Binding - The person can not physically harm others Illusions (Picked "False Prophecies") The hexed sees false prophecies everywhere. You have no control over the exact images or manifestations. Ring of Lies - Whenever the person attempts to lie, they hear a piercing ringing noise. Big lies will often make their knees buckle and disorient them. Severe lies can cause harm or even brain damage. Watching - You can enter a deep sleep, and see the world through the eyes of the hexed. You can feel their reactions to and impressions of what they are seeing. Wither - The Hexed loses all of their hair, or teeth fall out, or their period comes unexpected and heavy, or skin gets sickly yellow and spotty. Whatever the specifics, it's bad.
Uncanny Voices - You can give the Dark Power a String in order to realize a secret about someone you’re talking to. The owner of that character will reveal one of their secret fears, secret desires, or secret strengths (they choose which.) The Power Flows Through You - You can give the Dark Power a String in order to add 2 to your next roll
1 Sympathetic Token (and therefore string) against Nickolas Scylla: I hold a sympathetic token of his: a pinky ring bearing the family crest of the Clan Scylla. We were in wood shop together, and he took it off. At the end of class, it was lost! Nickolas' family is the closest thing Isabella has to symbolize "everything wrong with the world". Corrupt organized political power. All the worse because Nick's family knows there's more power out there, and they want it. Worse yet, they want it BACK, because they feel entitled to their old position. 1 Sympathetic Token (and therefore string) against Jennifer Webb: I hold a sympathetic token of hers, a "self portrait" doll from early in their long friendship. Jennifer is a long-time local; not quite rural not quite townie, living at her parent's B&B. Still, Jenny always felt more like an outsider, which drew her and Isabella together. They went through a lot of "phases" together - maybe even a goth phase (which Jenny eventually abandoned completely, while Isabella slid it out of view). Middle school came and they growing apart as Jenny got more and more popular. Jenny still finds time for Isabella outside of school, but they just weren't as close. Each of our paths have pushed us further and further away. Jenn is in search of a path, and with a little nudge, Isabella could provide it. Isabella smells that opportunity from a mile away. NPC tokens: Linnea Wiencek (phone number scrawled on paper); (Gary's token was used up to give him the binding Hex) 2 0 Strings against Teresia Moore (one lost to shut down role, one spent to convince her to run from werewolves) Only those with the highest security clearing know what is really going on at the Haubtmann Institution. At the end of her first summary of witchery, an invitation from out-of-town eco-terrorists arrived. They planned to storm the institution and put a stop to the "animal experimentation". Despite Grammy Hollinger's warnings, Isabella volunteered without a heartbeat. Having a low key security in the surrounding area, the massive group of well-meaning activists easily stormed the great slate-gray building. Isabella, however, got lost from the group in the labyrinthine interior. After a while she wandered inside a laboratory. One wall was lined with what looked like plated cages being pumped with a mysterious blue liquid. Isabella started pressing the buttons, hoping one of them would free the poor animal being injected by this f*cking 'smurf blood'. One of them opened, but it wasn't an animal which stepped out. It was a naked Teresia, hoses still attached to her body. The soulless look from the android/robot/THING! is enough to make Isabella back away and run. Her escape is short-lived as she runs into the arms of the institution special guards. Judging Isabella to not have seen too much, lucky for her, the institution handed over the criminal to local authorities, who in return sent her home as she was just under the criminal age, albeit with a strong warning. Isabella vowed never to expose herself like this again. Grammy Hollinger was right. There are better ways. However her surprise was great when she saw the newcomers one day. The girl was the one from the Haubtmann Institution and Isabella knew exactly what she is. Teresia seems to have little-to-no memory of the interaction. 1 String held against Ted: Back in late middle school, we were in a relationship. It felt like the first "real" relationship, but ultimately it wasn't much of anything. Since then we've been acquaintance, but distant. Then one day, Ted came to town changed. He had been obsessed with Jenny, and that fell apart. Being a Ghoul doesn't help! Isabella knows what he's become, and knows he's re-fixated on her. Isabella is not interested. She wasn't before, and isn't now - he's so angry and, well, dead. Yet, there is potential to use him and his strange new state of being... Also I was told: "A seed of retribution, planted in a bed of deceit, could be our solution"hold a seed from the Fae, Kai. Not sure if this is a token or not.
1 held by Ie, The Hag, my "patron"The Dark Matron: used The Power Flows Through You in conversation with the Fae, Kai. 1 String held against me by Sasha Shepherd: they saw Isabella take Nickolas Scylla's ring spent to give "two faced" condition
Positive: Yasmin If Isabella were more dedicated to her studies and less interested in (what she sees as) 'the big picture', she could be Yasmin. Both are sharp, poor, and not-too-cool. They get along great, Isabella prodding Yasmin to loosen up and broaden her mind. Yasmin prodding Isabella to focus on what's in front of her and stay on the straight-and-narrow. They can be playful and nerdy, and like making up fantastical little stories about the people around them. It is one of the most innocent and least-frought relationships Isabella still maintains. Negative: Gabriel If you knew she was a witch, you might suspect that Isabella would get along with Gabriel. Especially given the unfortunate goth phase that she and Jenny went through. But no, she can't stand him. To her, he is all superficiality, all show. He tands for nothing. His gothic ennui is just a fascade he paints over an absence of opinion, meaning, or personality. Smoking is a filthy habit, how can people think it makes him cool?!? She might even pick Eilijah over Gabriel, if her hand was forced. At least Elijah HAS beliefs, noxious as they might be. Isabella might see a pale reflection of her former self in Gabriel, and it turns her stomach. She despises him. (A probing reader might then wonder: what is her opinion, then, of herself?)
