A Children's Trip to The Market| The Monastery of Vhearaun
Ruby towers above most people at six foot and two inches, she's wearing her full plate at the moment, and she looks upon you as you enter with a serious gaze. She gestures to the table and says, "Gather around younglings you are being given an important task." She moves to the table with four sets of note cards in hand. She sets each note card down and says a name, "Zakntar, T'rissoyss, Lythrana, and Bruherd. Four of our young family members each of age to be allowed their first visit to the market and their first true view outside the Platin compound." Her red eyes look to you and you likely feel fear as the warrior woman measures you up, "You will escort these children to the Market. You will allow each to purchase items worth up to fifty gold pieces and you will bring them to see some of the city and then return. You are expected to ensure their safety and to educate them on the sights that they see. Make them understand at a visceral level what it is to be a member of House Platin." She steps back from the map saying, "The outing is in 24 hours you may use this map for the next four hours to plan and prepare. You may also ask questions for the next twenty minutes and then I will be on another task and none of the nobles of this house will be available to you. This task is yours and yours alone, we expect you to succeed and the children to be returned home unharmed." For those of you raised in the house from childhood you would remember your own first trips into the city. First with family members, then with guards, never on your own unless you were foolish enough to sneak out and then you would be met by Ruby with a stern lecture about responsibility and the feelings of your house members if you were to die. For those not raised in the house this is not exactly new but other houses do things differently so it is not exactly the same.

![]() Dral'al Silith stood silently at the side of her mother as she addressed the room. Unlike Mayala's dancers gait and the predatory nature of her adopted sister Akordia, any movement Dral made was carefully measured. Calculated to be most efficient and sparing, lest the moment called for action. Despite their familiarity, Dral surveyed the attendees frequently, her red tinged eyes scanning for any sign of danger. Even here, she was prepared for it. She wore a dark cloak over a formal black dress, the now-pallid scar on her neck covered. There was no sign of a weapon but her left hand always hovered close to her side where her crossbow hung, secured to her belt. Dral listened as the names were read out T'rissoyss, now she was a scatterbrain and flighty, but easily distracted. Lythrana She would require to be herded carefully, a gentle hand as Dral had no idea what she was capable of and her mother had chosen not to share. The mention of the priestess' of Lolth drew a sharp hiss from Dral's mute mouth. Zakntar Now that was a more basic problem, this boy had a lesson to learn and while it was not her responsibility, she would happily assist in his education if required. And lastly Bruherd, her grand-nephew, she had some fondness for this one. Or as close to fondness as she could envisage. Dral'al'silith cast her mind back to her attempts to sneak out of the house and follow Corubon when he visited the marketplace over a century ago. She was a different person then and had a very different future ahead of her. This visit was sure to be dangerous and the warning of no assistance from her mother or the other nobles was not lost on her. She had a very strong feeling that 'visceral' would be an appropriate description of their day. http://www.rpgcrossing.com/profiler/view.php?id=92078 |

![]() Dral'al'silith stepped forward from the shadow of her mother, almost soundless but eliciting a sharp click from her ruined throat, to draw visual attention, before her hands moved in patterns before her in drow-speak for all "Ren's plan is sound, as our number is six, I propose Rensau takes Zakntar and bestows upon him the appropriate place of Drow male if needs be. Dinral with Lythrana and Mayala with T'rossoyss. I will watch Bruherd. This will allow Akordia and Seldizar to freely observe for additional dangers and act accordingly". Stepping up to the table, she continued "Make no mistake, this is a test for us all, and we would be wise to note it as such. We are Platin, many will seek to take advantage of any error we make". Stopping to turn to her mother she signs quickly to her "We will not allow any embarrassment to befall the family" before bowing and returning to her side matching eye contact with each of the others in the room http://www.rpgcrossing.com/profiler/view.php?id=92078 Last edited by Talissen70; Dec 18th, 2022 at 06:10 AM. |
