Issue #2: Settling In

Things were just starting to settle down after a very busy week that began with the Hencmen had disrupting Valorheart's inaugural debut at the Protector's Day celebration. The table they all sat at while talking over the last few of the gift basket treats that had arrived a few days ago was classic office conference room style. It wouldn't be around much longer, the remodeling was going to start in a few days and it would be gone alogn with all the other left behind furniture. Between getting to know each other better, sharIng ideas for the remodel and discussion all that had happened there was a lot to talk about.

For hours after they had stopped the villainous trio, capturing two but unable to stop Small Haul from getting away, the unheroic business of helping clean up and giving their reports to the authorities took place. Silver Streak had made a point of investigating the food truck that had hid Quickshift and her Technobike. It had clearly been designed to transport the bike, its sides and top just being the facade of the food truck which was otherwise empty. Constructed to seperate at the roof and have each side drop on command the shell they created they closed was little more than an empty chamber on wheels. It had not all been methodical tasks though, Miss Olympus had some fun showing off for her new fans, demonstrating her powers and getting to know them a little bit. The girl she had made the wager for was a teenager named Rosy who had come from Ecuador with her family three years ago when her father secured a job as a structural engineer for Corpodyne.

As much as Valorheart was eager to learn more about the Henchman and their plans, they had done their part and had to wait for the authorities to do theirs. Elysia had a clear system of cooperation and separation when it came to criminals and villains. Superheroes stopped them and the authorities - whether the New Liberty Police or the security branch of ARKO - processed them. By following this, Elysia made sure that everyone received a fair trial of any crimes they were accused of and prevented any loopholes from allowing a quilty party to avoid punishment because a hero violated a legal right in their eagerness to uphold justice. The questioning of the two captured Henchman by the NLP did not reveal much.

Quickshift proved unwilling to talk, at least not anything that was not an insult or a string of curses, and while Crowdsource was willing to talk - at times rambling - he knew very little. He had been hired to wear the belt, which he called the Duplicator Belt, and assist in the robberies. Small Haul was always in charge. No, he had never seen him without his helmet. No, he didn't know his real name. No, he didn't know why they stole such odd and useless items. He received a message where and when to meet, was given the belt and the target. He was received his payment in cash at a drop point that was different each time. In all that wasted talk, two points of interest were revealed. The first being that the Duplicator Belt worked by a controlled chemical injection of a DNA specific fomula - in other words, a serum that was specific to the user and therefore rendered the belt useless to anyone else. The second was that throughout each heist, the Duplicator Belt - and presumably the Technobike - were sending data on their performance somewhere. The theory that these heists were being conducted as field tests of some kind began to take hold. The trials for Leslie Brown a.k.a Quickshift and John Smiters a.ka. Crowdsource were scheduled for sometime next month. As for Small Haul, no sign of him was found after the heist but he has been added to the NLP Wanted list.

Then there were two days of paperwork and listening to Darren Shenmay from the Department of Hero Affairs explaining the benefits of being registered as a member team. An annual parade on 'Valorheart Day', an annual donation of to a charity of the team's choice in their name, access to T.C.A.N (Threat/Crime/Alert Network) which aggregates information from various law enforcement and criminal investigation organizations nd a $1M Property Damage Waiver that covers the team and its individual members. The final topic that was covered was the signing over of a ten year lease to Valorheart. It was for waterfront warehouse 2.3 miles south of the Glaston Waterworks that has been rezoned as a Headquaters Zone.

And now you find yourself here, discussing that first fight and ideas for Valorheart's new headquarters.

OOC Note From the GM
The scene is set for the team to roleplay getting to know each other, rehashing the fight and share thoughts on the headquarters under construction.

Valorheart has been gifted with the shell of a Headquarters and it is up to you, as a group, to decide its design, its style and name. It is a Medium HQ (Warehouse) with a Toughness of 6. You receive it with 8 Equipment Points.

