Alignment: True Neutral Deity: None Description: Drake has the same general uniform features of any Warforged, except that he is marginally taller (a little over six and a half feet tall) and constructed mostly out of adamantine. However, the key way to recognise this unique Warforged is his penchance for wearing robes over his rune-carved adamantine "shell". Because of this, Drake is a very imposing individual. Not only does he have the unfeeling face of any Warforged, and not only is he both larger and obviously made of stroner stuff than an "ordinary" Warforged, but his robes tend to be equally bulky, making him appear much larger than he is. As a result, there are few people that would pick a fight with him, even if they had not seen his wickedly sharp scimitar, and even if they were not aware of who he was exactly. Personality: Drake is a surprisingly laid-back and friendly Warforged, especially considering he was a part of the Pharéan military for almost three decades, although it takes most a long time to realise this as, like all Warforged, he has difficulty expressing emotions through expression or voice. This, combined with his generally intimidating appearance, makes most avoid what is actually a remarkable friendly and trusting person. That is not to say that Drake is a friend to all living things or even a gentle giant - he will be the first to point out to you that he is a War forged, his place is with battle, his only constant companion his weapon, but he is odd amongst Warforged for having taken a rather human attitude towards fighting. Namely, he simply considers it a job, and much prefers to spend time indulging in hobbies or talking with friends (or simply interesting people). As a result, he can most often be found in taverns when not working, or visiting any other place one could expect to find a lot of people, and routinely wiles away the dark hours in drinking establishments as they are the only ones that will generally be open late into the night which gives Drake (who does not require sleep) something to do. Background: Drake was amongst the first of the "Second Generation" Warforged, so-called because the "First Generation" had been deliberately made incapable of performing magic, just in case they proved to be unreliable. When this failed to happen Pharé decide to augment the initial Warforged numbers with a second generation that were not only capable of utilising magic, but that often specialised in magical forms of combat. Drake was one such Warforged and joined what would later become the world-reknown Spellcarved Regiment, a regiment of Warforged who had taken to utilising magical runes to augment their abilities. While they rarely saw true battle, the Spellcarved were amongst Pharé's most elite regiment and both they and Drake himself had an excellent record. With the dissolution of the Warforged regiments 33 years ago, when Pharé and Nihl agreed to stop making Warforged and Ahekan leaders as a whole gave them equal rights, Drake was amongst those who left the Pharéan military to explore the world. Like most of his comrades he took up mercenary work to take advantage of his training and lived the life of a travelling sell-sword for many decades before meeting up with who would become his closest friend: the Sharakan shapeshifter known simply as "Flux" (see People of the Southern Continent, Part Two). He and Flux worked together briefly and struck up an odd friendship that continued on and off for years, with the two of them often informing the other when they found work and needed a helping hand or another body, until they were invited to join Walking Dead by Jin Iresoka. For the last 4 years Drake and Flux have been working as a part of the loose-knit group of exiles, outcasts and vagabonds that make up the Walking Dead group of mercenaties. Crown Princess Mayve Ellish Race: Pharéan Sex: Female Age: 23 Class: Sorcerer Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Alainn Description: Mayve certainly lives up to her name (which means intoxicating) and her Nymph blood - being decribed even by Pharé's enemies as one of the most beautiful women in Aheka. Unlike her mother and grandmother, who possess the almost supernatural aura of beauty of the Nymphs Mayve's beauty is entirely mundane (though certainly still remarkable). She has long light brown hair, long enough to reach her waist, which is usually tied into braids, and bright green eyes. She typically wears light regal robes when on official duty, while her casual attire is generally unknown (although rumours aboand about it, with most assuming her to prefer little clothing). Personality: Mayve is a kind-hearted, nature-loving young woman who has gained the nickname "Pixie" due to her playfulness and tendancy to play pranks on people. Despite this, she knows when to be serious, and conducts herself impecably during her official duties. Despite rumours to the contrary, she is also not much of a flirt, although her friendliness can sometimes be misinterpeted as such. Background: Mayve spent most of her early years with her Fey grandmother, fostered with her to teach her the important both of her heritage and in the part nature plays to all life. It is only in the last few three years that she has remained within "civilised" society bar the occasional visit to Druidic circles and Fey enclaves. She has spent the last year or so travelling Aheka to learn more about the duties she is expected to do, although there is some suspicion that her mother is also sending her on these trips in the hopes of finding a suitable husband for her daughter. ~MTWC

