![]() Facet Female, Gnome, Neutral Good Monk 2 / Cleric of Shelyn 5 Appearance Facet is highly noticeable in a crowd with her vibrant pinkish purple hair that would seem out of place on any other race but on a gnome its less so, the larger eyes and mouth which would be out of place on most races is only fitting for one of gnomish blood, her smallish stature and slight build is lithe and toned like that of a dancer. Light brown eyes take over her face with skin smooth and fresh despite her almost eighty years of age, pouty lips are a similarly pink shade but it is hard to tell if its natural or altered in some other fashion, her ears are swept back and pointed like most of fey blood. Her fashion choices are tailored to her, with her more prominent color choices being in the blue gray tones that set off against her hair, and she is rarely seen without her personally crafted jeweled symbol of the Shelyn. Personality Always one to see the bright side of any situation no matter how tenuous it might be, Facet gets along easily with others except for those who are more serious and in the glass half empty end of the spectrum and even then her personality can be a bit infectious. She shows care and concern for others, though isn't above some well meaning mischief and humor when she feels its appropriate for the world would be a drab place if we obsessed over the harder parts of life. She loves to examine and collect precious stones, sharing the details about them with others around her and even makes creative use of such stones through her divine gifts, a way to tie in beautiful things with the work she does under Shelyn's guidance. Background From birth Facet was drawn the shine and sparkle of polished gems in her parents workshop, where she would sit in wonder as the light shone upon the stones and were reflected in the world around her, with each gem and cut stone offering a unique pattern and color that were wonderous to behold. Her favorite memory is of her father expertly spinning a sapphire upon his well used work bench and watching her as she smiled in wonder, and as much as she loved all the stones the sapphires would always be her favorite, and as she got older they instilled in her the art of crafting such gemstones to reveal all their inner beauty for the world to see. It was a happy childhood, with devoted parents, and there was nothing she could have imagined that would have made it any more spectacular. Her parents were both avid followers of Shelyn and Facet's exposure to this devotion and the Goddess's beliefs shaped her early years and held her devotion well into her later years and beyond as well, it provided her with comfort and gave her life purpose. Wanting to explore the totality that the Goddess represented she joined a monastic order that followed her teachings where she proved that devotion, learning to move and dance using the weight and balance of the glaive to great effect, to play the flute in its varied harmonics and more importantly discovered more about herself. After a time she came to realize that the monastic lifestyle was not meant for her, and instead she took vows in the clergy so that she might travel and see the works of beauty that could be found outside the orders confines and took up once again the art of gem cutting to create works of beauty to hopefully inspire joy in the hearts and minds of others. Currently she is unassigned to any temple or church and is a wandering agent of Shelyn, seeking out all manner of wonderous things. My thoughts?
You are the DM... it's your game, do as you wish. The longer it stays open, the more difficult your decision will be, because the quality of apps just keeps getting better. Closing early, however, would give folks a bit of time before/during the Christmas break to work on their sheets... upper level PC's take more time to get statted up, so giving them part of the weekend might help them. My two cents. Also, just making sure, my check cleared, right? You got that, we are good? Was there enough zeroes in it for my app? I usually do non-sequential bills, but I just ran out, so... hope the cashier's check was okay. ![]()

The secret tech is to actually send mail-order cookie dough and scotch. I can't believe you're still using cheques!

I normally only accept unmarked $100 bills delivered to me.. Cheques bounce you see. Cookie dough and scotch is an excellent substitute! Gotta be the good stuff-chivas regal 18yo at least..
![]() @OneDarkness-no character sheets are required at the moment. ![]()

Cookie dough and scotch....what a magical place. <3
I'm with dirkoth, if you wanted our our two cents. You are the GM. "...we dare not defy your whims. You are the Game Master, we are your pawns....you created the world we see before us. You control our fate!" (The wording is a bit reversed, but +10 cartoon wizard points if you get that reference.) |

Between my business trip, busy work heading into Christmas, moving house and two young kids... I'd better write up my application soon!

Sorry, for the slow update I finally finished all of my finals. Nothing, like a last minute 8 page research paper to put most things on hold. Will most likely have an updated completed app by the end of either Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

This is why you should have ended apps early.
People just keep putting in apps way better than mine. I like my chances better when I am with four other people, one of whom does a "barbarian smash" clone, and another that doesn't get past naming his PC in the app, and quits. I still lose, 50% of the time, to the barbarian, but still... good odds.
