Age: 25 Appearance/personality: “Mitch” as he likes to go by is, by no means, atypical of any particular stereotype. In fact, he’s alarmingly unassuming to a fault. His face is very distinctive in that it doesn’t stand out by any individual metric. It is obvious that he wasn’t always a manservant, as he lacks the intangible subservient personality of someone who has had to serve their whole life. He seems very simple, not necessarily in an unintelligent way, but in an ignorant way. Sometimes there’s the sense that he knows more than he’s letting on, but it’s mostly the way in which he’s probably bright enough to understand higher topics if he’d have been given the chance. If a typical lord or higher official didn’t “get it” the way he doesn’t, one could almost think they were making fun. Pity how talent is sometimes wasted on the lower class… Background: A bastard son of the riverlands, Mitchar works for Lyla out of a sense of devotion, as it’s impossible for her to support him at a rate of compensation that would be appropriate for his position. Mitchar just seems grateful that they’re safe and fed. Her sad story isn’t one that is unfamiliar to the people of Hallowbrook, but one that isn’t much dwelt upon. Refugees from the war were not completely unheard of, especially near the trident where so much carnage was wrought during the rebellion. Their house in turmoil with a distant uncle taking control after the lord of the house and his sons died during the rebellion there was legitimate fear that Lyla was in danger of an untimely demise so that the new lineage of House Rowancreek would be unobstructed. It’s unclear if they have goals superior to subsistence, but Lyla is an eligible woman and daughter, if without holdings and claims, to a moderate house. She’s young enough that by the time the new Lord of Hallowbrook is of age, she’ll still be a viable candidate for marriage. Mitchar and Lyla often spend large amounts of time together outside of duties required of him as a servant.

![]() Age: 28 Appearance: "Tall as a mountain and solid as a rock" was how the young lord's father described Ser Daegan. A giant of a man at 7'7" he is broad shouldered and is made even more massive by the heavy armour of a sworn knight of House Hallowbrook. Never a handsome man, Daegan's nose has been broken more than once and he bears the scars of many a battle. His great black beard is often hidden behind a full-faced helm but makes an appearance on social occasions. Personality: Ser Daegan is a seasoned veteran of more than a decade fighting for life, love and lord and he is content with his lot. A simple man at heart, he has learned the manners and courtesy expected of a knight but was not born to them and he remains uncomfortable in the social circles of the highborn, preferring simply to stand guard over his lord and the other members of House Hallowbrook. Loyalty, camaraderie and strength of conviction are virtues he values and he will take a man at his word until he proves himself false. The scheming and betrayal of courtly intrigues disgust him and the mindset required to look a man in the eye and lie over a handshake is alien to him. Fortunately, as a knight and a military man his role is to protect his young lord from those threats which can be seen and struck down while others guard against the unseen machinations of treacherous rivals.

Name: Lyla Rowancreek Age: 15 Appearance: Porcelain pale skin, brown/black hair that comes down to her thighs and dark blue eyes. Personality: Lyla is extremely naive and impressionable. Up until recently, she has lived a sheltered, easy life surrounded by people who love her, and it shows. Background: Lyla was born the fourth legitimate child and only daughter of Lord Rowancreek. Her mother died while she was young, and Lyla has no real memories of her. Despite this, the Rowancreek household was bustling and Lyla was a happy child under the adoration of her father and her older brothers and the tutelage of a Septa. She learned all of the skills expected of a young noble woman, and conformed well to the expected standards of dress and behavior, learning music, dance, weaving, embroidery and horsemanship. Then Robert's Rebellion came to Lyla’s backyard and her world turned upside down. Her father and her brothers were slain in the fighting, and she found herself in a position she never expected, as the heir to the seat of house Rowancreek. It was a position she was not prepared for, and she was frankly quite relieved when her uncle came and took control of the house. With the support of her father's counselors, she gladly supported her uncle as the new Lord, and figured her life would go back to more or less how it was under the guidance of her Septa, awaiting such a time that a suitable match would be made for her and she would marry for the betterment of her house. Instead, news came to her that her uncle saw her as a hindrance to his lordship and the inheritance of his own children and planned to have the girl disposed of now that she was without the protection of her family. Lyla fled her home the same night with the help of her servant and protector, Mitchar, taking only what could be carried on their two horses. Lyla was not well suited for life on the road, so she was quite pleased when Mitch found the pair of them shelter in the Child Lord’s household. Mitch suggested to Lyla that perhaps she would benefit from a betrothal to the Child Lord, and that such an alliance might help the young heiress retake her ancestral home from her fiendish uncle in time, and Lyla was inclined to agree.

In progress.....
My concept is uncle or cousin, someone in the family line with a solid stake in seeing the young lord succeed. I was thinking well known merchant, possibly steward or helps the steward. ![]() Name: Thomas Hallowbrook Age: 33 Appearance: He is a handsome middle-aged man of slight build, but with what some call a "baby-face". He wears his hair slightly "shaggy", but groomed. His cloths are normally expensive, but subtle; like well crafted leather with silk linings. He actually dislikes gaudy outfits & displays of wealth just for the sake of wealth....the irony of a wealthy man that doesn't like showing wealth isn't lost on him. Personality: A charming and polite man he is also known as a bit of romancer. Background: Thomas grew up with a reputation as "soft" He never liked fighting & all the normal "boy stuff". He preferred reading and learning in contrast to his brother. He ended up staring a business as a tradesman, mainly dealing in sea goods & wine, but he has branched out to dealing as a middleman for trade with Bravos. After the death of his brother he returned home to help his nephew manage the finances & such of the House. Warning: rolls have been deleted from this post.