Archgates of Aheka
Mirik Orn [Fislasyth] Race: Old Silver Dragon Sex: Male Age: 567 Class: Dragon/Bard/Seeker of the Song Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Fislasyth Personality: Mirik, who is often referred to as 'the Silver Bard' is a very playful and laid back person and, despite his incredible physical and magical strength, rarely involves himself in any sort of conflict. He does this because he, like Fislasyth, believes that people should learn to stand on their own two feet, so if he went and fought all their battles for him then he would only be hurting them in the long run. Background: Mirik has been a follower of Fislasyth for the vast majority of his life, however he has only been his Archgate for under a century. A consummate traveller, there is no country or region that he has not visited, though he goes to several places more than others, such as Halva, Caldawn, Tsuun, Aria and Ikra, and other places less, such as Pharé, Nihl, Sharak, Shali and Quall. He often serves as a neutral party and diplomat for international disputes, as well as interal disputes and performs for nobles and commoners alike. One day he may play for a king, and the next at some local tavern in the slums. Selene Jual [Laftiil] Race: Ikran Sex: Female Age: 31 Class: Bard/Cleric/Moondancer of Laftiil/Dervish Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Laftiil Description: . Personality: . Background: . Lyanis Naesti [Hiahel] Race: Deathless Wood Elf Sex: Female Age: 1378 Class: Cleric/Martyr of Hiahel/Risen Martyr Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Hiahel Personality: Friendly, yet withdrawn, open yet secretive, Lyanis swings between these and other quirks depending on who she is with and what they are talking about. In general however, she is a very kind-hearted person, as befits the Archgate of Hiahel and one whom Hiahel himself returned to Aheka so that she could protect them. While she possesses many of the traits common to Hiahel and his followers, Lyanis is more prone to secrecy, though typically only when the subject of what exactly she was brought back to Aheka to do after her death years after the Demongate Wars ended and the first of many Demon's Moons came and went (see background). Background: Lyanis is one of the three last 'living' Elves in all of Aheka, along with the Demi-God of magic and knowledge Tiaan, a Sun Elf, and the Demi-God Lalian, a Vampire Lord Moon Elf. Like Lalian however, she is technically dead, being one of the rare Deathless in Aheka, and was brought back as such by Hiahel for the general reason of protecting Aheka. However, the Gods do not create a Risen Martyr often, which has lead many to suspect that the last Wood Elf has some other, and more secretive, duty. Lyanis currently resides in Kast, though she has called every country in Aheka except for the recently formed Ikra her 'home' at one point or another over the last thousand years or so. As she travels often, she keeps homes all throughout Aheka, but tends to do this only out of duty, preferring to 'settle down' for a few decades or centuries in one country before moving on to somewhere else. Sei'Theofan Rudaa [Tahllys] Race: Winged Rudaa [represented an Avariel-touched Rudaa] Sex: Male Age: 29 Class: Druid/Storm Sentinel/Skyrunner of Tahllys/Elemental Savant Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Tahllys Description: Theofan is tall for a Rudaa, standing at a little under six and a half feet tall, with his wings, fully spread, measuring over twice that, at around fourteen feet. Due to being an Elemental Savant, his skin has taken on a green-ish blue hue, though he is still just as pale as he was before. He never wears armour, prefering to use his agility and flight to avoid his enemies. Personality: Theofan is a kind man but his kin liken him to the Storm Spines themselves: calm one moment and then raining destruction the other. That is not to say he is a violent man, however he has no qualms with striking the first blow against an enemy and often does his best to make his first blow the last blow, as he prefers not to drag things out. Despite his stature and power (Theofan is widely considered to be the most powerful of the 'mortal' Archgates [i.e. except those who have divine ranks in their own right, such as Jester, Nykal, Alainn and Kerberos) Theofan is generally a kind and gentle man who prefers to seek out peaceful solutions, although when he chooses to fight the very air around him seems to shake in anticipation of the storm about to strike. Background: Despite being only half-Rudaa, Theofan has inhereted both their boon (the Aud) and their bane (the ill health that typically comes with it). In fact, the Rudaa had long been worried for his life when he was a child, teenager and young man. Even as an adult he was plagued by ill health due to his especially strong Aud, but it did not stop him from performing his duties or helping others. It got to the point where every time he would use his own lightning to strike someone down he would cough up blood, but even then he refused to simply sit back and ignore his duty to Quall, to the Rudaa, and later to the people of Aheka once he had become a Sei at the young age of 19. It was only when Tahhlys chose him to be his new Archagate that Theofan's health improved, as he no longer suffers from his chronic ill-health, however he and the Rudaa know that he is now living on borrowed time, having lived past the age it was predicted he would die if he continued to use the Aud without