Personality: Durdyn comes across to most upon first meeting them as a determined and focused individual. He is the type of person that once he accepts a task or sets his mind to something he is driven. He has always felt a bit like he doesn't fit in, being born of a human Father and Drow Mother. He is intelligent and quick witted , and not one to back down from a fight if it serves his purpose, that said he also does not actively seek out conflict even though his background leads to it most often.
While he may seem gruff and unfriendly he is in fact quite considerate and open to making new friends or contacts. In his line of work one can never have to many of either.
Appearance: Durdyn is average height standing five feet and eleven inches tall with a lean yet muscular build. His eyes are red and his skin a light shade v violet, he typically wears his white hair long and flowing down past his shoulders. He has a well groomed white beard that while short is well defined in contrast to his skin. He has several tattoos on his face and ears as well, two purple and red shapes above his eyes and thin red line line below. Similar red lines adorn his elven shaped ears as well giving him a somewhat intimidating appearance..
History: Durdyn was Born the first and only son of Chadara Nulvelith and his human father, Aeros Wilton. His father passed away not long after his birth though and he remembers very little of the man. Growing up with his mother primarily who had a small seamstress shop he had a happy childhood. He had several close friends even though they were all human. Still there were those who saw him as an Underdeveloped and took offense to his presence. Calling him names, and starting fights with him.
Living in a primarily human community, his mother told him to ignore those that treated him poorly it merely being a reflection of their own ignorance. Still as a young boy growing up the words and physical acts hurt. Fortunately there was another half elven girl named Triel. Triel was his most steadfast and dedicated friends, and outside of schooling they were almost always together. It was nice having someone other than his mother, he could rely on, and turn to.
During his latter teen years Triel and Durdyn's friendship developed into more, and the two began to see each other as man and woman instead of childhood friends. These were some of the happiest years in Durdyn's life, until everything came crashing down. Falvel a young human who had antagonized both Triel and Durdyn for years took things too far. Hoping to catch the young couple apart for his own interests in Triel he sent a message to Triel feigning it being from Durdyn asking her to meet him in the clearing near the cliffs.
Triel upon receiving the note did as instructed and set off for the destination. When she arrived instead of Durdyn she saw only Falvel standing there waiting for her. Realizing she had been tricked she stormed forward and shouted at Falvel calling him a variety of colorful names. Falvel growing angry grabbed her by the shoulders and without truly thinking of his actions turned and tossed her backwards, as she stumbled away towards the edge of the cliff, and over the side falling to her death.
Falvel terrified ran home and said nothing to anyone. When Durdyn made his way to Triel's house to meet her he learned from her mother than she had gone to meet him. Confused he rushed home only to learn that Triel had not been there either. Over the next 24 hours he and Triel's mother searched the community for her to no avail. It was the next day when Triel's body was brought in on a cart after having been discovered that they realized she was dead.
Durdyn took the loss sharply, and was overcome with grief at the loss of his closest and dearest friend, the woman he had intended one day to marry and raise a family of their own. When he heard where she had been found he was confused it was not a place they normally met and her mother said she had gone to meet him. Moving to her room he found the note supposedly from him and realized that she had been duped. Something about the handwriting was familiar though and after a short while he recalled seeing this writing before while in school.
As it dawned on him who wrote the note he left her house in a rage unlike anything he had ever felt before. Heading straight for Falvel's house, and knocking on the door. When he answered Durdyn punched him squarely in the face and moved over him striking him time and again, until he was pulled off by a city watch member. Durdyn told the watch what happened and why he had attacked Falvel. Falvel denied everything and even with the note he was not charged with Triel's death.
Once released from the guard station, Durdyn returned home. he knew he had to do something to ensure that Falvel did not get away with killing Triel. Over the course of the next few weeks he developed a plan, and enacted it. One night sneaking into a local nobleman's home and taking several valuable pieces of jewelry. Once he had the items he snuck into Falvel's house and planted them beneath the mattress of his bed. When the noble reported the missing items, the guard began their search Durdyn sending a few clues via a street urchin rewarding him with a hot meal and warm bed in exchange, for telling the guard that he had seen Falvel entering the house.
The guard upon learning of the illegal entrance searched Falvel's small house and upon finding the jewelry, was taken away and sent to prison for larceny. Being as the crime was committed against a noble it carried a stiff penalty of 10 years of hard labor, in the mines. The sentence did not give Durdyn a full sense of satisfaction, but it did give him a sense of closure knowing that Falvel was paying for his crime even if it was manufactured. From that point forward Durdyn dedicated himself to tracking down and finding wanted men, and returning them to the authorities.
Answer these, please?
Why are you stopping over in Abrecht on the way to the tournament?
Durdyn came to Abrecht to turn in a bounty and collect the reward.