Charlotte sent a fair amount of time over the next day watching news reports on the fight at the inaugural thing. One broadcaster even did an hour-long, blow-by-blow analysis. Of course, they weren't privy to things like the mental link that Friendly had created or other details, so it was a bit of guesswork at best. Still, it seemed to a few of the analysts and Charlotte herself that her own performance had been a bit underwhelming.

She sought out Horizon late that day and took a moment talk with the man. "Good evening," she began. "I gather from the profile that I read that you are the most technogically savvy and intelligent amongst us. Could I get your thoughts on the encounter with the thieves yesterday and what we might be able to do better? Also, are you well-educated on robotics and propulsion systems? I was thinking that perhaps I could use some improvements."

The Team Is Moving Up
right-aligned image
Dall-E AI+Photoshop
Miss Olympus was really interested to talk to Rosy and she'd learned a little bit about Corpodyne. Her personal assistant Evelyn had arranged this "tryout" on the team in New Liberty but there was so much more going on here. And while Crowdsource was clearly a little batty, he'd done his best to fight with her, which she appreciated. It wasn't enough though. She'd barely gotten to flex her muscles at all! She was so desperate to fight someone that she hadn't let go of the Mantle of Hermes yet. Just in case a villain shows up or something. She sits at the new conference table with the illusory toga draping over the chair and a faint golden corona exuding from her due to the Mantle. It made her feel powerful. Persuasive.

Damara couldn't wait to go back to San Francisco and her classes, but she was enjoying their largely successful first fight against villains. These five heroes definitely had her back before, but she can't give away too many personal details. Her friendly demeanor can definitely make this a difficult balance to maintain: friendly but no private details. She could probably say she was a student...

The olive-skinned woman flipped through the reports on Quickshift and Crowdsource's interrogations, but it was largely gibberish to her. She quips to anyone else looking at the report, "I can't make much out of this. But it looks like this gear was tracking them? Sending data somewhere?" She raises an eyebrow below her mask that is not visible but it raises that respective part of the mask emphatically, "Does that mean we have some greater villain lurking in the shadows with all the missing yard gnomes and people's frequent flier miles?" She tries to make a joke about how Small Haul's crew was taking novelty items, but she's not sure if it will translate to the others.

Damara sets the papers aside and throws in her two cents about the headquarters, "Not sure about the rest of you, but being able to come and go discretely would be great. I uhm... if there was some kind of research area that I could do my chemistry homework, that could save me a lot of travel time..." She stops talking abruptly and looks over to the others, wondering if she'd said too much.

She takes a deep breath, "Just play it cool Damara, they can't read your mind." Then she remembers that Friendly is a thing and looks over at him, trying to suppress a shocked expression, "Oh. No. Can he hear my thoughts right now?"

After Action Analysis
left-aligned image

"Oh? Good Evening, Silver Streak. Always a pleasure to see you nice and polished." Horizon looked up from his datapad as he turned to Silver Streak, a three-dimensional replica of Quickshift's Technobike on clear display as he continued trying to eek as much information as could be salvaged from its performance in battle and the smoldering wreckage which had remained after the explosion. "Yes, you read correctly. With very few exceptions, I'm always the smartest person in the room. Though as I'm learning, the trick seems to be leveraging that to effective superhero work."

The latter half of his statement came out a frustrated grumble through the helmet's speaker, the gravity hero unable to let go of the potential scenario where the explosion had been smack dab in the middle of the crowd. Or the times his own actions had put Silver Streak in particular in peril. The very fact that the Technobike had self-destructed and robbed him of an opportunity to properly research the technology was also galling, but that frustration had fueled him in the following days, pushing him to obsess over every little detail of their encounter and their enemy with the limited information they possessed. Silver Streak's question was squarely in his circle of interest at the moment.