thought to his own health. All that is keeping the champion of the Storm Spines alive is the will of Tahllys. Shara Segali [Ruaci] Race: Nihleese Obsidian-touched Sex: Female Age: 34 Class: Swashbuckler/Sorcerer/Abjurant Champion/Judgemaster of Ruaci/Argent Savant Alignment: Lawful Good Deity: Ruaci [img][/img] Description: Shara is tall for a Nihleese, standing at about 6ft tall, with long black hair and grey eyes - typical for those with Obsidian Dragon blood. Her skin is surprisingly pale too, which has led many to call her a "reverse" of her Goddess (since Ruaci has light hair and dark skin, while Shara has dark hair and light skin). As an Archgate and leader of the Shades Shara has very high quality clothes however practicality is paramount and even on the rare occasions that she attends noble events she has a tendancy towards wearing her military uniform and chainshirt. Personality: Shara is uncompromising, stubborn and ruthless, however she is also caring, nurturing and loyal. Like her Goddess she is not one to show mercy or hold back against her enemies however she is kind and caring not only to those she calls friend but all who are not her enemy, which mainly constitutes Fiends and those who associate with them. Background: Shara, along with her twin brother Raeth, is one of the great success stories of Nihl, as she was born a commoner and started her military career at the very bottom. As well as working her way up in military ranks she was also a devout worshipper of Ruaci and joined her clergy as a Judgemaster. With the death of her predacessor five years ago Shara was selected by Ruaci herself to assume the role of her Archgate at the same time as her brother Raeth was selected to be Koehluth's Archgate. As an Archgate Shara was originally expected to resign from the Nihleese military since it was neccessary that she remain politically neutral like all Archgates however a compromise was reached instead with Shara taking over as the leader of the Shades since their mandate extends beyond simply protecting Nihl and are its last line of defence from internal strife. In this way Shara can remain polticially neutral since she has the authority, by being the leader of the Shades, to legally overthrow Nihleese politicians and military leaders if they attempt to alter, change or ignore Nihl's core values (namely their neutraility). Because of this Shara is also the only publically known Shade, with the various other members being secret. Technically, this also gives her the rank of general however the Nihleese forego lesser ranks for higher ranks with few excepts (Royalty in the military being the most common example, since they like all others must serve) so even her military subordinates refer to her as Archgate rather than as a general. Shara is most well known for being a powerful warrior-mage who specialises in abjuration and evocation magic, in particular force spells, her favourite weapon being the Elven Thinblade. Although far from weak she mostly fights with her magic and with precision rather than the overwhelming force favoured by her twin. Sei'Rae[th] Segali [Koehluth] Race: Nihleese Obsidian-touched Sex: Male Age: 34 Class: Warblade/Crusader/Warlord of Koehluth Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Koehluth [img][/img] Description: Raeth, like his sister, has black hair and grey eyes, however his hair is cut short and due to his travels is skin is more tanned. Surprisingly, Raeth is a few inches shorter than his sister, a fact that many find surprising as the previous Archgate was well known for his height and physical might. Personality: Those who know Raeth would call him simple. Not in the derrogatory sense but to show that he has a rather simply ideology and drive: to help and protect others. Unlike his twin, who strictly enforces order, Raeth does what he feels needs to be done, whether that be the lawful thing to do or not. He is known to have a particular fondness for training others and has taken on two apprentices during his time as an Archgate although he does not have one at the moment. Background: Raeth, along with his twin sister Shara, is one of the great success stories of Nihl, as he was born a commoner and started his military career at the very bottom. As well as working his way up in military ranks surprisingly quickly he was also a devout worshipper of Koehluth and joined the Sei 10 years ago where he made a name for himself fighting worhsippers of Deimos and Malvain in particular. With the death of his predacessor five years ago Raeth was surprised to find himself selected by Koehluth to be his new Archgate since he was not a member of the clergy at the time. Since the Sei were already requried to remain neutral Raeth was able to remain among their ranks, like Sei'Theofan, and has spent the last five years as a figurehead, hero and role-model not just for those faithful to Koehluth but all those who wish to become Sei too. Raeth is currently aiding the Shalians in the so-called 3rd Sharlan Civil War between Sharak and Shali, along with his fellow Sei and Archgate Theofan (see above). Álainn [Lunvai] Race: Nymph Sex: Female Age: ? [Álainn was a young Nymph during the Demongate Wars, but her exact age is unknown, as even she has forgotten it] Class: Fey/Druid/Holt Warden Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Lunvai Description: . Personality: . Background: . Nykal, the White Phoenix [Kirin] Race: Silver-touched Aasimar Sex: Male Age: 83 (appears to be in mid-twenties) Class: Swordsage/Master of the