3.5e and Pathfinder both have online SRDs.

Sorry should have mentioned 4e, I might look into 3.5e after learning the basics to see how they differ. I have a bad habit of thinking up a story and then immediately going into a "Does this fit the lore/history/realm setting?" kind of mentality. After that I either don't follow through with a character or start a new one.

Another quick question is: I have the demo for the character builder from WotC, I'm guessing that it's generally accepted to make a character using that here unless its not DnD or the DM says so?

Basically, 4e fixes many problems with 3e, and makes the game a lot more balanced across classes (like the 2e => 3e thing tried to do), as well as making many more options for all players. It also makes the DM's job a whole lot easier, and has more interesting battles (base line of having 5 monsters vs 5 PCs, instead of 1 monster vs 5 PCs). Of course, with 4e's various types of monsters (solo, elite, normal, minion), you can have fewer or more, too!

It is indeed great to use that (if the game you are playing is level 1-3). If you have a google account, go check out iplay4e, and update your saved character file there for a really easy-to-use character sheet. (the only issue is that without having a full subscription to WotC's DnDi, you won't have direct access to the links, but all the addition, power bonuses, and even ability to check off used powers, is there!)

Thanks for that, I saw some members using it but didn't know it was tied to google, or that it could use the builder. I mainly use it to start a character (kinda weak since I mostly rely on it but meh).

no problem It's a great tool, especially for those with DnDi accounts, but still good otherwise

Question: Does "DnDOG's Top Poster" equal "DnDOG's Top Addict"?

Hehe I'm not sure how you would measure 'addict' levels here. However, I will have to say that the "top poster" bit more accurately represents "crazy DM". I have DMed quite a few games that not only had a whole lot of people, but a whole lot of separate threads. "Heroes Gauntlet" still goes now, which has had over 20 teams participate - and when you update that many threads each round, well, the posts add up. Thankfully, the numbers have dropped in that game!

Let's define addicted. How much hours a day do you spend here? Have you ever considered quitting? Has anyone (offline) ever told you that you should quit DnDOG? Have you ever thought yourself that you ought to cut back on the amount of time spent on it?

ooh...assuming you mean "many", 2-4, sometimes less (eg, 0 every second Friday, some Thursdays), sometimes more (eg weekends when nothing else is on)

Nope.

Nope. not even my wife.

Sometimes, yeah. But then I'll have a stretch where none of my games are updating, and I won't have all that much to do, so I realise that no, there's no immediate need. My main desire to cut back would be to refocus in more interesting areas (ie, dropping a slow / not moving game to focus more into an interesting, faster game).

No other reasons, such as have more time with wife and kid, do more sports, make music, read books, go outside, etc?
What kind of work did you do again?

Yes, I meant 'many' When I'm tired I get sloppy with grammar... In Dutch we usually don't use plural versions of 'much', as the singular version can be used correctly for plural too So much for the etiology of a mistake

Starting at the end - outside has sun

I've read. I have read a heck of a lot, and I find myself less interested in reading currently. I will still read on holidays, I'll work through some series, but largely, I don't read that much any more.

I also don't have that much desire to make music. It takes too much effort, really I do play the bass guitar, but only at the sunday morning service for our church.

I don't do sports, and have little desire to do any more. I have done things in the past, but seem only to injure myself. I broke my toe, and developed a bad arthritis in my large toe joint last time I played indoor soccer (and was playing 'outdoor' soccer and touch football as well). I was told by my specialist never to play them again. Plus, if I wanted to ignore his advice, I could do that at work, as we have various comps running at lunchtimes.

And, I do spend quite a bit of time with my wife and daughter. I even solely look after the little one on monday + wednesday evenings, when my wife goes to work.

I'm an engineer, and largely spend the day in front of a computer writing up various reports. On a high point, I live about 10-20 minutes from work. And, the workday is 7 hours and 21 minutes long.

So yeah, I have a fair bit of time on my hands

It's not so much plurals as what it is describing. "many" is for things you can count in integers, "much" is for quantities. So you may ask how "much" water someone has, or how "many" buckets of it.

But being forced to take control to protect those following him.

The game is also the oldest game I am playing in, running up 569 days as of today. I don't think any of my other characters have ever lasted that long. In fact, my next oldest "active" character is Pohl, who is 154 days today. And, I think that only one of my older, "retired" characters got close to that age. (Poor Bekke never had a chance... )

So it could well be the time I have been playing it for adding to my like for the character, but that is the one that I hold as 'special' at the moment
!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
I was totally in that campaign! I played Cambion Rhule until circumstances caused a total collapse of my PbP gaming. My old screen name, Khukhullen was blocked so I made a new one when I started playing again not long ago.

And sorry for the necro post. And the spittle. I got excited.

I started playing the campaign from the first turn. I had to quit shortly after the first battle and just as the first splinter thread was being formed. There was some clandestine meeting on a rooftop (that I wasn't invited to and shouldn't have attended/posted in) to displace the current leader, whoooo's name eludes me at this time.

Cambion Rhule (my character) was a wood elf barbarian? ranger? don't remember. Anyway, he was an obnoxious buffoon that I had a great deal of fun playing. Don't quite know about how everyone else felt about him.
