Applications are reopened for 2 characters to replace player losses. We have a Slayer, a Dwarf Giant warrior, A druidess and a pair of Clerics (the sidekick is half elf/half dwarf!) and the party are about to start their first mission - so far they have travelled, fought a battle against Hobgoblins alongside a Dwarven Clan, met the Marshal of the North and the only Dwarven King alive. Applications for Artificers would be particularly welcome but I leave those ideas to you

Fascinating backstory and homebrew.

I’m seriously considering an Artificer(Artilerist) and Warforged(Figher) combo. I’d be happy to adjust classes or even sub-classes based on GM and or player feedback

A few questions:
1) You call the second character a ‘Sidekick’, but they seem to be simply a lower level character.
2) You call the Graelini Dwarves Rock Gnomes with +2 Int. I’m a little confused about which abilities they get (e.g., Rock Gnomes are small and already get +2 Int.
3) Would you allow Echo Knight as a sub-class? Not a biggie but I’m interested in seeing how they work mechanically.

Thanks for having read the wall and for expressing interest.

1) Sidekicks gain 2/3 experience so are a second character who advances slower.

2) For all races you take the Dwarf Racial features. Then you add a subrace. For Graleni that is Rock Gnome: they get +2 Int as well for reasons that will become obvious in play.

3) Echo Knight is fine, but explained as a technological device rather than magical.

You never get lost in caves or mines if you have either seen an accurate map of them or have been through them before. Furthermore, you are able to scrounge fresh water and food for yourself and as many as five other people each day if you are in a mine or natural caves. Rockfall Refugee Lizzy is a former slave that once worked the mines of Rockfall. After the liberation she made her way south where she now serves the Dwarves of the watch not as a slave but as a volunteer. Personality Trait: I think anyone who's nice to me is hiding evil intent, I prefer not to draw attention to myself Personality Trait: I hide scraps of food and trinkets away in my pockets. Ideal: Humility- A Kobald is meant to be of service, and I aim to please those I serve. Description Appearance: Standing just under three feet tall Lizzy is often the smallest member of the group. Her lean body and propensity to slouch does little to counter this perception. She has black scales with white markings resembling a skunk, she sort of smells similar too. She wears old leathers and a black hooded cloak that serves well to hide her appearance. Though her draconic heritage is easily surmised Lizzy's big blue eyes and toothy grin have a certain adorable charm. Personality: Lizzy does her best appear weak and submissive, she truly wants to please her new masters. Always seeking validation she will try her very best at any task. On an adventure she will usually take the lead, not because of any courage or desire to fight, but because she wants to protect her friends. Lizzy is an opportunist and a survivor. Though she may seem a timid coward when cornered she will fight with the ferocity of a dragon. During downtime she can be found tending to the party, cooking cleaning and serving. She can be a bit skittish, nervously pacing till she finds something to do. Like a child she loves a good story, a comfortable nap or both.

History Backstory: On the outskirts of Rockfall lived an evil mage, Sharak was a dragonborn of considerable power and ambition. Obsessed with finding an ancient relic of draconic magic he believed to be buried deep underground. He ruled his castle in the mountains with an iron fist, enslaving hundreds of Kobolds to dig the mines and guard his domain. Lizzy was born in those mines, she grew up a slave like her mother before her. Life was hard underground but the Kobolds scratched out a living despite the difficulties. They found joy in the small things like family and friends. They set up small communities within the caves and slogged along digging for a treasure that may not exist for a man they called master. In one day however fate can bring many changes. Lizzy had been exploring a new section of the caves that day. She was hunting rats for supper and of course ever alert for signs of the old draconic artifact. As luck would have it she may have found just that. She didnt know it of course, but the black jewel she found seemed important. An onyx gem set into a silver ring etched with the symbol of a dragon, it hung from a simple chain. It was certainly the best thing she had found as of late. Quickly she rushed home to find her mother and show her the treasure... When the Lightbringer came to Rockfall, Sharak's Kobalds knew nothing of his arrival. They cared little for the affairs of the outside world and were mostly content to live out there lives underground. They had never known anything else. Unfortunately war had far reaching consequences that effect even little Kobolds deep underground. Master Sharak resisted the lightbringer's liberation of course. The mage was worried that the dwarven armies would find the artifact he craved and use it against him. In a final attempt to thwart the Lightbringer Sharak collapsed the mines before fleeing the city. Hundreds of Kobalds died as their home caved in upon itself. Whole families were killed, communities destroyed. In the panic very few made it out alive. Lizzy was one of those few, she was left homeless and alone without a purpose. In the aftermath many others had found joy in the liberation. Rockfall itself was changing, but Lizzy had no desire to join in the celebration. She feared the return of Sharak and fled the city. Traveling south she kept herself hidden never knowing if her Master was looking for her or if the war would find her again... The black jewel clutched closely to her chest.

I have one clan which started with a player as an Elder which you can either become part of, or use as an example to create your own. That Clan is now part of the story, a new one would fit in so I will leave it to you.

If you want to apply as an Elder then feel free to PM me ideas

My reservation last time was the Eldritch Knight aspect of the character. Eldritch Knight just feels wrong to me and gaining those powers would be extraordinary for a Dwarf. Your background gives no explanation for this so that would be an area to work on. Hakar could grant such powers to a Dwarf, but why would they? What service has been done?