Nine/Gate Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Kirin Description: Nykal is rather tall, clearing 6ft by a couple of inches, though his build is more lithe and sineous for the most part. The only real giveaway to his Celestial heritage is his unnaturally bright blue eyes, as his platinum blond hair, while rare, is not neccassarily extraordinary and actually the result of his slight Draconic Heritage too. He is not one to worry over his appearance and, as a result, can be found wearing dirty and worn clothing more often than not. Contrary to his apathy about his clothing, he makes sure to keep his armour and skin clean, though that is more to do with sanitary reasons rather than for appearance's sake. Personality: Nykal is humble to a fault, and lives his life with a philosphy of doing any good wtithin your power, no matter how big or small. He possess the grace, insight and personal magnetism of a typical Aasimar, however his demeaner and somewhat bedraggled appearance dissuades most from reading further into this. Ever since his enslavement to Zera he has done all he can to reduce the deaths and sufferings of others, as it is the only freedom he possesses now. Background: Nykal is an orphan, though that is not to say he was not cared for and loved as a child. He was fortunate enough to have been left at the doorstep of a good orphanage and, because he was never adopted, in part due to his Celestial heritage, he remained there until he was too old to be cared for. He often returns to give little trinkets aquired during his travels to the children and donate money to the running of the orphanage itself. Shortly after leaving the orphanage Nykal was approached by a Swordsage who offered a trial to test whether he was worthy to be taught, which Nykal accepted, though more out of a need for an occupation than a passion for fighting. Despite his apathy for fighting at the time, it became clear during the trial that Nykal possessed a great amount of talent, resulting in the Swordsage being more than happy to pass on his teachings to the young boy. After completing his training and travelling with his mentor for a few years, Nykal has left to follow his own path and traveled Aheka as a wandering sellsword. His almost 'ordinary' demeanor often hides his Celestial heritage and he is a very humble individual, quick to rise to the defense of those who can not defend themselves and always doing something. For someone of his talent, skill and noteriety, Nykal has actually had very few 'grand' adventurers/events. Most of his fame stems from the few times he happened to help an important individual or group, or from the fact he gives most of his money to the orphanage he was raised in. The only real event of worth, which is also the reason for his now quite common place nickname/title and much of his magical items, is when he aided a rich Noble of Halva, who had been enspelled by a powerful Succubus. Nykal, who had, admitedly by chance, discovered the true identity of the Noble's soon-to-be wife, proceeded to attempt to draw out the Succubus into revealing itself to the public. Part of the reason he succeeded lay in the Peripat of Wisdom he had been gifted by his teacher and his already very high willpower, preventing the Demon from enspelling him as well. He succeeded in his endeaver, also managing to kill the foul creature when she tried to get her revenge on him. It was not an easy fight however, and it left the young Aasimar in a state of near death, only saved by the immediate aid of many Clerics who were called to heal him by the Noble. Upon awaking, looking far better than he felt and wondering how he had survived, Nykal was very embarrassed when he found out that during the long time he had spent unconscious, tales of 'the White Phoenix' had spread all over the city thanks to the Noble. Amongst the nickname (which the noble felt he needed due to the lack of a surname), the Noble gifted Nykal with new armour and a new sword, both of extremely high quality, to replace what was ruined in his fight. On top of this, he was given an equally magical and high quality cloak (that rarely looks it, due to the aforementioned apathy about his appearance). To further his embarrassment, he quickly noticed they were all obviously specially made for him, being fashioned with an obvious 'white phoenix' motif. They were by far the most expensive things he had ever owned, let alone received, and he is careful to keep them in working condition (though not necessarily sparkling) and uses them out of respect and politeness to the Noble. Though in truth, if he had not received them as gifts he likely would have sold them and given the proceeds to the orphanage... Unlike many other Archgates, there was no one event that brought Nykal to Kirin's attention, it was Nykal's penchance for doing all kinds of good, from the smallest deed to the grandest of gestures. Unfortunately, both he and Kirin are powerless to break Zera's hold of Nykal, a hold Zera managed to establish as they had both come from the same orphanage and grew up together, although Zera chose the opposite path to Nykal, though in secret so he could keep his 'friend' on his own side. His current whereabouts are unknown, however he did emerge again 5 years ago, after 50 years of being thought to be dead, to help against the Demon threat, fighting alongside his other old friend, Jester, for perhaps the last time. The Jester of the Demon's Moon [Fenrir] Race: Half-Elf Lakarn of Hate (though he has both Fey and Demon blood too) Sex: Male Age: ? (appears to be in mind-twenties) Class: