I’ve been going over the system, and this seems a little more complicated than the previous system. Would you permit the anti magical rare background?

Yeah, that's fine. I suppose that'd represent some kind of disconnection with the Weave?

You: Call me Ghrimm, as in the brothers more so than the reaper – though I have been known to reap upon occasion. Pronouns are He/His/Him. New to Pathfinder – bought digital versions of the books - love what I have read so far. Been in a few games on this site in years past but had to bow out for a couple years when the real world kicked me and my wife solidly in the teeth. Back now, still a little rusty on site mechanics (still trying to figure out how to upload a character pic correctly).
Character Name: Kobb Graymane Ancestry: Human/Versatile Background: Cursed Class: Thaumaturge Free Archetype: Beastmaster Background: Born to adventurous parents, Kobb spent a great deal of time on the move as a child. His mother, an Initiate of Sune, had left the local church in order to accompany his father (a wandering bard of no mean talent) on his many adventures. Nature took its course and eventually Kobb was born. Unfortunately, in the course of his adventures, Kobb’s father had made an enemy out of a powerful hag. She cast a curse that resulted in the slow, withering death of his parents and sickened Kobb for nearly a year. Even after it passed the curse left him with a strange hollowness or hunger that he could not adequately describe nor seem to fill. Only nine when the curse took his folks, Kobb became a ward of the local Sune temple out of respect for his mother. The priests ensured that he received both martial and scholarly training, perhaps hoping he would one day become an initiate. For his part Kobb had hoped to be able to follow in at least one of his parents’ footsteps, and to eventually find the hag and finish the job his father had started. But his tutors quickly discovered that while the boy seemed to readily absorb magical knowledge Kobb seemed utterly lacking in the ability to draw upon the powers directly. Divination revealed this to be a lasting effect of the curse he had survived – though it also seemed to give him some small resistance to magical affects as well. In an effort to discover away around his curse Kobb began broadening his studies, touching on the primal, arcane and even the occult traditions. Much of his studies focused on the many varieties of evil beings and how best to overcome them. These studies would take him away from the temple for months at a time, only to return from each trip more bitter and more dedicated to destroying such evils. The temple continues to let Kobb stay on and study in their library provided that he helps out when called upon, for which services Kobb often asks for payment in the form of esoteric knowledge or magical scrolls. |

You:
Acathala. I ascribe to the belief that everyone in the game should be having fun, including the DM. This will be my first 2nd edition pathfinder. I’d like to break my curse of not completing a campaign with a Drow character on this site. Name:Draedi Ancestry: Drow (deep elf) Background: anti magical Class wizard Archetype Druid Other Draedi is a young Drow, entering his 25th year, from the very minor Underdark city of Kaljimir. Born into a house of little importance, to a matron whose ambition far exceeded her ability. His intelligence was apparent and as soon as he was of age he, Draedi was packed off to the Sorcere section of the academy all Drow nobles attended. He came to hate the Drow society and all it represented. He barely survived several assassination attempts from people wanting to take the top student spot. The worst came at graduation, where he was forced into a ritual which was essentially an orgy(as per lore from the Drizzt series). That was the final nail in the coffin, and the point Draedi decided he didn’t care what it took, he was damn well leaving. Draedi was not alone. He had an ally whom felt the same about Drow society. A common soldier whom may or may not be his father. Sarajahn was an experience man, and with Draedi’s knowledge they came up with a plan to quit the city, and the underdark. It was a genius plan which almost worked. They were caught and brought back to the matron mother. Sensing her son cared for his possible father, the matron was particularly cruel. She turned Sarajahn into the monstrous Drider. Years later Draedi and Sarajahn had a second chance of escape. Sent as part of a raiding party to the surface. Instead of helping the raid, they instead warned the surfacers, and turned on their fellow raiders. Even after they helped to kill the raiding party, they were treated with suspicion, and held until a man named Naes came to hear their tale. To his surprise, judging them truthful, he asks Draedi what he wants. "To see my father restored from the curse, and then to live quiet lives." Touched by Draedi’s love for his father, Naes promises to commune with Sune, to see if she can get help from the eleven gods to banish the foul curse of Lolth from the man. This may take a while, and Naes asks for aid in another matter. Sarajahn will not be accompanying them, due to his deteriorating mental state, requiring aid from clerics.

Congrats guys! I think I will keep Kobb on the shelf for a future game, I really dig the flavor of the Thaumaturge class.