"Overall, I believe we did a fairly decent job, with much room for improvement, of course. No major casualties, two of the three villains captured, not allowing them to escape with their prize. All good things. Unfortunately, if the key had been anything more than symbolic in nature, it's loss would have been a stain on Valorheart's name, so mindfulness to the objective in our next outings will be paramount. We will need to develop proper protocols for a multitude of events to better coordinate with one another. In fact, I have fifty-seven right here to present to the rest of the group to start with." Horizon waved his data-pad in demonstration before continuing. "Everything happened very quickly, so quickly we hardly had time to communicate with one another before springing into action. Our allies did well in working on protecting the crowd, as that allowed us to focus on the threat before us. I can tell you that if not for the others, I would not have been comfortable focusing on countering Quickshift when there was a maniac with an energy weapon in the crowd. And you were our best chance of catching Small Haul in that moment due to your flight, though that's something that only became clear after all was said and done. We will need to become more familiar with each others' capabilities to become an effective team. In a word, practice. A great deal of it. We were effective enough for what was needed, but not at all coordinated. And these three we faced were brigands more than combatants, specializing in grabbing their target, sowing confusion, and escaping. If we are ever to face any villains looking for a fight, we will need to do better. I'm open to hearing what everyone else's perspective is on that encounter. Tabulation of data will be key in our advancement as a whole." Horizon looked around to the rest of the group, hoping for any contribution which could help him craft a better picture of what the team may still be lacking and how to fill that gap as soon as possible.

"You included, Silver Streak. There's been a great deal of analysis on the matter so far, but how would you yourself rank your performance on that day? I know I'm still annoyed with Quickshift's clever gambit with my abilities. As an aside, do you have any particular hobbies?" Still need to get her that gift.

The second of Silver Streak's questions tickled at him even more. A much happier topic than going over their successes and failures as a team with a fine tooth comb.

"Now that is a topic near and dear to my heart. You need only ask, and I promise I will dedicate all of my very significant brain power to upgrading your propulsion systems so far you'll be able to jump to the moon in a single bound. Eventually. I would need to test your body's physical integrity first, though by the way you took that explosion you definitely seem very well put together. Can't say I'm nearly as versed in the area of robotics, but I dabble. Which means that in addition to the research area our student-hero desires, we should be certain to include a laboratory for development and experimentation." Though Horizon kept his tone jovial, he regarded Miss Olympus for a moment as he tried to gauge whether or not he had dedicated himself to fighting side-by-side with a young adult or some super-powered teenager, but decided to let the topic go for the time being. She had handled herself well enough against Crowdsource, and people with power should be willing to use that power for the benefit of others.

He just hoped she wasn't some magically altered child throwing herself headfirst into danger. Then Horizon would just feel irresponsible.

"On the topic of our villainous trio, yes, it appears something more is occurring in the background. Nobody collects data like that without the intention of using it. It's a pity we didn't get Small Haul, because the other two are clearly disposable pawns. He is the strongest link we have to the source of the thieves' tech, and if the pattern holds, I would not be surprised that the next time he makes an appearance, he will have new partners in crime in tow. Whether it will be with the same devices or different ones, that I cannot say, but it would reinforce the idea that these are all field tests of some sort for a potential underground weapons market, established to cater to the more nefarious elements of our society. And if they are gathering data on their devices, no doubt they will be gathering data on us now, and how we defeated them. We cannot make the mistake of only fighting our past battles."

So much to do, so much to consider, and the lack of actionable data on the matter was frustrating beyond belief. But being a superhero was never supposed to be easy.

"If yard gnomes were the only thing they were out to steal, I would say to let them have it. I will never understand how people tolerate having those unnerving, garish things anywhere near their homes."

Charlotte had been glad to be in what she called fast-mode instead of flight-mode. Digesting Horizon's quick but still somehow lengthy discussion was only possible because her processors were amped up. She tried to contribute to the discussion by adding a few bits of information. "Doctor Le Mans was a genius and made my construction her life's work. Unfortunately, her research and design materials are distinctly unavailable for further study." This statement was said as a matter of fact and without pride.