Where are you from?
Durdyn grew up on SKittervane, though he is uncertain of his ancestral home on his drow Mother's side. Still he claims his surname of his drow family with pride.
How do you feel about the "underdeveloped people?
Durdyn harbors no ill will towards the underdevloped as they are called. Being a half drow elven some have actually included him in this category. Quite often those who think him underdevloped are caught off guard by his abilities.
Wild and unkempt it is clear to most who even cast a glance in Faolyn's direction that she prefers the wild places of the world to cities. Her olive skin is laced with a collection scars, ranging from small punctures, to large slashes. The most notable cutting though her left eye, they act as a warning to some and a tip off to others, the woman is a fighter. Her frame while not bulky or corded with muscle is lean and taut, and while smudged with dirt even beneath that one can see muscle definition akin to that of a cross country runner. Set into her angular face are a pair of partly slanted eyes the color of an oak tree's bark with small flecks of golden-brown throughout. Often her gaze is warm, and akin to a hug in and of itself yet anger the wood elf and you get the gaze of a well-trained predator Atop her head and in contrast to her earthy color pallet is a mane of wavy copper hair, often left loose and flowing on the right and corded into tight braids on the left. While not common on occasion one can see several feathers, flowers, or other such items woven into the hair on the right.
To top it all off Faolyn keeps her attire simple and functional, there is no flair and there is no fashion. She keeps her clothes dyed earthy tones, and her armor simple but effective. Often it is crafted of leather and takes the form of a solid chest-piece with accompanying bracers, and leg guards. Her feet are clad in a pair of well-worn boots that have most certainly seen better days. Yet despite having the funds to buy a newer pair she remains adamant about keeping her worn-down shoes, with no explanation as to why. Perhaps the only article of clothing that catches a fair amount of attention is the leather strand dangling from her neck and adorned with small, somewhat clumsy, wooden carvings of various animals, and a handful of painted wooden beads.
Trait One: I’m driven by a wanderlust that led me away from home. Trait Two: I’m oblivious to etiquette and social expectations. Ideal: Nature. The natural world is more important than all the constructs of civilization. Bond:Someone saved my life on the battlefield. To this day I will never leave a friend behind. Flaw: My hatred of my enemies is blind and unreasoning.
Personality: Surprisingly cheerful, Faolyn is bright, upbeat, and friendly with a positive outlook on life. She adores meeting new people, learning about other cultures, and simply experiencing life away from the forest. A helpful sort she enjoys solving problems, even other peoples, though sometimes she doesn’t know when to quit. It has also been noted that the elf can be overly friendly, and needs to work on addressing people as something other than a close friend. This bleeds over into Faolyn overstepping bounds, speaking up when she shouldn’t, and on occasion speaking out against something or someone she shouldn’t to stay out of trouble. When not attempting to solve other people’s problems, inserting herself into conversations she shouldn’t be in, or taking in the sights she can often be found curled up with a good book in front of a fireplace, or in the shade of a tree.
Despite her friendly tendencies and general want to protect those she holds dear, even Faolyn has her breaking points. The wood elf is fiercely devoted to the preservation of the natural world and will combat any and all who threaten it no matter the cost. It has also been noted that the wood elf has a habit of letting her emotions control her and dictate her actions, often resulting in her combating a foe much stronger than herself despite the risks. Even if those risks involve other's lives. She has an unbridled hatred for unnatural creatures ranging from your standard undead, to creatures twisted by magic such as owlbears, minotaurs, and other such monstrosities. In summary Faolyn will go on the warpath against certain creatures, even certain actions, and once she does it is a difficult task to turn her away from it.
The youngest of two children born to Olwyn and Aedran Dwynleth, both talented warriors, she was expected to follow in their footsteps since she was a young girl. While she was tossed into various training regimens, and all but forced to learn to fight, Faolyn's older brother Dayereth took the brunt of their parents attention. Though, their father was always more insistent that they follow in his footsteps than their mother. Though that didn't make their childhood any less grueling. If there wasn't a proper teacher available the children's father took up the mantle and he was the one who taught them both to shoot, to use the wood to their advantage, and to get lost in it should a foe prove exceptionally difficult.
The wood elf's life remained much the same until she hit the century mark, for it was at that time she joined the city guard. Not for any real want, but because it had been what she'd trained for all her life. It was during her stint with the Viol guard that she met her would be mentor Vanoran Aradi. He was a talented scout who took the young ranger under his wing and taught her some new tricks. Namely how to hit hard, and pick out an opponents weakness, not to mention how to pick locks when he got exceptionally bored. It was also Vanoran who started Faolyn down the path of questioning what she knew about the world outside the wood and the people who dwell there. In fact, Vanoran was the one who sparked the woman's interest in the world outside of Viol.
