Ceraan apologised for his indiscretion to young woman and looked at the dance card, weighing up his options in regards to it and exactly how much of his dancing instructions he could remember before deciding to throw caution to the wind. With a small flourish, he signed the card and gave her a slightly crooked smile. [b]"It would be my pleasure, miss, though I do apologise for any stepped-on toes - my father's requests tend to keep me away from the ballroom."
As he held out his hand to lead her onto the dancefloor, he kept one ear on the two men that were busy talking. The things they were talking about sounded familiar, and the mention of the Knights being involved in some of their defeats forced him to hide a small smile. If the young woman accepted his offer, he was definitely going to ask about them as he tried to ferret out some information on the party-goers...

The mention of half-breeds in the basement almost made him stumble, but he recovered quickly enough and turned it into a low dip with the young woman in his arms, the move a bit more daring than expected of a formal noble dance, but not too scandalous. As he brought her back up, he gently twirled her before smiling airily at her as the song ended. "You're an amazing dancer, my lady. I'm surprised that you had a space on your card for me to steal. I'd have thought you would have been scooped up already, especially by one of the two men who were standing next to you."

"If chance is on my side, my lady, perhaps I may steal your time again a bit later." Ceraan said with a smile and a polite kiss on the back of the young girl's hand before standing to the side to let her new partner take her away. He watched her go, allowing himself a moment to breathe and briefly enjoy the aftermath of the dance before his eyes followed the two men into the smoking room.
Not seeing any other decent leads outside of the smoking room, Ceraan gave the men a minute or so before following in behind them,

Ceraan stifles a cough as he enters the smoking room, his nose wrinkling a little at the dense smoke hanging in the air. He walks over to one of the mantelpieces and pours himself a glass of port, swirling it in the glass before slowly making his way down the stairs, thinking of a possible excuse in case he gets questioned for being down here...
