Probrants are a PT 3 Option at Eternity's End

Probrant History

Adulthood is reached at 1 year and age categories increase with each 100 years that pass.

Personality: Probrants have a range of personalities equal to those of other sentient beings, but most hold humans and other "breathers" with disdain. Some Probrants are virtually devoid of personality.

Language: Probrants speak Common.

Alignment: Probrants are generally neutral, but exceptions occur.

Religion: Just as most Probrants are not inclined to align themselves with any particular moral or ethical philosophy, few show much interest in religion. Some Probrants have found a kind of answer to the questions of their existence by taking up the cause of one religion or another, but these remain a small (if rather vocal) minority among their kind.

Gender: As constructs without the need to procreate, Probrants are often considered genderless though many adopt a gender to assume greater social responsibility.

Names: Probrant rarely name themselves andthis should be taken care of in your background often allow others to do so as when they are young, naming themselves Broom, Stick or Mop; John, Paul or Sandy, or; 157AX749 are just as likely. Generally speaking a Probrant will settle on a name when they feel they have earned a particular place in the multiverse and adopt temporary names until then.

Classes: Probrants are not restricted from participating in any particular class but they make very poor druids and are far more inclined to tanking or psionic roles depending on their body type and feat choices.

Probrant Racial Traits:

Ability Scores:
Step 1) Add +2 to either Str, Con, or Dex.
Step 2) Add +2 to either Str, Con, or Dex; do not choose the same score as in step 1.
Step 3) Pick Int, Wis, or Chr and apply a -2.
  • ProbrantLiving Construct Sub-Type
  • +3 to saves against mind-affecting effects, paralysis, fatigue, and exhaustion conditions.
  • Naturally repairs itself unless broken, disabled or dead, 1 HP per day.
  • Heal full damage from Repair Spells, but only Half Damage from Cure Spells. Take half damage from inflict.
  • At half total hit points or below, they become Broken and cease to heal naturally: -1 to attack and Damage roles, -1 AC, -1 Skill checks, Spell DC go down by 1.
  • At 0 HP or below they become disabled. They are automatically stabilized. If they become conscious, they cannot take any action that would cause them to become dying.
  • Does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, but he can still benefit from the effects of consumable spells and magic items such as heroes’ feast and potions.
  • Speed: 30 ft.
  • Size: Medium (choice)
  • Low Light Vision
  • The unusual physical construction of a Probrant makes them vulnerable to certain spells and effects that normally don’t affect living creatures. Likewise, a Probrant is affected by repel spells as if he were wearing armor of his body type, for example a Darkwood Probrant is repelled by repel wood.
  • As a living construct, a Probrant can be raised or resurrected
  • Although living constructs do not need to sleep, a Probrant caster must rest for 8 hours before preparing spells.
  • Probrant Body Type
  • Ancestral Knowledge: New Probrants are created by mixing past knowledge and personalities and reconfiguring them with randomized mathematical algorithms. Level 1 Probrants receive an additional skill point and whatever skill they spend it in is considered a class skill.

Alternate Racial Features:

Scout Model:
Prerequisite: Mithral or unarmored body type.
The Probrant's size is reduced to Small, and he gains +1 Dex and -1 Str. In addition he gains a +2 bonus to one of Acrobatics, Climb, Fly, Perception or Swim, and treats that skill as a class skill for all classes. This Alternate option must be chosen at character creation.

Probrant Favored Class Options
  • Alchemist: Add +1/2 to bomb damage.
  • Armiger: The armiger gains +1/5 of a new armiger talent.
  • Barbarian: Add +1 to rage rounds per day.
  • Fighter: Add +1 to the fighter's CMD when resisting bull rush or disarm attempts.
  • Gunslinger: The gunslinger gains +1/3 points of grit.
  • Magus: Add a +1/3 bonus on concentration checks, and on critical hit confirmation rolls with the magus's Spellstrike class feature (maximum bonus of +4 for the latter). This bonus does not stack with Critical Focus.
  • Rogue: Reduce the penalty for not being proficient with one weapon by 1. When the non-proficiency penalty for a weapon becomes 0 because of this ability, the rogue is treated as having the appropriate Martial or Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat for that weapon.
