When Yonte tried to calmly get her to safety, she snapped. "How dare you give me orders, mortal?!" But then she reconsidered... "I'm sorry, I shouldn't assume your potential lifespan."

However, she did stay back for a moment... only to see Yonte almost blowing everyone up. " "Professionals." " She repeated the woman's last word and rolled her eyes. The blondie floated back to the room, to be in the artificer's way. "I think that's enough. All of that pointless brutality won't bring you people anything other than death. Can't you see, that fighting fire with fire will only get you burnt?" She began making a good-hearted but quite cliché and boring speech. Countless, Casting: Spirit Guardianstiny orbs of light began appearing in the air and floating around her to draw attention, as she continued. "Aren't all living creatures friends? If we all just calm down and talk this out, I bet we can solve whatever problem we have here." The orbs of light slowly floated to all the creatures around her, covering them in glowing dots. "So... are you with me?" The end of her speech was answered by some cheers... no... those were screams... screams of kobolds being burned to death by her radiant light. "Oh come on!" Any attempt at de-escalating was completely gone.

The retreat of the half-a-dragon folks was kind of good news, and bad. Reinforcements would come, eventually, right? Better not to be trapped in a room full of highly flammable goodies then.

Erelli moved west, and was getting kind of tired of strangling people by remote. It just felt right to go more... old school for a while. Thus, she pulled out her hand crossbow and chose a target. The ooze. There was something about a slithering great lump of heated snot, that the rogue didn't like. For sure, it had never had to pay any taxes.

Perhaps futile, but sort of fun none the less, she sent a bolt in its direction, if only to test how squishy it was.

Distillery C The kobold let out a yip as the bolt from Yonte's gauntlet struck it, yet the fire seemed to hurt it much. It was more of a surprised yip than anything. It mattered very little for the unknown woman the champion requested to stand-down did anything but. Floating towards the struck kobold she conjured a field of small orbs that coated the kobolds, roasting them with radiant light. Ronk roared in pain and continued to flee into the southern passage shouting the same phrase over and over in pain. If anyone had to guess, he was complaining on the 'orbs.'

Erelli tore away from the hallways leaving it to the Greaser and instead turned her attention to the odd molten ooze. It was steaming a bit from the orbs of light that clung to it and ungelated from it. Taking aim the thief let loose a bolt that sunk into it and sizzled from existence. It reacted from the strike but not as much as one would hope.

Mikey took two quick shots at the half-dragon on the other side, each arrow striking the rocky edge of the passage she hid beyond. Spektor eyed the location the greaser held and moved with the Queen's grace to the Mikey's side before charging down the pathway. Manx gave a cunning grin before pressing something.

Two iron doors fell from slots hidden by the rocky ceiling of the passage. One at the end of the hall Spektor was charging towards, the other behind him. Cutting the deathknight off from the weasel mounted greaser.

From various cavities in the hall fire errupted and began to take shape. The area was already hot being that it was the interior of a volcano. This hallway had suddenly become sweltering. The plumes of fire seemed to have eyes that were gazing at Spektor and hands that reached out towards him as well!

Outside the passage, the ooze rolled towards the one closest on the ground to it. Going off of pure instinct and pinning poor Erelli with all the pain that Dirra(?) (and some from Erelli to be fair) had caused. A molten psuedopod reached out and slammed into the thief with a heavy burning blow!

Combat and ChatterChatter:
Dirra with the AoE nukes~

Ronk has continued to flee southward, you are free to chase after if you'd please. The room he is in is the living quarters and there are ten (10) other normal kobold in there.

The ooze, being an ooze; is in pain and went after the first creature it could properly sense. Sorry Erelli :<

@Spektor - Manx was readying an Interact with Object action. She has triggered a 'trap' when you were in the middle of the hallway and has activated the incinerator! Three (3) Fire Elementals (from MM, not customized) are spawning. Come next turn you will be fully subjected to their Fire Form ability. You can attack any of them with ADV at this time.

The doors have an AC of 20 with 50 HP and a damage threshold of 5, they are also immune to fire, poison, and psychic. You can try and lift them using an action to perform an Athletic(STR) check, DC 20. Its steadily getting hotter by the second in there and environmental hazards will occur soon. Best of luck!

@Everyone - Remember, you have Yonte's Bless on you for all attacks/saves
I have marked everyone's token with a green icon to remind us myself that you have a buff.

