Andromeda: Cannot react in time and falls into the pit. She is injured by the fall and by the spikes at the pit floor. November: Cannot react in time and falls into the pit. He is injured by the fall and by the spikes at the pit floor. Augus: Cannot react in time and falls into the pit. He is badly impaled by one of the spikes at the pit floor and dies from his wounds. Archimedes hovers in the air over Augus' body, not sure what to do. The minotaur's enraged bellows echo through the arena as it lunges forward, its massive hooves pounding the blood-soaked sand. With fierce determination, Kaine draws his bow, the string creaking under the tension. He takes a deep breath, steadies his aim, and releases. The arrow whistles through the air, a deadly missile of precision and power. It strikes true, burying itself deep between Gorath's eyes. The minotaur's roar turns into a guttural choke, its red eyes rolling back as it staggers, finally collapsing with a thunderous crash that shakes the ground. The crowd erupts in a deafening roar of astonishment and excitement, their cheers mingling with the echo of the fallen beast. The fire jets, which had been a deadly obstacle throughout the battle, suddenly sputter and die out, their fuel totally expended. The arena is now clear, the acrid smell of burnt fuel mixing with the scent of blood and sweat. Up on his ledge, Barius Ironfist watches in horror as his undefeated champion lies dead. His carefully crafted plan to ensure that no one ever claims the prize money is crumbling before his eyes. Panic surges through him, his well-practiced composure slipping. His face twists in rage and desperation. He knows he can't let these upstarts leave the arena alive. In a dramatic and impulsive act, Barius leaps from his vantage point, plummeting toward the arena floor. He lands with a superhero’s grace, one knee and a fist striking the ground as a cloud of dust billows around him. The crowd gasps in shock and anticipation, their eyes wide as the flamboyant arena master rises to his feet. His opulent clothes now bear the marks of his landing, yet his presence exudes raw power and menace. "Ye fink ye've won?!" Barius bellows, his heavy accent dripping with fury. "I'll show ye how I got the name Ironfist!" With a sudden, violent motion, Barius rips the upper half of his suit off, revealing muscle on muscle, a body forged by countless battles. The crowd gasps, then erupts into an even greater frenzy, their excitement reaching a fever pitch. They've never seen a gauntlet take a turn like this. No one has ever beaten Gorath, and now they're witnessing the ultimate twist. The anticipation is electric, the tension palpable. Barius starts walking toward Kaine, the only combatant who didn't fall into the pit trap. His eyes lock onto the half-elf, his expression a mix of rage and relish. "I'll show ye," he snarls, flexing his enormous arms, "then I'll 'andle ye friends!" The spectators are losing their minds with excitement, their cheers and screams echoing through the arena. This is a spectacle beyond their wildest dreams, a battle that will be talked about for generations. The final showdown is about to commence, and the stakes have never been higher. New Round. Here is the MAP. Next GM post same time tomorrow. |

Barius staggers back from Kaine's powerful blow, blood streaming from a deep gash in his chest. The crowd gasps, their excitement palpable as they witness the fierce exchange.
With a growl, Barius shifts his weight, his muscles rippling as he prepares to Dice Athletics:
Barius' roll has set the DC. Kaine must now resist with either Athletics or Acrobatics. If Kaine succeeds, he resists the shove and maintains his ground. If he fails, he's shoved into the spiked pit. He'll take 2d6 bludgeoning damage from the fall plus 1d10 piercing damage from the spikes. The rest of you find yourselves staggering around at the bottom of the pit, injured from the fall. Kaine's bundle of items, which included his travel pack, his bow, his quiver, 50ft of silk rope, his black shirt, and one Potion of Healing, landed in space F1 on the mini-grid. New Round. Andromeda, with a fierce determination burning in her eyes, takes a step back and then sprints towards November. The ranger interlocks his fingers, providing a makeshift boost. With a mighty leap, Andromeda uses November's strength to propel herself upward. She reaches halfway up the pit wall and thrusts her weapon into the stone, holding herself steady and preventing a fall.
November, drawing on his remaining strength, scales the wall behind her. He maneuvers into a position to give Andromeda the final push she needs. With a grunt of effort, he boosts her up, and she climbs the rest of the way, reaching the arena floor at the top of the pit. Barius, with a roar of fury, delivers a powerful uppercut to Kaine, sending the half-moon-elf fighter soaring through the air. The crowd gasps in shock and awe as Kaine's body arcs above the arena, before plummeting into the spiked pit below. Miraculously, he avoids being impaled on the deadly spikes, but the fall still proves fatal. Barius staggers backward and collapses to his knees, bleeding and exhausted. His breaths come in ragged gasps, and his once mighty form now seems diminished. Still, he seems happy that he got the last fighter knocked into the pit. The crowd's roar dims to a low murmur as they watch the spectacle unfold. As Andromeda pulls herself out of the pit, her muscles straining with the effort, November begins to slide back down to the ground, his hands searching for purchase on the slick stone but finding none. Suddenly, a heavy thump reverberates through the pit. Kaine's lifeless body lands nearby, his once-vibrant form now motionless, his body broken by the combined force of his injuries and the fall. The sight of their fallen comrade ignites a fresh wave of determination in both Andromeda and November. Andromeda, fueled by a surge of adrenaline, pulls herself over the edge of the pit and stands tall on the arena floor. Her eyes, burning with a mixture of grief and fury, lock onto Barius. The crowd, witnessing the incredible display of teamwork and resilience, erupts into cheers. Barius, on his knees, looks up with a mixture of disbelief and defiance as he summons all of his strength to get back up on his feet and put his dukes up. Andromeda prepares for the final showdown. The crowd's reaction is a cacophony of emotions — shock at Kaine's tragic fall, excitement at Andromeda's resilience, and anticipation for the imminent clash. This battle, etched forever into the memories of all who have witnessed it, continues to unfold with relentless intensity. The crowd's anticipation is at its peak. New Round. Here is the MAP. Next GM post will be around this time tomorrow. |

Andromeda holds her stance, remaining motionless and waiting. Likewise, Barius stays ready as well, making sure not to make the first move. It's a tactical choice. He wants to draw this moment out for as long as possible so that he can recover some stamina. That's when November also makes his way out of the pit. The half-orc is crestfallen. Barius was ready to try his luck against one additional warrior, sure, but two? He knows he doesn't stand a chance, not in his current condition.
He drops to his knees again. "Awright. ... Awright," he gasps. "Ye've beaten ... me unbeatable challenge. ... Ye've killed my ... beloved champion. ... I give up. ... Spare me life ... and I'll make sure yer paid." |