"I regret that I was slower in flight than Small Haul and his jet pack. Becoming faster would be a great help... if my systems can take the strain - as you pointed out." She paused in a moment's thought. "Whatever the truth is regarding Small Haul and whoever is collecting the data on the performance of the various equipment, we will need to do our best to be ready for the changes and upgrades the next time it happens. From what I understand, the evidence left behind was not conclusive enough to help us investigate much further. Reacting to the danger when it arises will only get us so far. I read, 'A war is never won by defense alone.'"

And yes, she avoided the question about hobbies - for she had none beyond trying to learn and improve.

The Need to Know
left-aligned image

"A pity. The data would have been invaluable." The scientist in Horizon was distinctly nonplussed hearing the word 'unavailable', implying the data was either squirreled away to never see the light of day again or completely destroyed. Simultaneously however, it made the prospect of doing research on the synthetic woman an even more exciting prospect for his ever-hungering intellect. "We'll just have to create our own data sets by analyzing your fine structure then, with your permission of course. Still, would you know the best way to get in contact with the good doctor? A meeting of the minds on this topic would be beneficial for everyone involved. And I have so few opportunities to speak to people at my intellectual level."

Thoughts of what instruments would be needed for any possible future analysis of Silver Streak went through the scientist's mind in a flash, eliciting a giddy feeling at the possibility of discovering something new being just around the corner. But it was business before pleasure, and the man in the high-tech suit switched gears back to the more general topic of their thieves.

"If you're also suggesting we be more proactive, one course of action we could take would be to track the signal to its source. I could put together a device to do just that, specifically tracking signals with a signature matching the Duplicator Belt. Or something more general to use whenever Small Haul, or whoever they represent, are active again. We will need to be wary of any and all ne'er do wells making use of unknown, elaborate high tech gear in their crimes."

She seemed to have forgotten one of his questions among the deluge of productive conversation they were having, but it was alright. Rather than continue with probing questions intermingled between the hero talk, Horizon would latch on to the first piece of personal information he could glean from her and run with it. He was definitely smart enough to pick up on such things without having to be told explicitly. It was fine.

"Any more relevant quotes from famous old authors to steer us forward? Anyone? It is a busy day and there is much to discuss."

Junk food is still food!

A Friendly Face
Friendly is carrying a steaming cup-a-noodles when he walks by Horizon and Silver Streak talking shop. The shaggy brunette is wearing an oversized t-shirt and baggy shorts and his rope sandals make a light slapping noise on the floors. He fishes out a bite of noodles with plain wooden chopsticks. "Always assume incompetence before looking for conspiracy?" he chimes in with a smirk before eating another mouthful of the sodium-laced gluten strings. "Ultimately, though, while everything I heard on my way into the room have been salient points... it might be a bit forward to offer to thoroughly inspect lady's structure this soon. At least offer to buy her dinner, first." He adds a bit more seriously, "Trackers, especially, would be handy. I'm not ineffective in that category, but my target would need to have thoughts. That, for sure, rules out following belts, bikes, or other pieces of gear. Their users? That might be another story."

With a slurp, Friendly finishes his noodles and sets his empty cup on a nearby box. He gestures to the building. "Any thoughts on the remodel? If push comes to shove, I have some handy stuff at my apartment. If we can't find the room to squeeze everything we would want in here, you can always hit up my place in a pinch. I mean... I doubt you'd want to take the trip downtown just to use the library, but my dad's old combination laboratory/workshop or the infirmary could be useful in a pinch." The young hero shrugs, "I'm pretty sure I could get us access to proprietary Martingale Manufacturing Anti-Entropy tech if we were interested in that sort of thing. A Self-Repairing facility is fairly handy, after all."