Spektor
Shadar-Kai Deathknight

As the trap was sprung, Spektor immediately recognized the danger he was in. The swirling forms that exploded to life, while not common to the deathknight, had been hinted of before. Having to think quickly, knowing he would be quickly outnumbered, an unnatural sheen swept across the warrior's readied blade before utter darkness burst from it, creating an inky, spherical mass that seemed to grow with every pulse of a racing heart. Soon, all light that had shed upon the hall's walls had been blotted out, but the deathknight was not affected in the least. To him, the dark was just as bright as night. The choice now was to continue pursuit or face down the three whirling flames that would soon look to cook the shadar-kai right in his armor.

YonteThe strange blonde gets huffy at Yonte's crowd work, and seems to imply she's a god. Then she incinerates all the local kobolds. "Okay then. Carry on," is Yonte's only reply to that.

Erelli takes a pounding from the molten ooze, and Spektor springs some sort of trap, which appears to make the situation much worse. Elementals of fire appear and then the area goes dark. But that is far away, and Spektor's footfalls fade into the distance. That whole situation is a problem for ten-seconds-from-now Yonte. For now, Erelli could use her help. The Hop-lite charges up, and charges in.

"Back away if you get a chance," 97mg: if you can't do roguey things to get away, at least the AoO will be at disadvantage. And I might get a chance to push it away, in the monster's turn.she advises the rogue. "And watch out for any splash back; I don't think this is going to be fun," she says with a grunt as the punches at the ooze. Fully expecting See reactions: if there are big damages taken due to touching this ooze, I will cast Absorb Elements as a reaction on the first instance of damage.to take a burn in the process, Yonte covers behind her shield as she hits the creature once, twice, with 19 thunder damage, and the ooze has disadvantage on attacks against anyone except Yonte.shaking thundrous blows.
OOC2 hits on ooze for 19 thunder damage. It has disadv on attacks against anyone but Yonte.

I'm a little worried, knowing oozes, that I'm going to get burned when I hit it. If so, and if that damage is big (say 8-10 damage on the first instance), use my reaction to cast Absorb Elements to gain resistence to the damage type. If I get through without using my reaction, then if the Ooze then hits me on its turn, I'll use the Repulsion Shield reaction to push it away, especially away from Erelli, if I have any control over it.

Erelli
left-aligned image
It seemed that the desire for a "squish test" was mutual. As a jelly-like smackdown fell upon her, Erelli conjured a strange memory. Possibly because of the rattling of her brain against the sides of her cranium. It was her father, chatting to her during a riverside picnic. To a nearby tree was a rope hanging down from a branch.

"Don't go getting too fancy on that thing," he had said.
"It is all about the landing. Water, can be hard as stone if you hit it flat and hard enough."

So, if water could be hard as stone, then jelly, one might logically conclude, could be even harder! This is what she experienced first hand. A big, solid, whahack! followed by the smell of burning flesh. Honestly, Erelli knew the distinct aroma of her own burning skin and hair quite well by now.

She screamed and squealed. She tried to... well... kind of loosen up too, reflexively attempting to sweep as much of her frontal body area out of the way as possible. As the stars in her eyes began to fade, and the pain began to set in, she glared at this awful great blob of quivering meanness and reached out a hand.

"I always hated jelly!"

Regardless of if her touchy-feely attempt to steal some life from the thing worked or not, it was time to bail out. She fled to the northeast, trying not to be the thing's nearest foe...

"What are you... Hey! I'm not done talking with you! Come back here and help me resolve this peacefully, you stinky lizard!" The floating blondie chased after Ronk into a room full of kobolds... while forgetting about all Spirit Guardians. DC16 Wis, 15/7 damagethe burning orbs of light around her. She then began to Toll the Dead. DC16 Wis save or 16 damage.beat her spear against her shield, trying to get Ronk's attention.

"Oh jeez!" Mikey yelped as steel doors crashed down around Spektor. "That ain't good!"

He urged Francine forward, grabbing the door and pulling with all his might....

....which was admittedly not very much, considering he was three feet tall and riding a giant weasel.

The door remained closed.

ActionsMoves to closest door by Spektor, fails his ATH check with a 14.

Distillery C The words from the goddess were innocent sounding yet her presence was anything but. Ronk rushed for his dear life into the cavern and down the stony stairs into the kobold's den. The air was musty with whatever those annoying rascals had cooked up for breakfast that day. The ceiling's stalactites were uncomfortably close to scraping or smacking the fleeing half-dragon in the head as he tore through the abode charging for the stairs on the opposite side. There sat a door leading into a ramshackle building that was constructed into the wall of the volcano's structure. >SLAM< went the door as the goddess formerly known as "Dirra" descended with what looked to be a field of fireflies at her side.

