I'm going to suggest a few tweaks for some backgrounds to fit the campaign setting better. Nothing major, and not even factored in the selection process.

That is less waiting, but the waiting is still aggravating. Its like Christmas except the gift might be nothing.

I hear you, Elfman. Some of the other games I've applied to lately, the gift was less than nothing. The games themselves never happened, so you write an app and get excited about the possibility of playing a character and then not only do you not get in, no one gets in. The DM disappears into the mists and you're left holding a concept that probably won't fit another game. |

Oh, I understand the frustration of waiting. I wish I could take everyone who applies, but those games tend not to last long. For the record, I hate waiting, too - I want to get to the part where I tell the story, rather than talk about it!

Changed backstory to reflect Mouse's farm being closer to Sandpoint. There is no need to involve the fort at all, actually.

Also changed backstory, so Halton doesn't leave home so randomly.

Added a little extra to get my character closer to Sandpoint.
Would the very troglodyte like Eidolon be accepted in Sandpoint? Or would it be driven off with torches and pitchforks out of reflex? |

That would probably depend a lot on what it was doing. First reaction would likely be fear, and a call to the town guard. It (and you) would probably be watched for a while, and you may be told to leave some of the shops, but you probably wouldn't be run out of town unless you caused trouble.
Now... the selection process has begun. No further submissions or edits will be noticed. (I open each page in tabs and don't hit refresh.) I'll post my decisions shortly.

There are a lot of great applications, and I wish I could just take everyone... but a ten-person game would be a bit much. I am, however, going to accept four people rather than three.
The choices are: The Firkraag, Elfman6, Saidande, and Keiran.
Feel free to post in the game forum. I'll have communication threads up for you very soon. Quite probably before you read this. For those who didn't make it in, post a comment to the effect after this and I'll send you a head's up if I ever reopen recruiting. Thank you all for applying.

I would still be interested in joining this game. I'd be most interested in playing the character that I originally applied with, but if you prefer, I'm sure I could come up with something else.
That said, I'm still involved in a lot of other games. Last edited by copatt; Mar 26th, 2011 at 03:30 PM. |

Name: Zorra
Alignment: TN Race: gray elf Age: 19 Class: witch Appearance: she's skinny, not too much, just normal, 1.7 meters tall. Zorra has dark brown middle long hair and two longer blond locks on every side of the face. Dark Violet eyes are perfectly concluded with thin shaped eyebrows. She appears with, how would we call it today, "smokey" eyes. Her skin is a bit pale and her lips are in a color of a leaf in a fall when it became dark red. She also have some scars. (explanation in short a background story) She wears a lot of different clothes, mixed together, and she always wears fox ears on the top of her head. (I love to draw my characters, so if you accidentally pick me, I will make a drawing-I prefer, I love visuals) Background: As long as she remembers, she lived with a human druid Gordon in a forest, in small, charming wooden hut. He never told her any stories about how she got here, and she never asked. He was a merchant who worked with some nature based potions, herbs, strange "voodoo" like items, protective items (I would say, something as a witch, Tia Dalma/Calypso from the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). one day when he left in the forest, he never came back and that's when her adventure starts. She decided to left her home start developing herself and find her step dad. At that time, she was 17 (in human age) and on her journey, she noticed the same little fox, everywhere she went. One day, she was captured by some savage villains. Zorra was kept there for 2 years. They used her to do some strange rituals and giving to their god. Even then, the Fox remained close and somehow observed all that. In the nights when she was in her prison cell, the Fox came to her and they spend that moments together. After some time, Zorra started to feel changes, she became stronger and got some inner magic, she knew it had something with the fox. Once when villains where taking her to the one more ritual, the fox created the distraction and Zorra escaped them. She never found out what were those sessions, as they spoke on a language she didn't understand, but she was left with several scars, some strange symbols and a burned scar of a sigil they used. The Fox became her friend and they started to adventure together and seek for the dragons, as her "dad" always spoke about them with great amusement. Personality and What does your character bring to the party, both in a fight and outside of one: She is spontaneous, risk taker, thrill seeker, adventurous, rule breaker, comfortable in unfamiliar situations, attracted to strange things, energetic, impulsive, dangerous, attachment prone. she is best at strange combat tactics, she's capable to damage an opponent, run away from him, distract, capture, she just love to improvise in a combat and she's very good at it! Zorra is protective and will usually go for saving her friends or people to whom she's obligated. Motivation for Adventuring and coming here: finding dragons, draconic artefacts, dragon scales, strange items with dark magic, learning about magic How many games are you currently in? this is the only one Have you ever played Rise of the Runelords before, and if so, how good are you at avoiding metagaming? no Last edited by sabrina9; Mar 27th, 2011 at 02:51 PM. |