It's a bit disappointing that Small Haul was able to escape. Pandagirl feels she may have been able to sense his life force if she had gotten close enough, but she was occupied with Crowdsource. Still, the duplicating villain was the one causing panic in the crowd, so taking him out was probably the best thing she could have done. Meanwhile, across the way, Quickshift is handled in a much louder, more spectacular way, especially compared to Pandagirl's methods which more closely resembled something out of Kill Bill. Except that instead of falling dead, Crowdsource merely took a nap. At least nobody was injured except for Silver Streak, but Pandagirl had the feeling she would be just fine. And as soon as the trio's outburst began, it's over with. The mayor is quick to get everyone's attention and refocus them with Friendly's help, and for all the villains' efforts, all they managed was to dent and damage a symbolic object that was easily replaced. Kia is quick to mingle with the crowd, talking to people and posing for selfies, recognizing the value of good public relations. She has to tell multiple people that no, she doesn't know Po, but aside from that it's a fun enough experience.

Her life as a college student had prepared her for paperwork, but fortunately there was very little for her to give in a report. She got the mayor to safety, used her powers to identify the real version of Crowdsource, bopped him a couple of times, and he was out. No mess, no fuss, and perhaps most importantly, no property damage. Crowdsource couldn't even threaten to sue Valorheart or the city over injuries because he had none. Kia was glad that everything went so smoothly on her end, though she wasn't naive enough to believe they would all go that way. It does give her time to think though, not only about the details of the battle, but what to do with the headquarters they've been given. Subjects she's quick to bring up when the time presents itself.

"I guess it's not surprising, I can't imagine anyone goin' through all the effort of stealin' stuff with that kind of technology if the stuff they're stealin' is... jokes. That's gotta be a big expense. I'll assume the tech you salvaged from the bike and what you've seen of the belt match up, but I'm a biologist, not an engineer," she says in between bites of an apple. "I don't guess we'd be lucky enough for there to be somethin' distinctive about it? Some weird chip that's only made by one particular company? That'd be convenient. And I like "There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want," she rattles off in response to Horizon's question about quotes.

"Like I said, I'm a biologist, not an engineer, so I can't help with trackers. Not in that sense, anyway. But my own powers are mystical and spiritual in nature. Part of that involves reading the... life force or aura of livin' things. They're as unique as fingerprints, it's somethin' I can just... 'feel'. I didn't get close enough to Small Haul to get a reading on him, but I should be able to track him that way if I can. And I think we did OK for a surprise attack when we hadn't really worked together before. Room for improvement, sure, but time'll take care of that if nothin' else," she adds before taking another bite of her apple. When Miss Olympus and Friendly bring up the needs of the base she is ready to follow up with her own ideas, though those may not be quite as overly practical.

"I don't really need much in the way of a lab, unless we have a group pet that needs treatment. Oh, but we need a group pet," she says with a smirk. "Well maybe not, but I wanna put some plants up at least. I can't stand bein' in a place that's... lifeless. That's probably more of an afterthought though. In seriousness though, we could use a place to practice and work out. Maybe a pool? Dunno who all would use it though. Still, some kinda gym-type place. Good health and all that," she says with a nod before finishing off the apple and tossing the core into the nearest trash can.

Silver Streak
right-aligned image

"That lawyer was respected and famous enough to be quoted?" she asked Horizon. "I... did not know he had such a reputation." Clearly, Silver Streak didn't know the source of the quotation that she had referred to.

Unlike Horizon, Friendly and PandaGirl were harder to follow. Maybe it was because Charlotte and the scientist were talking about things that she knew something about. Or maybe it was just an interest level. She could feel herself getting upset at PandaGirl's choice of phrasing but thankfully Charlotte's emotions didn't show "biologically" - because she had no biology. Her tone of voice didn't come out as calm and friendly, however. It wasn't angry or hostile... but a little annoyed. "PandaGirl, does it bother you that I am lifeless - that I am not a growing, living thing? The courts ruled that I am autonomous. Obviously, that is not the same thing. Would hanging some plants on me make you feel more comfortable? Perhaps one of those Hawai'ian lays."