Warlock/Blood Magus/Urban Ranger Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Fenrir Description: Jester stands a few inches short of 6 feet and remarkably tall for a Half-Elf. His dark brown (bordering on black) hair is wild and unkempt, often blowing about in the wind much to his own annoyance. His most striking feature is without a doubt his eyes, which, even were it not for the blood red colour, are incredibly bright, often drawing the gaze of those who look at him. Though they are rarely seen, Jester has a huge amount of scars across his torso (front and back) which are the results of his parents' 'teaching'. He also scars himself and draws demonic or demonic-like runes on his skin, though these are his equivelant of scribing a scoll and should not be confused with any kind of religious views, as Jester abhors Demons and all Evil Outsiders in general abolve all others. Personality: Jester is very prone to anger, although it is rare for him to loose his self-control and physically lash out at someone unless the situation calls for it (though he has no qualms about verbally lashing out). On the rare occasion that he truly gives into this anger (which is almost exclusively focused on fiendish creatures or those associated with them) Jester shows what some may consider his 'true colours' by giving into the twisted desires of his fiendish blood. He also has no qualms about taking 'extreme measures' to accomplish what he sees as a greater good, and has been known to use tactics more often associated with those of a neutral or evil disposition rather than good (such as torturing someone for information and the like). Jester also has a very strong chaotic bent made all the more prominent by his demonic and Elven nature. Due to this Jester has little or no respect to laws, although that is not to say he will break a law without good reason (or even break a law at all), he just makes it painfully aware that he considers such laws and those who blindly follow them foolish. Jester is a highly private person, and possibly the best summary of this habit was by one of the few people he calls 'friend', the Archgate of Kirin Nykal, who said that Jester "is what he wants people to think he is". It is well known that "the jester of the Demon's Moon" (see background for origin) is simply his most well known and public persona, and that he has used (and will continue using) other idenentities. One of the worst things to do with Jester (and a 'good' way for him to make your life a living hell) is to read his mind, and it is because he wants his intentions and thoughts to be private that he never takes off his Ring of Mind-shielding. Jester's primary and only real motivation for his travels and training is to cut a bloody swathe through any and all evil denizens that cross his path, in particular evil Outsiders. More specifically Jester is motivated to do this for three reasons. The first is revenge for the way he was raised, the second is to find the fiend who brought his parents together and orchestrated his birth (which he has found next to no clues on, even to indicate whether a Devil, Demon or other Outsider was responsible) and the third and by far least known is to make sure no one else suffers as he did and does. Though Jester comes off as an abrasive and hate-filled person (which he generally is), he is content living that way, having actively chose to do so, fighting his own battles for his own reasons and being the 'necessary evil' that does to evil as evil does to others. Above all, he prides himself on being a monster that other monsters fear. Background: The problem with attemptng to recount many of Jester's actions, is, due to his secrecy and disguises, they are very hard to definately trace to him. One of the few, and certainly most well known, actions that has certainly been attributed to him, is the one that earned him the moniker he generally goes by and is known the the public as now. Around several, moderately sized towns, there was a time that they dreaded above all else: the infamous "Demon's Moon", only it was happening with more frequency than in the rest of Aheka. During this time various Demons would stalk the areas, toying with anyone they found and killing them. It was as a result of an evil Conjurer, who wished to keep the villages fearing him so that they would be too scared to report any of his other actions. Though it all changed when a mysterious, red-eyed Elf-touched appeared on one such occasion, and then the Demons became the hunted: either blasted, sliced, beaten and/or toyed with and taunted as they did to the people of the villages. He gave no name to the villagers, even when they sought him out, in fear or to thank him, and simply called himself 'a monster'. It was this response, coupled with his toying and taunting of the Demons (something which generally infuriated them rather than scared them), that begun the rumours of the "Jester of the Demon's Moon" to circulate around the area, eventually reaching the evil Wizard. It was the Wizard all along that had been Jester's true target, knowing it would not stop until he was stopped, and so he deliberately played the part to get them to speak of him, to get the Wizard to come to him. The battle between the two was fiercesome, and though, perhaps in terms of sheer power and experience, Jester was unmatched, every blow struck against him (whether magical or mundane) barely seemed to slow him down, and he kept up his furious assault until the mage had exhausted his own abilities. In what is now seen as a typical