Once again Faolyn found herself falling into a rhythm with her life, and spent another fifty years simply working as a guard and working her way up the proverbial career ladder. In that time she fought her fair share of creatures, and was saved more than once by a fellow soldier and even Vanoran himself. Which instilled in her the mentality of protecting her allies and making sure everyone makes it back home. Though through the years the time she spent with her mentor caused her to wonder about the choices the Wood Elves as a whole made, and the values her own parents instilled in Faolyn and her older brother as they grew. Suffice to say the woman found herself with more questions than answers as time continue to soldier on.
When Faolyn was 153 things changed, a surprise to her but not an unwelcome one. Her mentor disappeared without a trace, and not even so much as a goodbye note. In addition the elf found herself growing bored with her day to day life and on a whim decided to do a disappearing act on her own. While not dissatisfied with her life she simply wanted to experience the world, much to her father's dismay. The two did not part on good terms and Faolyn even wonders if she'd be welcome back home because of it. When it comes to her reason for leaving her goals were two-fold, first to do as she said and experience the world, allowing her to form her own opinions on matters she's only had the opinion of other's to work with. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly is searching for Vanoran, who she wants an explanation from.
For the past four years Faolyn's been spending her time traveling throughout Abis, though rarely straying into the larger cities preferring the solitude of the wilds. Though, after meeting a fellow wood elf she learned Vanoran may not be quite so difficult to track. For, according to this admitted stranger, he traveled to Wyndham for the tournament, and thus the ranger found herself booking passage to a smaller port town on the southern coast of Skittervane and then starting to head north. Hoping to meet up with her mentor once she gets to Wyndham, or at the very least finding something to point her in the right direction. All the while enjoying the trip there and seeing what kind of adventures she can get into along the way.
1. Why are you stopping over in Abrecht on the way to the tournament?
To resupply mainly, though experiencing life out of the forest, and the wilds in general holds a form of appeal. Plus it truly was on her path to Wyndham, and as far as she is aware(Faolyn isn't exactly familiar with Skittervane) there aren't any major hubs of civilization for a while past Abrecht, and she'd rather not be stuck somewhere without the necessities.
2. Where are you from?
Faolyn was born and raised in the northern forest city of Viol on Abis. It is only in the past few years that she's strayed farther than the forest that surrounds her home
3. How do you feel about the "underdeveloped" people?
Faolyn has conflicting feelings on those most would consider underdeveloped. She views them with a mixture of apprehension, pity, and uncertainty. For the majority of her life she was surrounded by those who thought poorly of the underdeveloped races and that rubbed off on her. Though, during her recent travels she's had cause to interact with such people and her expectations have been subverted on a handful of occasions causing her to start to question her own beliefs on the matter. In short she's in a bit of a grey area at the moment when it comes to her views on the underdeveloped people.
Character Name:Juvery Pearlpoint Race: Half-Orc Class: Fighter Background: Noble
Trait: No one could doubt by looking at my regal bearing that I am a cut above the underdeveloped. Trait: I take great pains to always look my best and follow the latest fashions. Bond: Nothing is more important than the other members of my family. Ideal: Noble Obligation. It is my duty to protect and care for the people beneath me. Flaw: I too often hear veiled insults in every word addressed to me, and I'm quick to anger.
Personality:
Juvery is very much aware of his appearance. He feels that people quickly judge him for being a half-orc. He does everything in his power to make sure he is not seen as an undeveloped person. He is therefore often occupied with his hair and his clothes.
As a noble, Juvery feels that it is his duty to look after the less fortunate. Just like it is their duty to treat him with respect. How do you feel about the underdeveloped people? He treats others with respect too, even when he doesn't see them as equals.
Juvery is very competitive. He tries to be the best at everything he does. This holds true for his training in the barracks, for the following of etiquette, for reading books, and for pretty much everything else he undertakes.
Appearance:
His hair is neatly combed back and falls onto his shoulders. A single carefully placed lock pretends to have escaped his attention. Following the latest fashion, a single earring adores his left ear. His mostly dark green tunic has golden buttons, to show his style and station. The indigo cloak is fastened with a clasp that shows the symbol of his family: two crossed swords. Around the middle finger of his muscular right hands, he wears a signet ring that shows the same symbol.
History:
Juvery's family had been rich and powerful. Very rich and very powerful. Until two generations ago, that is. His grandparents had been decadent. They squandered their wealth and slandered their good name with extravagant parties, banquets, and gambling. The Pearlpoints were still a noble family in Where are you from?Wyndham, but their reputation had been damaged beyond repair. Juvery's father, an only child, did what he could to regain their status. Juvery himself was raised to be an example of how well the Pearlpoints still could behave. He was taught to always show his best side, always work harder than others, and always uphold their name. "All of what you do and say affects your family for generations to come," his father used to say. "Being a half-orc is a disadvantage. Some think of us as underdeveloped. We must distinguish ourselves from them as much as we possibly can, to show all the world how far above the underdeveloped we are." Juvery was compliant. He lived as he had been taught, in order to make his parents proud and to restore the honor that should come with the name Pearlpoint.