"What? No no, not at all!" Kia is quick to add when Silver Streak makes her own objections. She didn't mean it that way but in retrospect sees how her phrasing could have been interpreted as such, working quickly to try to rectify it. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I meant my own abilities have a kind of... attunement to living things. Or I should say, biological things. I can sorta 'feel' their presence so bein' somewhere like a sterile lab is, to me, kinda like bein' in a completely dark or soundless room would feel to someone else. I didn't mean you, I meant that," she apologizes, trying to think of a good way to explain what she meant. It was unavoidable that there would be some issues with getting to know each other, she hoped the awkward stumbling wouldn't be taken poorly.

"I know you're alive, in a different sense of course, and honestly that's kinda fascinating to me I just didn't know how to address it. I definitely didn't mean to suggest you weren't a person or anything, definitely not," she is sure to stress. "It's more I'm not sure what to make of you, though I'd like to. Normally I'd offer to take someone to dinner to get to know them here, but I'm not even sure how that would work. Guess there's a lot to learn. Though I do think a lei would look cute," she agrees with a nod.

Damara Planning Mode: Engage
right-aligned image
Dall-E AI+Photoshop
Miss Olympus carefully listens to Silver Streak, Horizon and Pandagirl's conversation. When Friendly shuffles in dressed even more casually than at the ceremony holding a cup-a-noodles, she snorts quietly and mouths the word, "Nice," at him.

She looks with awe at Silver Streak, "Someone made you? That is so rad! Then they took you to robot court? Not cool. You're definitely a real girl in my book."

Damara leans back, content and puffs up her chest a bit before saying to Horizon, "I think that's my book quote. Pinocchio, right?" She affects a high-pitched voice that sounds more like the Pillsbury Dough Boy, "I'm a real boy!"

Perking up at Pandagirl's comments, she nods her head sagely, "That makes sense. Plants are probably how she gets her powers..." The intrepid hero grabs a pad of paper and starts writing with an immaculate teen girl's penmanship. It even has those bubble periods, exclamation marks and a few hearts in place of the dots on the i's. It looks a little more mature, coming from a 19-year-old, but only just.

1. Bamboo Lifeforce Garden
2. Secret Entrance
3. Lab Workshop
4. Workshop?
5. Regenerating Building! (Ask Silver Streak for some more of her silver. She robo-generates, right?)

Miss Olympus takes a break from her list to give Pandagirl a seismic high five. She manages to pull back on it at the last second. "Heck yes we need a gym girl! I knew I liked you! Okay I've got this one." Furiously, she resumes writing.

6. GYM.
a. Big pool.
b. Smith machine
c. Oxygen Restriction treadmill!
d. Free weights, sleds, ropes, kettle bells. All the good stuff!

Then she shows her list to the others and asks, "An infirmary would be good, right? To the side she jokingly asks Friendly, "What about a cerebral focus room that lets you reach out to every mind on the planet? Or a freezer stuffed with Hot Pockets?"

Silver Streak

Charlotte was not in the best mood to listen to somebody else's point of view but she had to admit that PandaGirl was allaying her fears and making valid points. That she had meant no harm became increasingly clear and Charlotte had to admit that her... nature was unusual and might be difficult for others to deal with. Finally, after taking a moment to calm her mood, Charlotte replied, "I appreciate you saying that. And I'm sorry for reacting the way I did. I clearly let my emotions get the better of me. I shall consider what you have shared." Yeah. The mood felt awkward now. The metal girl was not sure how to deal with that.

Horizon split his time between studying the report on the attempted robbery and listening to the conversation taking place between his new comrades, always thinking over what their needs would be best met in the near future and beyond. As he thought about exactly who it was he was surrounded by, more possibilities began to take solid form, filed away with the rest of his constant musings and ready to be reviewed at a moment's notice.