The ceiling was low so she was forced to a mere hover over the ground in her chase. The kobolds were in the midst of readying slings and daggers to respond to the warning bells that were going off when they looked up. All but two were set upon by the small orbs and roasted where they stood, collapsing in a near-unison fashion onto their nests filled with eggs.

The goddess halted for a moment in the air before turning her attention on two kobold off near a makeshift shrine to the southern portion of the room. Just beyond the field of orbs. Both wore makeshift red dragon costumes that were a patchwork of various red-hued clothes and poor craftsmanship. They were in the process of placing large bird eggs on the alter where a large five-headed dragon statue cast in gold rest. Spectral bells appeared around one of the kobolds and it shrieked out in pain before collapsing.

"Taz!" the other kobold cried "Nobody messes with the Kaldron's Mascots! EYAHH!" the "dragon" lobbed the large bird egg it held towards the goddess prompting a blinding light to erupt and the egg to go wayward and collapse onto the ground. The egg crashed to the stony floor and released a mixture of yoke and poisonous fumes that smelt of sulfur and quickly faded away.

The 'dragon' kobold paused and looked at the broken egg. Mustering what little courage it had left, it pointed to Dirra "You may have won this round but I will be back! Bigger! And stronger! With more eggs and-" the kobold declared whilst running towards the door and unknowingly entered the field of orbs and was promptly roasted.

---

Narrowly dodging the brunt of the ooze's grasp Erelli attempted to return the favor with a spell. Striking the surface of the Molten Ooze she could see the necromantic energies coursing over its body and could feel some energy restore to her. That was, until the heat of the ooze started to register, searing her hand in a way that felt like she grasped a iron pot that was cooking on the stove without proper mitts or cloth.

Yonte tore into the skirmish with the ooze with two mighty blows. Specks of molten ooze splatter onto her armor heating the flesh protected beneath it giving Erelli the proper chance to tear away and retreat to safety. After laying into the unintelligible entity twice Yonte found her second blow had to travel further to connect with the surface of the ooze than the first. The entity shrunk inward to expand a collection of tendrils from the sides to wrap around Yonte. The pseudopods struck at the champion's limbs searing her body and attempted to coil around her and pull the armorer into its molten body. Yonte managed to raise her shield before it could and launched the large ooze west onto the roasted kobolds Dirra(?) left behind.

---

"Wha~ho! I cannot see!" a voice echoed in common within the partially dark hot passage way. The temperature was rising by the second and the protective armor Spektor donned was starting to heat up. "When have you become so weak Tempris?! We have been called upon to shine! To scald!" a voice to the south called from beyond the veil of darkness.

"True-true! Come brethren! Release your mighty flames with me!" a third voice further south called out.

"Hm. True - I WILL TRY MY BEST!" the voice closest to Spektor declared before the heat seemed to intensify, wrapping and coiling around the deathknight.

Outside Francine stiffed curiously at the door as Mikey tried in vain to get it to lift. At one point he felt it shift up slightly before the weasel dipped down to gnaw on a scrap of food one of the kobolds had dropped, undoing any process the greaser had made.

Combat and ChatterChatter: @Dirra - So your presence Spirit Guardian indeed killed eight of the ten kobold in there. Your Toll the Dead another, and the final one tried to flee to the door and was vaporized - aka room clear!~

There are twelve nests scattered about with trinkets and eggs in them and an alter to the far south with a statue of a five-headed dragon (tiamat) cast in gold. There is also a door to the south-western part of the room that Ronk fled into.

--

@Erelli - Your Vampiric strike did hit but any health you recovered was
Dice * Ooze - Heated Body (Erelli):
d10 5
negated due to the Heated Body feature of the ooze. Regardless, you did hurt it!

@Yonte - Oof! Was not expecting a nat 20 on that hit! BUT - you escaped a nasty attack as it was about to grapple you with its attack. Your repulsion shield activated and blasted it back canceling the grapple and the fire damage it was going to start doing on your next turn. The ooze was blasted back onto some roasted corpses of Kobold and seems content (for an ooze) to be consuming their bodies, as it is not moving back towards you.

I do, however, need a Concentration check with a half of 27pts.DC 13 or Bless fades.
--

@Spektor - So I noticed a very important detail in the Fire Elemental's stat block: their Fire Form does not mention you entering their space, just them entering yours. So by moving to the northern part of the room you prevented triggering the ability, at least from my understanding and reading of the ability.

I also gave them the ability to speak common because it wasn't much fun (for me) to have all the kobold/half-dragons speaking draconic and no one understand - even though it made sense. So far, they haven't even noticed your presence (yet) and are trying to negate your magical darkness through sheer will-power.

