Thanks Aethera! You're awesome too!
I'd like to call out our new (or new again!) moderators Raylorne and Unko Talok, who (re)joined us just over a month ago! They've hit the ground running and have been doing lots of great things. Spammers beware! ![]() |

I appreciate many people on this site, but wanted to concentrate on thanking all those who volunteer to run the NPSG threads. I imagine a lot of this work is thankless, with people dropping out and not telling you and just not appreciating it because it is free. That has to be annoying.
BUT ... I know from my experience how much fun the game can be and how much of a positive impact it can make. My NPSG GM (shout-out to the amazing Savoylen!!!) is one of THE reasons that I immediately became a Community Supporter and delved deeper into the site and other threads. So, to all of you who give your time for this...THANK YOU!

Here's to Birched and anyone else involved in keeping the site's lights on! People like you make society possible.
Here's to Alphabetically: Blackfyre, Khalil, Nevynxx, Runetide, Silk, and Unko Talokall the players in the game I'm running! It was like I was hoping to get a decent softball team together and somehow wound up with the 1998 Yankees. Here's to every newb with under 200 posts right now that will still be here in 5 years with thousands of posts under their belt! We don't know who exactly you are yet, but you're the future and we appreciate you.

It's been a challenging year all around, and my one constant has been the lovely RPGX community.
Last year I focused on the individuals that had shaped my experience here on the site, so this year I figured I'd focus on the groups that make this such a great place. First, I'd like to give a shout-out to the shadow community. One of the reasons I was looking at play by post in the first place was that I needed more Shadowrun in my life. Not only has the shadow community been that outlet, but they're just a great group of people to have around. Shadowrun isn't an easy thing to love. It has many, many, many faults, and it makes me feel much better to know I'm not the only insane person around here. Keep being awesome, my fellow runners! <3 Along similar lines, I'd like to thank the cast of Outplay 2020 for one of my most rewarding experiences here on the site. Bhlogan and Wyn may have spearheaded it, but it was a massive team effort with dozens of users working together to make something special. I count it as some of my best work here on the site, and the number of willing victims we had for the competition and the number that stuck around for the OOC stuff, hopefully, means many others feel the same way. It's almost a relief that I won't have to try and outdo myself this year. I'd then like to thank all of this site's lovely staff and all they do to keep this place running so smoothly. I help run a few large Facebook groups, and that's hard enough even with all the tools the Zucc throws our way. I couldn't imagine wrangling as diverse and spread out a crowd as we have here the old-fashioned way. Birched, whatever you're paying them, you should triple it ![]() Last and certainly not least, I'd like to thank the ![]() Here's to another great year here at the crossing ![]()

To all the GMs. A thankless labor of love. Unlike tabletop where your GM can see your reactions (and you can shower him/her with gifts) PBP can come up feeling short on appreciation.
Shout out to my past and Bhelogan, creed, MontageManiaccurrent GMs who keep belting out great stories and new ways to stretch the limits of the game. Given the many distractions and instant gratifications life has to offer, PBP is a really special pursuit. Great DMs make it possible. Props and gratitude! |

Short one. Thanks to my GMs and players, especially for putting up with my recent erratic availability (or at least remaining polite about it) and for being awesome in general.

Thank you to all the people who apply to my games, even if you don't make it in, I still appreciate the interactions and show of interest.

I'd like to extend my gratitude to Birched for providing us the opportunity to have a place to be, and to our community for filling that place with such awesomeness. This is easily the least "internety" message board I've ever been on where most people are kind and helpful. Dirkoth is actually quite kind once you get to know him.
I'd like to thank Birched for my recent promotion and helping me realize the dream I never knew I had of banning spam accounts, and allowing me to antagonize Dirkoth across more areas of the board. It's also allowed me to help with the CSEA which is proving to be an entertaining experience. I'd like to thank Dirkoth for calling animal control instead of the police when he caught me lurking outside his house. Their tasers are less painful. I don't participate in many games, so it's a short list of shout outs. Engrinaz for keeping a long term game running with an original lineup of players. It's been quite a few years, and everyone is still going. FoggyKnight and BlackJim are the only two original members in my game which has also gone on for quite some time now. It can be challenging to find quality games which span multiple years and I'm fortunate enough to be in two.

I want to give my thanks to the handful of players I've been able to write with as a fellow player and write for as a DM. You are some of the most creative and often funniest strangers I've had the pleasure of chatting with.
I'd like to give special thanks to Retry, who had to drag me through my NPSG and then still had the kindness to invite me to my first big-kid campaign. He further screwed up by allowing me to co-DM one of his campaigns so I could learn the ropes of leading a game. He's a true asset to RPGX and a bear-friend to many. Most of all, I'd like to give my gratitude for the existence of RPGX. This silly dragon forum has been one of the greatest creative and entertainment outlets for me during the past awful year and beyond that. In the past year, RPGX has taken over as pretty much my primary source of non-family people. Where I used to check Facebook, I now check RPGX. A large part of that is due to the fact that you're all about the nicest folk I've met in this digital tundra. There is no constant flow of negative energy here. There are no people screaming in your face about politics. There is minimal whining. You're just a core group of class-act people who have come together under a common love: being huge friggin' interesting nerds who are kind to one another and just want to roll some damn dice. Merry Christmas, y'all. Err, Happy April Appreciation! Last edited by Lashiec; Mar 31st, 2021 at 09:25 PM. |

What a tough year it has been for all of us. I have lost too many people dear to me.
All I wish to say here is one word: Love. Take time every day to love those you care for. Hug more often, say kind words, pay it forward when you can. In short, love others. Time is shorter than you think.
