Luxonberg nods at the Corporals initial response. Not your decision, I see, so there is another officer on board. Good. I would like to meet with Sergeant Aleksandr. From there we can debate the various routes we have to address this situation. We can access the cameras from the Passenger bay, can't we? Seeing into the cameras will be essential to fully understanding the situation. If you could send word to have them prepped before our arrival, i'd be most grateful. Turning to Solomon, he motions to his datapad. Please inform the group to meet us in the passenger bay. I am sure it is the safest place for the noncombatants, and where we can determine our next actions.

Luxonberg couldn't help but give a small chuckle as the Corporal talked about "checking up on them". As you can see we are more than capable of defending ourselves, but I do thank you for the concern. I would like to see what you have in stock, could one of your men do an inventory of essential, or useful gear? Otherwise we could stop by on the way to the passenger bay.

He looks at the pointed finger with distaste. He thought perhaps for once, he would get along with these soldiers. Still he couldn't help but silently curse himself for mentioning rank. He was so used to it not being an issue, that occasionally it slipped. I'm sure you were inquisitive enough to notice that I wear the pin of a NCO, not the uniform. As a soldier you would understand the pride of a previous service. I was promoted to Security Officer of this scientific expedition, and to be honest I don't feel obligated to explore the point any more. As far as you are concerned I am an officer, and while I'd gladly answer your sergeant's questions, I see no reason to answer yours.

He was about to say more, before he was interrupted by the undisciplined soldier. He showed a fierce scowl as the soldier started talking. Well, well, as if my thoughts didn't need evidence. Corporal, control your team. It doesn't do any good to have soldiers speaking out of turn. Discipline is essential to having a well-functional unit. Discipline and respect, which it seems your soldiers are lacking. I have shown all of you respect, only to receive none. I have always felt a man should be judged by his actions and voice, not his house, and you are unable to do so. Due to that I feel no incentive to further this dialogue. A true soldier would put petty politics aside, in particular during a moment of danger.

Turning to the outspoken soldier, Luxonberg gives him his coldest glare. In order to voice your concerns, you first must learn to listen. I informed our mutual enemy that I required proof of such allegations. If your Captain performed such atrocities he should be judged, but by humans in our courts, not by aliens. Nor will I take the word of some barbaric creature as evidence. I understand the subjective use of the words whore and slave at times, and I am sure in times of war these words become very gray. Still, while I trust these aliens have us crippled and in their hands, I do not believe their thoughts on your Captain to necessarily be correct. Hence, right after I got off the Comm, my first questions were asking on alternate ways into their fortified position, as well as accessing gear that could help in an assault. I am sure, using your intelligence, you could determine that I am not about to leave the Captain with these aliens so easily.

Looking over the soldiers he says his last words, On that note, can we stop this bull$hit, and get on with our jobs? Or do you plan to continue showing discontentment and insubordination rather than attempting to actually save your beloved Captain.

The brutish soldier with the handle bar mustache stands there still very much seething with his Corporal at his side, observing the situation quite impassively. You even make out the beginnings of the faintest hints of a smirk that is dancing on the NCO's lips. While the Corporal indeed may have chosen not to restrain the forthright veteran under his command, you can perhaps sense that this was his will all along. It is quite possible that the private voiced concerns that the entire squad wanted to be heard. While Garrett stands there not giving an inch to this small group of prosecuting Decados soldiery, Luxonberg and the currently nameless grunt and the Corporal lock eyes in the thick obscurity of that hallway. Garrett takes turns giving a furious eyeful to each in turn, perhaps daring one or the other to say anything further on the subject that was just discussed.

Garrett's glare is even more disturbingly poignant because in that suffocating darkness the combined soldiery notice that he can see them all perfectly well even without the help of low light goggles or any other optical equipment. Luckily, most of them probably believe the al-Malik Corporal to be the proud holder of some kind of bioware or cyberware that has enhanced his eye sight. If this one has special eyes, what else might be changed in that body? Practically speaking, it might be better not to find out. Without their own equipment they all would be as blind as bats on that ship.

"I don't know how you al-Malik do things over there on Criticorum, but in my book if one of your people has something smart to say--or better yet, something that is on everyone's mind, well, the issue should be addressed." The Corporal says evenly, putting a hand to the yet unnamed soldier's shoulder. "Private first class Lukashenko here had something good to say, so I let him say it. End of story."

Lukashenko's face and body relaxes much at that, and he takes a step or two back behind the Corporal. It appears that the private has just realized that he was a tad out of turn when it comes to military etiquette.

"Remember, you are in Decados space right now." The Corporal continues, his right hand waving over both you and Solomon. "You do and say what you want as long as it doesn't interfere with Decados interests. Right now, we need everyone to come together and deal with these aliens. However, if you think that you're going to flash your fancy Imperial rank around like we give two sh$ts, well, you're in for a disappointment. I take my orders directly from Decados officers and nobles. Period. I'm willing to work alongside you, NOT for you."

Yourself and Solomon notice a lot of the soldiers behind him nodding at that. One or two even sport a full blown grin at hearing those words.

"Besides, you're an officer on a scientific expedition. You're not a Questing Knight, a Phoenix Legion senior officer with ten thousand troops at his back, an Imperial official with a decree or anything else that can put his two cents in our can. If someone up my chain of command tells me I have to listen to you, fine. However, until that happens, you listen to us. You keep your orders for your scientists and priests."