It is also getting hotter in there. On the next turn mechanical effects will take effect in the form of Heat Metal with a scaling DC, starting at 10 and increasing by 5 every two turns.

Spektor
Shadar-Kai Deathknight

Even if they were blinded, the denizen of the Shadowfell could see as if it was day, watching the swirling masses of flame emote as their voices seemed to be a result of pure magic. Spektor could already feel the heat building. Turning and bringing a hand up to press against the flat of the stone slab, he ran his fingertips down until he knelt, finding just enough space beneath to dig his gauntleted fingers beneath the lip. Dropping his sword to his side as he wrestled both hands beneath the impossibly heavy slab, the darkness continued to ebb from it, covering the moment the Shadar-Kai found the strength of a legion within him as he growled and thrust the stone slab up.

There was a bellowing, hollow crash as small shards of rock showered down from above. Spektor had been ready to slide beneath the slab, swiping his sword at the last possible moment, but instead he looked up to find the most curious sight: the stone slab had gotten stuck. Looking forward and seeing the kobolds readying a common man's fireball, a surely diabolic idea dawned upon him.

Turning back and looking at the fire elementals, Spektor called out, "There is fuel this way! Fuel to make you burn hotter and hotter! Who can burn the hottest?! Who will get all the fuel first?!" Knowing this would certainly bring the quarreling elements racing, the deathknight swiped up his sword and did probably the second most foolish thing he'd done in just the last few moments: he charged right back the way he had just fled.

Dodging left and then cutting across to run down the length of the western wall, Spektor pressed his back to the stone slab that blocked him from his allies. Readying himself to defend if necessary, the deathknight was hoping the most northern one, now able to see past the stone that had held it and its brethren trapped, would call out confirmation of what had been called out to them. He did wonder how the kobolds would react seeing a far different adversary come through than they had been told to expect.

YonteYonte hadn't expected the duking it out with the firey living molten metal to go well. It went much worse than expected. She is splashed, burned, crushed, and burned again. The encounter might have been the end of her right there and then, except that she was able to put her magical shield up in time. A burst of pure energy shoves the creature away.

The electrical energy powering her armor seems to flicker. She quickly adjusts a few linkages, and taps her symbol of the holy brew. With a whine, the armor's traces of energy Activating another dose of my defensive shields, replenishing my 6 temp HP.shine brightly and consistenly again. Yonte turns to Erelli and nods at her nimble escape, but she warns: "don't get too close to that thing. It wants to pull you in. And that's not going to end well."

Extending her hand palm-out again, Yonte begins to slowly back away from the ooze. She rotates the cuff of her gauntlet 30 degrees, and the light source on her palm changes color from a lively red to a bright yellow-white. Out spits Just yer standard magic missile. 13 force damagethree rapid-fire jets of energy, each perforating the ooze zipzipzip. This time molten metal flies backwards, rather than onto Yonte's body. She continues the strategic pullback, counting on her ability to outpace its advance.
OOCYikes. I won't last long at the pace of the last round. Just trying to pull your standard kiting strategy. If I have any inclination that the ooze's movement is less than 30', she'd pull back only enough to keep out of its range of movement. If she's not sure of its speed, she'll put 40 feet between her and it - enough to avoid its movement + any reach.

As much as Erelli hated jelly, and really wanted to get rid of the great blobby mass that refused to stop jiggling, there was something else jiggling. Mikey's biceps! The poor lil guy looked like he'd working so hard on getting that door open. Who knows what Spektor was up against on the other side!

She hurried over to the halfling, noting that these doors looked really, REALLY heavy, and then sighed.

"I never thought Id' say this... but... I think you have a better chance than me. Let me help though."

Erelli gently tapped Mikey's shoulder.

"A little magic to help, and a quote from my father, to always bend your knees. Ok, let's do this!"

Aw jeez, the door didn't move! Curse these tiny halfling arms!! If only he had something he could use to pry the door open!

But he had nothing! Just this backpack full of ball bearings and string and two crowbars...

...
...
...wait.

"Oh my Tymora I'm an idiot."

Mikey pulled a crowbar from his pack and attacked the door again with renewed vigor. ATH check of 24 against the door. This time, he had more success. Oh man, now he REALLY hoped nobody had seen him screw this up.

ActionsI might have forgotten Mikey has multiple crowbars in his inventory... Anyway, the advantage roll for the crowbar gave him a 24 to open the door.