When he became of marriageable age, a match was arranged. He was to marry a human girl from Falling Knives by the name of Elleanna Silverlaugh. He traveled by ship with a small revenue. Wearing his finest clothes, Juvery walked into the dining hall where the girl's parents were already seated. They had a pleasant conversation about nothing. Then, Elleanna herself entered the room. She wore a dress suited for a funeral. That should have given Juvery enough information about her willingness to follow her parents plans. He should have risen from his chair and left the dining hall immediately, but he did not realize what was going on. Some snide remarks and thinly veiled insults later, he finally understood Elleanna's opinion. He left the hall ashamed. He had to go back home a failure. He felt like being alone, instead of taking the ship had come on. He did not have the courage to face his own revenue. So he sent a letter to the captain, informing him to set sail without him.
Juvery would return home on foot. Why are you stopping over in Abrecht on the way to the tournament?Doing so brought him to Abrecht first. There, he entered the first inn he could find. He took off his ring and stored it in his room, together with his fancy clothes. Juvery hoped he wouldn't be recognized, and started to drink. This night, he would be a simple drunk in a simple inn. Tomorrow he could be Juvery Pearlpoint again.

Please correct my grammar. It's how I learn.
Personality Trait:I always want to know how things work and what makes people tick.
Ideal: People. I'm committed to those I care about, not to ideals.
Bond: The workshop where I learned my trade is the most important place in the world to me.
Flaw:I put too much trust in those who wield power within my temple's hierarchy.
History: Balthazar lives a simple life but a happy one. Cloistered within the walls of the Waves on the Rocks monastery he has spent his years toiling under and learning from the other monks of his order. Life in the monastery is quiet. His days are spent deeply ingrained in the rhythm and routines of his work. He studies diligently under the master brewers who craft the potent brew for which the abbey is widely renowned. His life is pleasant, peaceful, and safe, without cause for disruption or disturbance. Aside from a few short excursions elsewhere on the island of Scalia, he has never ventured far beyond the boundaries of the monastery.
Personality: Balthazar speaks quietly and smiles quickly. Though his interactions with individuals outside of the monastery is limited he is often delighted by the surprising quirks found in the world at large. He is not the most skilled brewer in his order as his curious nature can occasionally drive him to distraction. Beneath a peaceful and placid exterior Balthazar is a monk who delights in a joke and is never above playing small tricks on those around him.
Appearance: Deep smile lines crease the weathered skin of Balthazar’s face. His dark eyes twinkle with humor and a bit of mischief. His age is not readily apparent though he moves with the slow, and patient grace of one who has a sense of his own strength. The loose flowing robes of his order are draped across his body and shell and are often stained at the hems from careless moments while working over the brewing vats.
Why are you stopping over in Abrecht on the way to the tournament? The Wave on the Rocks monastery relies on the sale of their famous brew to sustain the lives of the brothers and sisters who live there. Though most of the monks are occupied with the production of the brew a select few act as emissaries to the wider world, traveling to establish connections which are the vital lifeline of the group's existence. This is Balthazar’s first trip in this capacity as he was chosen to travel to the tournament to oversee the vendors who will peddle the beverage during the festivities. In the meantime, he has stopped at Albrecht to establish connections with a local merchant.
Where are you from? Balthzar has lived on the island of Scalia since birth. Raised by the gentle hand and stern eye of the senior members of the Waves On the Rocks monastery he spent his brief childhood swimming in the rocky pools along the Scalia coast, stealing ripe berries from the monastery garden, and occasionally playing tricks on the older brothers and sisters. Nearly all of his memories are accompanied by the steady sound of waves lapping rhythmically at the nearby shoreline- the sound which gives the abbey and its inhabitants their name.
How do you feel about the "underdeveloped people?"Balthzar’s sheltered upbringing has impacted his view on what other’s may consider to be lesser groups. In his eyes, all shapes and sizes outside of his Tortle brethren still have a certain amount of novelty. The Wave on the Rocks monastery does not subscribe to the concept of “underdeveloped” people and as such it is not an idea that is familiar to him. As he is on his first venture beyond the monastery seeing others treat these creatures as lesser could be a point of surprise, frustration, and even anger.

Ryle is a member of the Skin Carver Clan of goblins in the Bear Low Lands. He approached the party in the Drowning Orc, asking for help in clearing a newly discovered cave of skeletons.
More to come as the story progresses.