"We'll think of that as an alternative resource, Friendly, just in case. A clear division of resources will increase our chances of success, though a self-regenerating facility does sound useful. That would be a worthy addition to Valorheart's base of operations."

The brief exchange between Silver Streak and Pandagirl ending on a positive note was a small relief, even if it had only escalated to the level of minor annoyance by the aggrieved party.

"Logically, it stands to reason that one could say or do something to unknowingly rub another the wrong way. We are all still new to each other, still prone to stumble onto boundaries unknown. I consider it a good thing to establish such things early and resolve them before they manifest at the worst possible time."

"And speaking of boundaries, while I am personally allergic to bench presses, it does bring to mind the need for all of you to have a space where you may test the utmost limits of your abilities. And I will get to collect that precious data! Exciting!" Horizon sounded absolutely giddy beneath his helmet, hands clasped excitedly at future possibilities only he could see. "I would appreciate if you all shared your measurement tables for the average upper limit performances of your abilities so that we may have a benchmark to compare to once we've installed our instruments in the base. Keeping a chart on your growth would be beneficial to maximizing our performance. Blood samples as well. I'm especially eager to see how magic interacts with human biology in some measurable capacity. It is such a nebulous energy, but if it exists, it can be quantified, and improved upon! Perhaps we can even find some merit in that cerebral focus device once I've gone through sufficient analysis. And to ensure that you actually are tested to your fullest extent, I already have an idea in mind for using my grav-tech to build high-end resistance machines fit for a superhuman. I have benefitted greatly from measuring every micron of my tools, and I believe you could all benefit from the same scrutiny."

Miss Olympus looks over, surprised at Horizon. From how things started at the ceremony, she'd fully expected he might be the stuffy holier-than-thou type. But when he gets excited over seeing everyone test their limits, including workout equipment, she gets some secondhand excitement from him.

"Not bad, brainiac. That's some good thinking over there!" Her chuckle reverberates with a bit of From the Mantle's Enhanced PresenceHellenic radiance, "That was a joke about the worldwide cerebral focus thing, but if you think we can actually pull it off, that would be awesome!"

The young hero holds a finger to her chiseled chin, considering, "You know, I've had my powers almost two years and I've never been able to test the limits of Titanic in like a sciency way. Too busy being careful, or fighting. If you can make weight training equipment that I could use at that size..." She moves a bit closer to Horizon and lets her enthusiasm speak for her, "Bro!"

Banter on, my wayward son...

A Friendly Face
Friendly scratches at his jaw for a few moments, first listening as Kia and Charlotte defuse a possible misunderstanding and then nodding along to Horizon and Damara. "Yeah, a gym that lends itself to our particular needs and some especially dangerous room to simulate group encounters would be terribly useful in our downtime. An advanced medical area in case either goes awry would also stand to be beneficial."

He looks at Horizon, "My parent's company owns a few residential towers downtown. My father kept a little spot at the top of Martingale Heights for when long-term research projects would require him to stay nearby. It's where I've been staying, since... you know... they passed. Here, I'll send you a link to the specs."

Horizon gets a mental message from Friendly, <<It occurs to me, do I even have your phone number? How embarrassing. Could you just think it at me? I'd appreciate it.>>

"It also occurs to me that Valorheart was gifted this location with an ulterior motive. The Powers That Be are going to want to be able to contact us here and I would not be surprised if they planned to drop in from time to time. We might want to consider using some space to receive visitors while keeping them from stumbling into areas we might want to keep... private." The twenty-something hero glances from Horizon and Kia to Charlotte and Damara. His smile is infectious.

"Also, do we plan on maintaining this place as a home for the team? Will we need to add bedrooms, plumbing, and sufficiently private areas for a shared long-term residence?"
OOCFriendly drops his shields and snaps a quick Mental Communication Mind-Link between him and Horizon.