display, Jester proceeded to turn the Wizard's tortures and creations against him, sending him to the Abyss to be the plaything of the Demons he had manipulated and destroying all he had worked for at the expense of the villagers, leaving them anything of value that was untainted. Kerberos [Fisali] Race: Unknown Sex: Male Age: ? Class: ? Alignment: ? Deity: Fisali Description: The 8th Archgate is unique amongst the other Archgates because, in a similar vein to the Quartet (who were in fact inspired by Kerberos to some extent), each Kerberos assumes the mantle and identity of the last, so that no one is entirely sure when one dies or leaves and another rises to take their place. The current Kerberos stands at roughly 6ft tall, but they all have short black hair and wear a mask with 'two-faces', the right side appearing Fiendish while the left appearing Celestial. It has two eye-holes, through which one can see Kerberos has one blue eye and another red, though on the left-side of the mask (which, strangely enough, is the one the red eye is on) there is a tear-drop on the mask, directly under the eye-hole. Keberos also wears a black long-coat with the right arm sleeveless and the left arm’s baggy sleeve extending to the base of his left hand’s fingers. The right hand part of the long-coat’s collar was also several inches high, roughly going up to the tip of his nose (if he turns right that is), and the front of it is strapped together in a criss-cross pattern - revealing a white leather cuirass underneath. He wears plain black leather gloves over both hands, however his right hand also has a strange bronze device that looks like part a gauntlet that extended from his palm/back of the hand to slightly behind the wrist. On the back of his hand, mounted on this bronze hand-wear, was a small sphere shaped ‘bulb’ that was divided into two parts (due to a horizontal line down the middle). This was in fact are very advanced piece of magic item that the Pharéans (and many others) have been trying to mimic for decades, and, when the two halves of the spheres opened (revealing an ‘eye’ that seemed to have a mind of it’s own) it would spread over his fingers and forearm, creating the bronze clawed gauntlet he called Sei, after which Jester named the group of the same name. The current Kerberos is left-handed, while the previous one was right-handed, because of this the above description is reversed whenever a right-handed Kerberos assumes the mantle (their whole appearance 'flipping' so that the Sei is on their off-hand). People of the Southern Continent* (Part Three)
* - Except for Halvan Nobles (inc. Kinships) and members of the Halvan military, each of which have their own thread. King Kaeyin Sakean of Sharak Kaeyin the Crow, The Crow-King of Sharak Race: Sharakan. Sex: Male. Age: 43. Class: Sorcerer/Pact Summoner. Alignment: True Neutral or Neutral Evil (depending on who you ask). Deity: Unknown, generally assumed to be Fiendish (Deimos in particular). [img][/img] Description: . Personality: King Kaeyin is a very polarising figure surrounded by rumour, propaganda and hearsay that gives the impression that he is an unknown entity of some description. His supporters tend to paint him as a benevolent ruler, albeit one with an iron fist, who strikes deals with evil religions, cults and Fiends for the betterment of his people, while his detractors paint him as a power-hungry tyrant seeking any means neccessary to make himself stronger. Regardless of his intentions and morality, all agree that Kaeyin is a ruthless and cunning individual, having done more in his two decades of rule to clean up Sharakan politics (even if said cleaning up gave him much more power than before), and greatly reduce its corruption, than any other Sharakan ruler has in their entire reign. Granted, one of the key ways he has done this is to make the dealings of politics more upfront, rather than to get rid of it entirely. For example, previous rulers have kept their agreements with the various evil relgions and cults clandestine in nature, while Kaeyin treats such dealings just as he would any other group's and has made no attempt to hide the fact that he has made deals with them. While his love for his people is often brought into question by those who oppose him, none question his devotion to his family, in particular his eldest child and only daughter, Aldamil, whom his wife gave birth to when he was still a young prince, at the age of 17, and 6 years before he became King. This is clearest shown by the fact that he has ignored the Sharakan tradition of the eldest son being heir and instead announced Aldamil as the heir to his throne, which would make her only the third Queen to take up the Sharakan throne in its entire history. Because his name means Crow in Sharakan (and Shalian still for that matter), Kaeyin has numerous nicknames and titles revolving around them, the most common being Kaeyin the Crow, however he quickly chose to embrace this, often having black wings on his clothing if not a full-fledged crow or some other nod to "his feathered friends". Background: Kaeyin has been the King of Sharak for the last two decades, during which he has not only made Sharakan politcs far more open (even if it is still rather corrupt in the eyes of most other countries) but sharply increased Sharak's international might through a combination of trade, dealings (often with Fiends) and, in terms of actual military might, learning from the Church of Deimos and followers of Malvain, both of whom make up an unusually large amount of the Sharakan