All of the soldiers in this group are now smiling very much. One of them keeping point in the back even guffaws a bit.

"Alright, let's start fresh and go see the Sergeant. Word to the wise though, don't try any of your grand standing with him."

Garrett Luxonberg couldn't help but allow a smile to waver in his lips. Now this was the first sign of true leadership and military composure he had witnessed. Despite events not turning out the way he desired, it showed some hope of true soldiering. He knew he was stepping slightly out of line, but until the Corporal had just spoken he had seen these soldiers as nothing more than thugs. He was even able to avoid his mess up with his rank.

thank you for your thoughts. That was the first moment aboard this ship that made me feel you were a unit, not just thugs with guns. Let us start fresh with your sergeant. Ill do my best to not let my superiority get the best of me. But do note in Criticorum we give official imperial titles to those with abilities, not just noble blood. Don't think you are speaking to an inexperienced NCO. I might have more experience in these situations then the lot of you, even with your fancy gear. I will keep my orders to myself though, to be honest I am used to soldiers understanding my more advanced training and allowing me to take the lead. But enough of this, let's see your sergeant

Solomon nods at Luxonberg's order, and starts tapping away at the datapad. We're going to the Passenger Bay, and will meet you there. Decados Sergeant is there and will talk to us. Some things you will need to be filled in on. Solomon lifts his head and thinks for a moment, then starts typing again. Logging this here so Decados don't overhear. If I remember right, there are two escape pods on the front of the ship, out of the corridors. We may need them if things start going south.

Solomon watches the exchange between the two with some small degree of entertainment. He's about to speak up when the Decados starts talking about working with and not for, but Luxonberg responds again and Solomon lets it slide. He shuts his mouth and follows the group to the Passenger Bay.

Dandy sheathes his swordcane after hearing the datapad beeps. Then he takes a look into his datapad and mutters : "Hopefully the dangerous situation has already over and we can start gambling peacefully." But he feels differently, the danger is likely still there but takes another form. Sighing, Dandy tries to wake up Father Eleazar and Prof. al-Malik, so they can go together.

He unlocks the door and wishes that no hostile waits for him and his companion from the sensory deprivation room until the Passenger Bay.

"Well, I'm not saying every al-Malik soldier is useless." The Corporal offers with that small smile still present on his lips. "I'm sure you can take of yourself when you're caught in a pinch. We'll find out later anyways if things get hairy. If that happens, maybe we can both try to impress each other. Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition between the forces, eh? eh?." The Decados soldier adds with a slight nod of his head to emphasize the attempt at a joke. It is apparent to most standing present that the Decados Corporal is taking a shot at getting rid of the built up tension that was spawned with quite some force earlier. Given the situation, even he has probably decided that it's smarter to keep tight.. at least until the present crisis was dealt away with. All eyes should be kept on the present alien threat. The logic seems to be that you can all get back to killing and plotting against each other another day.

The Corporal then suddenly crosses over Corporal Luxonberg and makes a direct approach towards the position of the incapacitated Ukari who has not since moved an inch from his laying position. The Decados then leans forward, dropping to one knee in order to get a better position and casually proceeds to rattle the alien's head with the stock of his assault blaster. The first hit makes a crunching noise against the Ukari's masked face and sends his head bouncing off the ship's floor. The Corporal repeats the motion two more times, showing no more obvious emotion than someone would at cutting their own toe nails after a nice shower. He then raises from his knee to a full standing position.

"Well, that takes care of that." He declares, wiping his chin with a hairy forearm and then re-adjusting his firearm. "Don't worry, I just rattled him a little bit is all. We can't have the f#cker causing us any problems as we bring him back to our position. Say one thing about the Ukari, say that they're tough bastards."

With his free hand, the Corporal then motions for two of his own men to pick up the now very much unconscious alien. Anyone who has the ability can see that the Ukari's dark mask is now a mess of blood from the beating he just took. No doubt that the face underneath probably looks as intact as mashed potatoes.

Sensing the possibility that someone's sensibilities may have been ruffled by his recent act of violence on the downed combatant, the Corporal's smile grow to a very toothy grin.

"Don't worry, I didn't give him anything that he can't heal back from.. He explains with the smallest of shrugs. "I'm not stupid enough to lose our best bargaining chip."

OOC: Everyone who has the Awareness ability... roll your Awareness + Perception versus a difficulty of 7. Characters with the Auspex ability can also roll Perception versus a difficulty of 7 (even without the Awareness ability). Also, if any characters have an ability with the Spirit sphere, you might want to think about switching it on right about now... Remember folks, keep all that stuff in secret text.

Dandy tries to escort both Prof. al-Malik and Father Eleazar to Passenger Bay. Since the electricity is seems to be off at this time, Dandy unwillingly turn on a flashlight to see the way. "I hope no hostile see this or we are sitting duck here." They firstly turn right from the room until seeing Dining Room then get through it to Passenger Lounge. Dandy feels goosebumps here and there, but luckily he feels no trouble approaching his team, at least for now.

Eleazar, sensing his conversation had reached a conclusion, and seeing Dandy wanted to move, let his senses to return to focus as he stopped his ritual chanting.