"Noooo! I did it again!" The blondie screamed out in panic, as the kobolds burned. However... she then noticed the golden statue of a five headed dragon... and her expression turned into disappointment or maybe even anger. "Tsk... Tiamat, of course that ***** has to get all the spotlight..."

She gripped her spear tightly and glared intently at the statue... but then looked back. Some probably not completely evil people were dying just a few feet away. "I will come desecrate that place later..." The girl pointed to her eyes with two fingers, then pointed them to the statue in the gesture of 'I'm watching you'... but then she remembered that there are five heads, so she quickly repeated that motion four more times.

She floated out of the room but kept at least a tiny bit of distance from the burning ooze. "Who wants some jelly for dinner?" The blondie gently shook her spear and the sounds of dinner bells filled the space around the creature, while the fireflies started to float in its direction. "It was just a thing I said. Actually, please, don't try to eat that thing."

Distillery C The intense heat within the hall was nearing the edge of dangerous as the metal Spektor wore start to heat up. With an impressive bout of strength the Shadar-kai threw up the fallen protective iron door into its housing under the veil of his magical darkness. The deathknight turned to the elementals occupying the passage and let out a call they couldn't refuse.

"Fuel!?" one voice cried out

"HOTTER! YES THAT IS I! I WILL BURN THE BRIGHTEST!" another called out followed by other cries. It was like asking a room full of children if they wished to have candy. The excitement was bursting from the seams, and that was all Spektor needed to know. Charging back into the hall he could feel the waves of added heat from the elementals as he passed through their space and arrived at the entrance door.

Mikey, cursing his small halfling arms, dismounted Francine to give the door another go. This time with his handy-dandy...Crowbar! Thats right! A crowbar, the must-have for any breaking and entering of large protective iron doors!

The rock floor needed to be chipped and extra pressure had to be applied to get the tip of the bar beneath the door. With a bit of aid from Erelli the door finally lifted enough to trigger the mechanical lock in the well. Tick-tick-tick the door called out being pushed back into the rock housing it fell from.

Dirra(?) having lost sight of the fleeing half-dragon and accidentally roasted an entire room of kobold, noted the statuette of Tiamat. Giving a promise to come and desecrate a shrine in a room full of kobold the goddess knew it would be better to return to the others. Coming around the corner the orbs were quick to charge back to the ooze and sear its molten surface with radiant powers. Yonte, just barely escaping a fiery hug thanks to her own ingenuity, moved north. She hoped it would be far enough to avoid the rolling blob of molten snot and fired off arcane darts that zipped around the pipes and barrels of the distillery machine and dove into the ooze.

It ungulated with and seemed to be a bit more runny than before. Spectral bells formed near it and rang out loud, yet did not seem to phase it at all. The ooze slowly started to move along the side of the cavern wall towards the closest source of heat it could sense, Dirra. Along the side of the wall its pseudopod reached out and attempted to swipe towards the goddess. It came very close and even forced a parry with her spear.

With the iron door open a wave of heat and magical darkness spilled out of passage way. Obscuring the scene that only Spektor was permitted to watch, yet they could hear all too well.

The elementals, jovial and cheering happily charged into the room filled with a lot of fuel. Fuel that could make them brighter, that could make them hotter! Fuel that could make them the hottest things around! A panicked cry echoed from the kobolds, some sounded like pleading before a chain concussive chorus of explosions rang out. A gust of heated wind rushed through the hallway followed by an even louder explosion!

The earlier cries of panic were no more but the jovial cheers of the elementals could still be heard. Complimenting and challenging one another to burn brighter.

Then came a massive, frustrated roar. One that came from further in down the passage Spektor had just escaped. One that seemed to shake the entire volcano.

Combat and ChatterChatter: @Spektor, Erelli, and Mikey - Please give me a CON save DC 10 or be deafened for this next turn. Remember that you are close enough to Spektor to benefit from his Aura

@Yonte - Yonte is smart enough to know how oozes would generally move so its understandable she could guess a safe distance. This ooze goes for whoever is moving and is producing heat (e.g.: body heat).

One distillery machine has been destroyed, thanks to Spektor's clever move!

The elementals charged to the kobolds who had bombs. The bombs exploded and reached the few barrels in there. The barrels exploded and caused the distillery to explode! All of this was far enough away that none of you could be hurt form it. However the blast was pretty loud and the tunnel was right there so it felt right for at least a chance at temporary deafening.

I rolled with disadvantage from the ooze against Dirra for Warding Flare, but forgot the ooze is immune to blind - and Dirra probably could have guessed such and wouldn't have done it! The attack still missed so no worries!