military now compared to the past (and also far more openly). He is thought to be the mastermind behind the recent hostility towards Shali, although the reasons are not entirely clear as to why he has recently decided to start up a third war between the two nations. There are others that believe he was influenced by either Deimos or his two Fiendish advisors, the Pit Fiend Valax and the Brachina Verrine. Kaeyin's only sibling is his younger brother, Vespar Emlen Sakean, who fled Sharak eleven years ago when the King allegedly uncovered a coup plot by him. The whereabouts of Vespar and the Sharakans who fled with him are currently unknown. Princess Aldamil Sakean of Sharak Race: Sharakan. Sex: Female. Age: 27. Class: Sorcerer/Arcane Savant/Spellweaver. Alignment: True Neutral or Neutral Evil (depending on who you ask). Deity: Tiaan. Personality: Like her father (and the Sharakan Royal Family in general) Aldamil is surrounded by rumours, hearsay and propaganda about her, however there are two key aspects of her personality that remain constant. The first is a great sense of loyalty to her family, in particular her father, and the second is an intense love of magic, fueled by her natural talent for sorcerery. Also like her father, she has gained a reputation for being a cunning and charismatic individual, having gained a large following during her time in Halva (see below) however in part due to her time away from home she tends to be seen in a more sympathetic light than her father (though not by much and usually only by Halvan Nobles). Background: Aldamil was born while Kaeyin, her father, was still a young prince (only 17 years old) however he had long been his own father's chosen heir despite being the youngest of four children, meaning that Aldamil was greatly spoiled as a child and dotted on by both her parents and her grandparents. This only increased when her father became King and once he noticed an unusually strong talent for magic within Aldamil he knew he had to nurture it as best he could, and the best way to do that was to send her to a foreign academy, specifically the Dragonblaze Academy in Halvanna, which is especially geared towards Sorcerers and other natural spellcasters. Such was his protectiveness of Aldamil that Kaeyin sent one of his own advisors, the shapeshifting Brachina Verrine, to keep an eye on her (in addition to the two dozen strong guards and dozen or so servants that accompanied the princess who ensured her safety and generally looked after her during her time away from Sharak). Aldamil only returned from this education four years ago, after having spent twelve years learning at the Dragonblaze Academy and as a result is far more savvy about other countries than most other royals, even her own father and in particular Halva, having spent a little under half her life there. Ever since her return to Sharak there have been rumours that she and her father are looking for a husband for her, to ensure the Sakean legacy survives through her, a rumour that Nobles not only in Sharak but across Aheka have been greatly interested in, especially given Kaeyin's already unorthodox choices (such choosing a daughter as an heir and sending her away to another country to hone her magical talent for 12 years). Zera Race: Half-Halvan, Half-Elernan. Sex: Male. Age: 84. Class: Telepath [Psion]/Thrallherd/Mindbender. Alignment: Neutral Evil. Deity: Unknown, presumed None. Description: Zera's appearance is not well known, since he has been underground for over half a century, leaving few people with memories of his appearance and fewer still with memories good enough to give a good or consistent description. What is known is that he had dark hair (either brown or black); blue, grey or green eyes; and shared both distinctive Elernan and Halvan features that made his mixed heritage easy to see. Personality: Zera is a highly intelligent and charismatic megolomaniac, often said to be capable of talking a happy man into killing himself even without his psionic abilities. It is a testament to his psionic abilities and this natural talent when it came to dealing with people that only one man (Jester) suspected he had anything to do with the numerous conflicts that started to spring up about Aheka around 60 years ago, and even he did not expect Zera to be the mastermind behind it, but merely a pawn. Little else is known about him, or at least considered accurate, as it became obvious that how he had acted for most of his life up to that point was merely a front, making his true motivations unknown though widely theorised about. Background: Zera is a Nameless raised within a Halvan orphanage, having been abbandoned at their doorstep like so many others when only a few weeks old and raised there for all of his childhood until he was old enough to join the Halvan army, where he used his natural cunning, charisma and psionic abilities to quickly make a name for himself. During his time in the orphanage he made only one close friend, Nykal, who later became the Knight of the Twilight Wolf, with the pair of them seeming to consider the other as a brother. By the time he was in his late twenties there was increasing talk of him, with several of his most outspoken (and high ranking) supporters (including two Generals) suggesting that he should be made a Noble and gifted a surname by the King (and later the Queen too) himself in return for his services, however it was just as this was being discussed, when Zera's future looked brightest, that Jester uncovered his involvement and called him out on it, forcing Zera to attempt his coup far too early and resulting in the final battle of the Betrayer Wars that ended up destroying Vlan. It was not until five years ago that Zera was officially recognised as having re-emerged, seemingly not having aged in the past half a century or so, and his current whereabouts (or actions) are unknown, though widely feared of. Misae Wiat Race: Shalian. Sex: Male. Age: 32. Class: Warblade/Wizard/Jade Phoenix Mage/Eighth Knight. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Deity: Fisali. [img][/img] Description: Misae is a rather stereotypical Shalian in terms of appearance - with platinum blond hair and blue eyes, however after his exile (see below) he began to grow his hair and stopped shaving often (something that is generally looked down upon by the Shalian nobility), giving him facial hair (the exact length varies, but he shaves it when it starts to become a beard) and a pony-tail that makes him distinctive. Misae has kept his Eighth Knight armour and uniform, albeit, he has removed the official insignias, believing himself unworthy of them after he was exiled from Shali and thereby the Eighth Knights too. He typically wears a travelling cloak over his armour and will rarely remove it. Personality: Misae is, despite being an exiled and disgraced Shalian Noble and Eighth Knight, a patriot at heart, and even as a mercenary he seeks to aid his home country and uses contacts he still has within his home country to pass on money to his family and information to Shali. He is also an honourable and generally decent man, however his exile has diminished this somewhat, leading to him becoming much more accepting of behaviour and actions he would not have tolerated before (i.e. he used to be Lawful Good). Background: Misae was the firstborn son of the Wiat family, one of the oldest Noble families in Shali and a long-standing friend of the royal family. As a result, Misae and Xander knew each other well, being the same age and having spent most of their time education together, from learning to read and write to their entry into the Eighth Knights. Although not as good a friend to Xander as Kato was, Misae and the Prince were still friends nonetheless. Misae made his name as a master of blending various styles of fighting together, in particular blade magic and wizardry, and quickly lived up to his family's name (Wiat literally means "sun") however it was this specialty that would lead to his exile. The Eight Blades, sentient artifacts created by Fisali and given to the first Eighth Knights, had traditionally been spread across Shali, with the four still in their possession spread between the Eighth Knights and various members of the Royal family. One such blade, known as The Blade of Stars, had been dormant for centuries, having refused everyone who attempted to wield it, and was therefore kept within an open shrine by the Eighth Knights in the hope that it would react to someone and choose a new wielder. Misae was amongst a group of other young Eighth Knights (including Xander) when they each tried to pick up the weapon to see if they would be chosen by it. Unfortunately, when Misae grasped the weapon it immediately awakened and began to merge its mind with Misae's, something that the young Eighth Knight did not know would happen. Thinking something was wrong and that it was a trap or other adverse effect, Misae fought the merger both mentally and by trying to destroy the sword. In the confusion, when Misae's magic was augmented by the sword, he accidently killed a fellow Eighth Knight and Noble. Given what had happened and Misae's family he was spared death, however the Noble's family would not accept any punishment less than exile, and so Misae was cast out from Shali. It took Misae several years to come to terms with this, during which time he used his magic to get by, and he eventually decided he would continue to help Shali, even if Shali had abbadnoned him, and began working as a mercenary to gain contacts who could pass on information and money for him into Shali. It was during this time that he was invited to join Walking Dead by Jin, a offer than Misae accepted. Misae most often works with Keiara (see People of the Eastern Continent), an Elernan woman with an affinity for throwing knifes, a foul mouth, and borderline psychopathic tendancies. During their partnership during the last four years the two have formed an unusual friendship, with Keiara having mellowed out considerably as a result (she's far more likely to warn you before throwing a dagger into your eye for instance). Vespar Emlen Sakean The Lost Prince, The Exiled Race: Sharakan. Sex: Male. Age: 36. Class: Sorcerer. Alignment: Lawful Neutral or Lawful Evil (depends on who you ask). Deity: Unknown. [img][/img] Description: All that is known about Vespar's appearance is that he has a strong family resemblance, although more to his niece than to his brother oddly enough. Personality: The most well known thing about Vespar, other than his being an exile, is his preference for being called Emlen and his unabridged hatred of his first name. Background: Vespar fled Sharak eleven years ago after an alleged planned coup was uncovered and several of his supposed conspirators were imprisoned. He is generally believed to have fled to Ikra, however it was never confirmed and his current whereabouts and intentions are unknown. Archmagister Edana Diosn Race: Dawnish. Sex: Female. Age: 39. Class: Sorcerer/Wonderworker. Alignment: True Neutral. Deity: Laftiil. Description: . Personality: . Background: . ~MTWC
